Chapter 1: The Nature of Change.
Disclaimer: I don't own TFP or any of its characters. I figured my first story could allow the main cast of human characters to be given powers. (A what if Team Prime never arrived at Earth, so Primus gave their human allies powers) (Includes BIO's) (Semi - Crack Fic)
The mild breeze rolled across the warm summer's night, with the thick clouds concealing the moon's presence. Unseen by the town of Jasper, Nevada, the scattered streetlights remained the only source to illuminate its desolate roadways. Despite the ominous weather, it was simply routine for this region, as the town remained virtually unbothered by the restless world around it.
However, the thick clouds helped conceal things from prying eyes, especially as a KC - 46 A Boeing transport flew above, thousands of feet in the air. Despite the militaristic role that this vehicle was meant to fulfill, the contents of the plane were oddly empty.
Descending below the swarm of clouds, the aircraft closed in on a nearby mountain. When the vessel was detected on radar, a runway strip for the vehicle quickly revealed itself at the mountain's base, lights illuminating a clear path to land upon.
Eventually, the wheels of the plane touched down upon the runway, before entering the connecting hangar bay. However, once the plane had made its full stop, something unusual started to happen to the body of the aircraft.
Three black lines suddenly appeared on the plane's exterior, evenly separating the craft into modules. While this occurred, the gray of each module suddenly shifted into far brighter colors than expected. As the nose of the plane turned Teal with yellow accents, the midsection and wings turned blue with red accents and the plane's tail turned light violet with purple accents.
Suddenly, the plane finally broke apart into 3 pieces, with the components of each section reshaping and folding into robotic humanoid forms. As soon as the transformation commenced, it was over, with three unique femmes having replaced the plane.
Despite their appearances resembling ordinary Cybertronians, these individuals were far from ordinary. In fact, these femmes were a part of a 6 - person team, referred to as the 'Adaptors'.
The 'Adaptors' were techno - organic hybrids, initially humans bestowed powers by the Cybertronian God, Primus. Serving as valiant Autobots, their role would involve protecting the Earth against the overwhelming numbers of Deceptions.
Regardless of their positive intentions, Primus made it clear that their identities were to not be revealed, lest Deception intelligence adapt accordingly to their new enemies.
To ensure that the Adaptors would hold distinct advantages, they were gifted with the ability to turning into whatever forms they thought of, involving vehicles, Cybertronians, objects, animals and people.
ATHENA
The first femme had an elegant build, standing. Her arms and legs were colored in pure silver, with her armor painted a cyan green with yellow tints. Atop her head lay a unique headpiece, 2 yellow curves that uniting at her forehead. Her wheels could be found near her heels and hands, with a pair of retractable wings tucked in her back. Finally, a pair of wide car doors could be seen jutting out her shoulders.
Under the name of 'Athena', this femme was the leader of the Adaptors. Throughout her 20 years of being an Adaptor, she was the team's master of infiltration and disguise.
Being proficient in these sorts of skillsets, Athena preferred vehicles such as the sleek Chevrolet Corvette, the speedy McLaren 650S, Porsche Cayman GT4, the stylish Lamborghini Aventador SV, Acura NSX and the agile F - 22 Raptor.
While Athena had her favorite vehicle forms that she would use for transportation, she wasn't against trying out other vehicular forms. Wether they be for disguise or combat applications, what mattered most was that these forms would benefit the team in some capacity.
Being able to perfectly mimic any vehicle or piece of technology had its perks, but vehicles of larger proportions often took time. Fortunately, the Adaptors could combine with one another to absolve this complication.
Transformative abilities or not, Athena was still determined to lead her fellow Adaptors into battle with her chosen vehicle forms. Speaking of battle, Athena sported the Neutron Assault Rifle in many situations. This weapon was rather suitable at mid-range for delivering salvos of Energon.
Despite her combat proficiencies with their Neutron Assault Rifle, Athena made her value to the team as primarily an infiltration. To achieve this, she, like the other Adaptors, could perfectly mimic the looks, abilities, vehicle forms, voice, personality and memories of other Cybertronians while as Athena.
If the situation called for a maximum priority on stealth, Athena could instantly transform into her human persona of June Darby, mother of Jack Darby at her leisure.
Fortunately, Primus had granted a wide slew of abilities that the Adaptors could use in their human forms, with June proving to be a rather quicker study than the rest of her team.
Utilizing her powers for both her and her team's benefit, her enjoyment to change forms also changed her personality to become more teasing and mischievous.
Personality changes aside, her typical methods of concealment while in human form involved blending with the walls, using her liquid metal to mimic its color and texture.
However, her human abilities would be applied differently beyond the confines of their headquarters.
For starters, June and her fellow Adaptors could turn invisible regardless of their forms and perfectly mimic the appearance, clothes, personality and memories of whoever she desired.
If more hands were needed while in her liquid metal form, she could also create drones, extensions of her will that held all of her human form abilities.
While such powers would terrify many humans and alarm others, Primus gave the Adaptors one final ability: To erase and alter memories, protecting their identities from prying eyes.
