"What are you doing," Leo barked.

"Going to see Asher," Allison replied.

"Go back to bed Al," Leo replied, "dad will kill you."

"I do it all the time," Allison replied.

"Going to your baby daddy's room when you should be asleep," Leo taunted, "what for? Getting knocked up a second time."

"I don't want to be alone," Allison said.

"What is going on," Teddy asked, coming out of her room hearing their voices raised, "you'll wake your dad."

"Allison was sneaking downstairs," Leo said.

"Couldn't sleep," Teddy asked.

Allison nodded, "and my back hurts, I have those cramps again, plus the baby is really kicking."

"Going to hang out with Asher for a bit," Teddy asked.

"Yes," Allison replied.

"Try to rest please baby," Teddy said, "I know you're only two days from your due date. You're getting pretty uncomfortable."

"I'm scared," Allison said, "I don't want to be alone."

"You want to be with the father of your child. I understand that," Teddy said, "it's okay. I know you go down most nights. You're not exactly light on your feet right now."

"Mom," Leo said.

"Allison go down," Teddy okayed, "get some rest baby, at least lay down."

"Good night mom," Allison said, hugging Teddy.

"Goodnight baby girl," Teddy replied.

"You're seriously okay with that," Leo snapped.

"It doesn't matter right now," Teddy said, "it's what she needs to feel comfortable and supported."

"It's enabling," Leo replied.

"She needs to feel loved and supported," Teddy repeated.

"To go fool around with her boyfriend," Leo yelled.

Teddy grabbed Leo by the elbow and dragged him back into his room.

"Mom talons," Leo snapped.

"I have half a mind to tell you to get out of my house," Teddy snapped.

"What the fuck," Leo yelled.

"Daniel Robert," Owen growled.

"Some help here Owen," Teddy said.

"It's all true," Leo said, "I can't believe how much you two defend her and let her get away with anything right now."

"Her rules and expectations are different from yours," Teddy said.

"We can give you the same rules," Owen said, "starting tomorrow your curfew is now 9. You do not go out alone unless you go to Annie's or Megan's but you won't have a car so someone will Have to drive you . Not even to get a slurpee or go for a walk alone ."

"Asher," Leo yelled, "why is he here?"

"Because his parents kicked him out," Owen said, "we've been through this. Do you want his rules?"

"What," Leo asked.

"He pays rent, helps with housework, does all the yard work," Owen said, "drives Allison everywhere and works overtime every day as an electrical apprentice. He leaves for work at5:30 am. He manned up. You have a C average. You've left work early or been late every day this week. You're skating by on our names. Using your mother and I to pave the way for you for your military stuff."

"Don't tell me you haven't used our names to get yourself out of trouble," Teddy said, "Major Grant called me. I worked with him in Germany and he reported to me."

"What," Leo gasped.

"You had a girl in your room," Teddy replied, "I told him to come down hard on you."

"So Allison can get knocked up but I can't have fun with a girl," Leo yelled, "you did it twice mom. Dad you obviously didn't think either."

"The fact that I've had two babies in similar circumstances is what has allowed us to help and support Allison," Teddy yelled, "you have no idea."

"You just stuck dad with Annie," Leo said.

"I made a choice to be her uncle Owen when Annie was 19," Owen said, "years before your mom and I were together."

"It's embarrassing," Leo roared.

"Because you decided to let it bug you," Owen said.

"Dad," Leo tried.

"No," Owen said, "you can be supportive of your sister."

"Or what," Leo asked.

"Get out of my house," Owen said.

"Mom," Teddy heard Allison scream.

Teddy ran down the stairs.

"What's wrong," Teddy asked, making it into the basement sitting area.

"I can't breathe, it hurts," Allison said.

"What hurts," Teddy asked.

"My stomach," Allison sobbed.

"Okay let's take a look," Teddy said.

"It's happened the last few nights but nothing like this," Asher said, "is she in labour?"

"How many have you had tonight," Teddy asked.

"3 or 4 since I went to bed," Allison said.

"Okay," Teddy said, "when did they start?"

"It's been bugging me all day but Leo made it worse," Allison said.

