Chapter 54 Return of the Queen (A Returns)
A.N. – An interesting and final season of this story idea has come. Just know that some of these will go from Aelita's point of view due to A being on Lyoko. Save questions about this until the end. I will try to answer as many as possible with this chapter right here. Let's begin!
Short Summary – After A mysteriously returns after Lyoko's rebirth, Jeremy is stunned that Xana has not corrupted her. But when things go from mysterious to bad, the group now must fight an almost undefeatable foe…A.

A has reappeared in a mysterious place on a platform that was colored like molten rock. She slowly opened her eyes and she head sounds that sounded like molten lava moving. She held her head as she waited for her vision to return. The last thing she remembered was destroying the core. She didn't want to, but it needed to be done to both save William and not disrupt the future further. When her vision fully returned, she saw she was in a crater full of towers.
"Where am I?' A asked herself.
"Beautiful, isn't it" a voice said. A was surprised to even get a response.
"Come out!" She demanded. Xana appeared before her.
"Welcome back A. I never though we would see each other face-to-face again after my escape" Xana spoke as he walked around her.
"What do you want with me? If you want to kill me, do it. My current self will still live on, and she will still grow up into me."
"And have her come back to repeat the same never ending cycle. No, killing you won't solve anything. I want what you told me to happen, but I need a little help."
"You got your power. You don't need anymore help."
"Oh no. You're indebted to me. I saved you from permanent virtualization and brought you here."
"Before we hash out the details, maybe tell me where we are."
"I guess there's no harm. You're in my core. And we are currently in a replica known as the Volcano replica."
"But there's no volcano sector on Lyoko."
"I know, but this environment suits my personality. Dark, depressing, evil, kind of like how I want the world to look like without the lava. Anyway, the only way you can repay me is being my slave. I will leave you your free will, as you showed to be a hindrance but a great help in the past. The others would not be so lucky. Just know that is you show to much resistance or start helping the warriors without my discretion, I will seal your mind. I have my ways unlike before."
"Fine. But after what's done is done, I leave."
"You will have your freedom, but first, we have to get rid of a great threat. First, we wait for Lyoko's rebirth and then you will bring Aelita to the digital sea. I have a feeling he will not let her die."
Aelita's Point of View
The whole group was at the factory that night waiting to see if the data Aelita's father sent is enough to rebuild their virtual world. It was the only way to continue to fight Xana and possibly save A. After Jeremy finishes the last calculations, he presses enter. A new program loads but nothing happens.
"I don't wanna be a party pooper, but there doesn't seem to be very much happening" Odd says.
"The data that our father transmitted wasn't enough!" Aelita frowns and Jeremy takes off his glasses, rubbing a temple.
"I guess we must've been crazy to think that we could recreate Lyoko!" Jeremy says.
"Hey, wait, look at that!" Yumi points at the screen, where it shows the map. Lyoko starts to reboot and is recreated.
A's Point of View
"The time has come. Are you ready?" Xana asks A.
"As ready as I'll ever be" A responds. Xana creates a sword in his hand as A closes her eyes. She is instantly devirtualized. When she wakes up she finds herself back on Earth. "I'm back, but this time I have a mission to complete. Better get started."
A walked into the school yard like any other day. For some reason, it felt different, and it wasn't due to working for Xana. A concluded it must be the unexpected element of what's coming after today. This time will be much worse though…she will remember everything. She walked over to see the group being interrogated by Sissi, Milly, and Tamiya. She walked over and closed the camera. "Sorry, but these six don't want to be interviewed today or any day for that matter."
"It's…" Jeremy starts, visibly shocked.
"A!" Aelita finishes.
"Happy to see me again?" A explains what happened on that final mission. "I'm sorry for what I did, but William was planned to destroy the core. I wanted to save him, but I got away from Xana so that's not a worry."
"She's right, no activated tower. Xana's not behind this" Jeremy says as the bell rings for class. I'll catch you guys later."
Aelita's Point of View
"What's wrong?" Aelita asks Jeremy, seeing that look on his face.
"It's really weird" Jeremy says.
"What, A returning, or no sign of Xana corruption?"
"Both. A returns suddenly after recreating Lyoko, and with no sign of Xana corruption. Something doesn't add up."
It is late at night as a knock is heard from Aelita's door.
"Who is it?" Aelita asks.
"Hey Aelita, we're not distracting you, I hope," Sissi says coming in, followed by Milly and Tamiya. "We would like to do a feature story on you for our next issue. It's true we don't know a lot about you. Are you really Odd's cousin? And well, is it really all that cold in Canada? And why did you suddenly come here in the middle of the year? Our readers are interested."