AURORA
As for the femme on Athena's left, she was known as Aurora, the team's second - in command. This femme was simply known on her team as a master of reconnaissance in her 20 years of becoming an Adaptor.
Bearing a similar height to her team leader, her difference in body came in the form of a slightly wider body frame, courtesy of her reinforced armor plating. With her arms and legs painted gray, she bore dark blue armor, styled with light red predominantly lining her arms and chest plate.
Most importantly, adorning the back of her body were several thin black blades, symmetrically arranged to symbolize her preferred method of transportation. In addition, 4 tires could also be found jutting out of the Femmes back, useful when relying upon more subtle vehicle forms.
However, if the mission ahead didn't require such subtlety, Aurora liked to assume aerial modes such as the AH - 64 Apache Helicopter, the supportive Ch - 47 Chinook, A - 10 Warthog or the B-2 Spirit Bomber.
Despite the femme's bias towards Airbourne forms, Aurora had a soft spot for the Bugatti Cheron and Ferrari 458 Italia. She would make use of these land - vehicle forms whenever she needed to clear her processor.
If a bit more stealth was necessary than her larger Cybertronian physique, she could instantly transform into her human persona of Rosa Esquivel, mother of Rafael Esquivel at her leisure.
Donning the same powers in her human form as the rest of her fellow Adaptors, she proved herself to be equally adept towards utilizing its near limitless applications. Such applications involved using her liquid metal form for mimicking household furniture such as couches, desks or tables.
Funnily enough, her fellow Adaptors would sometimes put objects on top of her by mistake, much to her amusement.
When Rosa was out in public, she never assumed her default human form, even if she was invisible. Being an Adaptor meant that she could change her body through liquid metal in seemingly limitless ways, so she never assumed the same human form twice.
Often radically changing her humanoid anatomy, clothing and accessories to help her blend in, the combination of that and invisibility helped her when she needed to erase memories or obtain vital intelligence for her team.
Additionally, Rosa also used her liquid metal form to pose as animals while in the forests, something that she normally did by herself.
Regardless of her appearance, Rosa was quite a doting and protective figure. She made it her personal mission to ensure the safety of her team wherever they traveled. While in their mountainous headquarters, she usually cooked dinner for the team, clearly happy to spend quality time with her fellow Adaptors in such a light atmosphere.
ARTEMIS
For the femme on Athena's right, she was known as Artemis, the team's third - in command. Her proficiency was being a master sharpshooter in her 20 years of becoming an Adaptor, something the femme had prided herself on.
Contrasting the similar sizes of her teammates, the femme was the smallest of the three, only just a bit taller than TFP's rendition of Arcee.
However, such size impediments never stopped Artemis in battle, for she possessed a far greater degree of agility and speed than most other Cybertronians.
Artemis's form typically involved her arms and legs painted a near jet - black, yet her armor was light violet with purple accents that could be found on her arms and legs.
Unlike the adaptors beside her, one tire could be found jutting out of her back, with the other two thin tires being retracted inside of her legs and deployed from her feet, which she sometimes used instead of walking around. In addition, a pair of thin purple wings were folded on her back.
Begin accustomed to both her smaller size and Athena's teasing's, Artemis decided to take advantage of her statue by choosing vehicle forms that suited her best.
To achieve her best combat efficiency Artemis would utilize vehicle modes such as the nimble Vitacci GTX 250, Suzuki GSX-S750 or for a bit of extra speed, the Kawasaki ZX-6R or Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4.
As for her Airbourne vehicular forms that were sparingly used, she would take upon the SR - 71 Blackbird or the F - 15 eagle for great bursts of speed, enjoying the wind rushing by her form.
Maintaining speed as her ally, Artemis made effective use of the Nucleon Charge Rifle, a high velocity weapon that when paired with her strategy of changing her armor's texture to remain invisible as she picked off her enemies from afar.
However, if the mission did require a form in a more confided location, Artemis could instantly transform into her human persona of Sofia Nakadai, mother of Miko Nakadai at her leisure.
Being a proud Adaptor, she also had a more reserved side of herself. This side often enjoyed mimicking other voices and humanoid appearances for her own personal amusement.
Concealing this side of herself well, the mask she wore helped her encourage the continued training and use of her fellow Adaptor's powers in their lives.
Whether they be practices on disguises, infiltration, driving or sparring, she made herself out to be a comforting and reliable instructor for her fellow Adaptors.
Fortunately, it was only when she was outside the confines of her base where Sofia's mask would come off, enabling her to enjoy her liquid metal powers to the fullest.
She often enjoyed blending into her environment as everyday objects, helping her to be virtually unnoticeable while in a Human or Cybertronian environment. Through her abilities, their texture, function and appearance would be completely identical.
However, Sofia was the least likely to assume another alternate humanoid form unless the situation absolutely called for it. When it came to tracking down people and erasing their memories, she had a fun way to accomplish this.
Using her impeccable disguises, she would take on the form of one of her victim's possessions or through her liquid metal, perfectly mimic the ones that they frequently talked to, drawing them in as she did her work.
