Meanwhile, in Gensokyo

"Reeeeiiiiiimuuuuuu!"

"Mmmm…"

Marisa landed on the Hakurei Shrine's roof, seeing Reimu trying to take a nap on the roof.

"Oi, Reimu!"

"...Mmm, five more minutes…"

Marisa rolled her eyes and shook Reimu awake. "WAKE UP!"

"Waaaah! Alriiiight… alriiiiight!" Reimu groaned as she sat up. "What do you want…" She yawned.

"Do you know where Himiko is? I've been looking all over for her." Marisa explained. "She wasn't in my house-"

"Because there's no room in that pig sty-"

"I spruced up!"

"Right, because putting a few books on the shelf while everything is thrown on the ground counts as "sprucing up"."

"I'm… working on it…" She mumbled. "Anyway, she wasn't at Alice's either so I was wondering if-"

"Oh, Himiko. The Ultimate from Remnant." Reimu yawned. "I'll show ya."

She hopped down and opened up the doors, revealing Himiko taking a nap and curled up next to Clownpiece and a drunken Suika.

"What the… how the heck did she get in here?!"

"You know she likes the shrine. Besides, she's harmless… and not to mention using up too much of her semblance drains her. Can't blame her for being a bit lazy."

"I'm… well aware of that. Was she sleepwalking?"

"Nah. Remember the party we had last night with Meta Knight and Dedede? She was getting sleepy and fell into my lap. Meanwhile, you were so drunk from the sake that you didn't even notice Himiko wasn't with you when you flew back home."

"That's because Yuugi kept pouring too much…" Marisa mumbled. "Her and Suika..."

Reimu chuckled. "Besides, as I said, I don't mind her staying at the shrine."

"Because she's lazy like you are?" Marisa deadpanned, causing Reimu to sweatdrop.

"Uuuuh… whatever gave you that impression?""

Marisa chuckled as she knelt down and nudged Himiko. "Hey…"

"Zzzz… huh…?" Himiko woke up and saw Marisa.

"Hey, you up for more magic training? I told Patchy that we're gonna be seeing her today."

Himiko blinked before turning the other way. "Five more minutes…"

Reimu snickered. "Definitely reminds me of Meiling and Komachi."

"And someone else I know…" Marisa deadpanned as she grabbed Himiko's wrist and pulled her way. "Come on, the Scarlet Devil Mansion awaits!"

"But I don't wanna…" Himiko mumbled in her sleep as Marisa dragged her away.

"Heeeeey, wait a second! Marisa, you might want to put her on your broom! The stairs are-"

Thud

Thud

Thud

Thud

Thud

Reimu sweatdropped with a grimace as Marisa walked down the stairs with a sleepy Himiko hitting her head on the stairs.

"...I should go with them." She said as she ran off.

At the bottom of the stairs…

BGM: Argue For and Against (Touhou 10.5: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody)

"Mmmm… okay, message received…" Himiko said, having some comically large goose eggs on her head.

"Ahehehe… sorry about that, I thought you would have woken up after the first few stairs."

"So you used the whole damn staircase?" Reimu deadpanned.

"Well, it got her awake, didn't it?" Marisa smiled as Reimu sighed, pushing the goose eggs back into her head.

"Ow…" Himiko winced.

"Alright, so let's review all the magic you've mastered while staying here… because apparently, Vale has issues with me practicing magic in their park."

"They didn't have issues with your magic. They had issues with you throwing your bombs around for Himiko to "try and use herself"."

"Eh, so the Vale Council are a bunch of fuddyduds. What of it?"

"Oh boy…" Reimu shook her head.

Himiko pulled her wand out. "Alright… here goes." She said as her wand glowed brightly. "Starlight Typhoon!"

A bunch of magical star danmaku came flying out.

Himiko raised her hand up in the air. "Perfect Freeze!"

"HUH?!" Reimu said in surprise as a blizzard formed around them.

"Aaaah… just what the doctor ordered…"

"Where… huh…? She-... where did she learn that?!"