"Let's have some water," Teddy replied.

"I have your water bottle you left it down here when we watched TV," Asher said.

Teddy sat with Allison and kept one eye on her watch. 20 minutes later Allison seemed to relax.

"Okay sweetheart," Teddy said, "I think that was just some really strong braxton hicks, your body is practicing. "

"What can we do," Asher asked.

"Stay with her," Teddy said.

"Is Leo still mad," Allison asked.

"He's angry," Teddy said.

"Can I sleep down here," Allison asked.

"You can," Teddy said.

"I want my pillows," Allison whimpered.

"I'll go," Teddy said.

Teddy went up stairs and grabbed Allison's pillows off her bed.

"She's staying with him," Owen asked.

"She's scared," Teddy said, "Leo's fit gave her the worst Braxton Hicks. She's better away from Leo."

"Baby," Owen asked.

"We're still a few days away I think," Teddy said, "it looks like it's dropped. She's so uncomfortable right now."

"When does she see Carina," Owen asked.

"Thursday," Teddy said, "her due date. Two more days."

"5 grandkids," Owen said.

"I know," Teddy said.

"Tonight," Owen asked.

"We let her rest where she's comfortable," Teddy said, "she feels safe with him. He keeps her calm. Maybe we should reconsider him being in her room when the baby comes."

"They are dating," Owen agreed, "and she'll need a lot of help."

"He should be there with her for all the night feeds and diaper changes," Teddy said.

"What about," Owen asked.

"We've talked," Teddy said, "she's 18. Annie and I have talked to her about what we recommend. And I think she's learned."

"Give her the option," Owen said.

"Leo," Teddy asked.

"He's high," Owen said, "he's high on something. I don't know what Teddy."

"How did we not notice," Teddy asked.

"Allison," Owen said.

"What is it," Teddy asked.

"I don't know," Owen said.

"So we have one who will go into labor any minute and one using," Teddy said, "we need help."

"You be ready for her," Owen said, "I'm searching his room."

"Now," Teddy asked.

"Now," Owen said.

"Let him sober up. I don't want it getting violent," Teddy said.

"If he's using," Owen said.

"Rehab or he's out," Teddy replied, "we cut him off. I want a drug test."

"What can I do Allie," Asher asked.

"Just hold me," Allison whispered.

"What hurts," Asher asked, "do you want to make your pillow fort in my bed and I'll rub your back until you fall asleep?"

"Please," Allison agreed.

"Okay pillow fort first," Asher said.

"Pee first," Allison said, "they're on my bladder again."

Allison wadded to the bathroom then met Asher in his room.

"I think I got them in the right spots," he said, "where does this one go?"

"Between my knees," Allison said.

"Get in," Asher said.

Allison crawled into bed and got as comfortable as she could. Asher laid down beside her gently rubbing her back.

"Lower," Allison asked.

"There," Asher asked, rubbing her lower back and hips.

"Yes," Allison said, "that feels good."

Asher softly kissed the back of her neck.

"Too tired tonight," Allison whispered.

"I know," Asher said, "I just wanted to show you I love you. How's the baby?"

"Moving," Allison said.

Asher slid his hand to the side of her bump, "baby you've got to calm down and let your mom sleep for a bit."

"I'm scared ash," Allison whispered into the darkness.

"Of what," Asher asked.

"Giving birth," Allison mumbled, "if those were practice and I thought I was dying."

"You'll be okay," Asher said, "I'll be with you and you can have the pain thing in your back."

"No," Allison said, "mom said she did both of us with no pain meds and Annie only had them with Matt."

"Just Matt." Asher asked.

"He was a c section," Allison said, "she's had three natural moms had two I have to do it."

"No you don't," Asher said, "Allison if you want the drugs you get the drugs. You didn't sound human tonight. I don't want to see you in that much pain or so scared. If it would keep you calm."

"It's expensive," Allison said.

"You're on your parents insurance," Asher said, "and mine from the union kicked in. We're putting the baby on it the moment they're born. I'd rather pay it and have you comfortable. "

"It's mom's hospital anyway," Allison said.

"It is," Asher agreed.

