Taeko was flying his [Maverick] only to be surprised by Kyu appearing in the passenger seat saying that they needed to talk.
"Base game is updating to 1.6.4. There's going to be a lot of changes and some mods have to be removed and reconfigured. So I can't have you going to Pelican Town…until tomorrow." Kyu said.
"But I had a date night and plans." Taeko remarked.
"Don't worry, I took care of it. The mines closed for the day…and your house has a bug infestation." Kyu said as Taeko paled. "It's being handled…you'll be getting a text from Elly May about it."
Taeko's phone buzzed as he got the text. He called Abigail, apologizing for what happened.
"It's not your fault. Besides, they say they're just running a check due to some rumors. And I still have a room with my parents…though now it has to be awkward because my mom wants to give me tips on how to be a good partner." Abigail said.
"To be fair, you could stand to learn to cook." Taeko said as she groaned. "Not really a thing you can avoid, all adults should know how to cook to some extent."
"Ok, now that sounds reasonable. I wish my mother could have said it like that. Either way, Penny's on her boat and Maru's staying at her lab. Apparently, the cops are investigating something in the area not too far away from the Valley. So maybe not come home." Abigail said.
"Thanks, Abs. Love you." Taeko said before hanging up.
"The update is going to be major. Too much to list but one of the more important matters is your skills. There's a new level cap…and a place for you to further your skills. Your grandfather would leave you a letter with some details…the location we'll mark on the map for tomorrow. Of course, given the new cap of 15. We calculated the theoretical experience points you'd need for it. However, you won't be able to access that location and what's in it until all five of your skills are at level 10. So once that's done, you can approach that." Kyu said. "To compensate, I've opened up access to that content at the trailer park early and some outfits you can put the two trailer bunnies you got on me. By the way, Musubi has been delivered to your brothel."
"If you want to get Sekirei clones to sell, why not just approach the Ashikabi and offer them a crap ton of cash to get a DNA sample from them? You don't have to tell them what you're doing with it. Hell, Uzume would be willing as she could just pay to have her Ashikabi moved to another hospital. I could go on the list of Sekirei and the Ashikabi who would have their Sekirei willingly hand over a sample for cash or an exchange. You did read the manga or watch the show, right?" Taeko mused.
"No, I was too distracted by the boobies." Kyu said as Taeko sighed. "But I'd be happy to ask for that intel…"
"That'll cost you a consulting fee. Considering how valuable those Sekirei are…I want cash." Taeko said.
"How many samples would we be able to get with your information? Given these Sekirei are going to range from Medium to Very Hard" Kyu said doing some math on her phone. "Minus a cut being put to your business and office expenses…yes you need to pay those. You can get 101,300 Gold per Sekirei, if you can assure us."
"Ok, well Minato would be strapped for cash. But you'd have to get him when he's away from Miya. Speaking of Miya, if you really want to risk it for her…you'd have to bribe Matsu. Yashima, Sekirei #84, has a POS Ashikabi, frankly, you could have a hit team kill him and she'd probably let you. Hibiki and Hikari would jump at giving up some DNA for the right amount of cash. Again Uzume would be the same. Kuno, Sekirei #95, would give it up for both cash and aid to get her and her Ashikabi out of the city. Pretty sure, you can make something to deal with the Discipline Squad. So that's 10 I can assure. If you want to risk it, you could find where MBI stashes the deactivated Sekirei and just steal the DNA samples…" Taeko explained astutely. "I can link you to the Sekirei Wiki."
"Sekirei Wiki? You ass, you could have said that first." Kyu said.
"You wouldn't have known if I hadn't said anything…and how it's my fault you didn't do your research." Taeko pointed out.
"Fair enough. I'll have your 1,013,000 sent to you tonight as apart of your business profits. I'll toss 100 grand extra in for the wiki, and for the fact you will never mention this again, you little shit." Kyu said as Taeko gave her the details before she snapped her fingers.
She vanished in a flash as Taeko nearly lost control but he managed to land it at his Stardew Helipad. He called for a cab, as one would show up to take him to Stardew Galaxia. The distance had cost him about 2,000 Gold…but he didn't complain. While he wanted to go to the trailer park, he figured he'd go to the cells first. He would have gone to see Marinette only to realize he left probably edging for most of the weekend. He decided she could stay like that for a little longer before setting her back to her [Hero Outfit].