As the heels of each femme clicked throughout the hangar bay, they gossiped with one another about the success of their most recent mission. While they reveled in their perfect mimicry and praised one another's abilities, they weren't against teasing one another for the fun of it.
"You know 'Thena, I've never actually seen you turn into a motorcycle before, I would have thought you'd have just turned invisible then." Aurora mused, remembering a cyan-green and yellow cycle zipping through the Energon Mines to evade enemy fire.
Despite Aurora trying to recount their recent mission, a loud voice to the left of Athena interrupted her recollection.
" 'Thena! Don't go stealing my thunder all of a sudden." Artemis jokingly complained to her team leader. "You know those motorcycle forms are my most combat proficient modes!"
"Well Artemis, it's certainly not my fault that your taste in vehicle forms is so elegant… just like your transformations." Athena's faceplate sporting a grin as Artemis blushed.
Deciding to tease the Adaptor on her right, Athena asked: "Besides 'Rora, didn't you once turn into a forklift to get near that shipping depot to retrieve some Energon crates?"
"Hmph, please don't remind me 'Thena." Aurora cutely pouted as she crossed her arms. "Even if it was 10 years ago, I'd rather not change into that form ever again."
Noticing Aurora's frustrations, Athena was quick to comfort her fellow Adaptor.
" 'Rora, if it makes you feel better, I've found a few Ferraris that you and I could try out together?" Athena said softly. "Besides, I've been looking forward to seeing how fast you can go on an empty road."
This seemed to bring up Aurora's mood, as her smile quickly returned to her faceplate.
"Also, I've got to congratulate you on finding those Energon mines during our trip!" Athena remarked, a mischievous smile forming on her lips. "Although, we should really try combining into more plane forms next time, that KC - 46 felt great to turn into!
Aurora and Artemis nodded at their leader's statement, warmly recalling how they frequently mimicked the voices of miner drones for their amusement.
FLASHBACK
After the three Adaptors secured the Energon mines, they quickly transformed into their McLaren 650S, Ferrari 458 Italia and Kawasaki ZX-6R forms, turning invisible as they took their leisurely drive back to base.
However, Artemis soon suggested to her fellow Adaptors they unite into an airborne vehicle in order to get home faster. After agreeing to the femme's plan, Artemis took the rear, while Aurora and Athena drove up ahead.
In unity, the team gracefully combined into one another.
First, Athena's frontal section expanded, widening as her frame shifted outwards, then curving inwards to resemble the plane's nose, with her wheels moving from her arms and legs to her midsection to become landing gear. Meanwhile, her vehicle's midsection thinned and expanded outwards, curving inwards to eventually form the first part of the plane's roof. As for her rear section, it split apart to interlock with Aurora's frontal section, while cyan - green and yellow colors turned silver and gray.
Second, after Aurora merged her vehicle form's frontal section with the back of Athena's vehicle form, she copied her team leader, with her chassi expanding and curved upwards, completing the midsection of the plane's body and roof. As this happened, her arms expanded where her car doors were, turning into the plane's engines while her own blades fused into the plane's wings. Her wheels also moved from her back to her arms, completing the landing gear. As for the back of Aurora's vehicle form, like Athena, it expanded to interlock with Artemis's frontal section, her dark blue armor with red accents also turning silver and gray.
Finally, Artemis's motorcycle form's front split apart, interconnecting with Aurora's back section. While her legs curved inwards and its armor quickly curved and spread outwards, her wings moved to what her legs had become, completing the tail of the craft. As for her colors, they quickly went from light violet with purple accents to silver and gray.
After only 4 seconds, a KC - 46 replaced the 3 different vehicles, all while they maintained their invisibility. Taking off from the road, they silently flew back to home base.
While all three femmes' back at base sighed in relief, grateful that everything went flawlessly, one voice decided to state her opinion.
"Fortunately, we've always been able to work together for these transformations." Aurora smugly stated. "I'm sure we could do it if the situation calls for it."
As the trio of Adaptors finally made their way across the hangar, Athena, Aurora and Artemis shifted back to their human forms of June, Rosa and Sofia.
With the trio descending down the elevator to one of the training rooms, they saw that the other three Adaptors were nowhere in sight.
Instead, what they saw bore a striking resemblance to a reception area, complete with a desk, computer and printer. To the untrained eye, this would seem like just parts of a standard office. However, June, Rosa and Sofia knew that this office was far from ordinary.
Despite knowing what was actually going on, they decided to have some fun, performing a partial shift of their eyes into optics. After this happened it revealed that the human forms of the other three Adaptors were actually disguised as office objects.
"Alright you three, I think training time is over, now that we're back home!" June wryly smiled at the objects in front of her.
Upon giving the order, the colors of the objects turned a metallic silver.
Melting and reforming itself, the printer turned into a tall humanoid form, before the liquid metal changed colors, revealing itself to be Jack Darby.
As for the computer melting, it assumed a shorter humanoid form, before revealing itself to be Rafael Esquivel.
Finally, the desk collapsed into itself, before taking up a thinner, more feminine build with a similar height to Jack. After its colors changed, it revealed itself to be Miko Nakadai.