"Will you even stick around after," Allison asked.

"Yes," Asher promised.

"You know we can't for a couple months after," Allison said, "and I don't know if I'll ever look the same."

"I know and I don't care what you look like," Asher said.

"You say that now while I'm massive," Allison said.

"Gorgeous," Asher assured, "Allie you really do need sleep."

"Only if you stay with me and hold me," Allison said.

"I will," Asher promised, "I'm right with you."

Throughout the night Allison woke Asher up a few times with more of what she thought were contractions.

"Let's get your mom," Asher said, "it's five and we haven't really slept."

Allison made her way slowly upstairs.

"Mom," Allison called from Teddy and Owens' open bedroom door.

"Hey munchkin moms in the shower," Owen said, "what's up?"

"I need mom," Allison said before wincing.

"Okay come sit with me," Owen said, "tell me what's happening."

"I think the baby is coming," Allison said.

"Okay wait for mom," Owen said, "she can take a look. Sit here with me and breathe."

"I want Asher," Allison said.

"Okay," Owen said, "let's go to your room and he can come up this time."

Owen helped Allison to her room and she texted Asher to come up.

Asher appeared with her pillows, "going back to bed?"

Allison shook her head then sucked in a sharp breath.

"Again," Asher asked.

"Yes," Allison moaned.

"Something is going on munchkin," Owen said, "baby is due tomorrow so you're all good."

"I can't sit," Allison said, "there's something there when I sit."

"When did that start," Owen asked.

"A couple days ago," Allison said, "I think the baby dropped."

"It looks like it," Owen said.

"This is when doctor parents are weird," Allison complained.

"The water shut off. I'm going to get your mom," Owen said.

Allison nodded.

"Pillow fort again," Asher asked.

"No," Allison said, "I want to get up."

Owen let himself into the master bathroom.

"Owen," Teddy jumped.

"We think Allison is in labour," Owen said, "she came up 15 minutes ago looking for you and there's been two contractions that I've seen."

"I'll get dressed and go see her," Teddy said, throwing her jeans and shirt on.

"They're in her room," Owen said.

"Together," Teddy asked.

"Yes," Owen said, "she needs him."

"She does," Teddy said.

Teddy grabbed an extra sheet from the linen closet as she walked to Allison's room.

"Hey baby girl," Teddy said, "what's going on?"

"I think it's real contractions," Allison said, "it's not just my stomach this time it's my back and hips."

"Okay can I check you out," Teddy asked, "or we go to the hospital."

"Down there," Allison asked, "mom no."

"Let's give it an hour and see what happens by the time I have to leave for work," Teddy said.

"Mom what is this," Allison asked.

"This is early labour," Teddy said, "my advice you two. Sleep if you can, Asher call into work and stay calm."

"Just lean on me," Asher whispered, pulling Allison back against him.

"Can I try to sleep," Allison asked.

"You should," Teddy said, "shower, eat if you're hungry."

"How long," Asher asked.

"I don't know," Teddy said, "my first was over 24 hours from this point, Allison was 8. But I was 46 when Allison was born."

Allison whimpered again.

"Okay," Teddy said taking charge of the situation, "Asher step out and call your boss. Allison I want to ask you a couple questions."

Asher stepped out and called his boss, "Stewart I know it's early."

"Asher what's going on," Stewart asked.

"I think I told you my girlfriend and I are having a baby," Asher said.

"You did " Stewart replied.

"Allie is in labour," Asher said, "I'm going to stay with her today."

"Totally," Stewart agreed," remember we're giving you a week paid to be with them so your time off starts now then 7 days from the baby's arrival. Take care of her and send us baby pictures."

"Allie can I look please," Teddy asked.

"No," Allison whined, "only dr Deluca."

"Okay," Teddy agreed, "we're going to keep timing these. Has this been going on all night?"

Allison nodded, "but it's not my due date yet. "

"It's an estimate and you're due tomorrow," Teddy said, "they will be perfectly fine."

"I think I've changed my mind," Allison said, "I want the epidural."

"You know you can't move then," Teddy said.

"This really hurts," Allison whined.

