Elena opened her front door to find Bonnie there. She immediately stepped aside to let her in. "Hey. Thanks for coming."

"Of course," Bonnie said before stepping inside. "Although, I was surprised you wanted to see me again today."

"You mean since you locked me in my own house?" Elena asked bitterly before shutting the door.

Bonnie sighed. "I'm protecting you, Elena. You tried to sacrifice yourself to Klaus and you planned to do it again."

"To protect my family, Bonnie. To protect my brother. It doesn't matter. That's not why I asked you here," Elena said before leading her friend to the living room. "I need your help. I need to talk to you about your grandmother."

"Grams?" Bonnie asked surprised. She wasn't sure what Elena could have to say about her grandmother. Her grandmother had died months ago, and Elena had had very little to do with her until vampires came into their lives.

"Yeah," Elena said before taking a seat on the couch. "I think your grandmother did something to me and Jeremy and I want it undone." It had only been a couple of hours since Jenna had told them her knowledge of what happened, but Elena was absolutely furious. That woman had no right to screw with their minds, and her father had no business allowing her to.

"Why would you think that my grandmother would do something to you? Wait, Jenna's not home, is she?" Bonnie asked.

"No. She left a little while ago to meet Carol Lockwood. She won't be back for a while, and Jeremy went out to meet friends, or so he said. I'm pretty sure what Jenna told him just rattled him and he needed to get away," Elena explained.

"What did Jenna say?" Bonnie asked.

"She told us that we were practically inseparable when we were little. My parents were apparently very concerned because Jeremy would go to me for everything, and he even called me 'Mama.' I don't remember anything about this, neither does Jeremy. It makes sense that Jeremy wouldn't, but I should. I was old enough to remember something like that. I can remember my first day of kindergarten, but I don't remember Jeremy ever calling me 'Mama'," Elena told her.

"I do," Bonnie said. She remembered it. Elena was extremely close with Jeremy. She wouldn't go anywhere without him, and vice versa. She remembered thinking it was strange, but also kind of funny.

"You remember this happening? Why didn't you ever say anything?" Elena asked.

"Partially because I didn't think much of it. It was just a weird thing with little kids. We all did weird things as kids. I didn't think it meant anything. But also, Grams told me never to mention it to you. I was little, so I listened. I never thought anything of it again until now," Bonnie explained.

"My Aunt Jenna told me that my father took us to see your grandmother one day. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. Jeremy and I were no longer as close, and he no longer called me 'Mama.' It just abruptly stopped. She did something to us, Bonnie," Elena said.

Bonnie stared at her friend in disbelief. She wanted to tell Elena that she was wrong, that her grams would never do something like that, but it was a very big coincidence, to the point where it would be almost impossible for it to be a coincidence. "I… If that's true, I'm sorry."

"No, it's not your fault. I didn't ask you here to blame you. I need to find out what she did to us, and I need to fix it," Elena said.

"Look, I don't mean to make light of it because it wasn't right, but it was just a weird thing between little kids. Is it really that important?" Bonnie asked.

"It was important enough that your grandmother used magic on us. She screwed with my relationship with Jeremy. So, yes, it is that important. If it truly was just an innocent thing between two kids, I need to know why she cared enough to screw with us," Elena said.

"Okay, but I don't know what I can do. I obviously can't ask her about it," Bonnie said.

"I don't know. Could you possibly do a memory spell?" Elena asked.

Bonnie shook her head. "I don't know any. But maybe there is one thing I could try. I could try to do with you what I did with Mason Lockwood. The problem is, I don't know if it'll work if you're not unconscious, and I don't know what I'm going to get. It's not an ability I have a lot of control over. It might be better to ask Stefan or Damon to do it. They can enter the minds of humans."

"Damon is never, ever getting in my head. The fact that I still have to see his face after what he did to Jeremy is nauseating enough. And I don't really feel comfortable with my boyfriend seeing certain parts of my memory. You're my best friend. You know most of it anyway," Elena said.

"What about Caroline?" she asked.

"If you can't do it, I'll ask her, but you're here now. Will you please try? If you need me to be unconscious, I'm more than willing to have you knock me out," Elena half joked.

"Yeah, let's try not to have that happen. Okay, lay down and close your eyes. Try not to fight me. I don't know how this is going to feel," Bonnie said before getting up.

Elena nodded before stretching out on the couch. She shut her eyes and attempted to relax.

Bonnie knelt down next to her friend and put her hands on the sides of her head. "Try to think of Grams. Hopefully, that will help get me to where I need."

"Okay. I'm ready when you are," Elena said.

Bonnie shut her eyes and concentrated on seeing Elena with her grandmother as a child. It took a few minutes. She had to sift through other memories first, like when they had all been there to open the tomb. Finally, she got to the memory of Elena in a room with her grandmother, Jeremy, and Grayson Gilbert

"Can you fix this Sheila? It isn't normal," Grayson said.