"Hey mom, how'd your mission in Arizona go?" Jack nervously asked.
Smiling warmly at her son's concern, she responded: "Don't worry, I'm fine, we all are. We just took a little longer to liberate the mine because we were having so much fun!"
"Why am I not surprised? She does this quite a lot." Jack mentally sighed before Miko interrupted.
"Well, while you, Rosa and Mom were gone, Jack, Raf and I figured we'd use the downtime to practice." Miko said, before shifting her vocal cords to perfectly mimic June's voice. "Miko, everything is going to go smoothly, there's nothing you need to worry about!"
Growingly flustered as Miko perfectly mimicked her voice, June quickly responded with a tease of her own, shifting her vocal cords to perfectly mimic Miko's voice: "Alright Miko, you were right, things didn't go as smoothly as I thought."
It was now Miko's turn to blush, as her own voice was perfectly mimicked by her team leader as she awaited another expected statement.
"And… you, Jack and Raf can come along with us on the next mission." June said softly, her voice returning to her own.
"Finally, a chance to stretch my own servos and wheels on the road!" Miko excitedly thought in anticipation.
Before Miko could give her thanks, Raf decided to raise his two cents about the mission.
"Hey, don't you find it weird that the Cons haven't been that busy this week?" Raf mused. "They've only been hitting Energon mines, is it possible that they're starting to run low on Energon?"
"Doubt it, they've hit a good portion of the Energon mines in the US, so they've clearly stockpiled quite a lot." Sofia responded.
"Maybe they're just making some more land grabs to set up outposts?" Jack responded. "We have seen them on our flights, so it wouldn't be surprising if they were increasing their efforts."
Acknowledging the possibility presented by her son, June was also curious to the plans of the deceptions: "Maybe, maybe not. I wonder what they could be hunting next?"
"Relic's perhaps?" Rosa suggested. "We know that they dug something out of the Arctic recently, we just don't know what they took."
"Yeah, I definitely don't like the sound of that. Even a single relic in deception hands could cause insurmountable damage." June worryingly stated.
Deciding to change the topic to something more positive, Miko put forward a suggestion for an activity tonight.
"You know, now that you're done with your Energon Mine mission, could Jack, Raf and I go on patrol for tonight?" Miko hopefully suggested to her mother.
"Of course, dear. But I'm assuming that you do know what to do if you're seen by humans, right?" Sofia firmly stated.
"Yeah, yeah, turn invisible, disguise ourselves and erase their memories." Miko deadpanned, rolling her eyes at her mother. "Mom, We've been doing this for 20 years, we're not rookies!"
Ignoring her daughter's comment, Sofia moved to soothe her frustrations.
"I know, it's my job as a mother to keep you safe. Promise me that, ok?" Sofia asked.
"Yes Mom, I promise that we'll be okay and that we'll return as soon as our patrol is done."
"Good luck!" June and Rosa warmly shouted as Jack, Raf and Miko left the training room.
As the three Adaptors made their way to the hangar bay, they immediately shifted from their human forms into their Cybertronian forms, ready to embark on their routine patrol.
ULTIMUS
Jack's Cybertronian form had him standing only slightly taller than his mother's Cybertronian form, bearing a formidable and imposing build that was designed for combat.
With his arms and legs painted gray, his armor would be a bright silver with sections of his armor painted gold with blue lines running down his limbs. As his wheels were in his hands and legs, his wings could also be retracted into a section of his back. His car doors were also folded downwards on his back, concealing his wings.
In this form, he was simply known as Ultimus, an expert in close - quarters combat after being an Adaptor for 20 years.
Suiting his close-range proficiency, the bot's typical weapons of choice were the scatter blaster, proving quite effective at breaking through Decepticon armor at close ranges.
With his preferred weapons, he would often charge the enemy, as to keep them on their pedes while his team helped assist him during combat with their long-ranged weaponry.
To help him cover such distances through his vehicle modes, Ultimus liked a healthy combination of both ground and air vehicles, enabling flexibility depending on the mission that he was in.
However, his most preferred methods of transportation were the reliable BMW M4 GTS, the speedy Mclaren 675LT, the graceful Audi r8 v10, Ferrari F12tdf or his airborne vehicle form of a Bell AH-1 Cobra or F/A-18F Super Hornet when needing greater firepower.
If necessary, he could always assume other smaller vehicle forms when in more populated regions.
In addition, such preferences in combat didn't just extend to his Cybertronian form. If more stealth was necessary while permitting the use of melee, Ultimus could still instantly transform back to his human persona to Jack Darby at his leisure.
In human form, Jack was just as adept in close quarters combat, instantly turning his arms into blades with his liquid metal to dispatch human adversaries while in an attempt to retrieve valued information or objects.
Although Jack didn't mind a good battle, he still admired his mother's skills in both disguise and infiltration. Learning directly from June, Jack would normally turn his body invisible or use his liquid metal form to assume other inanimate objects or blending into the walls to remain perfectly unseen.
However, it was more common to use his liquid metal form to mimic humanoid forms with those he had recently come into contact with, which he enjoyed quite immensely.
