CHAPTER 1:

THE PROJECT DAY

Sakura's POV:

--

"Mommy!" My heart swelled with love as I looked down at my 4-year-old daughter. "Yes, honey?" I replied softly, lifting her out of the car. We had just arrived home after I picked her up from kindergarten.

"Chocho told me how her parents met today. Can you tell me how you met Daddy, Mama?" Her eyes sparkled with curiosity, a mirror of the innocent wonder that filled her little world. Chocho, her best friend, had evidently piqued Sarada's interest in our love story, and I couldn't deny her request.

"Of course I can, honey. Let's get inside first, okay?" I suggested gently, smiling at her eagerness.

"Okey!" Sarada nodded enthusiastically, her smile widening as she skipped towards the front door.

Ah, that smile—I would move mountains to see it light up her face forever. With a tender heart, I carried her inside and settled onto the couch. Sasuke was occupied with work today and would be home late. As I looked at my daughter, I began to recount our story.

"I remember the day I first saw your daddy like it was yesterday"

...

It was at the school gymnasium, buzzing with energy as students from various schools gathered for the regional science fair. Banners hung proudly from the rafters, and the air was charged with the scent of polished floors and anticipation.

i had meticulously crafted a science project—a model demonstrating renewable energy solutions. I had poured months into its creation, delving deep into research and refining every detail. That day, I believed it was my chance to shine, to prove that a girl from a normal, middle-class background could compete with the best.

Little did I know, I thought to myself, that this day would mark the beginning of something far beyond my wildest dreams.

The shrill sound of my alarm clock jolted me awake. I groaned, reaching over to silence it. Today was the day of the regional science fair, a day I had been anticipating with a mix of excitement and anxiety for months. I lay in bed for a moment, staring at the ceiling, before finally summoning the energy to get up.

"Okay, Sakura. This is it. Time to show everyone what you're made of," I whispered to myself, trying to muster up some confidence.

I shuffled to the bathroom, my feet dragging across the cool tiles. Flicking on the light, I squinted against the sudden brightness, the mirror reflecting my sleepy face back at me. I splashed cold water on my face, the shock jolting me awake. The chill cascaded down my cheeks, invigorating my senses and clearing away the remnants of sleep. I reached for my toothbrush and smeared a dollop of minty toothpaste onto it. As I brushed my teeth, my mind began to race through the details of my project. Renewable energy solutions. Months of research, endless reading, and countless late nights had gone into perfecting my model. Today, it had to be flawless.

Rinsing my mouth, I took a moment to look at myself in the mirror. My pink hair, vibrant and unique, framed my face in a messy bun. It was a striking feature, one that had set me apart since childhood. I'd been picked on because of it a lot in the past, especially in kindergarten. The other kids used to call me a freak. Their taunts and laughter had stung, making me feel like an outcast.

That changed the day I met Ino. She had marched up to the bullies with a fierce look in her eyes and told them to back off. From that moment, she helped me gain confidence, becoming my best friend and a constant source of support. Ino was the kind of person who lit up a room with her presence, her smile contagious and her spirit unbreakable. She never let me feel alone, and I truly appreciated her for that. She was one of the people I would never want to lose.

Stepping out of the bathroom, I moved to my closet, my heart beating with a mix of excitement and nerves. I carefully selected a pair of blue trousers that hugged my legs just right, and a cute pink top that added a splash of color to my outfit. I slipped into my fitting white shoes, completing the look. The combination felt perfect—comfortable yet stylish, professional yet personal.

I took one last glance in the mirror, adjusting my messy bun. My pink hair was more than just a color; it was a symbol of my journey, of the struggles I had overcome, and the confidence I had gained. I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and anticipation. Today was the day I would present my project, showcasing months of hard work and dedication. With a deep breath, I grabbed my bag and headed out, ready to face whatever the day had in store.

Downstairs, my mom was already bustling about in the kitchen. The smell of toast and coffee filled the air, comforting and familiar.

"Good morning, sweetie!" she called out as I entered the room. "Ready for your big day?"

I nodded, smiling. "Morning, Mom. Yeah, I think so. Just a little nervous."

She placed a plate of toast and scrambled eggs in front of me, giving my shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "You're going to do great, Sakura. Just be yourself and let your passion shine through."

I took a deep breath, nodding again. "Thanks, Mom."

After breakfast, I gathered my things, carefully loading my project into the car. My dad had already started the engine, ready to drive me to the the gymnasium where the project day would be. It was in the gymnasium of a different public highschool of this town, completely at the other direction of where my highschool was located.

"Got everything?" he asked, glancing back at me through the rearview mirror.

"Yep. All set," I replied, fastening my seatbelt.

The drive to the high school gymnasium felt long, the anticipation building with each passing minute. I stared out the window, watching the streets go by, trying to calm my racing heart.

