Chapter 55 A New Way to Fight (Double Take)
A.N. – So, the new avatars arrive as well as Aelita's resemblance to A's fallen angel avatar. So, let's begin!
Short Summary – Jeremy's new avatars for the warriors are put to the test after Xana uses A to take a tower over for his own uses.

Aelita's Point of View
The whole gang is in Jeremy's room as tells a joke. "So then, the guy gets up and starts to scream 'Oh no, my canoe just sprung a leak!'" Odd finishes the joke, laughing. They're all in Jeremy's room, Odd leaning against the wall, William sitting next by reading a magazine, while Yumi and Aelita are standing near Jeremy. "Come on, it's hysterical! The guy thinks it's gonna spring a leak! Oh, forget it. You guys have no sense of humor."
"We do, just not yours," William points out.
"Try doing it for two years. It becomes a living nightmare at some point" Ulrich adds.
"Don't worry, a sense of humor comes with growing up," Yumi smirks a bit.
"Come on, I'm the funniest guy in school. In fact, if I wasn't me, I would be president of my own fan club," Odd says.
Aelita laughs at him. "Now that's what I call funny!"
"Yeah, but the problem is, I didn't mean it to be funny."
"You mind making a little bit less noise?" Jeremy asks in annoyance. "Some of us are trying to work. I've already spent a lot of sleepless nights recreating the rest of Lyoko and improving the digital equipment for all of you. And now I've gotta figure out what to do about A and Xana! You haven't forgotten that while you're doing your bad standup act that A is working with Xana. He has a perfect fighter and has many more nasty tricks up his sleeve than before. The faster we stop Xana, the less he can try to pull on us using A. So, if you don't mind, keep it down."
Everyone except Jeremy is at lunch. Aelita is more silent today. "What's wrong?" Yumi asks.
"Oh nothing, just thinking about things" Aelita responds.
"Jeremy and A?" William asks.
"Yeah, her working with Xana was a big bombshell that I still haven't fully processed yet. It opened another bunch of questions after we pretty much answered all of them."
"What are really concerned about princess?" Odd asks.
"Where is she really from? Is she from a different timeline where she is loyal to Xana or am I gonna end up betraying you guys at some point?"
"The way I see it, she's an enemy now. We fight here the same until Jeremy finds a way to get rid of Xana" Ulrich responds.
"That's another concern of mine, Jeremy. The more he works, the more chance he's gonna work himself into an early grave."
"That's our Einstein for us. Work comes first, social activities come second, like lunch" Odd responds.
"Unlike for you where lunch comes first, and everything comes second" Ulrich adds.
"Speaking of which I should set a banana aside for Einstein. He can eat and work at the same time."
"I would like Jeremy to take a break every once in a while. I know Xana is a major threat but with no real way to know how to destroy him, he's just going around in circles."
Suddenly Jim walks up to him. "Ah, Jeremy's good group of friends. Since I don't see him here, you better remind him that unless he is sick and with an excuse from Nurse Yolanda or principal Delmas, that Jeremy better be in gym class today or it will be an instant two hours of detention." He walks away.
Jeremy's Point of View
"You're kidding me! I need all afternoon to try to finish a way trying to cross the digital sea. If I can finish that, we can try to find A or gather needed to destroy Xana!" Jeremy explains to his friends.
"Jim was dead serious this time. Being in detention for missing class isn't worth crossing the digital sea" Ulrich tells him.
"Give me a few minutes. I'll figure something out." He hangs up. "Let's see, being here and in class at the same time. It's not easy, unless…" Jeremy starts typing with an idea.
Aelita's Point of View
The group is at the vending machines as they are surprised to see Jeremy arriving. "I don't believe it!" Odd says in shock.
They look up in the same direction. "Well, he sure got ready fast" Yumi says.
Jeremy is sipping a soda in his gym clothes. He kicks it and it flies into the trash can near the machine. "Two points! Hey everybody."