Funnily enough, during his last mission in a museum to retrieve a rare metal from Cybertron, he used his liquid form to shift himself into a variety of female blonde and brunette forms to avoid suspicion. This was much to Miko's amusement and promise that she would teach her fellow Adapter how to make use of such bodies.
Jack cared deeply for his teammates, enjoying their missions together and having fun using their powers in their everyday lives.
WINDBURST
Miko's Cybertronian form stood just as tall as her mother's Cybertronian form. However, while her arms and leg colors were light gray, her armor colors were Liliac with dark purple on the top of her chestplate, near her digits and pedes. She also had two sets of wings on each side, proudly jutting out from her back but could be folded back inside of her own chassi when working with more confined spaces. Her tires could be found near her pedes and in her back, with her car doors attached to the back near her neck, using land forms whenever she wanted to drive around in style.
Taking the name of Windburst, under the 20 years of being an Adaptor helped her earn a reputation of being a demolitions enthusiast, with her arsenal consisting of rocket launchers and concealed launchers within her shoulders.
Being a user of rocket-based weapons, she donned the combustive Thermo - Rocket - Launcher. Alternatively, she could be seen using a Chaos - Rift - Combustor for wider area impacts against several enemies.
In her team, she was known simply as the artillery, using intelligence gathered by Aurora to rain down deadly munitions upon fortified enemy positions. Such combined use of tactics made her quite the valued asset on the team.
With her personality being a demolitions enthusiast and frequently enjoying leveling enemy fortifications, her standard vehicle modes matched her style. While in combat, she would usually take the form of an A - 10 Thunderbolt II or the F - 117 stealth fighter.
Upon Windburst entering a land battle, she would take upon the form of the powerful M-1 Abrahms tank. However, when her missions involved more subtlety, she assumed the form of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the Mercedes-Benz S-Class to reach her destinations by land or for a fast getaway.
Unlike her fellow Adaptors, she would rarely stay in her base human or Cybertronian form. This was because Windburst was an avid fan of anime, so she would often use her liquid metal form to create drones of herself, so that she perfectly duplicated their appearances. However, she wasn't against using her liquid metal form for infiltration through humanoid forms that she would create or disguise herself as either through invisibility or as a piece of furniture when the situation required it.
Despite these constant changes, Windburst could still instantly transform back to her human persona to Miko Nakadai.
Regardless of how she acted, she typically prioritized the safety of her fellow Adaptors over herself, typically getting scorned by team leader Athena after they completed their mission.
GEARSHIFT
Raf's Cybertronian form stood only barely shorter than his mother's Cybertronian form. As his arm and leg colors were an abundantly dark gray, his armor colors bore a combination of black, orange and yellow, with the latter two colors expressing themselves most on the arms and upper chassi. In regards to his wheels, two could be found on his back while the other two remained by his pedes. Finally, his retractable wings and car doors could be folded atop one another, when they didn't need to expressively stand out.
Assuming the name of Gearshift, under the 20 years of being an Adaptor enabled him to be rather skilled at decriptions and hacking. With his onboard systems within his processor, he could easily decrypt complex digital security barriers of any system on the planet. This helped him extract information held by the humans while he remained disguised or invisible.
Such tools were useful when the media files held their images to erase them or getting by Deception digital security to gain intel on their next potential moves. With his mother Aurora, they made quite the recon team.
Being the team's skilled programmer and hacker, Gearshift assisted his team in combat beyond intel gathering. Sporting the V32. CYBR Corrupt r, he would turn Decepticon drones against one another, providing useful distractions while the team completed their main mission.
Working as an Adaptor to gather digital intelligence, he highly valued quiet vehicles for transportation. However, he wasn't above taking on more stylish appearances when in public or to clear his processor while on a drive / flight.
Gearshift's standard vehicle forms included the speedy Kawasaki Ninja 400 Motorcycle, the sleek Tesla Model S Plaid, Aston Martin Vulcan or the agile F - 35 Lightning II.
Being an Adaptor, Raf would normally use his liquid metal form to mimic other electronic devices, but he also didn't mind assuming other unique forms such as paintings or furniture usually for his entertainment or practice.
No matter what form he decided to occupy himself as, Gearshift could still instantly transform back to his human persona of Rafael Esquivel.
Raf was perhaps the most cautious and level headed member on the team. Being the voice of reason, he could deduce safe yet effective strategies to help his fellow Adaptors to overcome the Deceptions that had invaded Earth.
After shifting into their Cybertronian modes, the three each assumed one of their distinct vehicular forms. Ultimus collapsed into his Mclaren 675LT form, Windburst turned into her Mercedes-Benz S-Class form and Gearshift changed into his Aston Martin Vulcan form.
Starting up their engines, the three Adaptors drove out into the Nevada night, the plates of their vehicle modes turned invisible, concealing themselves from potentially prying eyes.
Fortunatley, their invisibility not only prevented the eyes of humans from seeing them, but also the scanners and optics of Cybertronians. The only way the Adaptors could be seen while invisible is by themselves.
