Basic talks, sufficient to build some degree of trust, had taken some few minutes, thought it felt like hours as Tarvek now sat on the stone bench, flanked by Janet and Mayuko. Across from them sat the orc warchief, Thrall, and the human Mage-Lord, Proudmoore, the sun shining brightly from a clear sky above the exposed circular garden structure. Guards, for both, were further back, glaring and being wary, despite the fact their superiors seemed to be on friendly terms. Still, it was going better than he'd have hoped considering two armed camps, and an undead army under a Lich warlord trying to take over the world; the leader of the Horde wasn't outright hostile after all.

"What do you want then?"

Not exactly overly friendly and welcoming either, but Tarvek preferred directness in such negotiations as the other orcs spoke/demanded "To explore for a portal nexus, whereupon we would travel from should it be safe. To bar it closed should it be dangerous. Thy world is dimensionally active. So, freedom to travel through lands, Alliance and Horde, and hire guards too most likely. To protect against bandits…and undead"

Tarven paused, shrug "In short, as has been discussed with Lady Proudmoore, a Workshop and Study, with maps and various literature, alone with aid of scholars, to try locating such portals. Also so armour can be forged by myself for mine companions, or weapons and tools in trade if required"

"That I have been willing to grant him, but not till we had discussed the matter" the Mage-Lord interjected with a firm nod, glancing at the warchief "While it is a matter for the Alliance, and others will wish to speak to our new friends here, I would not make it without your agreement. In the interests of peace. Something we badly need with the mutual threat facing our peoples"

"Threats perhaps, for what words warrior Tav here brings are not encouraging" the warchief said, but seemed to agree, hands on his knees, frowning and thinking clearly enough "For several reasons"

"That we hid away?" Tarvek asked "Or the words of other powers beyond?"

"Yes, just because I understand why you did so, and Jaina has been accepting of your spying within her city, does not mean we should be happy that outsiders are scouting Kalimdor, and perhaps Azeroth as a whole" he paused, nodding "Nor the dragons, and the Lich King, interfering. Those matters concern me, and while I am interested in what tales you bring of our people from other stars….I also aware it will not be greeted by the Horde entire with such goodwill. Nor…"

He looked at the human female "Nor will all of your Alliance be so enamoured"

"Haaaa…I am aware, with other bridges I have burned before not aiding such a task" the wizard said with an unhappy tone, trying not to show it clearly, but failing as she'd sighed before catching herself "But simply pretending such things do not exist will benefit us naught. Now we have more than just the Lich King to be concerned about. Oh, yes, he remains the gravest and most current threat now, but it is clear he is the sole such one we must face in the future"

The warchief nodded, then looked stoically at Tarvek "Not that I am convinced your people, an alliance of many worlds, are not such a threat either"

"That is perfectly reasonable position" Tarvek agreed with a nod of his own, the Mage-Lord frowning at the warchief, then shaking her head at Tarvek's words after "Your own kin did invade after all, and expansionist groups are not uncommon either, as my people's alliances were built to trade, yes, but also to stand in the face of an advanced species that used technology and psionics to conquer many worlds parallel to them. My own world suffered similar from a human warlord from a more developed world, and his daughter, till my House Lord and his forces defeated them in battle many decades ago now. Might people would have interests in trade here perhaps, but not to invade. Still, one can understand why you would prepare against such. If you want Peace, then prepare for War, as the wise sayeth"

That….seemed to offend the human Mage-Lord, if only mildly, while the Warchief frowned at it, but gave a nod in response "Hmm, perhaps. You make claims, ones hard to believe, and lacking proof easily beyond that you are not of Azeroth; - but I am inclined to believe your words Tav. For that I agree with Lady Proudmoore a workshop is acceptable, as is providing materials as needed. Others will want questions answered too, just as hers will"

He patted his right knee, shaking his head "You seem not surprised at our people's division"

