Hello all! This is my first attempt at writing a decently long story, so I apologize for any grammatical mistakes! I understand the first few chapters may seem a little slow, but I hope once I'm done setting the foundation I'll be able to speed the plot along.

If you have any suggestions for things I could chanGe or things you would like to see added please leave it in a review!

Thank you!

Two figures stood before each other, their expressions a mask of determination and focus.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Naruto asked his best friend.

"There's no time to waste, Naruto," Sakura replied, "If we don't try, we will lose everything." Her voice was steady despite the uncertainty flowing through her mind. He searched her eyes and nodded. She stripped her weapons off before laying them on the ground and felt a sadness as she removed her headband.

"I'm going to concentrate on placing you in the right timeline, but you're going to have to handle the rest on your own. Understand?" Naruto's voice was filled with determination, as he reached out to gently grasp her shoulders. She nodded and rested her hands on his arms. Orange chakra began to flow around them both. The air around them crackled with energy, and the ground beneath them vibrated with power.

Everything was seemingly normal before Sakura's knees buckled. The ground beneath them turned into a whirlpool of chakra, and she was gone. The wind howled and the last remnants of the energy dissipated, leaving behind an eerie silence. Naruto stood there, stunned for a moment, before feeling a strange sensation wash over him. His heart tightened, and he couldn't help but wonder if he had done the right thing.

"Naruto-kun. Are you alright?" Hinata walked up to him hesitantly placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, her pearl-colored eyes filled with concern. He looked at her, his expression still distant. He was silent for a minute or two before he stood up straight and sighed.

"I'm not sure, Hinata. Something tells me... I just sent Sakura to her death." His voice was barely audible, as if he was trying to convince himself it was untrue but Hinata shook her head in disagreement.

"Sakura-san is a strong kunoichi. I believe she can overcome anything. I trust her, Naruto-kun." Hinata's words were comforting, but they did little to ease the heavy weight in his chest. He knew that Hinata's faith in their teammate was well-placed, but he couldn't help but feel a hole growing in his heart.

"Thanks, Hinata." Naruto managed a small smile. The weight of his decision was heavy, but he knew he had to get back to the battlefield. He glanced up at the sky, the clouds gathering ominously. Naruto wondered if Sakura was already there, in the past, fighting against Madara. He hoped she was alright.

As the last rays of sunlight vanished beneath the horizon, the world seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. The air was heavy with the scent of cherry blossoms, their pale pink petals fluttering gracefully to the ground like snow fallen from the heavens. In the distance, the faint laughter of children drifted through the crisp evening air, their innocent giggles carrying on the breeze like a lullaby.

However, the streets were barren, the villagers having long since retired to their homes. The only sign of life was a lone figure walking along the main road, his black cloak billowing in the wind. He was tall and lean, with piercing crimson eyes that seemed to see right through her. Even from a distance, Sakura could feel his presence, like a weight pressing down on her chest.

She knew who he was, of course. He was Madara Uchiha. The legendary leader of the Uchiha clan. The man who had started the Fourth Great Shinobi War. But she couldn't help but feel a strange fascination for him. His presence was overwhelming, his aura commanding. Even as she fought the urge to run away, she found herself drawn to him like a moth to a flame.

As he opened his mouth to say something, her vision was flooded with light. She blinked, trying to clear her eyes, but the light seemed to come from within him. She felt a shiver run down her spine as he slowly morphed into a white figure with pale green hair and yellow eyes. His features hardened, his expression turned into one of hate, and he sneered.

"Foolish girl. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into." His voice was cold, sharp as a blade.

"You cannot stop me." His words echoed in her mind, and she sat up suddenly, gasping heavily and she realized it was just a dream. Her heart raced as she tried to steady her breath. Her eyes darted around taking in her surroundings.

The room she was in was small and mostly empty, containing a bed and one stand next to it. The bed wasn't uncomfortable, but the blankets felt scratchy against her skin. She glanced around, trying to find some sort of clock, but there was nothing. The walls were a dull gray, devoid of any decoration. She sighed, rubbing her eyes.

She glanced down at her clothes, realizing she was still wearing her usual attire, and knew it was time to figure out just where the jutsu had put her. She got out of bed and walked over to the window, pushing aside the curtain. Her eyes widened as she took in the view. The village before her was unrecognizable as the buildings were smaller and there were far fewer people. Her thoughts were interrupted as the door behind her opened.

