Roselyn and Jason had kept conversation lite after Chibi-Usa had finished her bento, which she ate with the speed of Usagi herself. They played a couple games of cards, as well as Pictionary and charades. Realizing it was getting close to supper Roselyn sent Jason to update the others before joining her in taking the child home.
Jason swooped Chibi-Usa up on to his shoulders as he met them outside the building. "Small Lady, would you mind if we asked you some more questions To get to know you better."
Chibi-Usa inhaled, 'Can I say no? What is the worst they can ask?' in the end she nodded.
The teens shared a look. "What do your parents do for work? I mean for them to leave you it must be important, right?"
Chibi-Usa nodded this was an easy one and she didn't have to really lie. "Yup. They are diplomats and responsible to help keep the peace."
"Wow! That really is important work. Do you know where they are stationed?"
This one was harder, "They can't tell me. It could put lives at risk."
Jason looked doubtfully at Roselyn. "Where do you live? When they aren't abroad."
"In a beautiful home overlooking a city on an island." Chibi-Usa answered vaguely describing the view and location of the crystal palace.
[She is being intentionally vague.]
Jason nodded, "You said you had cats?" the child nodded. "What are their names?"
"I just got a new kitten named Diana."
[Did she just deflect your question?] Roselyn asked with a laugh. The couple resigned to the fact they weren't going to get any more useful information from her tonight.
"Favorite color?"
"Pink."
"Favorite food?"
"Pancakes."
They continued taking turns asking her questions until they arrived at the Tsukino's house. Ikuko was very grateful for the teens taking Chibi-Usa for the day and bringing her back safe after the tragedy at the school. "Thank you, both for spending the day with my niece." Ikuko said as she greeted them at the door.
"Yes, thank you. I had a lot of fun," Chibi-Usa said giving the two teens hugs after Jason put her on the ground.
"In appreciation I insist you join us for supper. Usagi should be here shortly." Ikuko said inviting them into her home.
"I believe my brother was taking Usagi for supper after they finished their homework." Roselyn said to her friend's mother. "I am glad you brought Usagi up though. I was talking to her and Mamoru regarding school. I just got my own apartment across from my brother's and will be joining Usagi's school tomorrow and was hoping that you would allow Usagi to stay with me for this week to help me get around." Roselyn explained as they followed Ikuko and Chibi-Usa inside.
Seated around the table Ikuko took the time to ask Roselyn and Jason questions about themselves and Mamoru. Kenji was working late, meaning this was up to Ikuko to decide on. The teens seemed nice enough and if she trusted her niece with them why couldn't she trust her daughter with them. "What about school? And homework?"
"I must be at school the same time as Usagi. So, if she is late it means I am late which would upset my parents and possibly lead them to make me move home." Roselyn said truthfully. "As for homework it would be the same. I promise as long as she is staying with me, she will be on time with her homework complete."
With Roselyn's promise that Usagi wouldn't miss any school and that she would make sure her homework was completed as well. How could a Ikuko say no. Smiling she got up from the table, "My daughter is lucky to have such good friends. Have her stop by and grab some clothes, her uniform and anything else she will need."
Roselyn nodded as she got up to help clean up, before heading home.
Mamoru finally woke up and downed some Tylenol before asking, "Can I go and lay down in my own bed?"
Minako nodded, "Sure, but I would rather not take any risks."
[She doesn't want us sleeping in the same apartment.] Usagi pouted, "What about the bond?"
"Let's see how far we can separate you two." She paused as everyone looked at her. Usagi and Mamoru looked nervous. "We will need to know for tomorrow, either way… for school."
Mamoru swallowed in understanding. He stood up and closed his eyes to focus on the nightmare. Opening his eyes he walked out the door followed by Kevin and made his way to his apartment and his bed.
The senshi watched Usagi very closely for any sign of discomfort but the only change was her mood.
Kevin returned and confirmed, "Endy is resting in his room. He is not happy."
"Neither am I." Usagi grumbled.
Makoto smiled, "We are just trying to look out for your beat interest."
