Chapter 43 – Yusei is Captured, Again
It's early in the morning, 4 am to be exact. No less than ten hours have passed since the Signers have defeated the Psychic duelists sent to assassinate them. Over at the abode of Crow, Jack, Bruno, and Yusei, all four have taken to getting some shut eye. They can't save Aki without their rest.
As they do, someone pulls open the window seal and slips inside. This person around the size of a child wearing a hood and mask sneaks over to a certain bedroom. They tiptoe close to a nightstand and see a deck of cards. Hands shift through before a white card flips out.
"Stardust Dragon," says the thief before proceeding to pocket the card.
"So that's what you were after." That's when the lights go on. Looking over at the bed the thief spots Yusei wide awake staring.
"Eh?!"
"After having Stardust stolen from me before, and being broken into previously, I wasn't going to let the next thief come and go so easily."
The thief panics, running away to the front door. On the way, someone stands into the path to freedom. It's Lua and Luca, the latter saying, "We wake up early too."
The thief flips out before he's captured, lifted in the air by Jack Atlas. The crimson king rips off the hood and pulls off the mask.
"Eh? Sly?!" says Luca seeing the boy's face.
"Hey, that IS Sly!" Lua realizes.
"Hey, yeah…" Crow comes in with Yusei, recognizing the kid as the one who showed up when Lua needed help against Heitmann. "What's he doing here?"
"He was stealing Stardust Dragon," Yusei tells everyone, eyes on the card in his pocket.
"But, why? Why Sly?" asks Luca out of genuine concern.
"Name seems off now," Crow chuckles.
"Really?"
"Someone had to say it," he tells Jack.
"He told me now would be the best time! That I'd never get a chance except for this!" he replies, still struggling while trying not to mess with the card.
"He?" Yusei looks over at Sly, eyes narrowed when he puts it together. "Are you talking about Divine?"
The boy gives a nod. "What does he have to do with this?"
Before the boy can answer, a shadow forms underneath the door. Within seconds, the door bursts open accompanied by fire. Everyone flies to the ground in pain, including Sly. From the blazing doorway enters someone, who flies forth and grabs hold of the boy. It throws him out of the home, into the arms of its controller.
"Let's go," says the woman, running off with the boy.
Getting up quick, Yusei rushes out the door. He recognizes the voice after all. "Sherry!"
He rushes out chasing for her. Seeing the woman has boarded her D-Wheel and driven away, he quickly reenters the garage to board his. His friends call out to him as he gives chase, bursting through the opening doors to follow her.
"Yusei!" Jack's words fall on deaf ears. He quickly boards his D-Wheel to give chase. Before he can leave, the twins have thrown on their own gear and leave out.
"Lua! Luca!" shouts Bruno, his words ignored despite that.
"Damn it, why are they going?!" Crow shouts, a little slower to getting to his vehicle due to his arm still injured.
As they hit the road, Jack immediately catches up with the twins in their pajamas and skateboard gear. He asks, "Oi, what the hell are you kids doing?!"
"Sly is our classmate," Luca tells the white rider, "so we need to get answers."
"I didn't want to think he'd do something like this," Lua begins, always being the one at odds with Sly, "but I'm going to slug him good after he explains why."
Silent at first, Jack says, "Fine, but be sure to keep up."
The trio speed off. Up above on a building, someone slides down to follow.
Elsewhere…
Down the road, Yusei continues until he comes across Sherry. But, Sly is nowhere to be seen.
"Sherry!" Yusei dismounts and approaches her. "What are you doing working for Divine?"
She turns to face Yusei, her once beautiful emerald orbs now a cold jaded shade. She heartlessly eyes down Yusei.
"Sherry…"
"She can't hear you, Yusei." A new voice enters the scene. Coming out of hiding is what looks to be the Black Rose Witch he's seen in the video.
Seeing her, Yusei gasps a little. He's seen that mask before; he's cracked it too. "You…"
"Yes, Yusei. You've come to rescue me, haven't you-"
"Who are you?" is his simple response, asking the most important question. "Where is Aki?"
Taken back, she corrects herself and says, "What are you saying? It's me, Aki-"
"You're really going to go for that…" Now Yusei sounds angry. "I asked you two questions!"