-

The gymnasium was a hive of activity when we arrived. Students from various schools were setting up their projects, the air buzzing with excitement and nervous energy. I spotted Ino in the crowd, her blonde hair making her easy to find.

"Good luck, sweetheart," my dad said as he helped me unload my project. "I'll be rooting for you."

"Thanks, Dad," I said, giving him a quick hug before heading over to Ino.

"Hey, Sakura!" Ino greeted me with a bright smile. It was a smile that always made me smile back. It was like magic. She always managed to make me atleast less sad or worried with it. "You ready to win this thing?" her baby blue eyes shined with excitement. She had the perfect appearance of a barbie. Long blond hair, blue eyes, fair pale skin, pink lips and a Curvy body. Sometimes I envied her for it but of course it never was something that I would be so much jealous of to start a drama of it. That wasn't my character. I absolutely loved her confidence.

I laughed, shaking my head. "I don't know about winning, Ino. This day isn't a competition but an opportunity to show our ideas through projects to companies, but I'm definitely ready to try my best"

"Yeah yeah, whatever..."

...

We set up our projects side by side, chatting about our presentations and the other students we recognized. Ino's project on medicinal plants was impressive, as always. She had a knack for making even the most complex topics seem fascinating.

-

As the morning went on, I felt more and more at ease. The judges made their rounds, stopping at each project to ask questions and take notes. I had just finished explaining my model to a particularly stern-looking judge when I heard a commotion at the far end of the gym.

Curious, I glanced over and saw a group of students gathered around one of the tables, their attention focused on a tall, dark-haired boy. He stood out immediately, his presence commanding and almost intimidating.

"That's Sasuke Uchiha," Ino whispered, leaning close to me. Seems like ino noticed where my attention was fixated on "He's from the private school across town. His family is super rich, and he's supposed to be a genius."

"A genius?" That sounded pretty promising. I couldn't stop myself from asking and turned to ino with curiosity "How do you know him?" Ino looked at me as if I was living under a rock. Maybe she was right. "Uhmm..gurl..that's Sauske Uchiha we are talking about. Don't you follow the magazines?" To be honest, no, I didn't. I was always too focused on my studies to even concentrate on other things . Exspecially since last year from the point our teachers had announced that we would have a project today. Yes, we had time for this almost a year. "No, I don't Ino. You know how concentrated I was on this damn project to even think of anything else." Ino looked at me with a knowing gaze. "Yes, I know, forehead. Still, you should relax a little bit." I only nodded, turned my gaze back to sasuke watched as he spoke to the students around him, his expression serious and composed. He was undeniably handsome, with sharp features and intense eyes that seemed to take in everything around him.

"Wow, he's… breathtaking.." As much as I never was the one to compliment a boy based on looks, I couldn't help it this time. Who is he, really? I mean expect the fact that he apparently is someone famous.." But why was he here? He didn't seem to have any project with him. He just sat there and talked to a pair of students.

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I turned back to my project. This was my moment, and I couldn't afford to get distracted. As the hours ticked by, I found myself glancing over at Sasuke more often than I would have liked. He moved with a quiet confidence, completely at ease in the bustling environment of the day.

By the time the judges had finished their rounds, the afternoon sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. None or the judges said anything to anyone yet. Kind of disappointing but atleast it wasn't over. They would look tomorrow again. Ino cheered me up, and we packed up our projects, chatting about the day's events.

Back home, I couldn't shake the curiosity that had been gnawing at me all day. I knew I wouldn't be able to rest until I learned more about Sasuke Uchiha. I fired up my laptop

and typed his name into the search bar, feeling a little guilty but also eager to satisfy my curiosity.

What I found was a treasure trove of information. Articles about the Uchiha family's vast business empire, profiles on Sasuke's accomplishments, and photos of him at various high-profile events filled the screen. His family owned one of the largest conglomerates in the country, with interests ranging from technology and social justice to real estate. The Uchiha name was synonymous with wealth and influence.

"Wow... he's not just rich, he's like royalty."

I couldn't help but think. He seems to be a big deal. I couldn't even imagine it would it would be like to be a part of such a influencal family. As someone that comes from the middle class I wasn't poor but I also wasn't buffed. It was just enough for us to live without struggles. My dad was an IT Specialist for a company and my mom worked as a nurse in konoha hospital. Seems like I inherited my my moms interest in medicine. My goal is to be a doctor and help those in need like my idol tsunade senju who was recognised as the best doctor in Japan, one of the best world wide and was praised for her intelligence and achievements. To be someone like her would be a dream come true.

Now back to the uchiha family that I searched up in the Internet, I scrolled through the pages. I couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and apprehension. On one hand, his achievements were impressive, several gold medals in material arts such as tekvando, karate and even in swimming competitions, but on the other, I wondered what kind of person he really was. Was he kind? Arrogant? Did he live up to the image portrayed in the media, mysterious, aloof and yet helping because of his families donations, or was there more to him than met the eye?

