Ruby hissed in pain as the stock of her Crescent Rose pushed against her shoulder, she racked the bolt back and chambered another specialized round, lining up another shot to knock out this creepy scorpion guy for good, saving her uncle in the process as well! Creepy scorpion guy crouched down and jumped at her uncle again, this time swinging his claw gauntlets wildly while causing uncle Qrow to rotate to have his back against her. Ruby clicked her tongue in frustration, scorpion guy must've known where her position was, she has to relocate and fast!
The rest of team RNJRY have all scattered around Oniyuri, all of them looking for a chance or an opening to jump in and help uncle Qrow but with the speed that the two are fighting at? Not a chance, if they were to jump in, they'd be more of a nuisance than a help! Ren tried taking some shots at scorpion guy but with how close he was to uncle Qrow, he couldn't risk shooting lest the bullets hit him as well. Ruby held onto her Crescent Rose tightly as she used her Semblance to dash over to another rooftop, scorpion guy was pressing on the attack against her uncle, performing quick slashes and more acrobatic movements to avoid getting hit by Ruby again.
She stabbed her Scythe down on the roof tiles and lined up another shot, gritting her teeth and bracing herself as she pulled the trigger. Ruby grunted in pain as the Scythe rocked back violently, digging deep into her shoulder, definitely forming a bruise later. The shot impacted with scorpion guy's Aura, causing him to be flung towards the ground as Ruby shot at him at a downward angle. Uncle Qrow quickly moved towards the guy's location and slammed his Scythe down on the scorpion dude's back, causing him to groan in pain as his Aura lit up and crackle violently.
Ruby gasped as the guy's tail quickly whipped around before stabbing itself into her uncle's stomach, the sharp point nearly poking out of his back, pushing him away as the guy tried to push himself upwards. She furrowed her brows in anger as she racked the bolt, chambered another shot, and quickly pulled the trigger to force the scorpion guy back onto the ground. The force of the bullet bouncing him off the tiled floor as his Aura began to die down…
Scorpion guy pushed himself up to his feet and snarled; he stared at Ruby before pointing at her with his claws. She quickly retracted her Scythe and gripped it tightly before using her Semblance to dash away, jumping from one rooftop to another before dropping to the ground next to her uncle, who's groaning in pain as he clutched his stomach. Scorpion dude jumped at her with his claws, Ruby held out her Scythe, ready to deflect the blow before her sister blasted herself towards the guy and punched him square in the jaw! Flinging him towards the ground and far away from her uncle.
"Fuck! FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!" scorpion dude thrashed around on the ground as team RNJRY grouped around uncle Qrow to keep him safe, "It wasn't supposed to be like this!" he quickly kicked himself up to his feet, stabilizing himself with his tail as he glared at Ruby, "Y- YOU!" brandishing his claws, he jumped at Ruby again… before a hailstorm of Dust bullets crashed into him from the side, the fire Dust sparking as it lit him up like a firework.
Scorpion guy scrambled on the ground as the bullets kept flying, Ruby heard the distinct sound of Aura shattering as a shot pierced through the stinger of his tail, causing him to curse and scream out in pain as he escaped the scene. Team RNJRY, and uncle Qrow, all turned their heads towards where the bullets were fired to see a heavily modified pickup truck with the Mistralian brand laid out on the front bumper driving towards them. The flatbed was converted into a turret as a White Fang member was sat on top.
As they get closer, Ruby saw the distinct logo of the White Fang painted on the side, the truck pulled over next to them. Revealing that not only was the flatbed converted into a turret, it was also turned into a personnel carrier as the tailgate flipped open and several White Fang members jumped out with their weapons, guns of all variety as some of them were pointed at team RNJRY and the others were scanning the area for possible threats.
Somebody then stepped out of the truck last, a young man with red-brown hair and a pair of bull horns held onto his katana as he looked over the group with a slight frown on his face, "I hope you people have a good explanation for this," the young man sneered, focusing on uncle Qrow specifically, "Bringing a group of kids out here? Tch, no wonder you got attacked."
Ruby turned to uncle Qrow to see that he had a surprised expression on his face, "Taurus? What?" he hissed, clutching his stomach tighter, Ruby quickly moved to his side, "Argh…"
"Jaune, heal him, quick!" Jaune nodded and moved to uncle Qrow's side, a light emanating off of his palms as uncle Qrow slowly calmed down, "What's going on?" Ruby asked the young White Fang member, seriously, he couldn't have been older than her sister! "What's- What's going to happen now?"