"I know," Teddy said, "it does and you're scared. Try to relax. I'll call Meg to cancel my surgeries or pass them off. Do you still want me for all of it?"

"And nee," Allison said.

"I'll let her know," Teddy said, "I'm going to go make breakfast. Have you had your synthroid?"

"Not yet," Allison said, "I'll go take it I have to pee anyway."

"Go do that," Teddy said, "you should try to eat. What would you like?"

"Toast," Allison said.

"Some yogurt," Teddy asked, "I want some protein in you to keep your energy up."

"Peanut butter," Allison said.

"We can do that," Teddy said, "synthroid and a shower might feel good."

Teddy called Annie, "Allison is in labour she wants you."

"Where is she," Annie asked, "I just scrubbed out."

"We're at home," Teddy said.

Teddy heard a scream.

"You go that's not good," Annie said.

Teddy put her phone down and ran back up to Allison's room.

"What's wrong," Teddy asked.

"Owwww," Allison sobbed, "mom make it stop."

"They're getting stronger " Teddy said, "last night after I went up did they stop?"

"No," Allison said.

"So you've been in labour since about 10:30," Teddy said.

"It kinda started hurting when we were making dinner," Allison said.

"12 hours," Teddy said, "I think we should go in just see how dilated you are."

"I want to be here," Allison said.

"If you want the epidural we have to go," Teddy said, "there's a window."

"I don't want to I'm scared," Allison said.

"It's really strong and it's going to get stronger," Teddy said, "let's go, see what Carina says."

"Mom I can't," Allison sobbed.

"You can," Teddy said, "you can do this."

Leo stepped on to the landing, "make Allison stop screaming."

"We can't," Owen said, "she's scared and in a lot of pain."

"Drugs," Leo asked.

"Not unless she asks," Owen said, "she's 18 mom and I can't make her."

"Down stairs then so I can sleep," Leo said.

"Go downstairs and use the basement guest room," Owen said, "stay out of your sisters way."

They heard another scream.

"Allie screaming isn't going to help," Teddy said, "breathe. Big deep breaths."

"I don't want to," Allison sobbed.

"Allison let me check you out so we can decide what to do," Teddy tried again.

"I don't want to sit," Allison complained.

"Asher hold her up," Teddy said.

Allison leaned against Asher with her arms around his neck. He held her tight and whispered in her ear trying to calm and soothe her.

Annie let herself into the house

"You wanted me," Annie said to Owen.

"Your mom does upstairs," Owen replied, "your sister is having a hard time."

Annie ran up stairs.

"Scrubs really," Teddy said.

"No time to change," Annie replied, "Allie bean how are you doing?"

"It hurts," Allison sobbed.

"About 10-12 hours," Teddy said, "7 minutes apart."

"Where's your ball," Annie asked.

"What," Allison asked.

"You're going to sit on it and bounce or rock it'll open up your hips and pelvis," Annie said, "Asher your job is to comfort her and help her stay upright."

"Do you know what you're doing," Asher asked.

"Let's try," Annie said, "upright is better."

"No," Allison whined.

"Bean, give it a try," Annie soothed, "if it doesn't work you try something else."

"Drugs," Allison sobbed, "I want drugs."

"Bean that means leaving now," Teddy said.

"Carina is on call," Annie.

"Who's in," Teddy asked.

"Steph," Annie replied.

"Let's go," Teddy said, "we'll go in and let Steph take a look."

"No," Allison sobbed.

"Okay I'll call Carina," Teddy said.

Allison continued to sob.

"You're doing good," Asher whispered in her ear, "Allie you can do this. We'll go to the hospital and we'll see our baby soon. They will be as beautiful as their mom."

"Let's go," Teddy said, "Annie will get your bag. I'll go get the car ready."

"Lean on me," Asher said, helping Allison up.

"Fuck this hurts ," Allison screamed.

"Breathe babe," Asher soothed, "I have you. When you're ready."

Leo continued arguing with Owen in the basement.

"She's gotten her way for months," Leo yelled, "you baby her and always take her side."

"Enough," Owen yelled.

