Mining Through to the Finish Line
Izuku was about to jump to one of the stone pillars to get through the Fall obstacle, but he stops himself when saw Yuma is glowing red and instantly became curious to see what he's about to do.
"Let's go!" Yuma jumped the highest he could over the cliff looking like he's about to fall.
But falling wasn't in Yuma's dictionary in this case as he flew through the air and over the Fall much to some students' surprise, they did not see that coming including Leo who looked back to see that that Yuma guy is catching up to him again.
"No way! He can fly!" Mina gasped.
"Wow, he's like a human rocket. Ribbit." Tsuyu commented.
"Looks like Yuma has finally decided to use his Quirk." Tori said, seeing Yuma flying through the obstacle passing through the obstacle.
"Oh yeah, nothing can stop me now!" Yuma shouted with excitement.
Yuma Tsukumo, his Quirk: Xyz Energy! This Quirk allows him to conjure a powerful red energy throughout his body granting him few things such as strength, speed, and flight along with using the energy to attack as well.
"Time to knock you out of the sky!" Yuma put his hands together, making a red energy ball from his Quirk.
"Play Ball!" Yuma threw the red energy ball right for Leo like a baseball player in the biggest game of his entire life.
Leo turns his head around to see the red energy ball coming at him which he got scared of a bit, but quickly shook the fear out of his head and spin his body to smack the energy ball away with the shovel-shape end of his tail sending it right back at Yuma.
"Whoa!" Yuma gasped as he quickly dodges it not wanting to be hit by his own attack.
"Looks like it's not gonna be that easy to knock him down. Should've expected nothing less from the guys who survived the villain attacks!" Yuma was impressed.
"So, sit back and enjoy the show!" Mei fired one wire arrow at one of the rock pillars.
"For those of us in the Support Course, this is the perfect obstacle to show off our ingenious ideas and creations to any companies out there who might wanna recruit us!" Mei bragged as she floats a little from her hover soles and pulls in from the wire as she jumped.
"I hope employers are watching! My super-cute little babies are sure to make a splash!" Mei excitedly laughed as she flings herself over.
"There she goes again bragging on about her inventions, and she still calls them "babies" too." Luna sighed with a small smile.
"But even so, I'm not about to lose!" Luna was determined to get through this obstacle race and come out in first place.
"Guess I better show off my stuff." Tori decided this was the moment to use her Quirk.
"Come on out, Kurivolt!" Tori sparked red electricity between her hands, a round sphere is formed for a moment and then pops a black round creature with a red lightning bolt symbol on its forward and little red feet, circuit lines on the back of its body with a metal spike for the tail.
"Alright, Kurivolt, I need your help with getting over this obstacle. Can I count on you?" Tori asked her Quirk and Kurivolt cute humming sound with a happy expression even though it doesn't have a mouth.
"That's great! Now we just need you to be a little bigger!" Tori grabbed hold of her Kurivolt and spark the red electricity on it causing the size to be half as big as her body.
Tori Meadows, her Quirk: Kurivolt. She got herself a sentient creature created from the electricity from her body as it acts as her supporter with a shocking ability to zap anyone and anything it comes into contact with. It also consumes electricity, the more it has the bigger and stronger it becomes. She can even use the electricity for herself as well.
"Okay, we're all set!" Tori smiled and jumps onto her Quirk.
"Hi-ho, Kurivolt! Away!" Tori shouted with excitement and Kurivolt flew over the Fall going past the other contestants.
"Oh man, look how cool that is!" Ochaco gasped while just arriving at one of the rocky pillars.
(With Present Mic and Aizawa)
"In the world of heroes, it's hard to get popular without a flashy Quirk. Right, Eraser Head?" Present Mic asked his co-announcer.
"I don't know what you're talking about, idiot." Aizawa ticked off, clearly feeling a little touchy on the subject.
(Back to the Obstacle Race)
Shoto is shown sliding through the ropes using his ice on his feet and close to the stairway to the third obstacle course.
"Looks like Todoroki is still skating by easily." Present Mic commented.
Shoto turns around seeing Katsuki flying over the Fall with his exploding Quirk and can see the big angry rage on his face.
"(Looks like he's getting fired up. It took him long enough.)" Shoto thought commented as he tries running the fastest, he could try to catch up with the three runner ups.
"You suck!" Katsuki shouted.
"Don't forget about me!" Luna said as she comes close to Katsuki from behind.
"My older brother's probably watching this. I can't let him see me look foolish, I've got this!" Tenya jumped onto a rope and slide through using his Engine Quirk while in a foolish-looking pose.
"Boy, does he look foolish!" Present Mic commented with a little chuckle.