With the three cars driving throughout the night, they didn't have to fear an attack on their base, as they knew it was well protected. Seeing that the base both was heavily shielded and secured by their motherly Adaptors, they decided to drive towards the outskirts of Jasper Nevada.
Since concerts and festivals were commonly held there, the three Adaptors had planned to attend a street race in their vehicular forms, having fun on the road competitively.
Deciding that it would be best to play by the rules as to avoid suspicion, Ultimus gave a reminder to his companions.
"Windburst, Gearshift, you both know the rules, we can't change alt modes mid - race." He firmly explained, "If you want a faster car to work with, I advise you to change now before we reach the town's outskirts."
"Figured you'd say something like that." Windburst deadpanned. "Don't worry Ultimus!"
After Windburst made her statement, her vehicle form's shape started to change, the length of her alt mode decreasing while her frontal section lowered slightly, headlights became more circular, grill shrinking and moving closer to the ground with the size of her wheels decreasing. As this happened, a spoiler formed from her vehicle's rear section and then expanded slightly outwards. Eventually, a Porsche 911 GT3 RS had replaced Windburst's prior vehicle form in only 2 seconds.
Satisfied with her change, she watched through her camera optics as Gearshift's vehicle form started to change. First, his spoiler receded back into the vehicle's chassis as his wheels slightly expanded. Then, his grill decreased to half its original size as his front window rapidly moved more towards his vehicle's front section, with two additional windows appearing as rear car doors. Eventually, a Tesla Model S Plaid had replaced Gearshift's prior vehicle form in just 2 seconds.
Completing their new transformations, both Adaptors sped up to catch Ultimus, de-cloaking themselves and slowing down to match the town's speed limits.
"Looking good Windburst, Gearshift, I've got a good feeling that the cars at tonight's race are nowhere near as good as your forms." Ultimus said.
Being Adaptors for 20 years, they had assumed countless vehicle forms, making them more skilled as drivers that any other human on the planet.
Finally, after weaving through the maze of Jasper's neighborhoods, the three Adaptors eventually reached the racing grounds on the outskirts of town.
Unfortunately, it would seem that Monday didn't provide much competition. As only 2 other drivers bothered to come to the races, they waited in their souped - up cars for a potential referee.
As the three vehicle modes of the Adaptors slowly made their way towards the starting line, Windburst noticed a lack of a referee and had a clever idea.
First, the femme recloaked her vehicle form to be invisible, before silently transforming back into her robot mode. Windburst then changed back into Miko, to which her entire body shimmered a metallic liquid, as Miko assumed her featureless liquid metal form. Then, after she melted into a puddle, she merged with the ground, perfectly mimicking its appearance as she moved towards the other 2 cars.
Upon reaching the cars, Miko modified the memories of both drivers to ignore all unusual sightings and to forget the entire night after the race.
When she ensured that their identities were concealed, she split off three parts of herself from her liquid metal form. These extensions of her will would act as drones, with two attaching underneath the human's cars while the other started to shape itself.
Seeing as these were parts of Miko, she could telepathically communicate with the drones and let them use the full extent of her liquid metal powers for combat or infiltration.
While the first drone was initially a silver puddle, it soon expanded in size and took on a feminine humanoid form. After it's outline shimmer, the drone changed both its skin color and clothes, as it resembled a young Caucasian girl, a brunette with long wavy hair. Sporting a referee's shirt and skirt, it grinned, before Miko telepathically gave it the instructions to act as the referee.
Seeing now that they had a referee to work with, (albeit as a liquid metal extension of Miko's body) Miko resumed her human form, before turning back into Windbust, which the femme then transformed silently back into her Porsche 911 GT3 RS vehicle form and de-cloaked herself.
As the three Adaptors parked at the starting line, the referee, made of Windburst's liquid metal, de-cloaked herself, moving in front of the cars, holding flags in her hands that were formed of liquid metal.
"Drivers, are you ready?" The referee asked in excitement, synthetic brown hair blowing in the wind.
The Adaptors and human drivers responded, revving up the engines of their vehicles.
"3, 2, 1… Race!" The referee drone shouted, as all 5 vehicles immediately tore away from the starting line onto the dirt pathway ahead.
Seeing that the cars had gone a considerable distance away from her, the referee brushed her hair back, adjusting her skirt before moving towards the racing bench. Upon reaching the bench, she melted into liquid metal and covered the bench, perfectly mimicking the texture and color until she could be reunited safely with Windburst.
Back during the height of the race, the three Adaptors were neck - in - neck, trying to outpace one another so that they could claim tonight's race's bragging rights.
As they accelerated, Gearshift made a mental note to himself: "Well, at least Ultimus was right, we're leaving the other drivers in the dust! Now it's just us three competing against one another, as always."
Adjusting gears, Gearshift kept pace with Ultimus as Windburst started to creep behind his vehicle form.
However, as the Adaptors raced through the barren streets, they soon noticed the squadron of purple craft that flew above them. Seemingly futuristic, they bore the Deception insignia, branded their malicious intentions.