He decided now was the time to see Musubi and excitedly entered her cell. Or was about it when he stopped. After some thought, the idea of pimping her out did not completely appeal to him. Although, doing so would make him a fortune. The thought of her as a maid for one of his places was appealing to him…and he realized the trailer park would be perfect. She'd make a good guard…and she'd fit right in with Rosemary and Anna. He would set her to stripping at the Glamour Slam at least. 75% of the price of a very hard capture was a lot of cash.

Unlike the others, Musubi did not need the white room treatment. If anything, she was already subdued like Rei and Killer Frost, thus she had a fairly spacious room with a stimulated outdoor area. "Yeah, some of those stereotypes are kinda true. But honestly, Yelenhelm kinda messed up. The queen's nice and all…in fact she makes it functioning. Her and her husband to be." Taeko said as Ghoul finished the adjustments. "Good, you can outfit it with bulletproof tires with blue tire smoke. And paint the bike's primary color to be a pearlescent bluish silver. So what's my total?"
"30,050 Gold." Ghoul said as Taeko forked over the cash. "Thank you."
"Ok, I'll wheel in the car." Taeko said. "I managed to acquire this from someone recently deceased."
"Considering the business, people do die around you. Did he have it coming?" Ghoul joked.
"She. And yeah, she was a dirty cop." Taeko said before wheeling the [Infernus Classic]. "With a good taste in cars."
"Damn…talk about a blast from the past." Ghoul said before popping the hood. "Looks like the previous owner had work done on it. Brakes and transmission are race quality and it looks like the body had an armor upgrade maxed out too. Turbo tuning too. Tires are bulletproof, but that makes sense for a dirty cop."
"At least she saved me some money. Focus on the EMS upgrades, suspension, and adding in Xenon lights first." Taeko said as Ghoul got them in. "Now for the color, I'm thinking pearlescent Ice White primary, and accented secondary being gold. As for the bodywork, secondary color gills on the sides. Engine block can be the secondary color as well as the color for the louver engine color, the skirt, and the race splitter. Exhaust can be the titanium tuner. The spoiler? Extreme Downforce BGW. Limo tinted windows. Golden shower neon around the car. Carbon Shadow rims painted gold with blue tire smoke. And a new license plate, paint it silver with the text on it being 'Vice24'."
Ghoul put in the work and the car looked like a million bucks…and all those upgrades cost a little less than 100,000.
"It's beautiful." Taeko said getting in.
"The interior I cleaned up and the nitrous in." Ghoul said as Taeko revved the engine.
"Ghoul, thank you." Taeko said before driving away.
He decided to enjoy the drive to the trailer park in Angel Pine to which the souped up classic made the journey in about an hour. Taeko pulled up in his trailer before getting out.
"Taeko!" Brandy said coming up.
She caught him off guard with a hungry kiss and pawed at his backside before breaking the kiss.
"Sorry, I just got it real bad for men in suits." Brandy said. "You caught us before we were due to leave for a little vacation. Autumn and I are taking the trailer to the truck and going down to Forjado for a week."
Taeko nodded and even gave them 15 grand for spending money before watching them go.
"They'll make my money back." Taeko said going over to his trailer.
He changed out of the suit to a black tank top, blue track pants with white side stripes, and white mid-top sneakers over black socks. He did keep his chain before walking out to go to Rosemary's trailer. He found Rosemary was out, but there was Anna still in that pilgrim getup.
"Rosemary went out to the store to get some things." Anna said. "She'll be there for a while."
She squeaked as he removed the bonnet off her head.
"It's a bit too hot for that…" Taeko said. "You could use some new clothes, but first you need to take those off. I won't allow for any trace of what your mother did to you to remain so you can have a fresh start."
"But, I'm not sure if I can just go naked." Anna said.
"Anna, you need to be comfortable in your own skin, plus I can get you some new clothes to wear." Taeko said, assuring her. "Can't let your mom hold you back."
"Ok then." Anna said before she got off the apron. "It has been very hot."

Taeko would have but he noticed that he had a new mission available back in Yelenhelm.
"Can't. Later." Taeko said before leaving.
He returned to Yelenhelm but not before changing to [Claude's Outfit]. He found the mission being from the Northwests at their company building. He arrived at the place before going straight to the glowing corona. What surprised him was the mission title.
[Staunton Saga Finale - Last Plays by Northwest]
He noticed Preston was alone this time as Taeko took a seat.
"First of all, let me thank you again for dealing with that personal matter. People will always read something into anything these days. Experience has taught me that a man like you can be very loyal for the right price, especially when it comes to common enemies and dirty work. But groups of men get greedy. A valued resource, an old British gentleman I know, has been kept hostage by Kaneko's goons and some cops in a compound in Aspatria. They're trying to extort funds from me but I refuse to hand over a cent to that psychotic prude. Go and rescue my friend, do whatever it takes." Preston said as Taeko nodded. "And take these keys, you'll need them after you rescue him, so call after."