(With the Audience)
"Can you believe those three students up ahdead? They're so far ahead and the first two trying to one up each other." One bald head man with a blue heart tattoo commented.
"Not only that, but they also appear to have some atheism abilities of their own." One hero with eight eyes pointed out.
"Well, I'm not surprised. Don't you know who Leo's big brother is? The Star Heart Hero, Stardust Dragon!" One guy revealed Leo's relationship with Yusei.
"Are you for real?"
"Yeah, and guess who's the guy in fourth place? He's the son of the Flame Hero: Endeavor." Another guy revealed who Shoto's dad is.
"Now that's fucking nuts?!" A woman gasped.
"Bet he's trying to get in first place for having that spot taken from him." Another woman with chainsaw teeth chuckled.
"It's going to be intense, that's for sure." A man with twenty eyes on his right arm nodded.
(With Leo and Izuku)
The two friends are running the fastest their legs could go with Yuma right behind them followed by Shoto while the rest are still clearing the Fall obstacle.
"The leaders are putting some distance between him, and the students stuck at The Fall! It hasn't been announced how many competitors will next it through to the next round, so there's no time to relax." Present Mic said.
"(I have to get into first place.)" Shoto thought determined to win this race.
Shoto quickly unleashed an icy road ahead getting between the three boys as they quickly notice this, and they jump out of the way in shock when spiky ices pop out almost hitting them.
"Now's my chance!" Shoto used his ice again to make himself an icy rail slide to get above and ahead of the boys.
"No you don't!" Izuku quickly dashed forward trying to use her superspeed to get ahead of Shoto.
However, just as Shoto and Izuku were about to be in neck-in-neck of the race, they suddenly stop themselves from moving any further because they have stumbled upon the third and final obstacle of the race, and this one looks difficult.
"And now, we're finally approaching the last obstacle. Everyone had better tread carefully, you're stepping onto a minefield!" Present Mic announced crazy as Shoto and Izuku sees the giant field.
"If you look carefully, you can see where those little bombs are buried, so keep your eyes on the ground, folks." Present advised.
"By the way, those land mines were designed for the games, so they might be loud and flashy, but they're not all that powerful… Just enough to make you wet your pants!" Present Mic warned in a freaking out tone.
"Get a hold of yourself." Aizawa sighed.
"Oh man, that's going to be troublesome to get around." Izuku worried.
"Too bad you don't have wings!" Leo called out as he flies over the two.
"Or having the ability to fly!" Yuma laughed while flying over them with his Quirk.
"(Now I'm starting to wish I have wings.)" Izuku thought felt jealous.
Both Izuku and Shoto started moving through the minefield only to go at a slow pace because they don't want to accidentally set off one of the bombs, then the other students started to catch up as well.
"(Very clever, those in the lead are actually at a disadvantage here. Guess it makes for good entertainment.)" Shoto thought commented, seeing that Izuku is also having a hard time.
Katsuki flew over the bombs with his explosions fast and straight between Shoto and Izuku much to their surprise.
"Bastard! Your declaration of war was to the wrong person!" Katsuki shouted and threw an exploding left hook which Shoto was forced to dodge.
"And Deku, don't think for a second that fancy power of yours is going to do anything to beat me!" Katsuki threw another explosion at the dark green hair boy who blocks it with his arms.
"Just like, a new student takes the lead! The media here is going crazy! There's nothing they love more than an upset!" Present Mic excited.
With the other students, they are slowly catching up to the two leaders using their skills and Quirks to get through the minefield. Tori is at a disadvantage right now because she can't use her Quirk too much to fly all the way to the finish line otherwise it would drain her of the electricity in her body.
"Hey, hey, hey, the rest of the competitors are catching up and what's this?" Present Mic surprised.
Then the crowd sees Leo and Yuma fighting each other by pushing and ramming onto each other while trying to make their way to the finish line.
Yuma grabs Leo by the tail to throw him down to the ground, but he lands on all four and launched himself back up for a headbutt in the stomach sending him higher.
"Can our two leaders fight each other and stay in front of the competition?" Present Mic asked.
"(I have to get ahead of them somehow, I can't let myself be in third place.)" Izuku thought tried to think of an idea to take the lead.
But then he looks down seeing the spots where the mine bombs are, and an idea came into his head. An idea so crazy, that it just might work.
Izuku uses Full Cowling to dig and scoop up four of the bombs placing them right on top of one still buried.
"Thanks for the idea, Kacchan." Izuku thanked, mentally ready for this.
"Huh, Midoriya? What are you doing?" Shoto asked.
"Taking the lead! Super-Explosive Turbo Speed!" The bombs exploded from Izuku slamming foot on them creating a giant pink explosion which got everyone's attention, even the leaders.
