Chapter 59 Training for War (I'd Rather Not Talk About It)
A.N – Ok, so pretty much the same, except I won't be showing the tower scene, so the Lyoko scene will all be in sector five. Also, I will be doing a bonus chapter after Echoes to show all alternate scenes to chapters I cut in this as well as the reason it was cut.
Guest – It won't affect her timeline drastically. If someone else joined, then there could be some problems. Also, A's history is being rewritten, but all events that are gonna transpire will happen. If anything was disrupt that, she would make sure it doesn't happen.
Short Summary – Jeremy and the gang recruit Jim to help them train to have an upper hand on Xana and A. But when Xana attacks the same day, the Lyoko Warrior must put everything they learned to reach the factory to save Jeremy and Jim.

Aelita's Point of View
Aelita comes back from the shower and falls immediately onto her bed, exhausted. After discovering what Xana was planning on the network seemed to drive Jeremy insane. He believes that the group is not strong enough to stop Xana and starts training them to no end. Aelita grabbed her laptop to record her recent adventure.
We decided to investigate what Xana has been doing on the network since obtaining the keys with A's help. We discovered a virtual world similar to Lyoko. We call it a replica and all we know is this is allowing Xana to do something in the real world, a place we do not know. A also showed up to try to destroy the skid. Apparently, us finding Xana seemed to make him more upset. What's worse, Jeremy turned form our walking brain to drill sergeant. Sometimes, he makes it really difficult to love him. And this latest stunt of his takes the top spot. I'm just tired and confused right now. There's so much going on with and without me seeing that our hopes of saving A and destroying Xana seem entirely impossible.
Since Jeremy's boot camp of hell, the group thought they needed an expert to help them train better. Unfortunately for them, the only one who could help was Jim. They arrived and it became a worse experience then Jeremy's version.
"I have never seen a weaker pack of legless slugs in my life!" Jim shouts at all of them in the park. "1500 hours sharp does not mean 1502 or 1503!"
"Oh, we're not gonna split hairs over a few seconds, huh? On my watch-" Odd starts.
Jim leans in towards Odd, pointing a threatening finger at the boy. "Your watch doesn't watch with me Della Robbia! I give the orders around here, so straighten up! Okay, let's go, make our way to the combat clearing where we'll start with some basic training! Leg push-ups!"
They all start after him. After some running, they do some push-ups, which results in more running. After this all the members fail in some area of the training course, which looked like it was made for a simulated war situation. It was finally time to take a break, and this was a good opportunity for Jim to tell them all about his past life.
"Right. Well then, listen up. Exceptionally for you, I'll give you a quick rundown. It all began when I completed my training to become a physical education instructor. I was also a licensed scuba diver. And that's why the Marines recruited me for their special forces. NASA heard of me and since I was now a special forces diver, they had me test out their space suits underwater. So after having received a medal from the president, I was appointed to the secret service!"
A's Point of View
Unfortunately, Xana and A also take advantage of the opportunity. A lands in a platform in the core. The plan was to separate the warriors as much as possible by launching two simultaneous attacks. One in the core, and a tower on Lyoko. "I hope this works. Attack! Don't hold anything back!" The mantas start attacking.
Aelita's Point of View
Jim looks at his watch and sees the time for a break is over. He then took off in a run with the others following him. They all skid to a stop when a boar blocks their path.
"How about that! A wild pig!" Jim says.
"And it's huge!" Yumi states as they start to back away. "Let's go another way!"
"Hm? Oh, relax, it's nothing! I handled much worse than this when I was in Burma" Jim jerks a thumb to it.
The boar runs towards them, alarming them all. Jim tries to kick it, but the boar slides right past him. It charges at Jim, again, and he jumps out of the way. The pig opens his eyes…and then the sign of Xana appears.
"Did you see that!?" Ulrich asks.
"Yeah, trouble" William responds.
"Xana" Yumi adds.
"Jim, you need to take cover right now!" Ulrich warns.
"It's not a wild boar!" Aelita adds in.
"Right, like I said, it's just an overgrown pig, that's all," Jim dismisses the warnings. "Come to Jim, little piglet! Here, little piggy!"
"No, we're telling you Jim, we'd be much better off getting out of here!" Yumi says in worry, just as Jeremy arrives. The boar turns its attention on him instead.
"Look out Belpois!" Jim runs in and takes the hit for Jeremy, landing in a bush.
"Jim?" Jeremy rushes up to him. "Jim! Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah sure…how's the other guy?" Jim smiles weakly, turning his head away, meaning he's not fine. Jeremy looks over his shoulder as the boar is charging again. Ulrich and William pick up rocks and throw at the boar.
"Wow, great shot you two" Aelita says.
It looks towards the guys. "We'll keep it busy. You guys make a run for the factory. You ready William?" Ulrich instructs and asks.
The two run and Aelita and the others take off towards the factory. They eventually arrive and Aelita looks at the computer screen. "Oh no. Xana has also sent A and some mantas to the core chamber."
"Last time A was there it didn't end well for us" Odd reminds them.
"Well, failure isn't an option this time" Yumi responds.
"Get down to the scanners then. I'll virtualize you" Aelita tells them.
"What about you?"
"I'll manage alone."
"Not alone" Ulrich starts.
"You got two knights here to escort you to the tower" William finishes.
"We were able to get rid of the boar, but it went back for Jeremy. Xana is not letting this opportunity pass him by."
