Blossom immediately slams her foot down on the ground causing rows of jagged ice, like a wave rising from the sea, to shoot out towards Boomer. The blonde boy sees this giant mass of ice quickly shooting towards him and begins to get in a runner's pose. Electricity starts to appear on the boy's feet until finally, he darts off. Boomer, being blessed by Vaeus, can channel the power of wind and shoot it out from his own body. Using this ability he shoots the wind directly from his own lower half pushing him forward and effectively granting him super speed, he just likes to add the electricity so he looks cool. Boomer sprints around the arena dodging the ice and starts running circles around Blossom. The redhead girl stops her ice dead in its tracks and starts following the boy with her eyes, watching his feet and trying to see just how fast he's going all while a lightning bolt shoots out from Boomer and hits the ice wall, shattering it instantly. Boomer picks up speed and the dirt in the circle starts almost levitating in place. Blossom realizes Boomer is creating a tornado around her and just as she realizes she feels the air being dragged out of her almost by force. She tries to inhale but nothing happens, Boomer just runs faster and faster. She watches as he runs until eventually raising her hand, creating an icicle that she holds tightly. Without a second thought, the girl launches the icicle directly at Boomer slamming it into his leg, sending him flying forward. Blossom falls to her knees gasping for air and coughing, she never knew Boomer's speed had become such a problem, the last time they fought he was barely faster than her, he had hit an entirely new level of speed.
Boomer starts rolling through the dirt as he tumbles forward, barely stopping himself at the circle's edge. The boy skids to a stop before collecting himself and turning to Blossom. He spots her down on the ground catching her breath and immediately pulls his hand back. As his hand extends pure lightning begins to form in it, sparking and forming jagged edges, until a lightning bolt is fully formed. Boomer throws the bolt at the girl only for a wall of ice to appear, shattering instantly from the blow. Blossom stands up and stares the boy down while Boomer stretches his legs out. "No hard feelings right?" Boomer says with a smile. Blossom stares for a bit longer, going over plans in her mind of how she could take him down. She realizes a way to get him out she just has to buy a bit of time. "So when'd you get so fast? I mean it's a huge step up from your last speed," Blossom says trying to keep the boy's attention. Lucky for her Boomer loves to talk. "Well I mean I was always fast i just had to figure out how to train it. I mean it's a bit hard to run until you're tired when you're fast enough to run 2 marathons without stopping ya know?" The boy says. Blossom glances down at the ground. She just needs a bit more time. "Well, what about the wind? Why not just use it to fly then, why just run?" Boomer stands for a second thinking about it. "I guess I never thought about that before. I mean maybe but I really just think the whole super speed is like waaay cooler," he says. Blossom smiles at Boomer knowing her plan worked. "Yeah that checks out," she says. Without a second word, she charges for the boy. Boomer goes to run only for his foot to not move. He looks down and sees a trail of ice leading from Blossom's foot to his. She froze the ground and him all while distracting him with talking. Sometimes Boomer forgets just how smart she can be. Before he could shatter the ice Boomer felt something cold slam into his stomach knocking the air out of him. Boomer falls to his knees and starts to stand just to see Blossom in front of him with a hammer made of pure ice. She brings the hammer behind her and Boomer feels his heartbeat faster and faster with each passing second realizing that the hammer is about to find a new home in his chest. Now that he thinks about it it sure does feel like a lot of seconds are passing. He looks at Blossom realizing she's moving slower than usual. No that can't be it, he looks at the rest of the group on the sideline and sees they're moving slower too. Boomer looks down at his hands and realizes he's the only one moving normally. Blossom's hammer slowly moves towards Boomer while he looks around. He shoots a bolt of lightning at the ground shattering the ice enough to pull his foot out of it. He turns around and realizes just how close he is to the edge, if Blossom's hammer hit him it would have completely knocked him out of the ring, talk about good timing. Boomer walks around the girl and watches as she continues to swing not even realizing Boomer is no longer there. The boy feels his heartbeat slow down until it returns to a normal pace along with the rest of the world.