"You'll do nothing!" Elena said in a cold tone.

"Elena?" Grayson questioned in a worried tone.

"I do not believe this is your daughter, Grayson. What are you, girl?" Sheila asked the child coldly.

"You're wrong. I am Elena Gilbert, but not at the same time. I have memories of two lives," Elena explained.

"Two lives? You speak of reincarnation, but you wouldn't remember it if such a phenomenon happened. How is it possible, and who are you?" Sheila asked.

"That is none of your concern. Just know that if you attempt to interfere with me and the child, you will suffer the consequences," she said coldly as she looked back at Jeremy, who was playing obliviously a few feet away.

"I'm afraid that is a risk I will have to take," Sheila said.

Bonnie gasped as she came out of the memory. "Oh my God!"

Elena opened her eyes and sat up. "What is it? Did it work? I didn't feel anything."

"You don't remember?" Bonnie asked.

"No. I thought we established that that is the problem," Elena said.

"Yeah, but since I accessed it, I thought maybe you'd remember it. It must have been a blocked memory. Her spell didn't erase it, it just blocked it," Bonnie said.

"Then she did do something to us," Elena said. She pretty much knew that, but now she had confirmation, and she was even more pissed than she was before.

"I think so. I didn't see what Grams did, but she made her intentions clear," Bonnie said.

"What did you see?" Elena asked.

"It was really strange. We were wrong. Your attachment to Jeremy was not just an innocent kid thing. I saw you talking to her the way we're talking now. It was like two adults talking, not an adult talking to a little kid. The way you spoke was unlike how any child would speak. My grams mentioned something about you being reincarnated," Bonnie said in disbelief. She didn't even know that was possible. Then again, until a few months ago, she didn't think witchcraft or vampirism were possible either.

'Reincarnated? Like a past life? That's possible?" Elena asked in utter disbelief.

"Grams seemed to think so, although she said you shouldn't remember it. I think that's what she did. She repressed the memories of that past life," Bonnie said.

Elena just stood there staring at her friend. She didn't know how to respond. She had lived before? She had literally been another person and that person was erased from her memory? What did that mean for her? Who was she? Was she Elena Gilbert or was she someone else? And what did this mean for Jeremy? "What about Jeremy?"

"I don't know. I saw him in your memory, but he was oblivious to what was going on. You were extremely protective of him though. You threatened my grams if she did anything to interfere with your relationship with him," Bonnie said.

"Which she did," Elena said through gritted teeth.

"Look, I don't agree with what my grandmother did, but maybe it was for the best. I don't know what it would've done to you to have two separate memories in your head," Bonnie said.

Elena shook her head after a minute. "No. It's not for the best. I can feel that with everything inside of me. It was not best for me or Jeremy. I have to undo it."

"I couldn't undo it for you if I wanted to. I have no idea what Grams did or how to reverse it," Bonnie said.

"I'll have to find a way," Elena said. She felt it deep inside her that she had to find a way to fix this for Jeremy's sake. Every instinct inside of her was telling her that reversing what Sheila Bennett had done was what was best for him. One way or another, she would fix it.

Jeremy made his way home later that night. He was quite high and a bit drunk. He'd spent the entire day trying to do everything in his power to forget everything he'd learned from Jenna. He couldn't completely get it out of his mind, but it did help. Of course, Elena was going to be pissed if she caught him like this, but he was willing to take the risk.

Jeremy stumbled towards the house. He wasn't paying much attention though because he knocked into someone on the way inside. Whoever it was very sturdy though because he fell to the ground when he hit the person. "Whoa!"

A hand reached out and pulled Jeremy up to his feet.

"Thanks. Sorry," Jeremy said before focusing on the person he hit. When he finally saw the person, he was surprised he didn't fall back to the ground from shock. Standing in front of him was the same man he'd seen in his 'dream' when he died. The man he was told was his father.

"It's quite alright, young man. You must be Elena's brother. I'm Elijah," the man said as he held his hand out for the boy to shake.

Jeremy's hand moved without his consent as he shook Elijah's hand. He shook his father's hand. Denying the truth wasn't possible anymore, not when the man from his supposed dream, who he'd never seen before, was standing in front of him. Shouldn't he be dead though? Then again, he'd met several people that should be dead and weren't. "J…Jeremy."

Elijah looked at the boy. The child was clearly under the influence. One look in his eyes told him that. Elijah also saw something in the boy's eyes that was familiar to him, but he couldn't place it. "It's nice to meet you, Jeremy. I was just leaving. Perhaps you should go inside now. You seem a bit… out of it."

Jeremy nodded numbly before walking inside the house almost robotically