"You've already finished all you had to do?" Aelita questions him. He was at the factory; when did he have time to change?
"Piece of cake, sweetie pie, huh? What do you think? Sure, I'm done, you're looking at the man!" They all glance to each other, baffled at his words. "How's it going, kid?" He tilts up his glasses towards Yumi. "You must've gotten all dolled up for me today. You wouldn't believe the vibes I'm feeling right now…"
Aelita and Ulrich both look angry towards him, the girl crossing her arms. "Hey, go back to being Jeremy, will you?" Yumi tells him backing up a bit.
"It's just that…whenever I see you, I don't feel like I'm myself" he smirks up at Yumi. She looks towards the others.
"Xana," Odd deduces, since Jeremy's not a flirt. He can't flirt to save his life. Besides, he would never flirt with Yumi. He charges towards Jeremy, who grabs him by the shirt and throws him into the machine. His drink finally arrives. "Hey cool."
The others surround him. Yumi's phone rings and she picks it up.
"Hello Yumi?" Jeremy says on the other side.
"She recoils back in shock to hear Jeremy's voice, despite him standing right in front of her. "Jeremy, but then…" Yumi starts to say as Jeremy appears on the screen and she looks up towards the other one.
"Well, what do you think of me guys?"
"Hold on, you mind explaining this?" Yumi says pointing to Jeremy 2.
"You mean you haven't figured out that I made a double of myself? A digital copy by activating a tower on Lyoko." Odd and Aelita join Yumi at her phone, looking between the two in awe. He's activated a tower in the desert sector. "This way. I can work on a program for crossing the digital sea and be at gym class at the same time."
"You might have warned us about it, Einstein" Odd says rubbing the back of his neck.
"Sorry guys, but I was in a hurry."
"Anyway, you oughta know that your double has gotta be about the biggest flirt I've ever met" Yumi tells him showing him the double.
"Very strange…," Jeremy says looking at his double leaning across the door, his glasses up. "Must be some kind of emerging quality that appeared unexpectedly. Anyway guys, I may not have a home run with it, but a double is still pretty good."
A's Point of View
A was back in the crater area of the volcano replica, ready for the next mission. "We're going to have to go a different route today. Give me your hand," Xana asks. A sticks out her hand and Xana infuses her with a strange energy. "This will allow you to do what I need you to do. Go teach Jeremy not to mess with the towers."
"With pleasure," A responds as she disappears. She then lands in the desert sector with three tarantulas. The three of them head off to the towers position. A spots it and uses the energy Xana gave her to take control of the tower. When it turns red, she smiles evilly and stops focusing on it. Within a few minutes it turns back green. "If that's the way you want to play, then let's do it." She goes back to focusing on the tower which turns back to red. It then turns back to green. "Fine, you want the tower, you'll need to get rid of me." A put a constant influence on the tower, so Jeremy can't take control.
Aelita's Point of View
The others of Aelita, William, Ulrich, and Yumi arrive at the scanners. He enters the virtualization code and everyone except Aelita to Lyoko. A scanner opens and she steps in. Jeremy then successfully virtualizes her to Lyoko. She lands and looks at the others. Ulrich a full yellow body suit with twin sabers. Yumi has been transformed into a more ninja type look. William was now in full armor, like a true warrior. They all looked at her with a bit of confusion. "What?"
"Aelita, you look like a lighter version of A" Yumi tells her.
"What?!" She looks over herself and notices she has all of A's features, but in all lighter colors, like an angel of light. "Jeremy, why did you do this?"
"Uh, I'll explain later. Right now, we have to stop A and deactivate the tower" Jeremy responds, trying to avoid telling Aelita why he did this as this was gonna be quite an explanation. They all take off.
A's Point of View
A notices the warriors approaching. "Good company. I was getting a little lonely." Ulrich jumps off his Overbike and it speeds towards A. She quickly activates her wings and takes flight. She lands after it hits a tarantula. "You'll have to do better than that."