Blossom swings her hammer and hits absolutely nothing. She turns around quickly and sees the boy standing there. Full of nothing but confusion she questions him. "How the hell did you do that?" Boomer says nothing for a bit until eventually he opens his mouth. "I'd be lying if I said I knew but it was totally awesome." Boomer claps his hands together and begins to press them against each other. Crackles of electricity begin to shoot out as he pulls them apart until eventually, his hands are separated leaving Boomer holding something bright. He hits it against the ground and bolts spark out of it until it takes a form resembling a baseball bat. "Sorry to copy your whole style there but I mean it's not fair if only you get a weapon right?" Blossom stands in awe as she squints at the bat, the light it emits blinding her the longer she stares at it. Since when did Boomer get this strong, she remembers when he could barely hold lightning without shocking himself and everyone near, had Boomer really grown that much in the years? Before she could even finish her thought Boomer was already charging at her with his bat raised behind him. Boomer swings but Blossom blocks it with the hammer causing sparks to fly off. As she blocked the first attack Boomer used his speed to get behind her for another strike only for ice to shoot up behind her forming a wall. The boy darts off to her side but Blossom already turned to face that way, raising her hammer to block another attack. As the attacks connect the hammer cracks, Blossom realizes she doesn't have much left to defend herself with. Boomer shoots off and Blossom turns to block another attack and as they connect, the hammer explodes, sending ice shards everywhere. Boomer feels the jagged broken ice shoot off, one cutting his leg a bit, and jumps back to avoid further damage. As soon as his feet touch the ground he darts off towards her again. This time his attack connects directly slamming into her side and sending electricity straight through her body, Boomer raises his hand and shoots wind at the girl sending her flying backwards. Blossom lets out a yell in pain as she falls to the ground, the feeling of the shock still lingering. Brick watches from the sidelines as Blossom yells and clenches his fist, he can feel his hands growing hot as he watches the fight.
Blossom starts to breathe deeply and stares at the ground. There has to be some way out of this for her. Boomer walks over to the girl with his bat to his side. "Gotta hand it to you Blossom that whole plan of yours was super smart I mean I never would've even thought of that but summoning that hammer back there? I mean that was just cold," Boomer stops talking and chuckles. His chuckle becomes a full-on laugh. "Cold! Oh man, I just got that I am HILLARIOUS!" the boy says wiping a tear from his eye and sighs. He goes to swing his bat at Blossom but another ice wall shoots up and shatters on impact.
Blossom rolls backward and launches another ice wall as Boomer swings his bat again. She shoots ice at his feet freezing him in place, and stands up to ready herself knowing the ice can't hold him back. Boomer slams his bat on the ground shattering the ice only for the pieces of ice to stop mid-air and shoot off toward him. The ice hits his hand and reforms around it, the weight causing Boomer's hand to weigh more making it harder to swing his bat. Boomer forces the lightning making up his bat to return into his hand and blow up the ice from the energy overloading. But just as the ice shatters he sees Blossom standing calmly, her hand raised behind her, and her breath growing more and more visible as she pants. Boomer feels a chill run down his spine and just before he can move out of the way Blossom's arm shoots out and ice slams into him. Boomer lets out a scream as the ice pushes him back and uses his wind to shoot directly into the air but Blossom already planned for it, as he shoots up ice follows and freezes around his leg stopping him mid-air. Boomer screams as he feels his muscles tear from the sudden stop but it's too late for him, Blossoms already won. Boomer screams more as he forces electricity to shoot out of his leg shattering the ice, but just as it breaks and he begins to fall a block of ice slams into his face sending him flying backwards. Blood pours out of Boomer's nose, the block breaking his nose on impact, as he flies backward barely conscious until he slams into the ground just outside of the circle. Zhang rushes into the circle once more and grabs the girl by her hand and raises it high. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Blossom is our winner!" Brick tightens his jaw as he sees Zhang touch her.
Bubbles dashes over to Boomer's side and immediately starts healing his injuries to make sure he doesn't fall unconscious. "Did I win?" The boy mutters as Bubbles heals him. She looks him in the eyes and smiles. "Almost Boomie. You almost did," she says. Boomer's nose was broken, the muscles in his left leg were torn from the force of the ice stopping him, and he was barely awake from the ice slamming into his head but Bubbles knew she could fix him, she always did. As Bubbles took care of Boomer's injuries Brick and Butch walked into the circle and began to stare each other down. It didn't take a genius to see the two were angry with each other and Zhang himself immediately noticed.
Zhang starts walking Blossom out of the circle, her body still a bit numb from the shock Boomers gave her. Seeing the girl limp and lean on Zhang for support only enraged Brick more, fire now coming out his mouth as he exhaled it. Butch noticing this immediately makes jokes. "Aww would ya look at that. Bricks getting a little jealous." The boy begins to laugh as he makes kissy faces at his brother. Brick's cheeks turn red as he hears the joke, he looks back at Blossom to see her sitting on the side while Zhang walks back into the circle. "You know Butch, I just hope Buttercup can forgive me for beating her boyfriend senseless." The red-haired boy says with a smile. Buttercup feels her face heat up after what Brick says but doesn't call him out on it. Zhang sits for a bit and lets the two stare each other down before his hand raises into the air for one last time and slams it down. "GO!"
