Lincoln remembered the whole event as if it had only happened yesterday, although in reality; it had happened last week.
What event was he exactly talking about? He is talking about the day everything had changed in his town of Royal Woods.
It had happened just after the day he came back home from his big adventure of traveling through the multiverse. He had returned to his room after the pizza party at Jimmy's Lab, where he had never felt so happy to be back home in his life.
The very first thing he did upon getting back home was taking off that watch and promptly returning it back to Lisa's room as he had just about enough of jumping through different worlds for one lifetime, thank you very much.
After returning the watch. Lincoln then simply spent the rest of the day in his house with a happy smile for after nearly having your whole world destroyed by a red giant. You learn to appreciate it more.
His family were a bit puzzled on why he was suddenly so happy, but they pretty much deduced that he either has gotten a new comic book or beaten a tough video game as both of those events usually brought him so much joy. Although; they did pick up the slight scent of pizza in his breath, which is odd as when did he eat pizza?
Despite the puzzled looks from his family. Lincoln continued to have a bright smile throughout the rest of the day and well into the night, where he dreamed up of a space battle, tubes filled with trapped ghosts, a massive ship being torn apart by explosions, then the pizza party with SpongeBob going around town with his hips.
If only he knew what the next day would bring.
It happened in the early hours of five in the morning. Everyone in town is fast asleep as the dark sky slowly began to light up from the rising sun.
The only ones awake at this time were animals, who were all acting strangely as they all sensed that something big was coming, something that caused some of them to go and hide somewhere safe.
Then at approximately 5:30. A low rumble began as slight vibrations started to shake any water in either fountains, lakes, creeks, or in glasses; such as the glass of water that held Scoot's teeth beside her bed.
Steadily; the vibrations grew stronger causing small furniture to move, loosen up rocks on slopes, and caused a whole number of animals to begin panicking.
It wasn't until the shaking had reached its strongest point was when everyone woke up; startled, afraid, and confused on what was happening.
"Whoa! What the?!" Sitting up in his shaking bed. Lincoln watches in panic as all of his things on the shelves, fell to the floor right along with some of his orange shirts. He himself was then thrown to the floor, which really hurt upon him landing on top of some of his stuff.
Panic-stricken adrenaline however helped him ignore some of the pain as he shakily got up to his feet and steadily reached for his door, where upon coming out into the hallway, he saw some fallen picture frames, broken vases, and a knocked over potted plant.
His sisters have also came out of their rooms. All afraid, or in Lucy's case, her usual deadpanned demeanor.
"What's going on?" Lori spoke up as she, like the rest of her siblings, tried to stay up on her feet.
"Earthquake!" Lynn shouted, practically in Lucy's ears.
"An earthquake in Michigan? Not impossible, but one of this scale? Very unlikely." Lisa however deducted while holding a crying Lilly.
"Oh yeah! Because I'm sure this is nothing more but a giant worm moving around!" Lola sarcastically remarked, invertently getting her twin excited. "If it is, I call on naming it!"
"Kids! Kids! Are you alright up there!" Their dad called up from downstairs.
"I would make a pun out of this, but we're on the rocks up here!" Luan answered before falling to the floor.
"You okay dude?" Luna asked as she helped her sister back up.
"Not really." Luan groaned for she had fallen right on some jax.
"Kids come downstairs quickly!" Their mother cried as when there's an earthquake, it's best to be down on the first floor.
However getting downstairs was more easier said than done for with all this intense shaking. Going down them was outright impossible without tripping or falling down them, while picture frames fell on top them. Reaching the bottom, they were all in a massive pileup, all groaning with several slight scratches and small bruises throughout their bodies.
"Kids!" Rushing over to them in concern, their parents grabbed ahold of the ones on top of the big pile up, and helped them back up as they themselves tried stay upright. "Is everyone okay?"
"Could be better." Lori groaned for she had been unfortunate to be at the bottom of this pile up.
Getting all back up by now. They helplessly watched as some of the bricks on the fireplace fell with some more picture frames crashing to the floor, right along with their television and other items.
"Family. I highly suggest we take shelter in my fallout bunker. It's reinforced titanium walls can withstand against the tremors." Lisa urgently suggested.
"To the fallout shelter!" Lynn Sr. declared, and with that; the family struggled to make their way over to the back door as even more of their stuff and furniture fell all around them. Including the fridge that nearly crashed right on top of the twins, if it didn't slightly turn on it's trajectory at the last minute.