"She won't stop fucking screaming but you don't make her stop," Leo yelled.

"I don't understand when you became such an ass hole," Owen snapped, "that's your sister. She's in incredible pain that you or I will never completely understand."

"She's being a wimp," Leo said.

"Leo what her body is going though is intense," Owen snapped.

"How would you know," Leo demanded.

"Because I was with your mom when Allison was born," Owen said.

Annie stormed downstairs, "seriously Leo. Your anger at her is just making things worse for Allison. She is so stressed from what ever you said last night that she can't relax and let her body do what it needs to. The pain she is in is intense. She's not relaxing because of what ever you've said and how your yelling. Get some clothes on and go into work early."

"Like you know," Leo said.

"I've had four," Annie snapped, "the way your acting I hope you don't have kids. You want to be a doctor but you have zero compassion for your own family. That's our sister."

"Your not really our sister," Leo yelled, "you've never lived with us. Siblings grow up together."

"If you want to be technical," Owen said, "the girls are half siblings."

"I know the whole I'm adopted but my siblings aren't mind fuck," Annie said, "but this isn't the time. She is our sister and you will be supportive or you can't be in her life. The choices your making right now I question you around my kids."

"How's Allison," Owen asked.

"We're going in," Annie said, "mama will call you when we know more."

"Mom," Allison whined as she leaned against the kitchen counter, "I think I peed myself but I can't look."

Teddy nodded, "that was your water. Let's go in and see what Carina says."

"Owww," Allison whined, bending forward to lean on the counter. Teddy stood beside her rubbing her back.

"It's time," Teddy said.

I've got you," Asher said, "lean on me."

Asher gently helped Allison to the car and sat with her in the back seat.

At the hospital people jumped out of the way as Teddy barked orders.

"Allison how are you doing," Carina asked when they reached OB.

"I want an epidural," Allison said.

"When did labour start," Carina asked.

"Before dinner yesterday," Allison said.

"About 5pm," Teddy replied, "she came to get me and Owen at about 5:30 this morning."

"And it's 10am so you've been at this 17 hours," Carina said, "Allison has your water broken?"

"Yes," Allison moaned.

"Fuck," Allison shouted, "this hurt this really hurts."

"How frequently are you having contractions," Carina asked.

"Too often," Allison whined.

"5-7 minutes appart," Asher said, "it's getting worse."

"I need to see how dilated you are," Carina said, "you may be too late for the epidural."

"I can't do this," Allison said, "I need it."

"Let Carina look and decide," Teddy said.

"I'll do an exam then call down to the OR floor for some one to come place it," Carina said, "I need you to change into a gown."

"I'll step out," Asher said.

"No," Allison clung to him.

Teddy stepped out with Carina while Asher helped Allison change.

"Physically she tolerating it," Teddy said, "mentally not at all."

Annie joined them, "any news?"

"Water broke just as we left," Teddy said, "she's still struggling."

"Maybe here away from Leo she'll be calmer. I just took a huge strip off him."

"Not worrying about that now," Teddy declared.

Carina stepped into the room and did her exam.

"Allison, you are 4cm dilated," Carina said, "I'm going to order your epidural and that will make you more comfortable."

Allison nodded.

"Before we do that you need to empty your bladder," Carina said.

"I don't want to move," Allison said.

"I'll help you move baby," Teddy offered.

"Asher can't see," Allison said.

"Okay," Asher agreed.

"Allison you have to trust your boyfriend," Carina said, "I know it's hard. You're going to have a beautiful bambino soon together."

"The baby's heart," Teddy asked.

"We will get a monitor set up," Carina said.

Teddy helped Allison to the washroom then back to bed.

Asher sat on the side of the bed with Allison holding her hand trying not to wince when she squeezed it too tight.

The doctor came up to place the epidural.

"If you want to try to get some rest you can close your eyes," Teddy suggested.

"It still hurts," Allison whined.

"They gave you as much as they can for your age and weight," Teddy said, "any more wouldn't be safe. I know this really hurts. Breathe baby girl, just breathe."

They spent hours gently coaxing Allison to relax and breathe using everything they knew to try to keep her calm.