He was without a doubt an Uchiha, with their typical features of black hair and onyx eyes, but Sakura didn't recognize him. He exuded an air of authority and experience that if she were any other person she may have felt small and insignificant.

"I'm Izuna Uchiha. Who are you?" He cocked his head to the side in curiosity. His eyes scanned her, and she fought the urge to squirm under his intense gaze.

"My name is Sakura. How did I get here? This village...it doesn't look like mine." Sakura spoke quietly, hoping the man wouldn't consider her a threat. Izuna raised an eyebrow at her words, his expression unreadable.

"You were found unconscious on the outskirts of the village." He paused, studying her before landing on her forehead. "Where is your village?" Sakura swallowed hard. The whole mission had been a last resort and Sakura didn't think to take the time to create a cover story or even cover up her seal. How the hell was she going to explain she carried an Uzumaki seal?

"I...I'm not sure. I think it's far away. I was just...traveling." She replied. Izuna looked at her for a moment with a narrowed gaze.

"I don't remember much; I can't even remember how I got here. I only know that I am Sakura." She swallowed hard, trying to sound convincing. She could see his features relax and she did her best to hold back a sneer. Izuna studied her for a moment longer before stepping away from the door.

"Do you have a last name?" He asked, his voice still calm and controlled. Sakura hesitated, weighing her options. She could tell him a fake last name, or she could take a chance and hope he would believe that she couldn't remember. She decided that the best lies are always weaved in with the truth.

"I can't remember the full thing, but I know it starts with an H." He walked towards her, stopping close enough that she was forced to look up at him.

"I'm sure you can find it if you think hard enough." His words were soft, almost gentle, but the way he looked at her was anything but. There was an intensity to his gaze that made her feel like he could see right through her, see the truth she was trying to hide. She furrowed her brow, as if she was deep in thought, before she shook her head slightly.

"I'm sorry, I really don't remember. What is going to happen to me?" Sakura asked, her voice matching the softness in his. Was he going to kick her out? She wouldn't be surprised if he did, Uchihas were not the most trusting people. However, it would be a huge inconvenience if she had to navigate her way through this timeline blind.

"We will let you stay for a few nights, until we can find out where you belong." Izuna's tone was firm, but not unkind. Sakura couldn't help but feel a weight lift off her shoulders as she heard his words.

"For now, you will stay in a guest room. One of the servants will show you the way." He stepped aside, motioning for someone behind him to take over. She nodded and bowed to him in thanks before stepping away and following the man. He led her through the winding paths of the village, past houses that seemed to blend into the landscape, until they arrived at a large complex.

"This is the main compound. I will show you where guests stay." The man told her. The complex was larger than she had expected, with a grand entrance that seemed to open into a courtyard. The building surrounding it were constructed from a blend of wood and stone, each one more intricate than the last. She followed him through a maze of hallways, marveling at the scenery. It wasn't long before they approached a seemingly generic door.

"This will be your room. Enjoy your stay." He said to her before bowing and walking away. Sakura walked inside. The room was modestly sized, but comfortable. There was a low bed covered in soft blankets, a small writing desk, and a window that looked out into a garden. She sat down on the bed, taking a deep breath. Now what should she do?

She had no idea what time period she was in, but based off of the village structure and the fact that all of the people were Uchiha's she could only guess it was before Konoha was founded. Her heart skipped a beat because if that was the case then Madara could very well be just within her reach. A knock sounded at her door.

"Lady Sakura?" A gentle voice called from the other side. Sakura jumped to her feet and hurried over to the door, opening it to reveal a girl, no older than 12, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes.

"My name is Saori and I've been tasked to take care of you. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask." The young girl said, bowing her head. Saori held out a small bundle of clothes, which Sakura took gratefully.

"Thank you Saori, please come inside." Sakura said, walking back into her room. Saori carefully stepped inside and closed the door behind her. Sakura examined the clothes that were handed to her. It wasn't anything extravagant, but it was made of finer material than what Saori was wearing, and she would be glad to be out of her 2 day old outfit. A simple dark blue yukata, covered in Sakura blossoms and a white obi with a matching sash.

"Allow me to help you dress." Saori said, stepping forward. She carefully took the yukata and began to assist Sakura in putting it on, making sure the obi was secure. Once she was done, Saori stepped back and bowed.

