Ugh… Everything's fuzzy… My head… Man, what happened to me?

"... can't believe this…"

"... eep search..."

What… what's that? Are those voices? Maybe there's someone outside… but where? It's so dark… so… so…

Crik-crack, crik-crack.

Gah, fingers are numb! Hmm… must've fallen asleep… Heh, dad always said I stayed up too late… Yeah, that's probably what happened to me. I'll just stretch, and soon enough, I'll be as right as-

Bang.

Bang? That's strange. Nothing wouldn't just bang. Here, let me move my leg and-

Bang.

… weird. Not even a step and the whole world goes "bang." Okay, I have some feeling back in my fingers… I'll try to feel and…

It's cold.

No, not just cold. It's smooth. Round. Metallic. Like… a capsule of some sort.

Wait. A capsule?

What's going on? Where am I? Why am I stuck in here?

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Hey! He-gak!" Crud-throat's a bit dried! Words got stuck in my throat.

"... found someone!"

Thank god, there's someone out there!

With a sudden jolt, the floor and the walls around me shook. I felt the capsule and myself rising. A second later, I stopped and my shoulder hit the shaking wall. "Oof!"

"... you okay?"

"Y… eah." Dang, my throat's still dry.

"Hold on!" That voice. It was lighter. A girl's.

Clang!

"Yikes!" Hands? Punching through the wall? Where the heck did I end up?

Screech.

Darkness fades. A tiny light comes…

"What the…?"

The shape moves over the light. My voice stops at its own. Her own. The light dims. Everything clears, and I see… an 'S?'

It's not just an 'S.' A symbol… it…

No, no! There's something wrong. Why's my body freezing up? Why am I in here? I… I...

Screeeeeech.

I shook at the wall opening up even more. The 'S' becomes clearer. Closer. Closer.

'N-no! I gotta get away! I gotta get out!'

The light grows larger with my thoughts. The shape in the light becomes a body. A body wearing the 'S'... tearing the wall open.

'Get out, get out, get out!'

There's a flash of green. Then, a scream (a girl's?). Then, my own.

"GET OUT!"

I push myself forward, at last running out of the pod and into the fading green. I run past a lithe figure in a red cape and lying on the ground, her groans fading. Another pops into a corner of my eye, a far more threatening figure in black. In the corner of my other eye is a hole. An exit.

So, I go for it and into a long metal hall. The one in black, thankfully, doesn't follow.

"Dear god, why are there so many walls here?" I scream, my voice back to normal. Something's a bit odd about it, but I got more concerns. "There's gotta be an exit 'round here!"

I turn at a corner. Another hall. Must've been my fourth one. Grey walls and floor blur past me. I follow the bright red "EXIT" arrow on it, past the several doors lined against the hall. Another end to this other hall. Must be another hall, but if it means I'm one step closer then-

I stop. Two figures are at the end of the hall. One in blue and another… in white clown makeup?

I look around. There's a lot of doors, but which one?

The two at the halls' end call for me. The one in blue tells me to stop. The clown says the same, raising her bat. "We won't harm ya! Much!" she says, and I swear, my heart leaped to my throat.

Screw it, just choose a door!

And I do. Surprising that the door flung off, right towards the clown, with a single wide swing. I run again, hearing blue calling to me. I see him by the clown's side, more than the room I enter, or the wall I see in front of me.

"Woah-!"

My raised hands push through what should've been a hard wall. Like paper. My legs step out its smoky remnants and stumble. I turn from the identical hallway to the hole in the wall. The hole I made.

"What the…?"

A cry from the hole's other side makes me run. The exit sign says go the other way, but I got no time! My feet are moving without thinking!

'Gotta get out of here! Gotta…'

Voices rage from behind me. From the hole I left. A quick look over my shoulder shows no one following. Yet.

I go for the far wall. I look at my hands-my hands covered in green gloves-and push against the wall. Not paper like the last one. Some more effort digs my fingers into the hard metal.

I jerk from a quick tug. "C'mon!"

Another tug tears a tiny hole. Another widens it a little more. I just… I need to… pull! "Hrgh!"

Screech-

I stop. Only for a moment. Spotting the figures in blue and black gives enough motivation.

Screeeeeeeeech!

I squeeze through the hole, not bothering with a full one. Another wall blocks me in another hall, so I do the same. Just… need… more force!