As they accelerated in front of the trio through their jet modes, the 12 Vehicons then transformed, landing onto the dirt pathway with an audible thud. Donning their laser weapons, they pointed them at the vehicle forms of Ultimus and Gearshift.
While they were caught off - guard, the 20 years of experience held by the Adaptors helped them prevent potential stress and enabled them to formulate a battle plan against these Deceptions.
Ultimus and Gearshift's tires quickly came to a screeching halt, as Ultimus relayed his plans to his fellow Adaptors: "Windburst! I need you to make sure the other 2 humans aren't going this direction; we can't compromise our identities! Gearshift, scramble their communications with their warship, we don't want more company!"
As Ultimus and Gearshift's vehicle modes went invisible, they transformed to their robot modes, eluding the optics of their enemies. On the other hand, Windburst also turned her vehicle form invisible, before quickly speeding back to intercept the other 2 cars before they arrived onto the battlefield.
As the 2 Adaptors readied their weapons for battle, Gearshift asked Ultimus with a smirk on his faceplate: "It's been only a week since we've last fought any deceptions, ready to have some fun?"
"Sure, I can't let my gears and servos go rusty, can I?" Ultimus joked back.
"In that case, why don't we time how fast it takes each of us to bring down the Cons, you take 6, I take 6!" Gearshift said.
With their weapons primed and ready, the two Adaptors quickly rushed at their Decepticon adversaries.
WINDBURST'S ACTIONS
Meanwhile, Windburst was still invisibly driving towards the locations displayed by her two other drones. Realizing that they were still attached to the cars, the femme decided to pull over, knowing she had an opportunity to have some fun.
While still invisible, Windburst's vehicle form transformed back into her robot mode, which then shifted back into her human form of Miko. Moments after, Miko's clothes and skin turned a metallic silver as she shifted into her featureless liquid metal form. Melting her body, Miko de-cloaked so she could perfectly mimic the texture and color of the ground.
Once Miko was completely hidden through her liquid metal forms mimicry, she concentrated her mental link and gave the drones telepathic instructions.
"Alica, Emma, I need you both in human form for the next phase of my plan. Move to where you can see the drivers, but you must remain hidden!" Miko telepathically ordered.
"Yes mother" The drones telepathically responded.
Following Miko's commands, the small liquid drones that had attached themselves to the undersides of both vehicles moved to the rear of the vehicles while still invisible.
Afterwards, the small liquid metal puddles widened, and a unique humanoid form emerged out of each puddle.
The drone on the right changed her outline to be slightly smaller than Miko. With her metallic liquid soon resembling a now darker human skin tone, Alica formed black eyes and synthetic black hair that wrapped itself into a ponytail, complete with pink hair braids. Additionally, she also created a light green tank top with black shorts to complete her transformation.
Completing her form, Alica watched as her liquid metal sister Emma assumed her own humanoid form.
The drone on the left shifted her form's outline to be about equal to that of Alica. With her metallic liquid resembling a far lighter Caucasian skin tone, Emma's newly - formed eyes turning a bright blue with her synthetic brown wavy hair. To complete her look, she also formed a blue dress for herself.
With both Alica and Emma now in position with their appropriate forms, Emma signaled Miko for further instructions.
"Mother, we have assumed our human forms and are now in position, what are our orders?" Emma said.
"The drivers, modify their memories and get them home safe!" Miko responds.
Quickly obeying Miko's orders, Alica and Emma began to alter the memories of the drivers, so that they would forget the race, turn around and immediately drive home safely.
Noticing the drivers turning around through the telepathic link, Miko gave her drones their next orders.
"Thanks, now come back to my form so I can help Ultimus and Gearshift." Miko said, disengaging her telepathic link.
With the sisters now on their own, Alica and Emma melted their bodies compositions to liquid metal, before assuming the form of an eagle, soaring towards Miko's location.
Knowing that Alica and Emma would soon reunite with her, Miko telepathically called out to her first drone that she created as a referee, Rachel, who was still using her liquid metal form to mimic the steel bench.
"Rachel, your sisters have completed their mission. Please return back to me." Miko telepathically instructed.
Obeying Miko's commands, the bench's colors shimmered and a humanoid being of liquid metal emerged from the puddle, colors changing and clothes forming to the Caucasian referee that Miko had initially created.
With Rachel shifting her hair into pigtails and dyeing it black, she obeyed Miko's instructions, melting her liquid metal form into an eagle and rushed to rejoin Miko's liquid mass alongside her sisters.
As the three sisters in their eagle forms landed beside Miko's disguised form, their animal forms quickly melted into 3 silver liquid metal puddles, before Alica, Emma and Rachel each assumed their preferred humanoid forms.
"Mother, we have returned to you as we have instructed, do you still require our services?" Emma asked.
"No, now please recombine with me so that we can leave." Miko instructed.
With Alica, Emma and Rachel watching on in admiration of their Mother, a patch of the ground turned a metallic silver, revealing a puddle that was Miko's current form before a blob started to rapidly emerge. Taking on a feminine humanoid shape, Miko's liquid metal form remained featureless.
