Chapter 66 Rise of a New Threat (Cold Sweat)
A.N. – So, this chapter is the beginning of end of Xana, and the light at the end of the tunnel for A and her journey. But before that, the Lyoko Warriors must face two challenges: A in the real world, and the Kolossus.
Short Summary – When the warriors arrive on a new replica, they encounter A at the hidden lab, and a brand new monster capable of defeating them in one hit.

Aelita's Point of View
Aelita and Jeremy are walking around looking at a picture of Yumi from when she was a kid. "The color doesn't suit her" Aelita says.
"Yeah, but then again, nothing really suits Yumi. Maybe straight black is the best look for her. Nothing flashy, simple" Jeremy responds.
"Speaking of, we should tell her about tonight" Aelita says as Yumi approaches, clearly embarrassed. They walk up to her.
"Are you okay Yumi?" Jeremy asks as he and Aelita approach her.
"You look upset, is anything wrong?" Aelita questions next.
"I really don't want to talk about it. What's happening?" She asks.
"We've just located a new replica in the network!"
"We're gonna destroy it tonight. See you at the factory later!" Jeremy explains as the bell rings.
"I'll be there" she gives a thumbs up. "I've got history now, see ya."
Jeremy pulls out his copy of the paper. "Let's face it, she does look awful in pink. Although the color really looks great on you Aelita."
The two blush at the statement.
Later that night, Jeremy is in the lab while the others are on the replica.
"It's okay Jeremy. The skid is docked" Aelita informs him.
"That's great," he smiles a bit. "I'll activate the tower." He taps enter as they're on an ice replica this time. The tower turns green, the skid docked to it. "Well, who's gonna be teleported tonight?"
"I vote for Yumi and Ulrich. They're good on missions."
"No way. I'll go with William before I go with that jerk" Yumi answers back.
"Odd we need to talk!" Ulrich says.
"Maybe later" Odd replies.
"Well William, want to go?" Jeremy asks.
"No, I'll stay here and fight. Knowing Xana, he's probably going to bring A and some monsters soon" William replies.
"Okay then. Odd, I'm sending you with Yumi."
"So, tell me Ulrich, why is Yumi mad with you?" Aelita asks him.
"Because of that picture I gave to Milly and Tamiya" Ulrich responds.
"That sounds more like the idiotic stunt Odd would pull" Jeremy says.
"Funny you should say that" Ulrich asks.
"Better take her out somewhere nice. This is worse then when you forgot her birthday" William says.
"Can it pretty boy!" Ulrich retorts back.
"Any ideas to get back on her good side?" Aelita asks.
"Tell her the truth."
A's Point of View
A was in the volcano replica, waiting to go through to confront Odd and Yumi. When she saw them she activated her Lyoko door and stepped through. She emerged on the ground floor of the laboratory. "Hey guys. Surprised to see me?" A asks.
"Jeremy, A's here!" Yumi replies.
"How is that possible? The tower on the ice replica is inactive" Jeremy replies.
"Forget about this" A says raising her arm with the bracelet.
"The Lyoko door. The thing that allows her to travel between Lyoko and the real world" Odd says.
"I should've realized. Now Xana doesn't have to worry about us deactivating the tower. You gotta defeat her" Jeremy says.
"That's easy. With our powers, she can't win" Yumi says.
"Then let me even the playing field" A says as she activates her Lyoko band and transforms into her fallen angel avatar.
"That may change things" Odd replies.
Yumi pulls out her fans as Odd fires a few arrows at her. She uses her sword to block them. "You'll have to do better than that. Remember, I know all your strategies." Odd fires one more arrow which hits her in the arm. She grabs it in pain. When her hand moves, Yumi notices a little blood coming out of the wound.
"Odd, we need to be careful. Our attacks could kill her" Yumi says as Odd also sees the wound he inflicted.
'Damn. I forgot that all damage is real and not fake here' A thinks.
The two decide to use A's injury to run past her. A uses her powers to lock the door.
"Jeremy, A has locked the door!" Yumi glares at him.
"Don't panic, I'll take care of the door in no time," he replies as he works on the door. "Okay, I just have to crack the code for the electromagnetic lock. Can you hold on that long?"
"We'll try" Yumi states. A approaches them.
"Laser arrow!" Odd fires.
"Odd, no!" Yumi tackles him. A dodges before the arrow can hit her in the face.
"Yumi, what are you doing?"
"Stopping you from killing her. We need to save her, not hurt her.
"Funny, cause I think she wouldn't mind hurting us."
A walks up to them.
"There you go!" Jeremy taps the enter button. "Open sesame guys."
The door opens for them, and they step backwards. "Nice work Einstein," Odd comments as they step into the hallway. "Laser arrow!" He hits the lock, trapping A, inside the room.
A blasts the doors open shortly after and goes to find the two lost warriors. She enters the room they went in. "Round two" she draws her saber.
"She never gives up!" Yumi exclaims. "Jeremy, A is here!"
"I know, but I don't know how to get rid of her" Jeremy says.
A swings her saber, trying to defeat the two. "Looks like those combos Ulrich taught you did nothing" Odd comments as he lands behind her. She elbows him taking him down.
