Chapter 45 Lyoko's Heart (Straight to Heart)
A.N. – Season 3 begins here! To clear up a few things, A is still part of the group, even with the betrayal last episode. I will still be using A as her name even though they know the truth, it will just be easier. Anyway, the shortest season begins.
Short Summary – Two weeks have passed since Xana escaped and Aelita became freed. But when Xana resurfaces on Lyoko with high activity, the Lyoko Warriors investigate to find Xana has other plans for their virtual world.

Two weeks have passed since A delivered Aelita to the Scyphozoa to ensure her and everyone else a bright future, as she claimed. According to her, if this event didn't occur, the world as they knew it would cease to exist. But now, the world still remained in danger as Xana was now the primary threat to the world. What's worse for A thought, is that she has no idea what's coming as Xana has disappeared from Lyoko completely. She only has one objective this time and it involves what's going to happen at the end.
The day before classes were scheduled to begin, everyone was scheduled to meet up at the factory. Jeremy was at the computer, most likely trying to find out where Xana was hiding. A was reading something on her laptop, one of the stories she brought from her time. Aelita and Yumi were playing a Japanese game that Yumi brought. The lab doors open as Odd and Ulrich walk through.
"Welcome back campers" Aelita greets.
A and Ulrich share a glance, he would not forgive her so easily. "I thought we were done" Ulrich told her.
"Four to one. Just because you don't trust me means you overpower everyone else" A reminds him.
"After what you did to us and the world, you'll be lucky if we defeat Xana" Ulrich continues.
"Alright you two can it!" Jeremy speaks up. "Speaking of Xana though, he's been quiet. Ever since he entered the World Wide Web, he's had no interest in pestering us."
"No news is good news right?"
"That's what you think. I don't trust Xana as far as I can throw him. I reprogrammed the superscan to go through the web, so now we'll be able to find Xana wherever he is."
"So, what does that mean?" Odd asks.
"Well, if we find out what his plans for the internet is, then we can develop a plan to stop him."
"And the we go in to crack a few heads" Ulrich adds.
"Exactly. But first, I have to gain access to the net. So, for now let's see if we can find him." He activates program and it begins to scan Earth for any traces of Xana.
"Well, now that is handled, we should pick up our class schedules before lunch" Odd reminds them.
"Plan on becoming a good student Odd?' A asks.
"Who knows? Maybe this year it will be different. But I don't want to get into trouble on the first day."
"If Xana becomes active, you know where to find me." A enter her Lyoko door, but not before she heard a part of Yumi's conversation with Ulrich.
Flashback
It was a few days since Xana obtained the keys and A was slowly reconnecting with the group, going at a slow pace. As that day was winding down, Yumi pulled her aside.
"Listen, I need to ask you about something" Yumi tells her.
"If it's about the future, I can't tell you that much" A responds.
"Well, at least tell me, after we all graduate, who do I end up with? William or Ulrich?"
A was surprised at this. Was Yumi really torn between them? "What does your heart tell you?"
"I don't know. Ever since William came to Kadic I'm torn between spending time with him, and then Ulrich becoming suspicious and jealous. And even when I try to spend any time with Ulrich, William always seems to be there to interrupt it. He blew two chance last year for me and Ulrich getting together."
"I can't tell you who you end up with. Make your choice. Either continue down this path, or force something upon both of them to make them realize that you're not interested right now."
End of Flashback
"I hope you do the right thing Yumi. At least I know you and Ulrich will be happy together after all this."
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita was with Jeremy checking out the class list. They saw all of them except one in the same class. "You and me are together, except for Odd and Ulrich" Jeremy says.
"We gotta figure that out. With Xana becoming a bigger threat now, we can't risk being too far apart" Aelita whispers.
They walk back to where the others are waiting. "Well, the news is Odd, you're not in the same class as us anymore."
"And now with Xana in the internet, it's gonna become extremely more complicated to get organized if he returns."
"Well, I got an idea" Odd says going to Delmas' office.
"What's that?" Jeremy asks.
"Go for broke."
"Well, while he's doing that, we'll get lunch."
"Look who it is. The legendary warriors" William says.
"William, I forgot" Aelita says.
"Yeah, because of the traitor" Ulrich adds.
"Did I miss something?" William asks.
"Yeah, something big," Yumi responds. "I'll explain later."
"What do you want?" Ulrich asks.
"Nothing just to tell Yumi that we're in the same class, like last year. Anyway, want to clue me in on what's going on?" William informs them.
"Yeah, I'll catch up with you guys later" Yumi leaves with him as the rest heads of to the cafeteria.
Odd's Point of View
Odd convinced Ms. Weber to let him see the principal. Odd was hoping that using the principal's daughter as leverage, it would get him to change the class schedules. "So, it seems my Elizabeth has a problem?" He starts.