Taeko took his leave only for his phone to ring once he was out of the building…he answered it to hear Priscilla.
"I might have some information of importance to you…considering our mutual enemy. Deal with our issue first. Text me when you're done…and we can talk." Priscilla said before hanging up.
Taeko immediately called Dijonay up for intel.
"I don't know if you're lucky or got good timing, Kaneko's trying to do this under Makima's nose. I actually caught one of them and make them squeal. I was going to tell Makima, but given you're asking about it…I'm not going to do anything. They are expecting an [FIB Buffalo] that I was supposed to use…it's parked in the big car park. Take it and do what you must…but leave no witnesses alive. Car doesn't have a tracer., but I wouldn't hang on to it too long." Dijonay said before hanging up.
Taeko headed over to find a slicked out ride which stuck out considering the older models used. He got in before his phone would ring again, this time from Odalia. A panicked call that some cops got to her near her place, and he wasted no time getting over there.
"You know, it's funny that she's been here under our noses." One cop said as the handcuffed Odalia was on the ground. "But hey, we can have some fun with her before we report to Makima."
"We should report to Ma-"
*BLAM!* The second cop was shot in the head before the first got a gut shot. Before she could even respond, finger blasts went through her chest.
"You ok, Odalia?" Taeko said getting her out of the cuffs.
"Thank you, Taeko. At the least, those two fuckers didn't have their bodycams on." Odalia said before taking their guns. "But why are you here?"
"I'll explain on the way, you may as well help out considering the fight ahead." Taeko said before calling Rosaria. "I'll get Rosaria to deal with the bodies."
Odalia snatched a spare vest of body armor, some magazines and a shotgun from the police car before getting in the car with Taeko to which he explained everything.
"Seems the Northwest are up to something…" Odalia said.
"Not that it matters to me considering they're paying, they're helping me with that nutcase, and they haven't backstabbed me. Hell, they pay really well." Taeko mused.
"Still, I wonder." Odalia said as they were coming up on the place. "How'd you even get this?"
"Makima doesn't know I got an inside woman in her circle. For someone so smart, she's dumb enough to look down on everyone who's not an elf. And I don't know if she did any research on me because if she had…she'd probably have concerns that I am a problem." Taeko said.
"You should be thankful she isn't." Odalia said dryly as the gate opened. "But I get why you're annoyed. But look alive, we're here."
Taeko grinned as he scanned the area…about twenty people, half of them cops and the other Kaneko's goons.
"We need a smokescreen." Taeko remarked as Odalia revealed tear gas canisters. "Well, shall we?"
Lowering the window and using some telekinesis, he sent out the canisters which smacked several of them in the face before exploding. Both Taeko and Odalia jumped out, opening fire at them. Odalia went for the heads with her shotgun as Taeko fired with her AR-50. They had dodge the wild shots coming from the dazed goons.
"We need backup in Aspartia, we're getting jump-"
Odalia cut that officer off with a shot to the throat as Taeko got the last person in the head. Taeko sensed around as the smoke cleared, finding the gentlemen behind one of the garages.
"Another human, how unusual." The gentleman said.
He was dressed rather typically for the upper class of Britain with a beige suit and red bow tie. He even had a black satchel bag.
"Northwest sent me to get you." Taeko said.
"Splendid. Please call me, Mr. E." Mr. E said, shaking Taeko's hand.
"Taeko." Taeko said. "Come on…"
There was an explosion as they came out to see a cop car had exploded thanks to Odalia.
"One of them had their body cam on, so I disposed of that evidence. But we need to get out of here, backup's been called and no doubt Makima's going to be here soon." Odalia said.
They all got in as Taeko drove right out of the compound. He immediately called up Preston to let him know that Mr. E was secured.
"Good. Give the gentlemen the key with red E on it. The blue key and the gold key are for you, but the gold key is to be used later so don't use it just yet. Cross the bridge to Burnside Vale to Wichita Gardens. You'll be dropping him off at the project building that doubles as headquarters for Game Radio. Take him up to his apartment. The other two keys are for the Northwest Towers, the blue key is for an apartment, my gift to you considering I don't know you got a place in Burnside. Your payment will be there." Preston said. "The gold key will be explained to you…soon."
He hung up as Taeko went back to the car park to return the [FIB Buffalo] where he found it.