Leaving another hole behind me, I now follow the red arrow. It wasn't long before I got to the new hall's end. I hear explosions from where I exited and further down. I run faster, much faster, at the new turn.

I'm going up. I think I am. I can't do it forever. Those guys, whoever they are, will catch me! There has to be a way out. Some way I can-

I stop, smacking my head. "Of course. Stupid!" I say to the bonk.

Reality matches my hope, as resounding echoes match my knocks on the wall. So, I dig into its metallic frame like I did with the others. A couple kicks make it easier. Must've had something do with the similar green material on my feet covering my hands too. Now, I'm gone through the hole.

Then, I go through another.

Then, another.

Then, another.

Then, another…

No idea how many walls I went through. Couldn't count over my pounding heart. I didn't feel out of breath, but I sigh at natural sunlight and a not-so natural street right before me. A street empty of vehicles… and people. Convenient, but I ain't complaining.

After staring at the brick wall in front, I turn down the street and rush into the alley nearby. With the wired gate in front, I bend my knees and leap up to climb the wire.

Instead, I leap over it.

"W-woah!"

My scream lowers with me onto the ground. I roll, run some more, and push my staggering feet right towards the gigantic trash bin. My back hits and slides down the wall by it. My legs bend to hide the rest of me behind the bin.

My legs, green as my hands.

I hold back a startled gasp to breathe in and out. There has to be an explanation. What happened? Where am I? Just what is all of this?

"Okay, okay, take a moment. Think, Joe. Just think!"

"I don't think talking to yourself is a good sign."

I almost leap at the quiet voice. I freeze instead at the little figure standing in front of me. A little girl. "W-who are you?" I could only ask. Seriously, how did she just appear there? And why was she wearing only white?

The black bob cut tilts with the girls' tiny head. "I'm nobody, but I think a lot of people will ask that of you," she says.

"Hey, I'm just some guy-"

"Nobody will say that."

"And why?"

The girl doesn't say a thing. She only walks down the alley. Standing up, I follow her to the other end.

"H-hey. Do you know where I am?" I ask.

"Gotham City," the girl answers.

I blink. Then, I could only give the right response: laughing. "Funny, kid. Seriously, where am I?"

"Gotham." The girl stops, and her expression, I see, is still the same.

"C'mon, that can't be. Gotham isn't…"

My voice stops before I can say "real." It took me a while to notice a red haze covering my eyes. Through it are several buildings. One building has a news line. Others have billboards for advertisements of some sorts. Cars pass by on a road while people walk by on the sidewalks. The newsreel above provides the image of a man I once thought to be fiction with words under it.

BATMAN, HERO OF GOTHAM, RAISES MONEY TO PROVIDE FOR...

"What?" I ask. "I mean… what? Is this a prank?"

"I don't think so," says the girl. "It's as real as I've ever known it."

I shake my head. "I gotta ask someone. None of this makes sense!"

"I wouldn't do that."

I stop my foot at the alley's exit. "What? Why shouldn't I?"

The girl points, and I look to the broken window beside us. I should have been seeing a regular guy: dark-haired, not so tall, leaning a bit to the right. The thing I see instead… it's me? Couldn't be, but…

The green figure in the mirror stares back with red bug-like lenses for eyes. The eyes glow from a round helmet, and a pair of antennae stick out from in between. The glow isn't as bright as the green diamond in my waist, but still. A chestplate too muscular for a scrawny guy like me bulges over a dark suit of some kind. The green hands, the ones I know were my own, reach for the silvery metal covering my gaping jaw.

I turn towards a scream. The girl isn't with me anymore. It's just a woman. A woman who has noticed me.

"Ah, sh–"

AN: Welp, there's that. Basically, this was meant to be the beginning of an Injustice/KR crossover with an OC Rider brought from the KR world to the Injustice world by Luthor as a "final plan," if you will. It would've gone into the OC Rider, or Ore (as he has kryptonite powering his armor), going on adventures with Batman, Supergirl, and crew, facing off alternate versions, meeting other Riders, and ultimately returning home.

Clearly, I didn't get far.

Sure, this idea was kinda strange, especially since I used 2nd present POV. I doubt if I'll ever get back to it, but who knows, maybe it'll turn better in someone else's hands. Until then, take care.

Raika out.