"There you are, Lady Sakura. You look lovely." Sakura couldn't remember the last time she had worn something as intricate and fine. She turned towards her helper.

"Please call me Sakura." She gave the small girl a smile, but the girl nodded her head no.

"I'm sorry it would be improper of me to do so." Saori asked, her eyes shifting downward in what seemed like a show of respect. Her cheeks flushed a little as she spoke. Sakura couldn't help but be reminded of Hinata when she was her age and she nodded in agreement.

"Is there anything we can do around here?" Sakura asked. Saori seemed to brighten before gesturing outside of Sakura's window towards the garden.

"If you'd like, Lady Sakura, I could take you to the garden. You could pick some flowers or maybe enjoy the scenery." Saori offered with a small smile. Sakura nodded, quickly growing excited at the prospect of spending time outside and perhaps she could take this opportunity to scope out her surroundings. The two girls exited the room.

The garden was a beautiful sight, filled with an array of flowers in every color imaginable. A small stream ran through the center, its waters gently flowing over smooth rocks. The sun shone down from a cloudless sky, casting a warm light over everything. Saori led her towards a large cherry blossom tree, its branches heavy with pink petals. Sakura picked up a stray petal from the ground, rubbing it between her fingers.

"You look so peaceful. Do you never get to relax like this?" Saori asked. Sakura smiled softly before responding.

"It's been a while, I suppose. I don't quite remember much of my life before now, but I know I was always busy." She let out a sigh, watching a butterfly flutter past. While Saori was sweet, she couldn't be too trusting of the small girl. Sakura knew she would report back to whoever was in charge.

"If you would follow me, I think I know a place you might enjoy." Saori said before continuing on. The path curved around a pond, its surface reflecting the sky and the surrounding flowers and a small gazebo sat at the end of the path. It was constructed of delicately carved wood, the roof adorned with red paper lanterns. The floor was covered in soft tatami, and a low table was positioned in the center, surrounded by cushions.

"This is where they usually have tea." Saori said gesturing for Sakura to sit down. Sakura hesitated for a moment, taking in her surroundings. The gazebo was indeed a beautiful and serene place, but she couldn't help but feel uneasy. She glanced around, searching for any signs of danger but could find nothing. Sakura sat down across from Saori, processing what she had said.

"Who are "they"?" Sakura asked curiously. She knew she couldn't exactly trust Saori, but the small girl seemed harmless enough. Perhaps she could get some information out of her. Saori smiled shyly and pointed towards the complex.

"Master Madara and Master Izuna of course." She said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Sakura's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Madara and it confirmed that she was indeed back before Konoha had been founded. She pushed Saori for more information about the two men.

"And where do you stand with them?" Sakura asked, her voice careful. Saori blushed and looked down at her lap.

"Well, I'm just a servant but my mother runs most of the staff here." Saori explained, a hint of pride in her voice.

"Master Madara and Master Izuna are... special. Master Madara isn't around much, he is usually out leading war parties, but Master Izuna spends a lot of time running the village." Saori explained, her eyes shining with admiration. "They are both very powerful ninjas, and their wisdom guides us all. It is an honor to serve them."

Sakura wholeheartedly believed the child and it reminded her of the time she had first met her own master. A plan began to form in Sakura's mind. If she could get close to Izuna then she could potentially learn more about what has happened and find a way to fix this mess. The only problem was, Sakura wasn't sure how Madara had fallen under the curse in the first place.

"Saori, is there any way I can talk to Master Izuna?" Sakura asked carefully. She didn't want to come across as too forward, but her worries were eased as Saori nodded enthusiastically.

"Tonight, he would like you to join him for dinner. It's a rare honor, as the masters don't often dine with outsiders. I'm sure you could ask him anything if you'd like." Saori said with a smile. Sakura nodded, trying to contain her excitement. The two girls talked before Saori led them back to Sakura's room. The small girl said her goodbyes leaving her to get ready for dinner. Her breath was taken away as an elegant dark red kimono waited for her on the bed.

It was embroidered with cherry blossoms and other complimenting flowers finished off with a dark green obi. Sakura took a deep breath and put it on, trying to calm her nerves. She located a brush and did her best to gather her longer hairs in a ponytail. She looked at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but feel like a different person. The clothes and setting were overwhelming, and she knew that she had to play her cards right if she wanted any chance of surviving in this time.

