The New Cop:
In Royal Woods it was a great day, and Lincoln and his friends, Clyde, Stella, Rusty, Liam, and Zach were going to Ketcham Park to play basketball.
Lincoln: So, who are the teams in this 3-on-3 game?
Clyde: (raises his hand) I'm on Lincoln's team!
Zach: Well, Stella is very competitive as well.
Stella: Yeah, just think what I could do on the court!
Rusty: I would like to be on who I think is the better team.
Liam: I'd like to show you all a great dribble I've been working on. Lincoln, could you pass the ball over here, please?
Lincoln: Alright, Liam, here you go.
Lincoln passed the ball to Liam... who just missed catching it. It bounced into the street... but a nearby police officer kicked it up and caught it. The officer went to Lincoln and his friends with the ball, and says, 'You guys might want to be careful with this.' As Lincoln took the ball, he saw that the officer looked familiar. She had on a blue police uniform with a orange and yellow police vest, and had her purple hair completely tied up in the back, and green eyes...
Lincoln: (recognizes the officer) Zeta St. Clair?
Zeta: (takes another look at Lincoln) Lincoln Loud?
The gang then sees who the officer was...
Liam: Zeta's a cop?
Clyde: I never expected this.
Lincoln: Hello, Zeta. I was wondering if I would get to see you again after the music festival.
Zeta: (smiling) Well, Lincoln, I believed I'd come across you again eventually, and here you are.
Clyde: What are you doing here, in Royal Woods?
Zeta: I've lived here for the past month, working as a meter maid for the Royal Woods Police Department.
Liam: Whoa!
Rusty: And you went through all the police training?
Zeta: (nods) It was hard at first, but soon, I understood what I had to do, and passed all those tests.
Stella: How's your family doing, Zeta?
Zeta: We just moved here from Mesa, Arizona, for my new job. Marlin's at home right now, with my son Morain just starting preschool.
Lincoln: Well, that sure will be fun for Morain.
Zach: Could you please show us what you do?
Liam: Of course. Come follow me.
Zeta, Lincoln, and his friends walked a short distance to a street corner, where a gray car was parked by a parking meter...
Zeta: Everyone, watch that parking meter. In about a minute, a clicking sound will happen.
The kids waited, and a minute later, a click on the meter showed a red sign that said, 'Time Expired.'
Liam: What happens now?
Zeta: (looks at her watch) I wait for one minute exactly, to see if the owner of this car shows up.
Everyone then stood on the sidewalk, and exactly one minute later, Zeta wrote a ticket, and placed it on the car's windshield.
Zeta: If the person who owns the vehicle doesn't come back within that minute, I wrote that person a ticket for having their vehicle parked here past the point where their time expired.
The sorcerenie cop and the kids walked a bit further down the street...
Clyde: Zeta, how are you enjoying being a meter maid for the police department?
Zeta: It's okay. This does mean that I get to come home to my husband and son early, who really need me to protect and love them.
Rusty: Are you hoping to be allowed to help in any cases that could happen in the future?
Zeta: I would like to, but I'd have to talk with the chief first.
Lincoln: Do you use any 'special powers' on the job?
Zeta: Not unless I need to. (chuckled a bit)
Soon everyone arrived at Ketcham Park...
Zeta: Be careful when you're playing, alright?
Stella: We will.
Lincoln and his friends into the park, while Zeta walked off, to get back to doing her job as a meter maid. While the gang were going to the basketball court, a conversation happened...
Zach: Wow, could Zeta report any suspicious actions she finds out about?
Lincoln: What do you mean, Zach?
Zach: I mean, would she tell the higher ranked cops in the force if she sees any shady bad guys?
Lincoln: It's very likely she will.
Clyde: Yeah, and even then, the other cops would know about them anyway, since they've been on the force for longer.
Stella: Anyway, I'm sure Zeta's gonna do a great job.
Rusty: Yes, she sure looks dedicated to her job.
Liam: And you've got a new ally to help you and your sisters watch over Royal Woods, Lincoln.
Lincoln: I'll certainly ask the force if they'll let Zeta assist in any of our cases.
The gang got to the court, then played some basketball against each other.
