Chapter 23
Dohnaseek gritted his teeth in anger. He wanted nothing but to rip that guy into pieces and feed it to stray dogs. But he knows that right now he can't lose his temper and quickly calmed himself down. He took a deep breath before speaking through the microphone. "Freed, i want you to go and quickly retrieve the excalibur fragment that we were looking for. I will give you the lo..." Before dohnaseek could finish his sentence, he was cut off by freed. "Oh, don't worry my dear shity crow, i already took the sword and just waiting for you on the other side."
Dohnaseek felt very annoyed at getting interrupted between his talk, but he quickly shook his head and spoke once more. "Alright then, good job. I'm bringing the others and soon will meet you on the other side." He told freed before quickly cutting off the connection between him and the maniac.
Dohnaseek harshly took the microphone away and gave it back to the fallen angel who quickly put it back to his ears. "Quickly, tell the rest of them to retrieve and we will leave this place as soon as possible." He told the fallen angel who quickly nodded his head and gave his order through the microphone.
With naruto
Naruto is cautiously looking around for any surprise attacks, but nothing has came. "Where the hell is that donut bastard? Why isn't he attacking?" He asked himself before someone spoke from behind. "I have to say, that was one hell of a fight kid. Who knew that behind that scrawny little body were hiding a fearsome warrior with skills and powers."
Naruto widened his eyes in surprise and quickly spun around to see it was none other than olson who spoke up.
Naruto looked at olson with narrowed eyes. "Where the hell have you been? Do you realize that many of your people were slaughtered by these creatures called fallen angles or what ever they are." Naruto said with a glare.
Olson looked at him and smirked. "That was my plan all along, kid. I wanted to test their skills and see how much they have progressed. And what better way could it be than letting them fight against the fallen angels." He said with a nasty grin formed on his face.
Naruto couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration. "Man, this guy is sick. His mind is so twisted that he dosen't even care about his people. And by the looks of it, he only cares about power but not the people Itself. I can only imagine how hard it was for those orphans who were trained to become evil and demon killing soldiers from their childhood." Naruto thought to himself with pity.
"You shouldn't be that surprised since you were also being trained to become a child soldier." Shinten said from the subconscious.
"Yeah shinten, i know that very well. And that's the reason why i don't like innocent children throwing their childhood just to become child soldiers." Naruto said to shinten who only shook his head in amusement. "Funny, coming from the one who always used to shout, i will become an awesome ninja and soon will become the greatest hokage in history!" Shinten said in a teasing tone while trying his best to imitate his voice.
Naruto's cheeks got red in embarrassment. "S-shut up, i was just a kid. And besides, i have a good reason why i wanted to become hokage."
Shinten looked at naruto and gave him a smirk. "Oh, let me guess, to get the people's acknowledgment?"
Naruto gave a soft chuckle before shaking his head. "No, not really. That was my previous reason to become hokage. During the time when i was a small brat, people used to hate me like I was some sort of disease or something. I was beaten inch by inch of my life and no one showed any mercy. Everyone, elders, middle ages, and even other children always ignored me like i didn't even exist. So i was extremely desperate for any attention that i can get from the people just so i can tell myself that i exist for a reason. So i decided that i will become hokage to gain people's acknowledgment to justify my own existence, to say to myself that i actually exist. But after meeting per..." He was about to say pervy-sage but quickly stopped himself and just shook his head. "After meeting my master who taught me almost everything that i have missed in the past, i realized that my reason for becoming hokage were a bit selfish. I practically had no idea what it truly means to be a hokage." He told shinten in his mind while dropping real tears from his eyes.
Shinten couldn't help but feel like an asshole for bringing such a touchy subject and making it into a joke. He knew from his memories what kind of hardships his partner had faced. But listening to this from himself is a totally different thing. He was about to apologize to naruto before he was interrupted by olson.
"Aaaaah, what is this? Is our little warrior actually crying? Did i just brought up some bad memories? Well don't worry, mamma will be here to comfort you from your distress." He said in a such a girlish voice that made naruto's skin crawl in disgust.
"Oh, i forgot, you don't even have one in the first place. You are alone in this world and have no one to support. No mother, no father, no brother or sister, no cousin, no friends, no comrades, no one. You are all alone." Olson said with a mock tone in his voice.
Naruto didn't say anything and just stared at the ground with tears falling from his cheeks. His eyes were covered by the shadows of his bangs. From the outside, he was stoic and emotionless. But from the inside, shinten can sense a huge built up negative emotion flowing from his heart. Naruto is shinten's vessel. His soul is connected with naruto's. So whatever naruto is thinking, he can see it, hear it, and can even feel it.
Currently, naruto started to imagine all his friends and comrades deaths right in front of his eyes. He hear every single person begging to him to save their lives. He wanted to help, but he can't do anything. All he can do is just stand there and watch them getting crushed and annihilated by the moon. When the moon has entered the atmosphere, he suddenly heard olson's previous statement. "No mother, no father, no brother or sister, no cousin, no friends, no comrades, no one. You are all alone." His statement echoed through his mind.
The moon is few miles away from the ground. The ground started to shake violently, like an enormous earthquake wanted to split the whole planet in half. The pressure of the wind was so high that no one could move even a single muscle and just stared at their approaching death with horror on their eyes. 3. 2. 1.
"Boom!"
Naruto's eyes widened in horror when he saw the whole planet getting destroyed by the moon. The whole planet just exploded in a super nova and soon, everything, even the explosion has disappeared in a small particals and all it's left is darkness.
Naruto just stared at the place where the planet was once were and suddenly, olson's last statement has echoed through his mind. "You are alone..."
Naruto stared at the nothingness around him and silently shed tears from his eyes. "I..i'm alone." He said to himself while letting his tears freely fall from his eyes.
Shinten, who just saw everything naruto has just imagined, couldn't help but shed a drop of tear from the corner of his eye. He couldn't help but think about his own family that he made on another planet, and saw it getting destroyed just like how naruto has imagined about his.
Quickly wiping the last tear from his eye, he looked at naruto from the subconscious and shouted to him. "Naruto! What the hell are you thinking. I thought you have already moved on from your past." Naruto flinched at hearing shinten's voice and stopped shedding tears from his eyes, while he silently just stared at the emptiness with no emotions showing on his face. "Or was i wrong about that! Was i wrong about you having an unbreakable spirit that never lets down whatever the situation is, an unbreakable will that never gives up! Was i wrong about all that? Are you truly naruto uzumaki!?"
Naruto widened his eyes when he heard the question. "Am i truly naruto uzumaki?" He asked the same question to himself, before he looked down at his hand and stared at it for a few moments before he clinched his fist tighter. He closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening it once more, revealing two sapphire blue eyes. For normal people, those two eyes would be just normal. But if they look closely, they will see a spark of determination in his eyes. A spark that's ignited once more.
"The will of fire!"