A knock sounded on her door. Sakura took a deep breath and composed herself before opening it. Izuna stood before her, looking her over from head to toe. He wore a plain, dark blue kimono with a red obi. His hair was tied at his neck and Sakura was easily reminded of Sasuke.

"You look beautiful. Please, join me." Izuna said finally, as he took in her appearance. He gestured for her to follow and led her down a dimly lit hallway. They walked in silence, the only sound being their shuffling feet against the soft mats.

The room they entered was ornately decorated with a low table and a few cushions in the center. A servant waited patiently by the side, ready to serve them. Izuna gestured for her to take a seat before taking his own place across from her. The table was set with an array of delicate dishes, each one more appetizing than the last, however Sakura could only name a few.

"I hope you like the food. Our cook is quite skilled." Izuna said, pouring her some sake. She took a sip, finding it much smoother and stronger than the sake she was used to. Sake was hard to come by during the war and was highly sought after. Was he trying to lower her guard? She sat the cup down on the table.

"I hope Saori is to your liking? She is a kind girl." Izuna said, trying to make small talk. He took another sip of sake, his gaze fixed on her and Sakura nodded.

"But enough about that. I'm sure you wish to speak with me about your...situation." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "Please, ask whatever you like. I will answer to the best of my abilities." Sakura examined his face for duplicity, but only found sincerity. She took a deep breath and began.

"I am afraid that I may never remember where I came from, and I'll be stuck here. I know that you won't house me forever, but I was hoping you could give me some time." Sakura said, looking down at her hands. "If I could find some way to help around here, perhaps prove myself useful, then I could stay just long enough to figure out where I need to go. I know I am good at first aid." She looked up at him waiting for his response as it was critical that she stay here as long as she could.

Izuna considered her words carefully. Their clan were always low on medics, but what if this was a way for her to sabotage their infirmaries? Izuna tried not to think that way, but years of distrust towards outsiders would do that to you. He couldn't help but notice her chakra capacity was higher than a normal civilian. Could she be a kunoichi?

He thought for a moment more before making his decision. "Very well, Sakura-san. I will give you a chance to prove yourself. However, I will ask that you dine with me daily and keep me updated on anything you begin to remember." Izuna paused, his expression stern. "If at any point you are discovered to be lying or withholding information, I will have no choice but to ask you to leave immediately. Do you understand?" Sakura nodded. It was more than she could ask for at this point.

"Thank you, Izuna-sama. I will not disappoint you. I promise." She took another sip of sake, feeling the warmth spread through her as she thought about what he had just said. It wouldn't be difficult to pretend she knew nothing, after all her knowledge about the past was limited to her history lessons from 10 years ago and suddenly an idea struck her.

"Do you have a library?" Sakura asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. Izuna raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting the question. She took another sip of sake, trying to appear relaxed.

"Yes, I will allow you limited access for now. There will be somebody to accompany you at all times." He said, pouring himself another glass. She didn't respond as servants began to set food down in front of her. Her stomach rumbled. She couldn't remember the last time she had a nice home cooked meal; the war had limited them to a mix of dehydrated food and soldier pills. She thought nothing more about it as the two finished their dinner with little conversation between each bite.

As the servants cleared the table, Izuna thought about the library. It was filled with scrolls, books, and even some ancient texts. He wondered what she was hoping to find there. Perhaps she was trying to find something to help regain her memories? There was a possibility she was trying to gather intel on his clan but he knew she would only be met with disappointment. He needed to contact his brother.

"There is something I must see to; I will have a servant escort you back to your room. Tomorrow morning, I will introduce you to our lead medic. Have a good night, Sakura-san." Izuna said as he rose from the table. He gave a bow before exiting the room.

"If you will follow me, Lady Sakura." A new servant bowed to her, waiting. Sakura nodded and rose, following the servant through the halls of the keep. She added the path to her mental map of the complex and the servant bid her goodnight. She walked into the room where a night gown was waiting for her.

She stripped off her clothes and slid into the new clothes, climbing into the soft bed. The room was comfortable, the bed warm. She was safe for now, at least for tonight. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep, but her mind kept racing. She thought about the library and what she might find there.

She knew Izuna was skeptical about her reasoning for it, but Sakura honestly just wanted to brush up on her history. As she lay in the comfortable bed, she tried to force her mind to recall something, anything, from her history lessons. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, willing the memories to come back to her, but she soon fell into a deep sleep.