Such actions confused the sisters, who asked their mother what she wished to do next.
While Miko would normally return to her base human form at this point, she decided to have some fun with her drones.
After telepathically sending mental images of her desires, Alica, Emma and Rachel grinned. Miko wanted to test them, seeing if they could perfectly replicate her human features and clothes.
As the sisters melted into their liquid metal forms, they converged onto Miko's featureless liquid metal form, enveloping her whole body. First, her body's height rose to 5 '4 of a 15-year-old girl, as her skin changed color from a bright metallic silver to a lighter skin tone befitting her Japanese - American ethnicity.
While the lower part of her body was forming, her head underwent its changes. While the head of her liquid metal form was merely a smooth sphere of metallic liquid, black strands of hair appeared as they folded themselves into pigtails before the tips and a large wavy part of hair dangling to the left dyed pink.
As Miko's head was complete, greater details started to emerge, as her face turned from a smooth silver plate to a more Japanese - American look as a dainty nose, ears, and red lips appeared. As for her eyes and eyebrows, they transitioned from silver to a light brown.
With Miko's base human anatomy complete, liquid metal wrapped around her body as it would eventually shift into her preferred clothes.
First, her brown boots formed, gray padding first emerging underneath her feet. As the brown rubber moved up her legs, they ended at her knees, with 10 purple laces adorning each boot.
Her stockings then started to form, starting off as a dark purple that ended at her foot joints, they shifted into a dark blue at her knees, then changing back into purple as they reached her body's waist.
As for her undershirt, it was a simple pink color that wrapped firmly around her chest and stretched until it covered her shoulders with a thin, dark purple v - neck.
For her top, it initially started taking shape where her stockings met her waist, turning a jean blue as it stretched all the way up her slim body until it covered her breasts. Soon, a small green icon of a robot appeared in the center of her chest, only known to the rest of her team her status as an Adaptor.
Eventually, the colors shifted into a darker yellow as two thin straps wrapped themselves around Miko's shoulders, connecting to the back section of her top.
As for Miko's accessories, silver earrings formed on her ears while her left arm formed a small thin white and purple bracelet near her wrist. While these accessories formed out of liquid metal, a large yellow strap appearned, adorned a small fanny pack. Both the buckle of the sash and her earrings were made of her liquid metal, further symbolism for her favorite form.
With the body and clothes complete, Miko praised her drones before transforming into Windburst and assumed her Porsche 911 GT3 RS form. Driving down the lone night road, she turned invisible, hoping to join Ultimus and Gearshift in their fight.
BACK WITH ULTIMUS AND GEARSHIFT
Charging the Vehicon troopers, Ultimus used his scatter blaster to unleash bolts of Enegeron at 2 Vehicon's quickly dispatching their sparks. He then swiftly turned around before his other blaster fired at the heads of two other Deceptions that were nearby.
As for Gearshift, after dispatching 2 Vehicons with his primary weapon, he decided to participate in close - quarters combat. Disengaging his weapons, Gearshift rushed up close to the fifth and sixth Vehicons, the bot landed several blows onto the unsuspecting troopers which shattered their chest plate armor.
Deciding to have some more fun against the unsuspecting Deceptions, Ultimus turned back into Jack, as he assumed his liquid metal form, gaining a weary glance from Gearshift.
Changing his entire body into a massive eel-like creature, Jack wrapped his new liquid metal body around a poor Vehicon and crushed it to pieces. Viewing another, he rapidly shot towards the chest plate, turning his eel-like head into a pointy arrowhead, allowing him to penetrate through one side of the Vehicon and out of the other side.
Afterwards, his liquid metal body reformed into Jack Darby which then shifted back into his Cybertronian form of Ultimus, having noticed final 4 deceptions grouping up in a defensive stance.
Ultimus prepared to fire at them when a sudden round disintegrated 2 of the unfortunate Vehicons. Turning back, there was Windburst, still invisible, in her M-1 Abrahms tank form to provide supporting fire.
Having arrived on time to join her fellow Adaptors, Windburst happily remarked: "Glad to see you both didn't take them all down, this means I get to have some fun!"
As Windburst eagerly stated her intentions, she transformed into her base Cybertronian form. Then, after the femme's arms transformed into Thermo - Rocket - Launchers, fired a vicious salvo that finished off the final Vehicons.
With the battle complete, the three adaptors decloaked and surveyed the scene, with Windburst being the femme to first raise her opinion.
"You know Ultimus, that was a ton of fun, right?" Windburst said. "If this happened during just a race, I wonder what the next mission with our mothers will be like!"
However, Ultimus did not share the same cheerful sentiments as he responded: "Honestly, it was our fault for not being careful enough. Even though we managed to keep our existence a secret, we shouldn't attend events where we need to de - cloak ourselves."
After getting nods in agreement from both Adaptors, Ultimus transformed into his F/A-18F Super Hornet form, while Windburst assumed her F - 117 stealth fighter form. Finally, after Gearshift shifted into his F - 35 Lightning II mode, the three Adaptors resumed their invisibility before blasting off towards home base as daybreak started to appear.