"Odalia. Mr. E. Just hide yourselves behind some cars, I need to snatch one of my rides." Taeko said as they got out.
Taeko fluffed his jacket as he crossed the street and jogged to his hidden apartment to get to his garage, wheeling out his [Bulletproof Patriot].
"I need more four door cars." Taeko thought before picking up Odalia and Mr. E. "At least the windows are tinted."
They crossed the bridge before arriving at the spot. Odalia remained in the car as Taeko and Mr. E got out to enter the building. He got him to his apartment before bidding him farewell. Taeko returned to the car, remembering Priscilla's words.
"Odalia, I need to attend to some business alone so I'll drop you somewhere safe." Taeko said before driving up to Cedar Grove going straight to the Lemoncarb's manor.
"The Lemoncarbs. You work with them?" Odalia asked.
"They're straight with me and I did sleep with one of them." Taeko said.
"Linda? Wait, no, you got in Lynda's pants! But she's a total prude." Odalia said.
"It's a front of just looking upper class. They want to profit, but they don't really bullshit around. At least after our first meeting." Taeko said to park the car.
"I swear that if it's one of the Chief's-Taeko…" Lynda said coming out in a bathrobe as Taeko and Odalia. "Oh my, Odalia…you're still alive."
Lynda nearly dropped her baseball bat.
"Sorry, it's just the cops have been looking for you. But something's up with that…especially now that I see you're with him." Lynda said.
"Long story short, Kaneko's bribing them to go after her and I've been in an alliance with Delite to help her." Taeko said. "I need you to hide her for an hour or two while I deal with some business. I'll be back to pick her up."
"Sure, of course." Lynda said as Taeko drove off. "Ms. Delite, how you been?"
"Better, but it's hard." Odalia said as they went inside.
"I know. I'm sorry about your kids and your hus-" Lynda said.
"Ex-husband. And I feel nothing towards him, the bastard." Odalia said darkly.

The Cochrane Dam looked lovely under the night sky, and Taeko enjoyed the drive across it. He wondered what warranted Priscilla to get him to go all the Pike Creek to some packaging plant in Pike Creek. The place looked locked up for the night, but he drove in and parked. He noticed what had to be Priscilla's blue [Cheetah Classic]. He walked to one of the garages the System directed him to and opened it to find Priscilla with a tied up woman in a chair. One of Kaneko's goons, with her mask off. She was a rather petite drow, far shorter than the both of them at 5'3". She had a slender figure and short black hair.
"This one was tailing me. I only managed to catch her because she slipped." Priscilla said. "I don't know but I think me and my husband may have a rat problem. But I wanted to secure her for you to interrogate her yourself first. How you do that and her fate is up to you." Priscilla said before going out to leave.
The goon's tune changed and Taeko noticed it. The arrogance she front dissipated leaving someone who had a realization.
"Look, if you want information. You need one of her higher ups…and I know the weakest link. Bambi McCullough. She tries to help her hands clean, but she's dirty. Unlike the other crazed loons involved, she's only in it for the money and isn't even open about working with her. She appears to be an independent contractor, but it's a facade. I work her security detail, so I can point you to where she lives. Just let me-"
"Location first." Taeko affirmed.
"She used to live in Staunton, but he's a paranoid bitch. Though considering you clearly are aware of shit, she's pretty justified. She's living it up in a mansion in Cedar Grove. Show me a map and I can point out where." The goon said before he got his phone out for her to do so.
Once she did, she asked if she was going to be freed.
"Yes, but you are not going without consequence. I can't risk it so I'm exiling you." Taeko said untying her. "From the country."
"Can I get my things from my apartment? It's at the North West Towers…" She said as Taeko had an idea.
"Your boss know where you live?" Taeko asked. "And any more goons live out there?"
"No. We meet at places, just never at our homes." The goon said. "And no…they mostly live in Staunton to my knowledge. Some in Portland. We're actually not allowed to live in Burnside…"
"Then come on." Taeko said as she followed.
Priscilla was sitting in her car as they came out.
"I figured you have to torture her…"
"Priscilla, I'm not stupid to think I could withhold shit from a noble. Kaneko thinks he's an idiot unaware of what's going on, and she's clearly wrong." The goon argued.
"She handed me a name. I'll have my people run it." Taeko said. "As for her…I'm getting her things and she's going on a plane out of Yelenhlem."
"Exiling her?" Priscilla said before turning to the goon. "I'll handle that so I'll come with."
