Chapter 29

The next morning…

"We didn't…"

"We did…"

"I can verify we did…"

"Aaaauuuuugggghhhhhh" Yua moaned in regret. "What the hell was I thinking…"

"At the time, you were a chubby chaser…."

"SATORU!"

Only to get a snicker out of the two men, she peered at Suguru who had a rather big smile on his face. "You didn't mind? I don't even remember what we did… Oh God, I got to control that…"

Suguru eased himself up a little and smirked. "To be honest with you… not in the least bit. Let's see though since we may or may not be…" his stomach rumbled rather abruptly. "Well, let's see after a late lunch."

Yua was disappointed in herself. Of all the times she blacks out it's when… she shuttered at the notion. Leaving first, she showered and dressed for the day. But there was a distinct lack of children in the house. Then again, the only thing she could remember was Rook hauling everyone out before it all happened.

She found her cell phone on the kitchen table and texted the children. 'It is safe to return, sorry about that'

Only to get a thumbs up from Rook and the others. 'We'll let the younger sibs know, I'm out hunting with Oji now. Shin has the younger sibs with him'

Rook is rather on top of things… it's normally not like him and yet, he has shown maturity in recent weeks. Perhaps it's all the time he spends with Sukuna… that alone should be worrisome!

She prepared a late meal for Suguru, Satoru and herself. When she went out into the domain, there was a strange sight before her. Toji was holding a small bundle to his chest and going to various and selected people. Some he avoided all together, but when his eyes locked on her. A wild look came over him.

"You okay Toji?" she asked.

She blinked and missed him, as he suddenly stood before her!

His chest puffed out oddly as he reveled the little bundle in his arms. "Is that… Megumi?!" By scent alone, Yua knew it was Megumi and yet… why is he rendered this small as an infant? Yuuji wasn't this small to her knowledge.

Toji then began to speak in growled, but it was dragon for. 'This is my child, my son…' in such a proud tone. 'I would be grateful if you looked out for him'

She paused as his smile subsided but he looked serious. "I understand," Yua said gently and nodded to him.

"Oh, he's gotten on that fast…"

She snickered as Lady Tiamat came from behind Toji. "I take it this is not common?"

"Well, depends on the dragon and those around them." She explained. "Right now Toji is approaching all those who HE trusts, introducing Megumi to them. It's his way of showing him off at the same time, asking for help. The more he shows Megumi to others, the more he cements help if needed. For they are aware he is a father with child. He will do another pass later on when he get this out of his system but be more selective."

She thought it over. "So incase something goes wrong… he is hoping we will step up and help defend him and Megumi?"

"Right on the yen!" Lady Tiamat laughed.

But still, something troubled her. "Lady Tiamat… why is Megumi so small?" she asked.

She didn't say anything right away, but she gently nudged Toji to move along, much to her shock, Suguru stepped out… and Toji introduced Megumi to him! She didn't see that coming.

When he was a distance away, Lady Tiamat was worried. "There was no other choice, I had to bide as much time as I could…" she began to explain.

Bide time?

"When a soul rejects the body or the body refuses the soul, that in itself is death."

Yua jumped as Sukuna came from behind her, Rook walked by, slightly covered in blood, but shockingly enough, it was beading off of his body! But she shook her head to the notion and focused.

"What do you mean?" she asked Sukuna.

He took a deep breath and explained. "His human form is destroyed, gone. For his shikigami have taken over and become the flesh, blood and muscle to him now, they are his body. However, he refuses to accept the notion that his summons have done such a thing for him. He believes the moment he merges with them, he has lost those he held close in his power. Thus, he refuses them in hopes of making other arrangements… the only other thing he can do at this point, is to die."

She froze to this, turning to lady Tiamat she nodded but peered at him oddly. "You've known for a while…"

Sukuna nodded. "Ever since he started to alter his appearance and couldn't control it. I've… tried to warn him… he refuses to speak or listen to me… rightfully so." He said bluntly.

Yua knew Sukuna was trying to make amends with Megumi… but this was the reason why… it was to help him save his life!

"Which is why I had to regress him farther than I did for Yuuji." Lady Tiamat explained. "We have bided us time, but remember a baby dragon grows fast in the best conditions… Megumi will flourish, but that will limit how long we have for him to accept his form and be at peace with it."

She didn't realize it was that serious, but Yua understood completely.

Sukuna was about to speak until his phone went off. He was puzzled by it, but froze to the number. "Ryoto?!" he asked instantly the moment he answer. But he was stunned. "Kashimo!?" he demanded.

But then paused again. "My son… yes… is he…" but paused once more. He sighed with relief at the same time, a look of dread was building up on his face. "Yes, I will send someone to pick him up… yes… thank you… and sorry for the damages…" he hung up but his hand was trembling.

"Ryomen?" Lady Tiamat asked, but then paused. She stared out into the distance before nodding. "You best explain yourself sooner than later,"

"I have to go get my son…"

"No, not yet…" Lady Tiamat stated. "Besides, Yuuji is already on his way to do so…"

"I'll go." Yua offered.

"NO!" Scolded Lady Tiamat. It stunned Yua and Sukuna, yet she settled herself. "I'm sorry, no Yua. Yuuji is already on it, Kiyoshi texted him, you need to help Ryomen prepare. You have to tell your child who you are."

"Seriously, I have nearly forgotten what you really look like." Yua muttered.

He was oddly silent about it, he said nothing and went home. "Do you think…" Yua began to ask Lady Tiamat.

She shook her head. "No, but I know someone who will… and he cannot refuse them."
