Bumblebee looked both ways looking out into the dark tunnels for the creature and saw nothing at first until he heard growling coming from the tunnel Starscream and Breakdown ran down, then to glowing eyes appeared staring at Bumblebee whoes eyes widened in terror, as the creature emerged growling and staring at bumblebee,meanwhile Optimus and the others waited for Bumblebee to lure the creature to them Bulkhead and Optimus prime held to pillar sized rocks "Optimus are you sure you want to send Bumblebee as the bait?"Bulkhead asked in concern for bumblebee's safety "i admit I'm concerned for Bumblebee,but he is a scout who doesn't flinch in the face of danger."Optimus prime said.
Bumblebee buzzed in alarm and terror as he ran through the tunnel with the creature after him roaring furiously Bumblebee ran up to the rock face and began climbing desperately trying to reach the surface but the creature was too fast,it rammed into bumblebee with it's head launching him out of the water and over the heads of the other autobots he landed on the ground with a thud. The creature bursted out of the water "Bullhead now!"Optimus said as he and Bulkhead swung the pillars together trying to knock the creature out but it dodged causing them both to miss and smash the pillars to pieces "Scrap."Bulkhead said in alarm as the creator swung it's long neck and head hitting Bulkhead and sending him flying against the wall, it hit Optimus with the same result, then it's sights turned towards Arcee who started to back away slowly.
"Paddles."Arcee said hopeful to make him snap out of whatever was going on with him The creature paused suddenly staring at Arcee as if something clicked in it's mind even Arcee was a little taken aback "Now i know you most likely don't know me but I'm a fellow Autobot like you,i know you're in there somewhere, just let us help you."Arcee pleaded the creature tilted it's head before making a ferocious roar and lunged at her Arcee dodged the snapping jaws as the creature started to come up out of the water.
"Oh Primus."Arcee said as the creature used it's flippers to crawl towards Arcee it's belly scraping against the ground Optimus prime saw what was happening and began to think of a good immediate solution he looked up at the rocky ceiling and fired a few blasts over the beasts head and a big rock fell and smashed against the beasts head making it disoriented and dizzy, then Bulkhead saw his chance he got up and deployed his mace hand and then charged at the beast before hitting it in the head so hard it collapsed unconscious.
The autobots stood around staring at the beast relieved it was over, "Well that was intense."Bulkhead said breaking the tension and bumblebee buzzed in agreement "So how are we going to get him back to base?"Arcee asked curiously wondering how they were going to get the loch Ness monster out of the Loch.
Later
Ratchet had the creature on sick bay as he worked on it, ratchet had opened the top of its head as he found a problem there, the kids watched with interest "all this time Nessie was a autobot."miko said in disbelief "what's his name again?"Jack asked "his name is Paddles,he was apart of a undersea team on cybertron."Optimus Prime said Raf noted that Paddles beast mode reminded him of a prehistoric marine reptile "did he always have that mode?"Raf asked curiously "no that's new,he...well I think we should let him tell the story."Bulkhead said, Ratchet patched Paddles head good as new fixing him "Well I successfully repaired Paddles,it was his Cybo-dendron."Ratchet said "Uhhh Cybo what?"Miko asked in confusion.
"Cybo-dentrons are components of our bodies that regulate the higher brain functions, If they are somehow damaged or destroyed, the affected cybertronian will pretty much start acting like a rabid lunatic,which is what happened to him, his was damaged but I managed to repair it,he should be coming online feeling like his old self soon."Ratchet said as sure enough Paddles cyan eyes flicked to life as he slowly rose his head,groaning as he had a massive headache. He shook his dino head and looked around at the new unfamiliar surroundings "Where...where am i?"he asked in confusion as he looked at the autobots then at Optimus Prime "Optimus is that you?"he asked "yes Paddles."Optimus Prime said stepping forward as Paddles transformed into robot mode and got off the medical table "Ugh...where am i?"he asked looking around "You are at our base at a secure location."Arcee said Paddles groaned rubbing his head "ugh...I'm trying to remember...the last thing I remember was...swimming then..rocks collapsing and then flickering."Paddles said in a slightly low tone Bumblebee buzzed curiously "Yeah flickers of memory."Paddles said.
"What happened to you,how did you end up in Loch Ness?"Raf asked wanting to know "Lock what,wait who?"Paddles asked gesturing at the kids "those are our human friends Jack,Miko and Rafael."Bulkhead said with a proud smile "Oh humans...I've never had a good relationship with the natives on this planet,the one i remember the most was some person with a stick shouting at me to get back and don't touch the man."paddles said with a hint of distress "you know Paddles you're quite famous on our world."Miko said with a smile "yeah you're a legend here,everyone has heard of Nessie The loch Ness Monster."Jack said "Nessie,that's what I'm called?"Paddles asked in bewilderment at the fact he has another name on this world "Yeah uh Nessie is basically a feminine name, we just assumed your gender."Miko said feeling guilty now knowing Nessie is a guy.