"Oh, Cirno saw us practicing magic so she thought she could teach her a few tricks."

"Perfect Freeze!" Cirno called out.

"...That's it? A flurry?" Himiko wondered.

"Sure beats the summer heat though." Marisa said, casually fanning herself.

"It does." Himiko nodded. "Now let me try!"

"It took a few tries, but she got that down." Marisa grinned.

"Soooo… did she also teach her about-"

"Icicle Machine Gun? Nah…"

"Phew…"

"Though she did teach her Diamond Blizzard and Insta-Freeze Beam."

Reimu blinked. "Holy crap…"

"See? It's not just me teachin' her!"

At that moment, Himiko charged up her wand. "Master… SPARK!" She yelled, firing a massive Master Spark into the air… and accidentally knocked Star Sapphire and Luna Child out of the sky.

"Ack!" Sunny Milk yelped.

"Ooops." Himiko grimaced.

"Ah… they've survived worse. They'll be fine." Marisa said before smiling proudly. "You're able to do that without struggling now. I'm impressed!"

Himiko blushed. "I have a great teacher."

Marisa blushed. "Awwww!" She rubbed the back of her head. "It's nothin'...!"

She then pointed off toward the distance. "Come on, to the Scarlet Devil Mansion!"

"Yeah!" Himiko nodded.

"This ought to be good…" Reimu chuckled.

End BGM

Once at Patchouli's library…

Patchouli read through a book, humming to herself as she sensed people walking in. She looked up to see the Marisa, Reimu and Himiko approaching. "Ah, hello you three."

"Sup!" Marisa smiled.

"...Wait." Reimu looked at Patchouli. "Something's different about you. You don't look as pale as you used to."

"Oh, so you noticed."

"Saaaay… what's going on here? You don't look sickly like you used to be."

"Let's just say I decided to pay Toad Town's library a visit a few days ago…"

BGM: Toad Town (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story plus Bowser Jr's Journey)

"Uuungh…" Patchouli groaned, leaning on a bench.

"Are you okay?" Koakuma asked.

"I… should be fine… I should be close to the library…" She panted.

"Oh!" A voice spoke up. "You are looking rather unwell, frauline."

The duo looked up to see Medic approaching her. "What seems to be troubling you?"

"Asthma… anemia…"

"Oooh, sounds like you need zhome more iron. But never fear, I know just the cure for you. Come on!"

End BGM

"Wait wait wait, time out!" Reimu said. "What did this doctor look like? Was it that Ultimate Nurse that Eirin occasionally visits?"

"No. He had a German accent."

Marisa grimaced. "Oh god… that's the same dude who I've heard that he replaced Ruby's hip with an elephant!"

"That was legit?" Himiko asked.

"I didn't know he was that doctor until it was too late…"

BGM: A Little Heart to Heart (Team Fortress 2)

"Are you sure this is completely ethical?" Patchouli asked, the Medigun keeping her alive while she had been cut open and had her heart taken out.

"In many countries… no. But zhis is a land filled with wackiness. I'm sure zhis will go along swimmingly!"

Medic put her heart into the Medigun's healing beam. "Now, most hearts cannot withstand such voltage, but I'm very certain your heart-"

SPLAT!

Some of the heart went flying and smacked into Archimedes.

"...What the hell was that?"

"It's zhe sound of progress, my friend!"

"Wait… oooh nooo, you're HIM!"

Medic looked into the fridge. "Now zhen… let's see here-"

He looked through the many hearts he's collected.

"No… no… zhat one will cause cancer in your toenails… zhat will increase chances of turning your skin into a leopard, zhat will definitely cause-"

"Kill me."

"...How have I not rid of you yet?" Medic wondered as he looked through until he found the one.

Mega Baboon

"...Well. Ol' reliable should do zhe trick." He said as he quickly looked into his computer on Patchouli. "Ah, we've a match! Nozhing horrific will happen zhis time!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN "THIS TIME"?!"