Defeated, Saeko grips the mask and pulls it down, revealing herself as Saeko. A little annoyed that he caught her, she asks, "How did you know?"
"Aki would never wear that costume again, even if she was forced by Divine. And that's before I saw a video of you with Aki."
His words catches Saeko off guard. She was going to trick him and make this easier, but if he's smart enough, then there's only the other option. But still… "You realized it so soon… that makes me want you even more."
She raises her hand and releases a burst of psychic energy, sending Yusei flying across the ground. With him incapacitated, Saeko activates her Duel Disk before a magic card activates. "Poisonous Winds."
A wind blows by Yusei, causing him to lose his consciousness. Once it takes effect, Saeko cackles before walking to him. "I have you now…"
Back to Action…
Jack, Lua, and Luca chase after Yusei, having lost him long since. Worried about what may happen, they notice something up ahead near the connection to the Neo Daedalus Bridge. There is Sly, running away.
"Sly!" Luca shouts, moving towards him.
Jack curves around to block off his escape. The boy looks around in fear, unable to flee. The crimson duelist dismounts, ready to once more manhandle the child. "No more games, kid. Where's Yusei?"
"I… I don't know. She let me off here before driving away," he tells them, still holding the card he took.
"Give back that card. It doesn't belong to you," says Luca.
"No! He doesn't deserve a one of a kind card like this! Not if he just gives it to people who can't use it right!" says Sly in retaliation.
Lua, silent yet stirring, asks, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It's not fair that such a beautiful, awesome card exists and no one else gets one for themselves. I could use it better than anyone else, but he would rather give it to losers like you and that witch girl." Seeing himself cornered, Sly activates his Duel Disk.
"Sly?"
"I've wanted it the whole time, but I could never get a chance to take it. Not until Uncle Divine helped me out."
"Uncle Divine?!"
"He said he'd help me get away with it. And I did. So now it's mine." He prepares himself. "And if you want it back, you'll have to win it in a duel!"
Sighing, Lua storms forward. "Hey, wait! That's too close-"
Without warning, without care, and without hesitation, Lua slams his Duel Disk into Sly's face. The boy falls over with a bloody nose, disturbed by Lua's surprisingly violent behavior. "Argh! My nose!"
"Why the hell should we duel someone like you?" Lua angrily storms forth overtop Sly. "A duel is between two people who should respect one another. You don't deserve any respect for stealing Yusei's card just because you think you deserve it!"
"But it's wasted on-" Lua punches him again.
"Who are you to decide that?! What have you done to prove you deserve that card more than Yusei?! Nothing!" He shoves Sly back to the ground before pulling out Stardust Dragon.
"S-Stardust Dragon!"
"This is Yusei's card. No one else's. Who he lends it to is his decision." Lua walks away while holding the card up.
"Hold it!" Looking over, Lua spots someone on a Duel Board fly over his head. The person nabs the card in his surprise.
Lucciano lands, sliding to a halt with a cackle. Seeing him, the twins angrily state, "Lucciano!"
"Aw, you remember me? That's sweet!" he says while showing off Stardust Dragon.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Jack demands in rage, all ignoring the beatened Sly on the floor.
"Placido had the right idea to keep an eye on you bums," he explains, "so when I saw you guys dealing with psychics I thought of an opportunity. And now, we have Yusei's Stardust Dragon."
"Give it back!" Lua shouts.
"No way." Lucciano sounds more serious here. "After that little stunt, we're more than concerned with Yusei and the card he got from God. So we're going to tie him down." He holds Stardust up to them. "You want it back? Come get it."
"Fine! We're sick of you people stealing-"
"Wait, Jack," says Lua as he steps forward, holding back the crimson king. Jack is just about to yell at him, but the determined look in his eyes tells him not to. "I'll do it."
"You?! After what happened last time?" Lucciano laughs at him once more, before slipping the card away. "Sure thing. But, I'm taking that Lifestream Dragon of yours."
"Deal."
"Lua!" He holds a hand out to his sister.
"I'm going to win this. Don't worry," he says with a nod staring at Lucciano.
Lua turns on his Duelboard, as does his opponent. The two then take off, Momentum activating to power their duel. Jack and Luca follow after in their machines.