Coming out of the house at last. They are met with the sounds of car alarms blaring, the ground shifting, animals crying out in terror, and people screaming. It felt like the end of the world, especially with the flashing lights of power poles coming down or the backyard tree crashing down, completely crushing parts of the fence.
Finally; they reached the fallout shelter, where after Lisa opened it up by putting in the access code, they all climbed into it and huddle themselves together as the hatch automatically shut with a hiss.
Outside the bunker. The ground continued to shake for approximately ten minutes before outright stopping after a sudden flash of light appeared in the sky, brightening it up like a hundred bolts of lightning. Bringing in something the Loud's would find out about later in the morning for with the fear of aftershocks coming, they stayed put in the safety of Lisa's fallout shelter.
The unexpected earthquake left behind severe damage throughout several areas of the town. Most of them were from fallen trees and power poles, damaged pipelines, shifted and cracked roads, and a collapsed water tower that spilled gallons of water in a small field turning it all muddy.
It was just very lucky that only a few buildings had suffered from collapse, while the majority of them only suffered from interior damage that can be fixed within time.
Their house had gotten this fate, but with the help of Lana's building, plumbing, and handyman skills, Lynn's strength, Lisa's intelligence, and good old fashioned Loud teamwork. They managed to repair their house in no time, complete with new furniture and a new TV to boot. They are very proud of their handiwork as their house never looked better, they even managed to fix the issue with the loose doorknobs.
And with them being done with the overall repairs of the house. The whole family can now just sit back, relax, and watch the afternoon news for with how scary the earthquake had been. They were all very interested on what the quake had brought into their town. Something that defies all explanation and logic for normally when it comes to large earthquakes, you picture devastated neighborhoods, not a brand new one that had been dropped down in Ketcham Park.
Yeah seriously. A full fledge neighborhood had appeared from absolute nowhere. It's such a shocker, that not even Lisa could figure out on how an entire neighborhood could appear after an earthquake. All they can do is slowly accept that it did happen and watch for updates on this new, mysterious neighborhood.
Switching on the TV. The first thing they saw is Katherine Mulligan overlooking the neighborhood in the News helicopter. The neighborhood itself; is a cul-de-sac with a trailer park not so far away from it. The cul-de-sac really stood out amongst the remaining parts of the park with its street practically at the edge of the lake. Something Lana is not so keen about as it's way too close to some of her animal friends homes, it probably destroyed some of their homes already.
"Hello this is Katherine Mulligan, and I'm currently sitting in the News copter, overlooking the neighborhood that has mysteriously appeared after last week's earthquake. Scientists; along with other top minds have no idea on how this could've even happened, with some are even saying that a tear in the universe must've happened to make it appear in our town."
"From some investigations, we have confirmed that the neighborhood does have inhabitants living in it, but all of them are children, who all are confused and scared, but are all seemly, slowly adapting into their sudden new home."
Looking out the helicopter window, Katherine motions for the camera to look out as well. When it did, three figures can be seen standing in the middle of the cul-de-sac. "There's some of them now and they seem to be looking up at us."
Down on the ground; Ed, Edd N Eddy observed the overhead helicopter flying above them with Ed happily waving at it, Double Dee closely observing the news logo on the side, and Eddy wondering if he is looking good on camera for his face was made for TV.
"Look at that boys. We are finally the stars of the show."
"Eddy. Aren't you at least bit concern that the entire cul-de-sac has been uprooted from the ground up and then dumped in an entirely different world? Separating us from our families." Double Dee question with worry over this whole strange situation that teleported him away from his dearest mother and father.
It had happened all at once. Both he and Ed were in Eddy's room, listening to one of the newest scams Eddy had came up with. Then without warning, a thunderstorm came in and brought them all over to this place. A place somewhere in Michigan judging by the surrounding flora and geographic of the land.
"It's the wormhole from the alien potatoes movie! They brought us here to feast on our internal organs with a side of gravy!" Ed fearfully stated for it's the only logical explanation.
Ignoring Ed's comment. Eddy only saw this as an opportunity for upon doing some exploring around their new area, he only saw chickens right for the taking. "Chill sockhead. Don't you see the opportunity here?"
"Opportunity? Oh Eddy. Surely you aren't thinking up of a scheme during this crucial time of being trapped in another world." Placing a hand on his forehead, Double Dee knew he shouldn't have questioned it. Of course Eddy was thinking of a scheme, he just couldn't resist it.