"He didn't teach me everything" A puts the blade to his neck. She was about to finish him, when Yumi throws her fan, hitting the sword and dislodging it from her hand. Odd then kicks her when she's distracted and goes back to Yumi.
"Jeremy, any ideas would be helpful!" Yumi pleas.
"Yeah, don't lose!" Jeremy replies.
A fires an energy orb at Yumi and she gets teleported back. "Yumi!" A stabs Odd through the back and he is also teleported back.
"Too easy" she opens a door back to the volcano replica and steps through.
"Wonderful. You actually managed to stop their little destruction mission" Xana praises her.
"I'm not bad in all areas. And also I learned a thing or two" A replies and smiles, knowing she has a way out.
Aelita's Point of View
The three are outside the skid and see both Yumi and Odd back in the skid. "Jeremy, the two have returned, Should we abort the mission?" Aelita asks.
"Yeah, it was a complete failure. Get ready to embark" Jeremy says. "Wait! Xana seems to be drawing energy from all the replicas."
"Why is he doing it?" Aelita questions curiously.
"I wish I knew…"
Her question is answered a few seconds later as there's a big thump. They look at their feet and it happens again.
"What was that?" Ulrich asks.
"I have no idea," Aelita answers him, and it happens a third time. Suddenly a monster made out of volcanic rock and lava steps in. She glances at her brother. "What's that noise?"
A's Point of View
"Come here and see this" Xana says as A walks over and sees Xana's newest creation. "This little monster will make sure we get no more trouble from the warriors."
Aelita's Point of View
"It's coming from behind us" William says as they turn around to see it.
"That's incredible" Ulrich says.
"Guys! I'm getting something on my screen! What is it?" Jeremy asks.
"A walking volcano" William replies.
"A what?"
"Jeremy, we got a new monster to deal with and he's gigantic!" Ulrich says with fear at Xana's monsters for the first time.
"How do go about fighting it?" William asks.
"For now, just run!" Jeremy suggests.
Aelita tries to fire a few orbs at it, but they don't even phase it. The sword arm swings down and takes them out in one hit.
A's Point of View
"Oh my god…" A responds, reminded of the time it took her out.
"Now for the real prize" Xana says as the vison of the monster looks towards the skid, and it approaches.
Aelita's Point of View
"Jeremy, Xana has created a new kind of monster!" Aelita reports to him. "And he's gigantic! He could destroy the skid in a fraction of a second! Better get Odd and Yumi out of there fast!"
"On it" Jeremy replies.
A's Point of View
A watches as the skid disembarks and flies away. The monster tries to destroy it but misses. The skid escapes into the digital sea. Xana was silent.
"They will come back" A tells him.
"Yes, and next time they won't be so lucky" Xana responds.
Aelita's Point of View
"I wonder what Odd is gonna call this" Ulrich asks as he, William, and Aelita are back in the lab.
A few moments later, Yumi and Odd are there with them. "Hm. The Kolossus, with a k, like in KO."
"Don't know who's gonna get KO'd, but the name suits him."
"We'll never make it now. Soon as we step foot on a replica, he'll be there to devirtualize us before we can say Lyoko" Yumi points out.
"One thing is for sure, we gotta change our strategy. Because right now, Xana controls hundreds of supercomputers all over the world. We'll never be able to destroy all of them…" Jeremy rubs his chin as he thinks.
"So, no chance of destroying all of them to rescue A huh?" Aelita asks.
"No, but we have to find a way to destroy Xana faster now. If we can complete a program, we can free A."
The next morning, there's a newspaper out. "Get your Kadic News here! Extra!" Tamiya exclaims, waving a paper.
"The Kadic News: How to be first in line for your medical check-up, another easy, quick recipe- liverwurst pancakes, and an exclusive picture of Odd Della Robbia and Ulrich Stern, that you're definitely not going to wanna miss!" Milly announces as they walk by.
"What, did you photoshop this thing?" Jeremy looks up as they're in the courtyard.
"No way, I took it when they were coming out of the shower" Yumi replies.
"You told me to tell her, didn't you?!" Odd says, running away.
"I'm going to kill you!" Ulrich threatens him.
"So, do you think you can actually defeat Xana?" Aelita asks Jeremy.
"It's a long shot, but he isn't invincible. He's gotta have a weakness. Once we find it, defeating him will be a piece of cake" Jeremy responds.
"But my father couldn't do it."
"Your father kept Xana to satisfy his own needs. By the time Xana became useless to him, he evolved so much that stopping him was impossible. We can do this Aelita. After all this time from me finding you in Lyoko to now, we can finally put this behind us."
"What about A?"
"We'll save her. We have to. As much as she betrayed us, she still is a friend from the future."
Little did they know, A didn't need their help. Her plan was proceeding smoothly. Just two more missions to correct her mistake.
A.N. – A little on the short side with both the fight, but the fight wasn't that long on the show either. I would have skipped this episode, but this leads into the next episode. Sorry for the delay on this. The site's DNS server went down, and it just came back. Next time, A escapes Xana's clutches and Jeremy and Aelita look for data to destroy Xana.