"He also sent A to the core, trying to stretch us thin," Aelita adds. Odd and Yumi head down to the scanners. "I'm gonna send you to sector five. Once you get there, I'll have your vehicles in the celestial dome waiting for you." She successfully virtualizes them into the arena. After she programs the Overwing and Overboard, she starts a self-delayed virtualization for her, Ulrich, and William.
"Where's the tower?" Ulrich asks before the scanners close.
"In the forest sector."
The three of them land and find the Overbike waiting for them. "You tow head off. I'll be close behind."
A's Point of View
A watches as the core is still under attack. She looks down and sees Odd and Yumi approaching. Some guests. Get rid of them!" Two manta fly down to attack the duo.
They jump up the steps to deal with the mantas. Odd backflips from a laser, landing on his knees as he jumps. "Whoa! Beware of falling objects!" Odd calls out. Yumi lands on a platform, Odd leaping up the stairs. Yumi pulls out her fans to absorb the lasers. Odd joins her and looks up. A sees this and growls. She backs up and then runs and jumps. While she is still in the air, she fires an orb at Odd. Odd blocks with his shield, but the orb breaks it and sends him flying back. "Whoa, A has new tricks."
"Don't forget, she is better fighter outnumbered. And who knows how many tricks she learned from her own time" Yumi says.
"Oh, you have no idea," A says as she lowers to the two with a manta at her side. "Fire!"
The manta fires and Yumi backflips out of the fire zone. She throws her fan and misses both the manta and A. A flies back up to the top of the chamber. "After that, we can't really afford to lose or get hit." She glance back towards the top and notices the shield starting to give away. "And we have to do it fast! The first shield layer is about go."
A hears Odd screaming and sees him flying up to their level. "Hey A! Laser arrow!" Odd knocks A down on her back and finishes his mantas. A gets back up.
"Energy field!" She fires a quick orb at Odd, which devirtualizes him. A activates her wings and flies down to Yumi's level as she destroys the last of the mantas. "Thinking of leaving already?" A says as she lands behind Yumi.
"Not at all," Yumi says as she puts her fans away. The two stare each other down. "I want to see how good you are. We are gonna fight."
A chuckles. "You're kidding right? My martial art skills outmatch your old skills."
"You don't know me as well as you claim. I don't kid."
"Aw come on Aunt Yumi? Aren't you gonna be a little nicer to me?" A taunts her.
"Aunt? I ain't your aunt!"
"After what happened in my time, you guys were my only family left." A runs at her. Yumi blocks all of A's strikes. Yumi manages to get a little counter on A making her skid back. "Impressive. I can see you can hold your own."
"Are you just testing me?"
"Maybe, maybe not? You'll just have to find out." The two continue to spar. A is able to grab Yumi's wrist when she tried to jab her. "Too slow." She punches Yumi in the stomach and releases her wrist. She then kicks her and Yumi goes rolling towards the edge. "Might as well face facts Yumi. You're no match for me unlike Aelita."
Yumi gets up and tells her to come and get her. A knew Yumi was planning something. She may be bold but not dumb. She smiles when she finds out. She decided to spring her trap. She runs at her. Yumi then runs at her. Yumi gets down and slides. A is able to avoid Yumi's move. Yumi launches a plan B. She throws her fan and hits A before she can recover. Yumi walks up and A comes in flying. A fires a quick orb and Yumi throws her fan one more time. "You're going down A!"
A avoids but Yumi uses her telekinesis to redirect the fan. When A notices, she is already hit and falls down, devirtualizing.
Yumi's Point of View
"That's skill A" Yumi comments as she waits for the mission to end.
Aelita's Point of View
Jim is walking around injured as he has a cane, but he'll eventually heal. The Lyoko Warriors notice him from the benches. He sees the group and smiles. Waving his cane. He hobbles over to them.
"Hey, you didn't do a return to the past," Yumi turns to Jeremy. "You sure Jim has forgotten everything?"
"Just the opposite, he remembers everything, and that's the best insurance that there is. To him, our wild boar was a crazy and dangerous animal, but a completely normal one."
"Oh, hello there Jim. We're glad to see you back on two feet again" Aelita greets politely.
"More like three, huh! But it's not too serious, just a bad sprain and a nasty bruise. I'll be as good as new two weeks' time" Jim informs them.
"For us, it's really a shame. Just one day of boot camp for two weeks of recovery!" Yumi points out.
"Oh, don't worry. That one day was very enlightening for me. You may not have been up to the commando level, but you showed great spirit. You really did! As soon as I am back in shape, I'll organize lots of other training sessions! And I hope to see you all there!"
"Um…" Aelita starts off nervously. After that one day, they weren't sure if they wanted to go through that again.
"Um…not me, I'm booked until the end of the year. I've got a… sleep session" Odd holds up a hand.
"Honestly Jim, it's too much of a…" Yumi starts.
"Honor" Ulrich starts.
"Yeah. We learned a lot from just one day with you" William finishes.
"I'll be there," Jeremy states. Everyone turns to Jeremy in surprise. "I owe you one Jim."
"Excellent Belpois!" Jim smiles at him. "I knew I could count on you kid." He waves to everyone before leaving.
"I must be dreaming," Odd turns to him. "I'll be there. Wow, you couldn't come up with a better answer than that! 'No' for instance or 'never' or 'nein' or 'nyet'!"
As Jeremy smiles, Aelita looks at him and thinks what is going on in his head right now.
A.N. – And that ends this chapter as well. Just like last time, Hot Shower will be skipped. If anything, it would have 85% carbon copy, due to half of the episode being in the digital sea. But I think Yumi and William's duel with A and Yumi's conversation with A will be much more enjoyable. PM me with story ideas! Review with questions or comments! I will respond!