"Don't you see? New world, new suckers. I mean scamming the same old kids every time gets so boring, so what better way to spice things up around here than with some new pigeons." Plus; it should be way more easier to make some cash here.
"And what pray tell; do you exactly have in mind Eddy?"
"Oh! Oh! Oh! I know! I know!" Ed pipped up with his hand raised up straight, while bouncing up and down in excitement. "Let's do a butter toast store." He can practically taste it now.
"You'll just end up eating the whole stock lumpy. We need to do something better than that stupid idea, and I know just the thing." With a brand new scam in mind, Eddy rushes off to begin it with Double Dee and Ed right behind him.
They pass by Rolf's house, where currently; he was in the backyard farm, dealing with some unwanted pests inside his shed.
"Johnny the wood boy! Rolf has told you many times not to enter Rolf's shed without Rolf's permission! Now you must be punished!" Swinging his rake around as he chased after Johnny, who he had caught trying to steal his saw. They run around the shed.
"It's not my fault! Plank told me that you were going to hurt an innocent log with that saw!" Ducking, he nearly gotten hit by the rake that instead struck against a bale of hay, spilling it everywhere.
Having an opening, Johnny runs for the exit. Only for Rolf to throw his rake, striking him in the legs, which tripped him up before getting tackled into a fight cloud with fists and legs coming out everywhere. This beating would've continued, if it weren't for the timely arrival of Kevin and Nazz.
"Hey Rolf?" Kevin spoke up.
Being addressed, Rolf stops his attack on Johnny, who had bumps all over his face as well as a fresh black eye. "Oh! Ho! Kevin-boy and go, go Nazz-girl. What brings you over to Rolf's?"
"We're going to go around the new neighborhood." Nazz happily answered.
"Yeah. If we're going to be stuck in these new digs. We might as well look around for potential new hangout spots, since we have lost our old ones." Which is a serious bummer because now he and Nazz have to find out on which spots are good or bad, and being within an entirely new area. They may get themselves lost or run into people who may get their kicks on beating up kids just like those dreaded Kanker sisters.
"So you wanna come with us Rolf?" Nazz asked.
"You want Rolf; the son of a shepherd to go galloping around in unfamiliar territory?"
"Is that a no then?" Nazz asked for that sounded like a no.
"Of course I'll come! It's not the first time Rolf has been brought to an unfamiliar land." He cheerfully replied.
"Plank and I want to come to." Johnny spoke up in excitement, despite the pain burning through him from the beating caused by Rolf's hands. "Plank would love to meet our new neighbors."
"Alright then. Let's get going." Kevin stated and all together, they left Rolf's backyard, exited out of the cul-de-sac and headed straight for the east side of town. In the back of his mind, Kevin knew that dork, dork, n dorky were most likely exploring the place as well, just to find potential places to run their lame scams.
Hopefully; they won't run into them for with all the stress of entering into an unfamiliar world. The last thing he needs is one of their scams to ruin his day.
Stepping out of the cracked edges of the cul-de-sac themselves; Sarah and Jimmy made their way over to the park's playground.
It wasn't exactly like their old one, but it was still a nice park to play in as there are many things for them to do here, but what the two friends have eventually decided to do was play in the sandbox to make a nice, pretty sand castle.
Sitting down, Sarah began to collect a pile of sand, before looking over to her best friend who is visibly nervous as his eyes darted around at the unfamiliar buildings close by. "What's the matter Jimmy?"
"I don't like this Sarah. Suddenly dropping into another world. It's very scary for what if we don't see our families ever again?" That's a very scary thought for what are they going to do without their parents to take care of them?
"Don't worry Jimmy. If there's a way in here, there's gotta be a way out of here." Besides; it's not like this is the first time they don't have their parents around. They are a bunch of free ranging kids after all.
"Do you really think so Sarah?" He would really love to get back to their own home town.
"I think so. Now come on. Let's make the biggest sand castle in the world." Piling up a round of sand, she begins to sculpt it into the first tower.
Still hesitant over their new surroundings, Jimmy moves much more slower as he helped out Sarah with the tower.
He really hopes that the people here were friendly.
Watching the news from their TV. May Kanker happily points at their trailer amongst all the other trailers of the Park and Flush. "Look girls! Our trailer is on TV!"
"Too bad the host is a complete washout!" Marie teased as she threw a round of popcorn at the TV displaying Katherine Mulligan.
"Washout." Lee chuckled. "Good one Marie."