Aelita's Point of View
The tarantulas fire at Yumi and Aelita and one laser manages to hit the Overwing. Yumi falls off and wings appear on Aelita's bike. "What? I'm flying?" She looks and notices the two pink wings. "Jeremy…don't tell me…"
"Sorry Aelita, but A having wings kinda gave me the idea that you should have them too" Jeremy responds.
"I guess they are pretty nice, but you and me are having a serious talk after this." She then notices Yumi falling towards the digital sea. Aelita flies down to her and grabs her, bringing her up to the platform.
A's Point of View
A notices Aelita flying. "So, she can finally fly now. This will be interesting."
"You want to get to her; you'll have to go through us first" Ulrich says as he and William stand in her way.
A starts to sing a sword form in her hand. "Let the duel begin!" A says as she gets in a fighting stance. The sword glowing a bright red.
The two try to double team her. Every move they make though she blocks and sparks fly between them. Ulrich tries to finish her and a holds him there. She pushes him back which sends him stumbling into William and both of them fall down. Unfortunately for William, with Ulrich on top of him he doesn't see A coming in for the kill. Ulrich moves but she devirtualizes William.
"Pretty sneaky there. Kick a man while he's down" Ulrich comments.
"Like you wouldn't do the same. One thing I learned, never let your enemy recover. Be faster and maybe you both would've survived" A responds.
Ulrich crosses his sabers. "Triplicate!" Two more Ulrich's appear and surround A. A just smirks and jumps up into the air slices all three in a 360.
"Why guess when I can take out all three?" A says as she heads to the tower's location. "Go on! Stop her!" She commands as the tarantula jumps onto the tower platform, now stopping Aelita from accessing it.
She sees Aelita come up from the canyon. She fires two energy fields. She destroy a tarantula, but A destroys the one heading for her. A sees head back to destroy the tarantula guarding the tower. She looks down and sees Yumi all alone. As Aelita enters the tower, she jumps down to meet Yumi. "Hello Yumi."
"A, stop! You don't want to do this!" Yumi tells her.
A closes her eyes and grips her sword in frustration. "You sound just like Jeremy, trying to run my life instead of live it the way I want too." She points the sword at Yumi's neck. "No one tells me what I do anymore!"
"Then what makes working for Xana any different?"
"He can try to act like the big boss, but he has no say in how I fight and how ruthless it is. My free will, my choice, my life." She pushes Yumi over the edge. Odd comes in and rescues Yumi and A sees this before she enters the digital sea and goes back to the volcano replica.
Aelita's Point of View
The group discusses the recent mission in the lab. "With A evolving and her advanced fighting skills, we're gonna have to develop new ways to combat her" Jeremy says.
"How? Every move we make, she counters or does it better. Whatever training she had, obviously hasn't been invented yet, so there's no way we can win" Ulrich retorts back.
"There's always a way to win. The more we battle her, the better we'll get because we'll know all her moves" William adds.
"Question is, how many times do we have to lose before we can start defeating her?" Yumi asks and everyone is silent, not knowing the answer.
Classes continue like normal for the ganga, but Jeremy still needs to have his conversation with Aelita and the two meet after classes are over. "So, Jeremy about my new angel avatar?" Aelita starts.
"I didn't mean to insult you or do anything that would harm you Aelita. A, being the future you, made me think, whether we knew her true identity or not, this was bound to happen."
"Well, I wasn't thinking about that. What I wanted to say is since our avatars are somewhat similar, A must have been the same in her past." They both think this over. "If she's a fallen angel now, does that mean she modified it herself."
"The supercomputer would already have her data recorded because of you. There is a good chance since I was able to change all your outfits."
"So, that brings up this question, is A good on the inside or is the darkness her true self?"
"Maybe we'll never know."
A.N. – And this ends this chapter. As you know, A's first defeat will come in Skidbladnir, so not that long. As for combo chapters, I'm not sure if there will be any this season.