"I hope he's not an arrogant bastard."

It would be very disappointing if he was. I have seen many rich kids walking around as if they had stick stuck up their asses thinking they are better than anyone else because of the the achievements of their parents.

With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I closed my laptop and prepared for bed. Tomorrow was another day, and I would likely see him again at the competition's final events. As I lay down, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of anticipation.

With that I drifted off to dreamless sleep and wondering what the future would hold.

The next day...

It wasn't a single-day event; instead, it spanned several weeks to accommodate all the schools and projects but that of course didn't mean I had to be there every day. They would listen to each project and those that finnished would not have to go anymore until everything was announced. Today, I decided to go as well but tomorrow I wouldn't. But that was understandable. Regardless how much I love this event, I still had to school and I couldn't afford to fall behind.

I arrived at the gymnasium early. Ino and I had planned to meet before the judging began, but as I set up my project, I noticed a group of familiar faces across the room. Tenten, with her confident stride and no-nonsense attitude, was chatting animatedly with Temari, who exuded a calm confidence that drew others in.

Nearby, Hinata stood quietly, her gentle demeanor contrasting with her occasional shy smile.

"Ino!" I called out, waving to get her attention. She turned and waved back, gesturing for me to come over.

As I approached, Tenten greeted me with a grin. "Hey, Sakura! Ready for another day of judging?"

"Absolutely," I replied, feeling a surge of confidence. "How's everyone feeling today?" I asked. "I am fine sakura. How are you?" Hinata answered with smile on her face looking directly at my emerald orbs. The smile really made her look more nice than she already was. Her dark blue long banged her was a contrast to her grey-lavender eyes. It made her stand out. "I feel very good today" was my response to hinatas question.

The conversation flowed easily as we caught up on each other's projects and exchanged tips for the upcoming judging. Ino, always the social butterfly, kept the mood light with her jokes and anecdotes.

While we were engrossed in our conversation, a sudden hush fell over the room. Wispers were to be heard and some girls were giggling. Curios why the atmosphere suddenly changed I looked up and saw Sasuke Uchiha walking towards our direction, accompanied by a blond-haired boy who was practically shouting at him.

"I am so cool! Did you see the judges' faces when I pulled that prank on him? Priceless!" The blond boy grinned widely, his ocean blue eyes sparkling with mischief. Sasuke merely smirked in response and rolled his eyes. His dark eyes glancing around the room with a hint of amusement.

He seemed unfazed by his friend's exuberance, the contrast between them striking. They couldn't be more different. Quiet, dark and introvert type of guy was walking around with a loudmouth extroverted blond. It really was a surprise. So opposites seem to attract. And no, this rule doesn't always apply for romantic relationships.

As they approached, I couldn't help but notice the reactions of my friends. Tenten's chocolate brown eyes widened slightly, her gaze flickering between Sasuke and the blond boy.

Temari raised a blond eyebrow, a smirk playing at her lips looking at hinata knowingly. Hinata, standing next to me, blushed furiously, her gaze fixed on the blond boy with an almost adoring look. "She has a crush on the blond one?" She totally does haha. I ship it! They would look adorable together.

"He's Naruto," Ino whispered to me, her voice barely audible over the sudden silence that had fallen over our group. She always loved to inform me about the people around here. She somehow always knew.

"Naruto?" I repeated, glancing at the blond boy who was now laughing loudly at something Sasuke had said. "Sasuke's friend?" Ino nodded. " Bestfriends. yeah, they're practically inseparable. Total opposites, though." I couldn't agree more.

Before I could say anything else, Sasuke and Naruto had passed by our group, their conversation fading into the background as they headed towards somewhere unkown to me. Why sasuke was here without a project still was a question to me.

I watched them go, a nagging curiosity tugging at me.

Later that day, after the judging had concluded and the crowds had thinned out, I decided to take a break and visit the restroom. As I hurried down the empty hallway, lost in my thoughts, I rounded a corner and collided with someone.

The impact sent my project folder flying, papers scattering across the floor. Flustered, I bent down to gather them, mumbling apologies under my breath. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention," reaching for a stray paper.

HAHA!

I am mean, am I not? Doing a cliffhanger right when our precious main character sakura bumbs into someone.

I wonder who that is...;)

Maybe you guys can guess-

Sasuke: Stop yapping, already. I think we all know who that 'someone' is.

Ah, is that so? And why is that? :(

Sasuke: Simply because-

Sakura: -appears next to sasuke- Now now, Anata don't ruin the mood now. although the cliffhanger is indeed very mean

Whaaaaat? Ok I admit, but they gotta deal with it anyway haha..So see y -gets pushed to the side-

Naruto: -ALL IN NEXT CHAP!

HEYY, THAT'S MY LINE!