Continuing to watch the news, the Kanker sisters much like everyone else from Peach Creek; were very alarmed to be in an entirely different area. How they got here is a mystery for all they could remember was a bright, sunny day before large, swirling clouds came in with a bunch of lighting bolts flashing out of them before a blinding light appeared from ground level and brought them all over to this Michigan town.
A very strange phenomenon that none of the Kankers could figure out, but on the bright side. They now have a lot of brand new kids to "have fun" with, and with the cul-de-sac here. It means that their boyfriends were here to, which will make this place even more fun.
"So girls. You ready to look around the area?" Lee asked for she was hankering to find some spots for them to hangout at with the extra added thrill of messing with any small kids they came across.
"Later. I'm busy watching TV." Switching the channel, Marie stopped in interest upon seeing a show called; "The Dream Boat"
That is until May took the remote right out of her hand and flipped the channel over to Dessert Storm.
"Hey! I was watching that buck teeth!"
"That show's boring. Let's watch this." May retorted before getting punched on the head and then having the remote snatched from her.
Switching back over to Dream Boat, Marie doesn't have time to enjoy it for May suddenly pushed her onto the floor, takes back the remote and switched it back to Dessert Storm.
Sure enough. A big fight erupted out with the two sisters with punches, kicks, and slamming into walls coming out of it. All the while Lee switched the TV on over to something she likes.
But while Royal Woods suddenly had a brand new neighborhood to contend with. Great Lake City in the meantime; had one of their parks replaced by an entirely new, but bigger park with a blue house right in the middle of it, and unlike the cul-de-sac which brought normal children with it. This park brought only two humans, while the rest was a bluejay, raccoon, yeti, a ghost, and a walking, talking gumball machine.
Also unlike Royal Woods, which had suffered from an earthquake prior to the cul-de-sac appearing. The city was hit by a big storm with hurricane-like winds, and flash flooding in several areas of the city.
The storm has left behind several areas damaged, but they will be repaired within time and is by far less interesting than the new park that just so happens to land right near Ronnie Anne's building.
She and all of her family have been safely inside their home during the big storm that forced them all to huddle themselves in the apartment's hallway, so that they would avoid the windows that had shattered from the fierce winds. It had been a dreadful night with all of them not being able to sleep, thanks to those blowing winds that made it feel like the whole building was going to be torn apart.
When the storm finally passed, the early morning light started up a brand new day. They were all utterly exhausted, so exhausted; Rosa couldn't fix up any breakfast or that when they finally went back into their individual apartments, they went straight to bed and slept all the way into the late afternoon.
Once fully up and recharged, they took an assortment of the damage to the areas where the windows have blown in. It was mainly very wet and a bunch of rubbish that have blown in through the windows, it was a mess that they all certainly needed to clean up.
Before they could however, it had been CJ who had happily pointed out the new park across the street.
Ever since then. They; along with everyone else in the building have cleaned up the mess left behind from the storm and kept wide away from the new park for with the talking animals, a green man with his ghost companion by his side, yeti wearing jeans, and gumball machine. Rosa feared that they were evil spirits that are all waiting to drag them all down into the firey underworld.
Now Ronnie Anne doesn't believe in that whole drag her into the underworld stuff, but she still kept away from the park for a park filled with those characters walking around is very weird. Leading up to today as she and her best friend Sid, stood with their skateboards in front of the bodega, staring out to the park.
"Man. It's too bad we can't go to the park. I'm getting really tired of skating on the sidewalk." Sid complained for doing it on the sidewalk can be extremely limited with the crowds of people hogging up most of the limited space.
"I know Sid. We can't pull off our usual tricks with the gang and the other parks are way too far for us to get to. If only those weirdos weren't running around in there, we could actually have some fun skating; as I bet this park has several great spots." From her apartment view, Ronnie Anne saw several large areas to roll around in and pipes to grind on. She knows this as she has seen a golf cart doing those things, which is astonishing for who knew a golf cart could do those sort of things.
"Tell me about it. You know what I saw yesterday?" Sid proclaimed.
"What you see?"
"I saw that guy with the green skin, spinning his shirt above his head." The memory made her shiver as that guy is certainly someone you don't want to see with their shirt off.
"Ugh" Ronnie Anne cringed in disgust for now she has that nasty image in her head. "I need some chips after visioning that. You want some? It's my treat."
"Sure. My chip tank needs to be refilled." Jokingly holding her tummy, the two friends laughed as they then head into the bodega. Shortly afterwards; Mordecai and Rigby pulled up to the curve in the cart.