"And Aelita would like to decline this interview. Sorry girls" A says from the doorway.
"And who are you?"
"None of your business. Now leave before your father hears about you antagonizing students late at night."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"You really want to test that theory."
"Let's go!"
"Thanks A. Without you I would've been Sissi's next victim and that's worse-" Aelita starts.
"Then being a prisoner of Xana is that what you meant." A has a smirk on her face.
"A, what's wrong?"
She walks up to her. "Nothing, nothing at all. Except Xana wants you." A uses her martial arts skill to knock Aelita out.
A's Point of View
A has arrived with an unconscious Aelita at the lab. She types a self-delayed virtualization into the console. She place Aelita into a scanner and steps into another one. They are both sent to sector five. A places Aelita over her shoulder and proceeds to the core sector. As she enters she hears Jeremy's voice, knowing she gonna be having company soon. What she didn't know was that Aelita woke up and struggled out of her grasp.
"Energy field!" A is suddenly hit from behind and she sees Aelita running away. Suddenly Ulrich appears, along with William.
"Hey A, what happened to being friends?" William asks in a fighting stance.
"You really have changed to your true self haven't you?" Ulrich adds.
"Watch out guys. Xana sent you some creepers" Jeremy tells them.
A activates her wings. "I'd love to stay and watch you two get beat, but I've got other matters to attend to." She flies towards Aelita.
A flies through the corridors of the core zone and soon she spots Aelita. She looks back and sees her incoming. She eventually turns and ends up in a dead end room. She turns around but A blocks her. "Energy field!" Aelita says but A dodges. "A, what are you doing? Listen to me! This isn't you!"
"Just because you're me doesn't mean you know me as well as you think," A responds as she approaches Aelita before knocking her out again. She picks up Aelita again and this time runs to the celestial dome. When she reaches the dome, she activates her wings and takes flight with Aelita in her arms. A flies through an open tunnel and arrives in what was once the desert sector. As A flies further away from the entrance. She looks down as Aelita wakes up. "Good morning princess. Had a nice nap?"
"Ah Yumi" Aelita tries to say quietly, but A looks behind her and sees Yumi coming.
"Not today" A fires an energy orb at Yumi's overwing and she immediately falls towards the digital sea. Both her and Aelita look as she falls, but then is immediately devirtualized by an unknown force. A then sees Odd coming in.
"Bonzai!" Odd snatches Aelita from A's arms. "I know you want to be around your current self's form A, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to be around you anymore." A immediately takes off at full speed towards Odd. "Laser arrow!" Odd hits A and she goes barreling towards the digital sea. She stabilizes but sees the two far away. "Sorry, but I hate being tailgated."
"Fine, you win for today. But soon you and your father will be reunited Aelita" A says as she accepts defeat and goes into the digital sea. (I don't think it's no secret what happens later.) A was blinded for a second but she eventually reappears in the volcano replica in Xana's core. "Apparently we have an issue with delivering Aelita."
"Her friends give her that protective wall, but alone she is vulnerable. We got to keep pressing with new ideas and eventually we will have her" Xana tells her.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy is at the computer screen with Yumi, Ulrich, and William with him. "Guess we know where her loyalties lie now" Ulrich says.
"Yeah. She's loyal to Xana. Always has from the start" Jeremy adds.
Aelita's Point of View
The group is in the gym discussing the previous mission. "I don't know why A would ever be loyal to Xana? Am I somehow destined to betray you all at some point?" Aelita says.
"What makes you say that?" William asks.
"It's something A said. That I don't know her as well as I think. She could be hinting at something bigger."
"Or she was hiding her true intentions this whole time. So the side we all saw wasn't her true side. Either one could work. But the mission now changes. We got to protect Aelita at all costs from A while stopping and trying to find a way to destroy Xana for good" Jeremy says.
"You think we can find a way to defeat Xana?" Yumi asks.
"He may be powerful, but not invincible. He's got to have a weakness and once we find it, we will have an advantage over him."
"Hello Jeremy" Tamiya greets politely.
"Hi Jeremy" Milly smiles at him.
"Hello" he replies back as the two take their seats in front of him.
"What did you do?" William asks.
"Nothing. I think they found someone to hate more than me" Jeremy says glancing at Sissi.
The crowd cheers Paco as Jim comes on and does a special performance for them as the disco king.
