The next morning, Jay woke up feeling a burning sensation next to him. He turned to see Kim lying beside him, her face flushed and covered in sweat, tissues scattered around her.
"Kim?" Jay whispered, his concern growing. He gently shook her shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?"
Kim stirred, opening her eyes slowly. "I think I caught your bug," she mumbled, her voice weak.
Jay's heart sank. "I'm so sorry, Kim," he said, feeling guilty. "You should have stayed away from me."
Kim managed a small smile. "It's not your fault, Jay. I wanted to be here for you."
Jay sighed, feeling a mix of gratitude and worry. "Let's get you comfortable," he said, helping her sit up. He grabbed a fresh tissue and wiped her forehead gently.
Downstairs, the rest of the unit was starting to wake up. Hearing movement, Will came up to check on Jay and found them both looking unwell. "Oh no, Kim too?" he asked, his concern evident.
Jay nodded. "Yeah, she caught it from me."
Will sighed, shaking his head. "Alright, let's get you both taken care of. Jay, you rest. I'll take care of Kim."
Jay reluctantly agreed, lying back down. Will helped Kim to the bathroom to freshen up and then settled her back in bed with some water and medicine.
The unit, now fully awake, gathered in the living room, ready to support their friends. "Looks like we've got two patients now," Kevin said, trying to keep the mood light.
"Good thing we're all here," Lindsay added.
Kim suddenly retched, unable to hold it back, and vomited all over herself.
Jay, despite his own weakness, quickly sat up and gently held her hair back, trying to comfort her. "It's okay, Kim," he whispered, his voice soothing. "Just let it out."
Kim sobbed into the bucket, her body shaking with each heave.
Jay continued to hold her hair and rub her back, offering what little comfort he could. "I'm here," he repeated softly, his heart aching for her.
Downstairs, the unit heard the commotion and exchanged worried glances. "Sounds like Kim's having a rough time," Lindsay said, her voice filled with concern.
"We should check on them," Kevin suggested, already moving towards the stairs.
Voight nodded. "Let's make sure they have everything they need."
As the team made their way upstairs, they found Jay and Kim in the midst of the difficult moment. "Hey, we're here to help," Antonio said gently, stepping into the room.
Kim looked up, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry," she whispered, feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed.
"Don't be," Voight said firmly. "We're all here for you."
The unit quickly sprang into action, helping to clean up and make Kim more comfortable.
Jay, still holding her, felt a wave of gratitude for his friends. "Thanks, guys," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Jay knew Kim needed to feel clean and comfortable, so he carefully helped her into the bathroom. "Let's get you cleaned up," he said softly, guiding her to the bathtub.
Kim leaned on him for support, her body still weak. "Thanks, Jay," she murmured, grateful for his care.
Jay filled the tub with warm water and gently helped Kim in. He grabbed a washcloth and some soap, then knelt beside the tub. "Just relax, okay?" he said, his voice soothing.
Kim nodded, closing her eyes as she sank into the warm water. Jay dipped the washcloth in the water and began to gently scrub her arms and shoulders, being careful not to hurt her.
As he worked, he spoke softly, trying to keep her calm. "You're doing great, Kim. Just let the water do its job."
Kim sighed, feeling a bit more at ease. "This feels nice," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jay smiled, continuing to wash her gently. "Good. You deserve to feel better."
Downstairs, the unit waited patiently, knowing Jay was taking good care of Kim. "They're in good hands," Voight said, his voice filled with confidence.
"Yeah, Jay's got this," Kevin agreed, his expression one of quiet support.
As Jay finished scrubbing Kim, he helped her rinse off and then wrapped her in a soft towel. "Let's get you back to bed," he said, guiding her carefully.
Kim leaned on him, feeling a bit more refreshed. "Thanks, Jay," she said again, her gratitude evident.
Jay smiled, his heart full of care for his friend. "Anytime, Kim. Let's get you comfortable."
With Jay's gentle care and the support of their friends, Kim knew she was in good hands and would get through this tough time.
Jay carefully helped Kim back to bed, making sure she was comfortable and wrapped in a warm blanket. He sat beside her, holding her hand. "Just rest now, Kim. You're going to be okay," he said softly.
Kim nodded, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. "Thanks, Jay. For everything," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Jay smiled gently. "Anytime, Kim. Get some sleep."
Downstairs, the unit continued to keep a watchful eye, ready to assist if needed. They knew that Jay and Kim were in good hands with each other and felt a deep sense of camaraderie and support.
As the day went on, Jay and Kim both began to feel a bit better, the worst of the stomach bug slowly passing. The unit took turns checking on them, bringing water, and offering words of encouragement.
By the evening, Jay and Kim were able to sit up and share a quiet moment together. "We made it through," Jay said, his voice filled with relief.
Kim smiled weakly, but there was a spark of strength in her eyes. "Yeah, we did. Thanks to you and everyone else."
Jay nodded, feeling a deep sense of gratitude for his friends. "We're a team. We take care of each other."