"I'm running out of ideas," Annie mouthed.

Teddy nodded in agreement.

"Asher I think we have some time," Annie said, "mama and I can stay here you go grab a drink and use the washroom."

"Allie," Asher said.

"Don't go," Allison said, clinging to him.

"Five minutes," Teddy coaxed, "let Asher use the washroom. Annie and I are here."

"What if," Allison whined.

"What are you feeling," Teddy asked.

"The same," Allison said.

"Give him 5 to gulp down a glass of water and use the washroom," Teddy said, "we won't go anywhere."

When Asher came back Annie stepped into the hall to call her kids and check in, as much as she was needed by her sister her own children needed her as well.

"Mom," Matt answered the phone, "do we have a cousin yet?"

"Not yet buddy," Annie replied, "a few more hours."

"Then will you bring us to meet them," Matt asked.

"Not today," Annie said, "it's three you just got home from school. Maybe tomorrow let Allison and Asher have time with the baby. Do you remember how tired I was when Heather was brand new?"

"But Allie doesn't have other kids," Matt argued.

"I know buddy," Annie said, "but she's going to be really really tired. Grandma and Grandpa always bring you to meet your new brother or sister the next morning. I'll bring you tomorrow after they've had some time with the baby. How was school?"

"I got everything right on my math quiz and it was pizza day," Matt answered.

"That does sound like a good day," Annie agreed, "how did your speech go?"

"We ran out of time I have to go Monday," Matt said, "Jacob had a tantrum and threw things across the room again."

"Did you go sit in the hall," Annie asked.

"We did," Matt replied, "Mrs Huges was away and she's the only one that can get Jacob to calm down."

"Thats the second time this week," Annie said, "are you okay?"

"He's sick," Matt said, "thats what dad told me. He needs help."

"He does," Annie agreed, "I'm proud of you for being so understanding."

"Heather is trying to take the phone," Matt said.

"Then let her talk to me," Annie said, "where are Ellie and Henry?"

"Practicing and playing lego," Matt said, "heres Heather."

"Hello princess," Annie said.

"Mommy," Heather yelled, "are you in surgery?"

"No but I'm at the hospital helping auntie Allie," Annie said, "I'll be home after bedtime. Are you being good for Uncle Chris?"

"Yes," Heather said.

"Did you have fun at school," Annie asked her youngest.

"Yes we made dinosaur eggs," Heather shouted.

"That is a good day," Annie agreed, "I have to go. I Love you so much. Can you give your brothers and sister hugs for me?"

"Love you mommy," Heather replied.

Annie hung up and went back into the room, she checked the monitors and liked what she saw for both Allison and the baby.

"How much longer," Allison asked, "I don't think I can keep going."

"Let's have Carina come check you," Teddy said.

Carina did the exam, "Allison you're making slow and steady progress. 8cm so within the next couple hours we'll turn the flow of medication down so you can feel to push."

"Can I sit up," Allison asked.

"We'll sit the bed up," Teddy agreed, "you'll feel better off your back."

Teddy sat the bed up for Allison, "do you want gatorade?"

"Please," Allison said.

Asher passed Allison her bottle of gatorade.

"You're doing good," Asher said, "not much longer and we'll meet them."

An hour later Allison began to cry.

"Words baby girl," Teddy said.

"I want them out," Allison sobbed, "I need them out now."

"I'll page Carina again," Teddy said.

Carina checked Allison out, "9.5 cm almost there. We're going to turn the medication down a bit so you can feel what your body is doing."

Once the medication was turned down Allison grimaced.

"I know," Annie said, "You've got this."

Half an hour later Carina came back.

"You're ready," Carina said, "I want to give me a big push and hold it as long as you can."

"Oww," Allison groaned.

"You've got this," Asher said, "you're so strong. You can do this."

After a few pushes Carina said, "I see the head. Almost there. Give me one more for their head."

Allison pushed again.

"Stop," Carina commanded, "the cord is around the neck."

"What," Asher asked.

"The umbilical cord is around their neck," Carina said, "Allison I need you not to push. I have to get it off their neck."