"Well sir, when she found she wasn't in the same class as me, she just flipped" Odd responds.
"Hmm, I see. I suppose I'll have to try reasoning with her. There's not much I can do about it."
"Um I hate to contradict you, but all you have to do is put us in the same class and then bam. Problem solved."
"That's not possible. It's far too complicated to arrange the class composition list. And Mr. Morales was quite clear in his request that you, Stern, and Belpois were to be kept separated."
"Jim?! But why?"
"I have no idea. Why not ask him?"
Odd leaves, but he needed more help to get back in the class with his friends. He decided to enlist A's help.
Aelita's Point of View
Jeremy is waiting on his laptop as his program continues looking for Xana, eventually finding him. "Fantastic! The superscan has located Xana! I'm off to the factory. Gotta find out more" Jeremy explains.
"Wait up, I'll go with you" Aelita adds as she follows after him.
A's Point of View
A was waiting for Xana to resurface. Knowing that he won't be quiet forever, especially with Jeremy hunting him down. "Uh A, are you there? It's me Odd."
"Odd? Are you at the factory?" A asks.
"No, I'm in Jeremy's room. Listen I need help and you're probably the one to do it."
"What did you do and what do you need help with?"
"Well nothing, it's what Jim did. He separated all of us."
"And how do you expect me fix this, romance him?"
"Well maybe you can work a little computer magic and put us all in the same class."
"Odd, you realize if I'm found out I could go to jail for this! What you're asking me to do is a major felony!"
"What? You just can't rearrange a few names?"
"No!"
"Is there anything you can do?"
A thought for a moment. "If you can convince Jim, I can do something that will force them to change your classes."
"You can! Thanks a! You're the best!"
"To some, not to all."
Aelita's Point of View
Jeremy is working on the computer in the lab when the superscan detects activity in a new location in sector five. "Uh oh."
"What's wrong Jeremy?" Aelita asks.
"Xana has sent a ton of monsters to sector five."
"He's probably mad that we found him."
"If that's the case, then what is he planning to do with his troops? He must have a good reason now to resurface."
"I'll head for the scanners."
"I'll warn A and the others."
A's Point of View
A was once again contacted this time by Jeremy. "A, time for some action. Xana has sent a ton of monsters to sector five for something."
"Okay, where are you all meeting?"
"I'm sending Aelita to the ice sector. Get there to meet her and I'll send the others when they arrive."
"Okay, I'm on my way."
Soon after, all of them are in the ice sector. A decides to question Odd about earlier. "So, did you get Jim to agree?" A asks.
"Not yet, but he will. I found something that he would rather not talk about" Odd replies.
"Don't tell me you're gonna blackmail him with something."
"It's flawless. He will give in, and it will work."
"You better hope it does. Because now of this, I'm not helping you anymore."
"I think you owe me and all of us." Odd tried blackmailing her.
"Uh reality check. Xana devirtualized you. The only ones I owe are Ulrich and Aelita. I betrayed both of them."
Odd accepted defeat and then all of them headed to the edge of the sector. Jeremy enters the code and all of them are transported to the arena.
"So, where are all these monsters?" Ulrich asked, popping open his sword.
"Well what do you know? They're all in a room below your feet" Jeremy informs them.
"But what's in there that's so important?" Aelita asks, looking down.
"If Xana has a ton of monsters below us, it can't be something good or beneficial for us" A adds.
"Exactly. And this is the first time Xana is here so there must be something that won't affect him now that he's free. So time to go and investigate" Jeremy tells them.
"Can we get through here?" Ulrich asks.
"No, access through the celestial dome." They all take off as the hallway opens and the countdown starts. "Don't forget to stop the countdown or this mission will be shorter than you think."
They arrive in a room full of moving pillars. They all make their way across and Aelita activates the key stopping the countdown. After this, the pillars start moving super-fast and the others start to get in gear to where Aelita is to avoid getting left behind or crushed. Eventually they make to the elevator and make outside of the dome with their vehicles waiting.
"We're here Jeremy. Now where do we go to crack some monster's heads?" Ulrich wonders.
"Head for the south pole of the dome. That's where you can gain access to the chamber" Jeremy informs them.
They all get on their vehicles and A takes flight.
"Maybe that's where Xana has his annual monsters ball. Cuz up until now we haven't seen any" Odd says.
"Then don't look now because I think I see the door security" A comments as two mantas come flying in.
The mantas fire at them as they try to reach the access. Odd and Ulrich hang back to deal with the two monsters as the girls find the entrance. "You're there. Can you see the access?" Jeremy asks.
"Yeah and snapping jaws of death. Definitely hard to miss" A replies. They all fly inside and stop at a platform with a key.