Medic put the Mega Baboon heart into the beam. "Come on… come on… hahahahaha… HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-"

"What have I done…"

"Oh! Zhat looks good." He dropped the heart into Patchouli. "Very nice there."

"Please tell me I shouldn't be awake for this…"

"Ahaha… well no… but as long as you are, could you hold open your ribcage a bit? I can't seem-"

Snap!

"AUUUUUGH!" Patchouli cried in agony.

"Oh… zhere goes another one…" Medic mumbled as he picked up a piece of Patchouli's ribs. "Aww, don't worry about a zhing. Ribs grow back!"

He turned to Archimedes. "No, zhey don't."

He then proceeded to heal her up, patching her body up with no issue as Patchouli felt herself breathe.

"Oh my…"

"Now zhen… let's get rid of zhat pesky asthma."

End BGM

Patchouli pulled up an X-Ray. "He literally replaced my lungs with cybernetic ones, which in turn causes my lungs to be fully immune to asthma, bronchitis and other diseases… and somehow, they fused with my spinal cord and made my spine a hundred times stronger, so my spine is cybernetic too."

"That shouldn't even be possible." Marisa said.

"He calls it a "happy little accident". Not only that, but Medic did a blood drive which got rid of all of my iron deficient blood and replaced it with new ones where my heart is able to produce iron a lot more frequently now. And all of this was safe when he checked his computer constantly. No ill effects, nothing."

"Soooo… where's the old blood?"

"Donated as far as I know. Who knows who has it."

"Blegh!" Celeste grimaced as she was drinking Patchouli's blood from the bag. "This blood tastes funny…"

Himiko blinked before sighing. "This Medic guy… what a pain."

"You said it." Reimu agreed.

"I agree wholeheartedly. I've felt things that can never be unfelt…" Patchouli shuddered.

"So… did your rib grow back?" Marisa asked.

"...I don't want to talk about it…" Patchouli said, suddenly sulking near a bookcase as Koakuma patted her on the back.

"That's an affirmative…" Marisa sweatdropped.

"Believe me when I tell you-" A voice said as they turned to see Remilia walking in with Sakuya. "That dude's pushing it. Luckily, I messed with his fate a bit as punishment for what he did to Patchy~"

"Oh, hello little puppy!" Medic waved.

"Woof!" The little golden retriever happily ran over to him… and bit his leg.

"Ow! You are quite zhe ankle bite-"

RRRRRIIIIIIP!

"AAAUUUUUGH!" Medic yelled as the golden retriever pup somehow tore off his leg and ran off with it. "Come back! I need zhat leg!"

Medic fell over and then folded his arms, pulling out a clipboard. "Note to self: Grow new leg."

"Funny thing was, I meant for him to bite his ankle, not tear his whole leg off. It was pretty funny though!" Remilia giggled.

Patchouli returned after some sulking. "So… I've been hearing you've been learning some magic."

"Yes."

"Let's see if you can learn some magic from me."

Himiko's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Yes." Patchouli nodded with a smile.

"Waaaait… are you sure this is a good idea? Patchy's a pro here. She's gonna exhaust the hell out of Himiko!" Reimu said.

"I trust that Lady Patchouli will be kind to her." Sakuya said.

"Don't worry, I will." Patchouli said. "Are you ready, Himiko?"

"Yes!" Himiko nodded.

"Then let's begin."

BGM: Locked Girl ~ The Girl's Secret Room (Touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil)

A tome appeared in front of Himiko. "First, let's start with the basics of fire." Patchouli said.

"Oh, I know a little fire magic." Himiko said, conjuring up flames in her hand. "You can thank Mokou for teaching me a few things."

Reimu looked toward Marisa in surprise. "MOKOU?!"

"Why not? She didn't have anything going on after she and Kaguya buried the hatchet. So she was happy to teach a few tricks."

"This isn't just normal fire like what the phoenix taught you. This is more advanced." Patchouli said.