Ami looked at her friend, "What would have happened had we not showed up when we did? How would you and Mamoru have dealt with the emotional and potential physical consequences?"
Usagi sat chewing on her lip and stewing. [They are making good points.] The couple agreed. [I am still not happy.]
"OK. Ami how far is Juban Junior High from Azuba High school?" Minako asked.
"Around 2-3 Kilometers." (AN: No idea the real distance so picked what a felt was a reasonable distance.)
"Usagi, time to go for a walk. Kevin, go stay with Mamoru." She said passing him her communicator, before adding, "No. The answer is no I do not care if he likes it or not. We need to know how they both react to the distance." Kevin nodded and motioned for Zach to follow him back to the prince's apartment.
Makoto grabbed Usagi's arm, and the Senshi headed for the elevator. They tried to make small talk and catch up on what had been going on since the battle with Baryl, but Usagi seemed to be giving the silent treatment in protest. Ami kept track of distance using her minicomputer, while Minako used the blue haired senshi's communicator to talk to Kevin and Zach as they monitored Mamoru.
The senshi made it to the park and started to turn toward the Tsukino home as they really had no specific destination just as long as it was the three kilometers. Then suddenly as they reached the far entrance to the park screams broke out in pain and Usagi collapsed to the ground holding her head.
"Kevin? Usagi just collapsed." Minako said as Ami moved to check on their leader. Makoto picking the prone girl up as she started walking back toward the apartments.
Back at the apartment Kevin finally heard the communicator. "Sorry, Mina. Endy came out of his room in a rage and holding his head." Kevin apologized for not responding right away.
"If you ask me, they started feeling the distance a while ago and were both being stubborn." Zach said through the communicator, as he glared at the still enraged prince.
"From the death stare we just got I must agree with Zach. Endy? When did it start?"
"Bring me my princess, NOW!" Was the only response as Mamoru stood ready to fight the two generals to get to Usagi as he couldn't hear her thoughts (As she is unconscious.)
"Mamoru," Came Roselyn's voice. "I could feel your anger from a block away. If you aren't careful, you will cause an earthquake which could get Usagi hurt." She gingerly made her way to her brother.
Mamoru nodded, knowing his sister spoke truthfully. He closed his eyes and began taking some deep breaths. "The senshi are on their way back." She paused looking for confirmation from the generals who showed her the open communicator and nodded. "They will be here soon, and you are in no condition to help Usagi."
Mamoru opened his eyes glared at the other occupants of the room and went to get some air. The generals whispered, "Thank you." His sisters were the only other people besides Usagi who could calm Endymion once he got upset. Roselyn sat down and waved to the generals indicating that her brother and her were fine and that they could leave.
Roselyn had been right the senshi and Usagi had returned in just under twenty minutes. Usagi rushed past Roselyn and into Mamoru's arms. After they had a couple minutes on the balcony Roselyn spoke up, "I talked to your mother when we dropped off Chibi-Usa. She is under the impression that you two were studying and then having supper."
The couple came inside Mamoru still frowning at the senshi, while Roselyn continued, "I also got her to give you permission to stay with ME. You will be staying with ME for this week to help me acclimate to Tokyo. So, you are to go home and get an overnight bag with anything you will need this week."
Usagi smiled as she snuggled into Mamoru's side at this unexpected development, "Thank you. Rose. We can go get some dinner and grab my stuff now."
Makoto and Minako stepped in their way. "Is it safe for us to leave you two alone?"
Usagi smiled as she caressed Mamoru telepathically to stop him from pouncing on her senshi. "We will be fine. No matter what I am not having my first time in a car."
The senshi shared a look not sure if she was serious or joking. Usagi laughed and changed the topic. "We made it to the fountain before I started to feel any discomfort. Now I want to be able to get my stuff before it gets too late." With that the couple squeezed past and into the hallway.
Ami started typing and frowned, "That is just under two kilometers, and she passed out at three and a half kilometers."
Minako sighed and turned to look after the couple, "Hopefully that will be enough.
Just down the hall Jason was giving Nathan the information that Roselyn and him had been able to get from Chibi-Usa, how useful it would be? He didn't know.
