Chapter 2

Miko and Bulkhead returned to base. Everyone was in main room. Optimus still worked at the console, Jack and Raf played videogames while their partners watched how they play. Ratchet returned from storage and continued to work on synthetic energon.

Miko shouted: "Hello everyone! How r you?!" Miko shouted from Bulkhead's passenger seat.

Ratchet again started to regret coming to this planet. Everyone else looked at them. Miko couldn't understand why they are looking at her so strange, somehow combining annoyance and excitement. Jack spoke to her.

Jack said: "Miko come here quickly, we have a story to hear."

Miko felt relief, she guessed Jack didn't understand that she skipped her last class.

Actually, Jack already forgot about it, he was too focused on thinking how he can be similar to Megatron.

Miko got out of Bulkhead, he transformed and placed a hand before Miko so he can transport her to human area. She laid down on another couch.

Bulkhead asked: "What do you mean by the story?"

Optimus walked next to his teammates and human area.

Optimus said: "A story about Golden age of Cybertron and about Megatron."

Bulkhead was surprised to hear that, while Miko was excited to listen to it.

Ratchet was amused to hear that, he thought for himself: "Right I forgot they didn't know about it. They should know."

Optimus said: "At Golden age high casts were living in wealth and peace, at the same time they had power over Cybertron. Low casts didn't have any of that. Low casts almost had no rights, high casts treated them like slaves, especially to miners. And that's where starts Megatron's story, he worked as a miner before he became a famous gladiator."

Everyone looked surprised at Optimus. Bulkhead saw a little of Golden age. That time he worked as a builder. He was somewhere between low and middle cast. He couldn't believe that Megatron at once was even lower that him.

Optimus continued: "Only two types of bots wanted to become gladiators. First somebody who want to fight or test their combat skills. Second somebody who don't have a better choice. Megatron was from the last ones. He decided to become a gladiator just to have a chance to have a better life."

Optimus paused so everyone can process that information. Arcee and Bumblebee were shocked to know that in Golden age not everyone was happy. In that time information about slaves wasn't censored or unspoken but it was more like a spooky story to fear everyone to work hard. They both didn't consider it as fact.

People on other hand wasn't so shocked, considering to their faces it seemed that they tried to remember how many stories in their story were about slavery, and there were a lot.

Optimus continued: "After becoming a famous gladiator he thought that he could change our society to the better, he started to say speeches on the arena in Kaon. He told everyone about his ideas, how Cybertron needs changes, how our system became corrupted. I also listened to his speeches and had similar ideas. After our meeting we became friends and started work together to change Cybertron to the better. Since that moment I even started to think that I found someone who I could name my brother. High casts tried to fail us and our ideas. They tried to blackmail us, didn't let us say speeches, many times we were under arrest. Every time somebody tried to mock him for his ideas he took it with honor, but if they mock somebody of his followers, like Soundwave or me he usually went to fight with them."

Everyone except Miko and Bulkhead, finally understood in what way Megatron and Jack were similar. Jack couldn't understand if somebody that good like Megatron was so good, how could he become a bad guy.

Optimus continued: "But I wasn't agreed with only one thing, his method to change Cybertron. He wanted to overthrow the high casts by military means and force everyone to live in new Cybertron. I thought and still think the same, that it's wrong and changes must be made peacefully. After our speeches before high council our lives changes. He became leader of the Decepticons, and he started a civil war. That the end of the story."

Everyone was silent for few minutes. Then Jack broke the moment of silence.

Jack said: "Thank you Optimus. That was a very interesting story."

Optimus said: "You are welcome. I am glad that now you know a full story."