"Good to know." Himiko nodded as she looked into it. "Okay… make a sign of fire…"

Himiko traced the kanji with her wand and with some practice, Himiko proceeded to create some fire symbols. "Agni Shine!"

Patchouli put up a barrier to protect herself just in case as fire was spread everywhere, but luckily not hitting any of the books.

After tracing the kanji, she was able to create flames around her, but they were a bit unstable as Patchouli made fire of her own, making it much more fluent and graceful than Himiko's. In fact, it consumed Himiko's fire and evaporated.

"It's a good start. Now try this one."

Another tome appeared in front of Himiko as she saw what it was. "Water sign…" She mumbled as she traced the kanji and once she traced it a few times, she conjured up some water.

"Princess Undine!"

She shot off some waves of water along with some torrents of water that Patchouli put her hand forward and pushed the water around her, creating water of her own and washed it away.

"Not bad. Now try this."

Another tome appeared as Himiko studied and traced the kanji in question. "Wood… okay."

Her wand glowed as Himiko traced the kanji a few times, and then clapped her hands together.

"Sylphy Horn!"

Green razor sharp leaves and sticks appeared around her and shot off in erratic directions that Patchouli was able to get out of the way and proceeded to conjure up a tree to block off some of them before she dismissed it.

"You're quite skilled, and once you've stablized yourself, you'll be able to get these down easily."

"That's why Marisa had me use Master Spark quite often." Himiko said, where Marisa flashed the peace sign with a dorky grin.

Patchouli nodded. "Now try this one."

Another tome appeared as Himiko studied it, raising an eyebrow before tracing it. "Metal…" She mumbled as she traced the kanji sign.

"Metal Fatigue!"

Iron hot metal rose from the ground as she manipulated the metal to twist and bend as it cooled off, creating some twisted metal.

"Not bad. Now try the next one."

The tome appeared as Himiko studied and traced the kanji. "Earth…"

She swung her wand down. "Lazy Trilithon!"

Earth rose up from the ground, causing rocks to fall down and landed on the ground, nearly crushing everyone hadn't Sakuya pushed everyone out of the way with stopping time. Patchouli got rid of the earth.

"Ultimate Magician indeed." Patchouli said with a smile. "Now for the next one."

As the tome appeared before her, Himiko took a look and tilted her head. "...The sun?" She wondered before shrugging, proceeding to make the kanji regardless.

"Royal Flare!"

A massive fireball shot up into the sky, shining bright like the sun as Himiko felt a surge of power flow through her as the "sun" exploded, creating massive fireballs raining down that Patchouli made a water barrier to protect everyone and her library.

"Impressive! Now for the last one."

Fatigued, Himiko was still ready to learn the last one as the last tome appeared before her as she groggily looked through it.

"The moon…?" She yawned before nodding, tracing the kanji and then slammed her wand to the ground.

"Silent Selene!"

The moon appeared above them as beams of light rained down and surrounded Himiko, where she felt a surge of defense course through her as more beams of light rained down as Patchouli put up a barrier.

"Well done. Something about the sun and moon signs… the sun raises your attack power and relies on offense while the moon raises your defense and is more passive and defensive." Patchouli said.

"That's… good to know…" Himiko yawned as she fell on her back, but Sakuya quickly caught her.

End BGM

"She wore herself out…" Remilia said.

"Yeah, she does tend to do that." Marisa said.

"She did learn a lot, so I do not blame her for being tired." Patchouli smiled. "I imagine with practicing these with me, she'd be able to master these. She has a lot of potential."

"Indeed." Sakuya nodded as she put Himiko over her shoulder. "Come on, let's get you laid down for a nap."

"Zzzzzz…"

In the main living room, Sakuya had made tea for everyone and made some cookies for Himiko when she woke up, but given how she was passed out on Sakuya's lap… she would be sleeping there for a while.

This Gaiden idea was inspired by none other than Wyvern!

Ibuki: Awww! Himiko-chan sleeping on her lap is so cute~!