"What's with that huge explosion in the back?! That was WAY more powerful than it should be!" Present Mic gasped.
Everyone turns to see Izuku suddenly soaring through the air almost like he is flying as a jet as he flew closer and closer to both the shocked Leo and Yuma as they had no idea what is going on, but it was so awesome to them.
"Incredible! I don't know what just happened, whatever the case, Class 1-A's Izuku Midoriya is suddenly in hot pursuit of first place!" Present Mic surprised of this.
"Oh man, it was like something out of an anime ultimate move!" Leo commented.
"I know, I wish I could've seen how it was done!" Yuma nodded with excitement.
They were busy being awestruck with Izuku's crazy stunt that he flew right over them and getting ahead of them too.
"Strike that! The lead is his!" Present Mic excitedly screamed as the crowd roars with excitement of the unexpected.
"Whoa, that was crazy!" Luna was surprised that Izuku would even do something like that.
(Outside the Stadium)
"Stardust, did you train one of them to do something like that?" Echidna asked curiously.
"No, that one was probably something he thought of all on his own out of desperation and the drive to win that race no matter what." Stardust Dragon shook his head and was well surprised to see that Izuku actually did that.
"Now I'm really curious to see how this race will with that kid we met before." Mt. Lady said.
"You met him?" Stardust Dragon asked.
"Around a year ago when there was a sludge village attack causing quite a mayhem and even held another boy hostage." Kaumi Wood started the story.
"Then out of nowhere, that kid suddenly jumped into danger trying to rescue his friend even though it was fucked up stupid and insane. He was lucky that All Might came in and punched the villain away." Death Arms remembered that day.
"But the weirdest thing is that we thought the kid was Quirkless. He didn't show any signs of having a Quirk when he charged in." Mt. Lady mentioned.
"I see, so someone who was more of a hero than you guys ended up trying to save someone fully knowing the danger." Stardust Dragon said, looking at the screen again to see Izuku.
"The Hell did you just say? That kid was going to get himself killed back there, he should've just stayed behind and" Death Arms was shut up when Echidna's tail was held close to his neck and the tail looks sharper like a sword from one side.
"I believe that is quite enough out of you." Echidna glared at the muscle hero.
Misty Tredwell, Hero Name: Echidna. Her Quirk: Bladed Tail. She can transform her snake-body tail into a sharp weapon like a sword that can cut through almost anything, and even form more blades on her tail to become a living drill along with her tail being harder than steel.
"As my beloved just said, that boy is more of a hero than you three put together because I seem to recall you three not being able to do anything. Hesitating to step in to rescue that boy all because of some fire and the sludge villain having the upper hand, how truly pathetic." Echidna mocked.
Mt. Lady, Death Arms, and Kaumi Wood felt a strong sting in them as deep down, they knew that she was right.
"If nothing was done, then that boy would've become a new set of clothes for him had it not been for Izuku jumping in to help long enough for All Might to show up." Echidna pointed out the worse outcome that could've happened.
"So, how about the three of you take that experience and make sure that never happens again. Never hesitate to things like fire and such, charge forward for being a hero means risking your very life to save lives is what it means." Echidna lectured.
Stardust Dragon smiles at his girlfriend taking the action to lecture the three pro heroes knowing that it will give them something to look back on and to make them remember what hero they truly are.
(With Izuku)
"(I flew over them just like I planned, but there was more force than I expected! And… I didn't think about how I was gonna land!)" Izuku thought worried as he is slowly falling towards the rest of the minefield.
"Deku!" Katsuki screamed as he explodes his way to Izuku.
"What the Hell do you think you're doing, huh?" Katsuki was angered.
"Don't think I'm going to let you get ahead of me!" Luna tried to move faster.
"Fuck! I can't lose here!" Leo pushed Yuma off and flew after Izuku.
"Hey!" Yuma yelled before flying after them.
Seeing that this race is not going in his favor, Shoto has decided to use his Ice Quirk to make a small yet steady path through the minefield.
"(This ice path will end up helping the others, but there's no time to worry about them!)" Shoto thought running as fast as he can to catch up to Izuku.
"Look at that plot twist! Those three aren't fighting anymore, they're chasing Midoriya! That's what having a common enemy will do in this competition! This fight is still far from over though!" Present Mic excitedly to see how this race will end.
This was going to be the race to the finish line once Izuku lands back on the ground.

Wow, this race just got more intense as we get to see more new Quirks from the racers and Izuku has suddenly used a crazy idea to launch himself high into the air, and now it looks like we're going into the last leg pull of the obstacle race and we will see who will be the one to win the first game of the UA Sports Festival.