Having been dumped into a new world, they unfortunately have lost the usual store where they got snacks at. So in order to fill in their needs for snacks, they've been looking around the area for a store with affordable snacks. By this point, with much of the snacks back at the house about to run out, they really hoped that this will be the place to get some.
"Ugh! Five stores and all of them have expensive snacks! How do they have the nerve to charge up five dollars for a bag of chips!" Rigby whined.
"Don't worry dude. Look at that sign on the window." Mordecai stated as he pointed to a sign that says chips and soda for half priced.
"Aw yeah! Chips and soda for affordable prices!" High-fiving each other, the two jumped out of the cart and raced themselves into the store.
Looking through the aisle for their favorite chips. Both Ronnie Anne and Sid glanced up to the opening door and froze upon seeing Mordecai and Rigby rush on in and head straight for the chips.
They couldn't believe it. The talking bluejay and raccoon are standing in the bodega and are apparently looking for chips just like them. This was very surreal.
As for the two park workers. They don't even notice the two girls as they scanned around for any chip flavors that will satisfy their snack cravings.
"How about these ones?" Picking up some spicy flavored chips, Rigby closely inspected the volcano mascot blowing his top off. These looked cool.
Mordecai however wasn't so sure. "Spicy chips? Are you serious Rigby? I mean last time you ate some spicy chips. You were whining on how hot they were and drank a whole gallon of water." It had been funny to watch, but he really didn't feel like watching all that again.
"What? You saying that I can't handle any spicy stuff?" Rigby retorted.
"That's exactly what I'm saying dude." He replied.
Narrowing his eyes, Rigby wasn't going to have his friend treat him like a chump, when it comes down to spicy foods. "Hmmp, hmmp. I'll show you, who can't handle spicy foods." Grabbing several more bags of the spicy chips, Rigby rushes off to get some soda.
"Alright. Just don't start whining, when your mouth starts burning. I'm not going to feel sorry for you." Grabbing ahold of some barbecue chips, Mordecai goes off to get his own soda.
Silently listening to the whole conversation, the two girls looked to each other briefly before going over to the end of the aisle to quietly watched the two pick up separate packs of soda cans, then made their way on over to the counter where for the entire time, Bobby had been replacing stock on the bottom shelves.
Hearing customers approaching, he automatically raises up to greet them, only to freeze in surprise, when he saw on who exactly he was ringing up.
"Hey dude." Mordecai greeted as he and Rigby placed their things on the counter.
Not sure what to say, other than his customer service kicking in. Bobby quickly scanned up their items. "Hey. Um, fellas. That'll be four dollars and ninety nine cents."
Handing him the money, Bobby puts their items in some bags and then handed the bags over to them. That was when a walkie talkie turned on. "Mordecai. Rigby. Where are you?"
Picking up the walkie talkie from who knows where, Mordecai answers the call. "Oh hey Benson. We were just getting some snacks."
"Snacks?! I told you two slackers to help out Muscle Man and High-Five Ghost with the fallen down trees."
"Yes, but you see Benson. The snacks back at the house are basically gone at this point, and we can't run properly without them."
"I don't care! Get back here and do your job or you're fired!" Signing off with a hiss, both Mordecai and Rigby groaned for so much for their snack break.
"Bosses. Am I right man." Rigby remarked to Bobby, who just remains silent for he doesn't understand why they're complaining. If they are supposed to be at work, then they need to be at work.
They then went out of the bodega, where shortly afterwards Ronnie Anne and Sid rushed over to the door and watched as the two got back into the cart, spun around a bit, then head back towards the park.
"Did that just happened?" Ronnie Anne questioned for surely she had just imagined those two coming in here and buying not only chips, but soda to.
"I know right. That raccoon guy is going to be feeling the heat." Sid had those chips before and she vividly remembers on how her mouth felt like it touched the surface of the sun.
Glancing to her friend briefly for not noticing the much bigger picture. Ronnie Anne looks back to the park, where the cart carrying those two is fading away as they turn a corner. It was definitely telling that things have changed around the neighborhood, when a walking, talking bluejay and raccoon comes into your family's bodega and buys things.
From what she can tell by their personalities. They did look like cool guys, but it'll be sometime before she regains the confidence to head into that park, which will hopefully be soon as she really wants a skating area to roll around in.
Until then. She has to settle with the busy sidewalk.