"Breathe," Teddy coached, "hold my hand and Asher's. Wait, just wait."

Annie grabbed gloves and moved to help Carina. Carina worked as fast as she could to free the cord.

"Dr Grace," Carina said, "be ready."

"I am," Annie said.

"Okay Allison give me a big push," Carina coached.

Allison pushed a few more times and the baby was out.

"It's a girl," Carina said.

"She's not crying," Allison panicked, "why isn't she crying."

Annie whispered, "come on baby breathe."

Carina worked furiously then watched as the baby gasped for air.

"Time," Carina asked Annie.

"90 seconds," Annie whispered, "paging Hayes."

The baby began to cry.

"Asher," Carina said, "can you come cut the cord?"

"I want to see her," Allison sobbed, "I need my baby. I want my baby."

"Just let Carina and Annie look after her," Teddy soothed.

"Is she okay," Allison asked.

"She's breathing," Annie said, she listened to the heart and lungs, "breath sounds are good, her heart sounds good."

"Her," Allison said.

"We have a daughter," Asher said.

Carina guided Asher to cut the cord.

"Okay," Carina said, "I think your ready to go meet mommy bambina."

Carina laid the baby on Allison's chest and covered her with a blanket.

"Hi," Allison whispered, "I'm your mommy. Hi baby."

"What's her name," Teddy asked.

"Everly," Allison whispered, "hi Everly. Her eyes are open."

"Hi Everly, I'm daddy," Asher said, stroking the baby's back.

"She's beautiful," Allison whispered.

"She's gorgeous," Asher said.

Allison turned to look at Asher.

"I love you," Asher said kissing Allison's forehead.

"I love you two," Allison said, "and we love you Everly."

"Can I," Asher asked.

Allison nodded.

Asher cautiously lifted the baby from Allison and held her against him.

"Hello everyone," Hayes came into the room.

"Hayes," Teddy greeted.

"Chief," Hays greeted.

"Where is this baby," Hayes asked, "what's her name."

"Everly," Asher said.

"Can I look at miss Everly," Hayes asked.

Allison nodded.

"Yes," Asher said.

Hayes did his exam, "on my first exam she looks good. I'd like to take her up to the NICU for a full exam."

"No not yet," Allison said.

"In the next 2 hours," Hayes said, "only because you have the chief of surgery here."

"Mom you said I could feed her first," Allison said.

"Has she eaten," Hayes asked.

"No," Teddy said.

"Once she's eaten she needs to be brought up," Hayes said, "dad can come with us."

"Can I have her back," Allison asked.

"You can," Teddy said taking the baby from Hayes to bring back to Allison, "hi Everly I'm grandma. I'm your mommy's mom. You are as perfect as your mommy."

Teddy laid the baby in Allison's arms.

"Should I feed her," Allison asked.

"You could try," Annie said, "she might not eat much right away."

"How do I," Allison asked.

"Stay calm," Annie said, "we can guide you."

Teddy and Annie helped Allison figure out how to feed her baby for the first time.

"I'm going to go bean," Annie smiled at her little sister," she's beautiful congratulations."

"Bye Nee," Allison said not really paying attention to her sister, she was focused on her baby.

When the baby finished eating Teddy said, "Asher go with Everly up to the nursery to be examined. Allison you have to stay here you don't have enough control of your legs back yet.

Asher followed the nurse pushing the incubator anxious about his daughter.

Allison began to cry.

"She's here," Teddy said. "Everly is here. Baby girl she's okay, she's going to be okay."

"Will she be okay," Allison asked.

"Just being cautious," Teddy assured, she hoped she would be okay.

"If she's not," Allison asked.

"They we get the three of you all the help she needs," Teddy said, "but she's going to be okay because she has a mommy and daddy who love her."

Asher came back a few minutes later with Everly and Hayes.

"She looks good," Hayes said, "she's healthy."

"The cord," Allison asked.

"It happens and we'll watch her as she grows but she'll be good," Hayes assured.

"Give her back," Allison said.

Asher took the baby from the hospital bassinet and carried her to sit with Allison.

"Hi baby," Allison said, "Everly Alexandra Grace Blouin."