They all left for the towers, and the goon didn't bother, only packing what she needed. Under their noses (or so she thought), she packed a stash of cash kept. She wanted to wait until she had more, but the stolen cash would do for now. She left the apartment as Taeko took the key from her.
"Why do you need-Actually never mind…the less I know the better." The former goon remarked before leaving with Priscilla.
"I got a job offer for you if you're willing to play ball." Priscilla said as she was driving. "It'll make you more than you can steal."
The former goon looked mortified at that, but was interested in her offer.
"I'm listening…"
Taeko would return to get Odalia, before returning to the tower.
"Here." Taeko said, giving her the apartment key. "I got this from a former goon of Kaneko's. You should be able to rest there."
"Got any valuable information?" She asked him.
"Bambi McCullough being the weak link." Taeko said as Odalia's face soured.
"I shouldn't be surprised…she acts disgusted by wrongdoing, but she looks the other way because she's too spineless to do anything herself. She'd rather work, make her money, and go home. She's good at her job which is why I never fired her despite how spineless she is…that…and she's ex-military so it'd look bad." Odalia said darkly. "Though it's clear to me that her military career is a complete joke. And now she's living it up in Cedar Grove while leaving me in the gutter."
"We'll deal with her, but not tonight. I need to secure shit, and I texted Rosaria and Minish…they're on their way. Things in Staunton are getting a bit too heavy." Taeko said. "They're setting up shop in Pike Creek, where we'll meet to continue plans for our score. So rest up."
Odalia went inside her apartment as he went up to his, finally completing the mission as he entered.

The apartment's inside ironically looked just like the inside of an ok hotel suite. A desk, a bed, a closet, a kitchenette, a door to a closet, a door to a bathroom and a TV shelf. It was clear that the inside of the place was heavily done up to be rather pleasant…for a hideout. There was even a balcony. He sat on the bed as Rosaria called him.
"You good?" He asked.
"Yeah, we're set up in a warehouse in Pike Creek." Rosaria said before Taeko noticed he had an incoming call from Vernal.
"Got a call from Vernal, I'll need to take this. Later, Ros." Taeko said before hanging up on her to take Vernal's called. "Vernal?"
"Shit's fucked in Staunton. That little slaughter of cops got Makima on edge especially because they were found with Kaneko's goon squad. And yes, I am aware you were responsible. Looks like things between Makima and Kaneko are souring. Helps that Dijonay didn't reveal the only living cop involved in that mess. So if you're going to get at Kaneko, now's the chance. But you'll have to do it with Dijonay's help as her workload increases a bit."
"Ok then, I need you to run a name for me. Bambi McCullough." Taeko said.
"Artesian. The chickenshit." Vernal said. "I was with her in the military. She's a chickenshit…used to be bright eyed, but turns out to be a real coward when push comes to shove. She acts like a girl scout, but it's all bullshit. Let me guess, she's in with Kaneko?"
"Yeah, she is." Taeko said.
"I'd shoot the bitch myself…considering what she did in the military. She's a deadbeat."
"Deadbeat?" Taeko asked curiously. "Go on."
"Oh yeah, you're a noble…so I can air this little secret. Back in the military, years ago…we were in Nicaragua and that idiot got pregnant. The only reason I didn't rat her out was because she knew my…recreational drug use. She hid the pregnancy and gave birth. Come to find out that she never told the father her real name or that she was an elf. The nerve of her…and I'd never get her for it because I was discharged for other reasons. I knew she was working for Odalia, but she went independent shortly before the fallout. But now I think I know Kaneko was taking over and just wanted to cover up the fact she was working with her." Vernal said fuming.
"So a deadbeat and a coward. She'll be easy to deal with…tomorrow morning. For now, hunker down. You can't show your stress." Taeko said.
"Right…get some sleep…we got plenty to do tomorrow." Vernal said before hanging up.
Taeko changed into sleepwear as he leaned back on his bed. He had a lot on his mind, but he noticed he never read the changelog for the update last week. When he did, he was shocked to see Yelenhelm's map had expanded with more towns being shown on the map. Namely, the space that was 'Upstate Liberty' now had towns on it, namely Old Bullworth Vale and Carcer City. The idea of Carcer being his issue got him to blanche, but too add to the walking islands of callbacks, the land that on the highway that connected Portland to Iudicium had Cottonmouth. To his relief, Cottonmouth was considered neutral turf.
"Damn. That's a relief." Taeko said before calling it a night.

And yes, that goon was Poussey, she actually gets a happy end this time around. But yes, we're on to Burnside Vale…soon to be named back to Shoreside Vale soon enough.