The White Fang guy smirked, "We'll drive you back to the city after we finish our patrols and mission," team RNJRY looked shocked at this, even uncle Qrow had his eyes wide open, "But don't try anything," the man unsheathed his katana to reveal a blood-red blade, he then pointed it towards the group, "You try to do something and I'll lob your head off personally, understood?" everyone nodded slowly, "Good, now get in the SR5."
The White Fang members quickly re-entered their vehicles while some crouched down to carry uncle Qrow in. The rest of team RNJRY were smooshed in next to the other White Fang strangers while uncle Qrow lay down in the middle. Ruby noticed that almost everybody in the vehicle had their weapons drawn, with a couple of them being pointed at uncle Qrow while the rest had the barrel being suspiciously placed close to where they're sitting.
The ride was uncomfortable as the truck rumbled lightly while it drove through the Mistrali forests, "We're going to stop by Kuroyuri for a moment," Ruby noticed Ren stiffening at the mention, "We'll be joined up by another White Fang SR5, taking out that Nuckelavee will do good for the region… and for the White Fang's reputation as well."
"Then why are you bringing us with you?" Yang asked, crossing her arms, "Why not just drop us off in the city before going off to do your mission of yours?" Ren turned to Yang and shook his head.
"No, no, I- I think we should do this," Nora looked surprised at this, placing a hand on Ren's shoulder as he sighed, "It's- I think it's about time that… thing gets what's coming for it."
"Ren…" Nora furrowed her brows. He just smiled, although it looked like a weak one.
"Mm, the name's Taurus, Adam Taurus," the White Fang guy, Adam, introduced himself as he leaned back on his seat, the truck rumbling slightly as it drove through the dirt towards this 'Kuroyuri' that he mentioned, probably another village like Oniyuri… "Don't remember it."
Ruby tilted her head, "Why?"
Taurus just glared back at her, causing her to shrink back in her seat, "Hey! She asked a question!" her sister came to her rescue, "Who do you think you are? Some kind of cool action hero? 'Don't remember it' wow! So cliché." She mimicked his voice; Taurus just sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose as he leaned back deeper into his seat.
"Just- nevermind."
"Ruby…" uncle Qrow groaned from his position, "Gods that still hurts, we'll… we'll talk later… agh…"
"Okay…?"
Ruby sighed, nothing was going to plan! She had expected the occasional Grimm here and there, not an assassin coming after her specifically! Gosh! She wished Blake and Weiss were here, they'd know what to do! But Weiss was whisked away by her family while Blake did the same but on purpose this time! After they repelled the Grimm invasion in Vale, Blake just said that she had to go back to Menagerie for some reason, heh, probably because she misses her family! Ruby knows she's a big softie on the inside! Despite acting all mysterious and spooky before…
"Sir! We've spotted the Nuckelavee!" a White Fang goon said from his perch on the turret, Ruby always wanted to try a turret out! Imagine… just imagine… firing fifty calibre bullets at an automatic rate! Ren did look pretty strange though; he looked a lot more serious now, more determined, "It's just kinda… standing there? It's at the centre of the village!"
Taurus nodded, "Alright," he turned to team RNJRY, "You five are going to help me kill this thing," the truck stopped as he kicked the tailgate open, everybody in the truck all poured out, Taurus turned to the rest of the White Fang members, "People without Aura, stay behind and provide covering fire. Don't get too close and get yourself killed got it?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Good," Taurus turned back to the team, motioning with a jerk of his head towards the Nuckelavee's still form at the centre of the village, "You, humans, follow me. We're gonna put this thing down for good." He drew his red blade, so did everybody in the team. Ruby racked the bolt back and chambered another round… man, she's going to need an icepack after this.
"You alright Rubes?" Yang asked her worriedly, she smiled and nodded, "Cool, cool, cool, 'cause I see you rubbing your shoulder like constantly, what's up with that?"
"Oh, haha, it's just uh…" shoot! What should she say? "Ah- nevermind, I'll uh… haha, tell you later…?" Yang didn't look convinced, "I swear!" her sister sighed.
"We're getting closer," Taurus raised a hand to stop everyone from advancing, "I'll aim for the legs, you five go for the head and arms," Taurus grabbed the hilt of his katana and sheathed the blade before crouching down. Suddenly, in a burst of speed, he dashed forwards and drew his blade, cutting off two of the Nuckelavee's legs and forcing it to the ground, "NOW!"