"Assumed my what?!"Paddles exclaimed offended "how did you ended up in loch Ness?"Raf asked "I don't remember exactly,like I said it's flickers of memory, you kids don't know what it's like being traped in a beast body,I didn't have control over my actions, it was like being locked in a moving prison,paralyzed, going in and out of Stasis Lock,you're just watching out the windows,I remember swimming and then...freezing for a long time, and then swimming back and forth in darkness,I was trying to find a way out of this massive watery pit I was in...but there was no way out."Paddles said with seriousness as the kids listened feel all kinds of bad for Paddles and his traumatic experience.
"Paddles we found you're ship and you're journal logs,you mentioned Shockwave kidnapping you and others and giving you beast modes."Arcee asked "You also mentioned Grimlock and his team."Bulkhead said "Yeah the Dinobots,that's what we called ourselves."Paddles said has his head hung low remembering what happened.
Flashback
"Shockwave!"Grimlock roared as the Dinobots chased him as the dinosaurs looked on, Shockwave ran down a field heading towards the energon cave stash Swoop proceeded to divebomb on him taking a swipe at him with his talons but missed as Shockwave ducked. Shockwave knew he couldn't run in the cave he'd be a dead bot, Shockwave began to move around the mountain until he froze as he stood on the edge of a large pit that was approximately 30 to 50 feet deep and was filed with a strange black substance. Shockwave glanced back to see the Dinobots coming closer and closer with sharp teeth ready to tear him to shreds.
Then when the Dinobots were close enough using the jets on his feet he hovered over pit just as Grimlock snapped his jaws where Shockwave originally was, unfortunately Grimlock accidently stepped over the edge causing him to fall directly into the black substance The Dinobots stopped on the edge looking at Grimlock who struggled to get out of the pit Shockwave charged up his arm cannon and fired at the edge beneath their feet making the ground crumble and give away making the rest of the Dinobots except for Swoop and Paddles to fall in.
Swoop watched the Dinobots struggle to get out "Guys!"the Swoop saw Shockwave dash to the side of him and blast him in the chest making him hit the side of the mountain and fall into the pit. Paddles stared down helplessly at the Dinobots who one by one the black substance swallowed them whole, Grimlock was the past one to disappear into the dark, he stared up at Paddles before he sank "No!"Paddles cried out in anguish.
Flashback Over
"Are they really gone,Grimlock Swoop,Slash all of them?"Arcee asked hopfully Paddles was lying for some odd reason "yes they're gone all of them."Paddles said with a heavy spark which made all the autobots hang their heads in sorrow " Um..who's Grimlock and The Dinobots?"Jack asked "Grimlock was the baddest autobot around, tales of his ferocious might made decepticons oil themselves,he lead a team made up of Swoop,Snarl,Slug and Sludge,they called themselves the lightning Strike Coalition."Bulkhead said making Miko cringe "ugh that's a strange name for a team." "During the exodus Grimlock and his team abandoned their posts and went missing we thought they were dead."Optimus said "they weren't dead,Shockwave captured them and gave them beast forms from this world,large reptilian beasts." Paddles said "The Dinosaurs."Jack said "hence the name Dinobots."Raf said with a smile although there was a little continuity error as humans coined the name Dinosaurs.
"Shockwave captured me and a few other autobots and got the same treatment but we escaped and hunted Shockwave from cybertronian to here,after we defeated Hun-Grrr and his Predacons we finally had him but Shockwave pulled one last trick and Killed the team."Paddles said making the kids gasp "What happened to this shockwave?"Jack asked curiously "I killed him avenging my team but I'm alone now."Paddles said with a depressed tone Optimus placed a hand on his shoulder "You are not alone Paddles you are apart of our team now,and we could use another soldier."Optimus Prime said "Sweet we have the loch Ness Monster on our side,the cons don't stand a chance."Miko said in happiness Paddles was happy too as he gained a new team and family in the form of Optimus Prime's team,Paddles then turned to Optimus as he was curious about something "Say what happened to the Ark?"he asked making the autobots look at each other unable to give an answer.
Later
As the sun began setting Jack rode Arcee to his house "Well we have a new team player."jack said with a smile behind his helmet "yep,he will be caught up to speed on what's happening."Arcee said simply although she was just as happy as Jack was,"I wonder how it's going to work with Paddles I mean he has a Marine Reptile as an alt mode,it's not exactly keeping a low profile."Jack said, that fact wasn't lost on anyone "We'll figure out a solution for that for now let's just rejoice that we have a Dinobot on our team."Arcee said turning a corner.
Loch Ness
The sun beamed down over the peaceful lake as Paddles in Elasmosaurus mode lifted his head above the water basking in the warm sun a little bit before diving down into the Loch.
Meanwhile Somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean
Sitting in the middle of the Pacific Ocean was a big lone island,an island untouched by man covered in lush jungle,forest and swamps with a mountain and a small lake, but also it has a tar pit covered by rocks, it's peaceful tranquil silence was soon broken by the sound of faint growling.