"What do you think this key does?" Aelita asks.
"Look up there." Yumi points to an opening. "This key must give us a way to get there."
A looks closer and sees a glowing crystal in the room. "Oh no."
"What is it?" Aelita asks.
"I think that room houses-" A starts but Jeremy interrupts her.
"Odd and Ulrich are in the tunnel" Jeremy reports.
"At last. Now we can see what this key does" Yumi responds as the boys arrive.
"Hi. How are you ladies?" Odd asks.
"A little impatient" Aelita relies as she activates the key and makeshift stairs appear leading up to the chamber. They all climb up the stairs and arrive at the bottom of the core chamber.
"Jeremy, I think we're here" Yumi says.
"Can you see the monsters? What are they doing?" Jeremy asks as they all see the monsters firing at something in the middle of the room.
"They're firing at some blue ball" Ulrich comments.
"That's no ball. It's a sphere and that sphere is the core of Lyoko" A says coldly.
"Are you sure?" Odd asks.
"I came from a future where I lived through these events before. I remember this specifically. Xana wants this destroyed because if this goes so does Lyoko and our chance to fight him."
"And if Lyoko disappears, Xana can continue to invade the world with no interference from us. Listen we don't have time to debate this. Whether A is telling the truth or not, stopping Xana from whatever he is trying to achieve is our top priority. So, get to it and I'll try to get more info on this crystal" Jeremy tells them.
All of them take off to engage the monsters. Two mantas fly down to engage them. Yumi stays behind to deal with the two mantas as the others go for the top. She jumps down on one and throws both her fans on the symbol. She jumps off and is shot at twice and devirtualized. The others continue towards the top. The manta goes back towards the others. It fires and devirtualizes Odd next. Ulrich super sprint up to where Aelita to and blocks the mantas fire and then he slices it as it passes by, destroying it. Jeremy suddenly comes on.
"Guys, A is right. That sphere is the core of Lyoko. It's the thing that holds our virtual world together. If it goes, all of Lyoko goes with it. But you have to hurry. The sphere only has two protective shields and the first one is gone" Jeremy informs them.
Just as Jeremy finishes, the first shield explodes, and the room becomes covered in red lines for a few seconds. The others continue getting rid of the creepers. Ulrich and A are both devirtualized, leaving just Aelita and one creeper.
Aelita's Point of View
The creeper crawls up to her. "Aelita, it's your turn now." Aelita stood there completely frozen. She had something now for self-defense. "Aelita use the energy fields. It's the only way to save Lyoko."
"I can't use an attack that A uses. After what happened, it just doesn't feel right" Aelita says in response as she backs up to the wall.
"She may be your older self and some of her actions may have hurt us, but in order for us to have a chance of stopping Xana for good, we need Lyoko."
The creeper fires and she quickly fires an orb, and both are destroyed.
A's Point of View
"After a week of vacation, we reconnected with A briefly and she suggested going to Lyoko to test something. Apparently Aelita developed her own way fighting. She's now able to fight alongside you now."
"How did that happen?" Odd asks.
"That's something I don't have an answer for. Could be something my father gave me or something that was locked by the keys. It's just something that happened" A responds.
"Jeremy!" Yumi suddenly shouts. "Look at that!"
Aelita's ID card suddenly goes black indicating she was devirtualized.
"She's okay" A says. "Just wait." A scanner activates shortly after.
They all head down to the scanner room to see Aelita safely return in a scanner. "Hey, do you realize you almost gave me a heart attack?" Jeremy tells her.
Aelita giggles as she hugs him.
"Did you know about this?" Odd asks A.
"I did. I decided to let you guys figure it out for yourselves though" A responds.
"Of course. Now that Aelita recovered all of her memories, she's exactly like us. We don't need Code Earth to bring you in anymore" Jeremy realizes.
"That's really helpful now that Xana is determined to destroy Lyoko to keep us from finding him on the net" Aelita adds.
"That's great Aelita. You're a full-fledged Lyoko Warrior from now on!" Yumi praises her with a thumbs up.
Aelita's Point of View
The next day, Odd reveals that he got back into their class. "So, how did you manage that?" Ulrich asks.
"I convinced Jim to make some revisions and A used some kind of program to create a computer error erasing our whole grade" Odd responds.
"Do you think we can fully trust A now?" Aelita asks.
"Trust seems to be a sketchy word for her" Ulrich responds.
"There's no way we can be certain that she did it for her own benefit, and not Xana's" Yumi says.
"Keep a close eye on her Einstein?" Odd asks.
"Maybe. She is one kind of a character…time traveler or not."
A.N. – I think this is a good start to season 3. There might be some combo chapters with this one but not as many. Also, this season will change near midway. We will not see Xana in this season.