Nora jumped forwards with her hammer faster than anyone can react. Her face now that of complete anger and seriousness as opposed to the cheery personality from before, she yelled out as the hammer swung down, cracking the Nuckelavee's mask and breaking off one of its horns as it screeched out in pain, "Nora!" Ren yelled out as he unloaded into the Grimm's upper torso, causing it to raise its arms futilely as it groaned and screeched, the sound was… very unpleasant.
The Grimm lashed out with its extendable arms as it tried to swat away the team, Ren and Nora ran around the thing while Ruby, Yang, and Jaune used their weapons to deflect and wound its arms while it tried to attack. Jaune ducked under a swipe before lobbing off two of its fingers, causing it to retract one of its arms in pain. A few loud shots echoed out from the distance as a small barrage of bullets slammed into the Nuckelavee's upper half, it retracted both of its arms this time as it tried to block the storm of fifty cal shots flying towards it, so cool!
Ruby jumped back and quickly swapped out the specialized rounds for her standard Dust rounds, she fired a few shots at the Grimm's head, as its lower legs began to thrash about violently, the recoil was much more manageable this time around, and no more bruises on her shoulders! Yay! Nora slammed her hammer down on the Grimm's face before pulling the trigger, shooting a grenade directly into its eye socket, exploding its head as it reeled back in pain. Nora used the blast to jump back, standing next to Ren with her hammer primed at the ready.
Taurus ran in and cut off the remaining two legs before jumping up and severing one of its arms, Ruby jumped at the Grimm with her Scythe, feeling the blade cut through its lower abdomen like butter while her sister punched its head the other way. The human half of the Nuckelavee was severed and was wailing loudly as it violently jerked about. Ruby jumped back as Nora slammed her hammer down on its head, silencing the thing completely.
Jaune quickly ran up and, with the help of Ren's StormFlower's blades and a strange knife that Ruby hadn't seen him use before, decapitated its bottom horse half. Ending the Grimm's reign of terror for good.
Hmm, for such a terrifying Grimm, it sure did drop dead pretty quickly! "Thanks Taurus! You really helped with cutting off its legs!" Ruby gave the man a thumbs up; he just sheathed his katana and sighed before walking back to the truck.
Ruby turned to Ren to see him on his knees while Nora comforted him, "We did it," he breathed, staring at the Grimm's disintegrating body, "We- haha, we did it!" he jumped up and hugged Nora, she hugged back, although much tighter from what Ruby's seeing, Ren didn't seem to be bothered though.
"I- I never thought-" he sniffed, wiping his eyes, "I- We did it… we did it!"
Nora was openly crying though, unlike Ren, she squeezed him harder. Jaune walked to them and patted the both of them on their backs, "Let's go! Onwards to Mistral!" Ruby exclaimed as she quickly sped off towards the truck, her sister Yang running close behind while Jaune, Ren, and Nora followed closely.
Uncle Qrow was seated on one of the seats, he smiled as the five re-entered the vehicle, "Killed the Nuckelavee did you? Good job guys," he chuckled before groaning and clutching his stomach, "Argh… damn that hurts…" Taurus climbed back on board, closing the tailgate as the trucks started moving again, "Why're you doing this by the way?" her uncle asked, raising one of his eyebrows, "Last time I checked, White Fang don't help humans. Especially you of all people, Adam Taurus."
Taurus stared at him blankly, "I had a change of heart," her uncle didn't look convinced, "Helping humans would aid the White Fang tremendously," Ruby watched as Adam took out a packet of… candy? He popped one out and swallowed it whole, her uncle looked surprised at this, "This way, our reputation grows while the bigots have no choice to accept that they've been saved by a Faunus. It really makes them think hard about everything."
He then smirked, looking down at his palms after he pocketed the packet of 'candy', "After all, the worse thing a racist can experience is being saved by said race."
Adam Taurus is back, and significantly less racist than usual! Wow! Character development!
The Nuckelavee died a lot faster this time, since Adam was there to save the day with his epic sword skills.
The truck that the White Fang are using is a Toyota SR5 1983, no Tacomas because those things are too expensive for the White Fang to use. It's better to buy three pickup trucks that you can modify rather than just one that's a little bit better when used stock.