"DUEL!"
Lua: 4000
Lucciano: 4000
"I'll begin the duel. Draw!" Lucciano draws for his turn, the infinity symbol forming below them. "I summon Sky Core in defense mode!"
Sky Core forms above the Emperor. He sets one card facedown after that.
Narrowing his eyes, Lua draws for his turn. 'Damage will become real now…' "I summon Deformer Boomboxen!"
A boombox forms onto the field, before turning into a red and gray transforming robot.
Boomboxen: 1200/400 (4)
"In attack mode, Boomboxen can attack twice!"
"You think I'm going to let you do this?! I activate Torrential Tribute!" Lucciano's trap unleashes a flood upon the world, destroying Boomboxen and Sky Core, leaving nothing left.
Lua shields himself as his monster disappears, before watching the expected happen. Sky Core opens up, and from it spring five monsters: Kikoutei Skiel Infinity, Skiel Top, Skiel Attack, Skiel Guard, and Skiel Carrier.
"Combine, Kikoutei Skiel!" His machine parts combine, turning into the aerial machine emperor Skiel. As all five monsters become one, it faces Lua in a threatening manner.
"Well, what are you going to do now? Set a card and end your turn?" Lucciano mocks, before flinching when he sees Lua summoning a new monster.
Cyber Dragon: 2100/1600 (5)
"If you are the only person who controls a monster, I can special summon this card from my hand," he tells him confidently. He then shouts, "And, there is one monster I have that can be special summoned by sending it and Machine monsters on the field to the graveyard!"
"Monsters? But you only have one monster!" says Lucciano while looking at his field.
"Who said they had to be mine?" Now is when Lua smirks, as Skiel quickly breaks apart.
Lucciano pales as his emperor is torn apart and turned into scraps, before reassembling onto Cyber Dragon. The mechanical dragon grows in size, turning into the titanic machine that towers over all. "Come out, Chimeratech Fortress Dragon!"
Chimeratech: 0/0 (8)
"What the hell is that?!"
"Chimeratech Fortress Dragon can be special summoned by sending Cyber Dragon and any number of Machine monsters in my hand to the graveyard. And it gains 1000 atk for each Machine used."
Chimeratech: 6000
"6 grand!?" Lucciano shouts in shock.
"I bet you wished you hadn't taken Stardust now, do you?" states Lua defiantly.
"Okay, okay!" Lucciano, in a panicking mood, takes out Stardust and shows it to him. "I'll give it to you, alright?"
He tosses the card back to Lua, who catches it with fair difficulty. Sighing, the boy pockets the card before turning to Lucciano. "Battle!"
"… eh?"
"Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, direct attack!" The dragon turns to its side, revealing multiple panels that open up and reveal smaller Cyber Dragons. Each one charges up and fires directly upon Lucciano.
"Wait-wait-wait-wait-WAIT-" He gets blown away, life immediately reduced to zero. Lucciano flies, sprawled across the ground with his arm getting torn off in the process.
As the smoke clears, Lua stares with discontent at the redheaded emperor. Even as he rises back to his feet, his body sparking to expose his mechanical origin, Lucciano is enraged. "You… you were going to blast me from the beginning!"
"Of course. You tricked me, so why not?"
Angered, Lucciano runs off, shouting, "I'll remember this!"
…
Drip. Drip. Drip.
These are the sounds that Yusei awakens to. He looks up to see himself in some waterlogged basement. The breeze tells him there's an air flow. More than that, he finds himself chained; his arms and legs are bound to a chair.
"This is familiar…"
"Welcome to my dungeon, Yusei Fudo." That voice is familiar too. Looking up, he sees Divine coming forth with Sherry and Saeko by his side. "Although, it's just an abandoned house ruined by that storm."
"Divine! What is this all about?!"
His manic grin slowly spreads. "You're about to find out."
Lightz: I'd like to apologize for not being able to post on the 13th, but that's the website's fault. And, I'm sick of it. From now on, this account is going to close sooner than planned.
But don't worry! This story will be uploaded over on my DeviantArt account CrownClown13. It'll be from start to finish, so there will be a wait period until I get to chapter 44. It's time to leave this site like I should have a long time ago.