"Most planes, of single, free, worlds, tend not to be united, even when there is a single race" Tarvek answered honestly, gesturing at himself, Janet, and Mayuko "None of our worlds are united into a single great nation, even if my own is part of a wider alliance. In part our mutual allied worlds are formed to prevent others forcefully uniting us. With many races upon your Azeroth? Nay, it is unlikely that it would be united unless one force was powerful enough, and had sufficient communications and logistics, to conquer the world entire…"

Gave a 'helpless' shrug "Your undead foe may, perhaps, be that threat. There have been such worlds before, and our people always treat them seriously, even when such foes are merely mindless, spread by disease rather than magics. That such a foe can attack across the world as he did…well, as we are here, and attacked myself and mine, what limited aid can be given, shall be"

It was best to offer a gesture like that, as it would make them seem more official, as Tarvek was wary of being cut off from support and amidst these people. Sure they had the emergency escape to the Waystation, but there was a link here to lands beyond, and even if it took time….it would be so much easier to have the aid of local rulers than trying to do so while sneaking about. Nor was advisable for an aggressive force of sentient and maybe sapient undead to take control of this world, Azeroth, as that would make even infiltration near impossible. Just as the fact dragons had managed to track them down despite Tarvek's best efforts, training, and protections. Tarvek wanted armed guards, and mages, between him and such foes going forward.

Mage-Lord Proudmoore smiled, the Warchief Thrall nodding as she spoke "That is most welcome help, as has been your aid in defence of my city. I think this should be sufficient Warchief Thrall? For now at least? Perhaps we can reconvene for a meal later, and our, ah, trusted advisors can attend after we have discussed the matters here with them. If that would suit Sir Tav, and the ladies?"

Janet nodded to him, Mayuko shrugging, before Tarvek gave a nod of the affirmative "Of course, that is most acceptable to us"

"Aye, and to I. I'd best talk some sense into some heads before that. I agree with the trade, but we must discuss it more this day, and on the next morn"

{Pathfinder Log: 12.08.165 PLF}
{Days Since Contact Lost: 275}
{Dimension: Azeroth-01}

Pathfinder's log, trying to figure things out since first contact under unfortunate circumstances. One is loath to be dealing with such leaders on this plane, but that comes with the role now. Thank the heavens for the training given for such situations and having some manuals to reference. Hence why I'm writing rather than simply speak-to-text'ing as I prefer. Magical spies are a thing, and this is in an alien language to them, one behind multiple encryptions to my wetware and protections.

Going to have to give the natives some things, like anti-undead gear maybe?

Some temporal locking knowledge?

Even a basic workshop setup, crude as it might be, will give hints to various natives I expect. But forging armour for Mayuko and Janet, from native materials, somewhat requires such a workplace, and help too from the natives. They are a developed arcane society, even if their religions and divine realms are odd, and that gives rewards to go along with the risks of remaining here. With help, finding a route from this plane to a more beneficial one, closer to home, might take weeks or months rather than years. In truth, this plane has an interesting, if disturbing, history as best I can tell reading between the lines of their history texts and sensor scans. Significant, lingering, giant blood in the native humans for instance. Also, the undead legions that took over a large kingdom and now are back.

More, I do not trust this Horde. Or, rather, one can trust their leader I believe, but the structure of it, and its history, of the orcs especially, but also the trolls (weird trolls too!), having troubled history. Orcs destroying their homeworld and fleeing here, invading, while these Loa are yet unknown to me. Though they have some similarities to certain spirits from an Earth culture, but I believe they are blood sacrifice fuelled based on what was told to us. Much as these 'Blood Elves' seem to be, well, either blood magic, or magically addicted as best I understand?

Unstable describes much after listening over feasting tables. Nor do the advisors of this Thrall view me favourably, an understatement there. I fear they glorify the demon-worshipping, blood-pact signing, ancestors of theirs in some cases. They speak of others, beastfolk, but much seems an alliance of opposing this Alliance rather than true organisation. Much as my own ancestors struggled, and oft failed, under various Dark Lords defined only by current strength to command. Not that this Alliance is great either, but it is more organised seemingly, and the component parts seem more functional and developed on an individual basis as nations themselves.

Now we shall see what can be achieved. Pathfinder Tarvek signing off.
