Chapter 1:

I try to hurry home on my motorcycle holding my arm close to my chest, I should have listened to Dr. Ozzy and not gone out today knowing I hadn't fully recovered from the last run out looking for my son because now I may not be able to go out for even longer due to the damage I've caused.

I can heal unnaturally fast due to the experiments the government did on me while they were creating this damned virus but even broken bones take a while when you haven't slept in days. I was part of an experiment Called "Operation D" the government was trying to find a way to create immortal humans so that when they unleashed the virus, they themselves and their families would be safe. It worked somewhat, too well in fact, I still can suffer from broken bones, cuts, and bruises but they heal really fast, I don't require sleep but it does help speed up the healing process, I don't get affected by the heat or cold, and unfortunately for them it also doubled my brain power.

They called me "The smartest" subject due to this, they found that the pill they created doubled the IQ and abilities Of whatever the subjects at at that time. It also did another amazing thing, it transformed my body, I aged backward from 36 to 25, the scientists said that was when I was at my peak strength, apparently the pill is able to detect when you were at your strongest, or when you will be and it ages/transforms you to be permanently stuck at that age.

Shortly after all of this happened, I broke out of there. I was able to get all of their notes on this drug along with notes on how they created the virus that is plaguing our world, in these notes I found where they had an enormous town that was built to withstand the outbreak, a town called "New Beginning" and everyone I rescued from the outbreak named me the president of the town. I love my people, and I feel Bad that I have to keep leaving but I need to find my son, I know they understand but I can't help but feel awful.

I'm drawn out of my thoughts when I near the gates and see a group of people arguing with my number one in command Tyler. I park my bike just inside the gates and approach, seeing this group of people have probably spent most of the outbreak on the road, they really looked rough. "Tyler what is going on here?" I ask narrowing my eyes at him "Thank God you're here ma'am! I keep trying to tell these bandits that we don't have room for anyone else and they won't take no for an answer!" Before I can answer a gruff looking man says "Were not bandits damn it! We have a little girl with us, please you have to make room." I look at the group and see a child that can be no more than a year old being held by who I assume is the father. "Tyler, how many times do I have to tell you that you are not in charge of this town, you are only in a position to advise me, and I told you before I left yesterday that if anyone comes to walk them into my house and have them wait for me! This group has children and could have very well had my son with them!" I start to raise my voice and move my arm to point at him but wince and place it back on my chest.

I scan the group, eyes landing on the gruff man once again who is staring at my arm. "It's not a bite, I fell off my bike and busted it, if that's what you're wondering. What are your names?" I direct the last part at the whole group. The man holding the girl steps forward and Tyler tries stepping in front of me but I push him back to his original spot. "My name is Rick, this is Michonne, Daryl, Merle, Carl, Carol, Glenn, Maggie, and this here is Judith." Rick points at each person and then slightly holds up the girl. So Daryl is the gruff man's name I think to myself.

"Well Tyler is right, we don't have any open houses at the moment as We are low on materials, but I have plenty of rooms in my home for just such a situation. If you'll please follow me." When I turn around to start walking Daryl speaks up. "Shouldn't you go get your arm wrapped if it's broken?" I laugh to myself. "I'll explain everything when we get to the house, I don't need to wrap it because in just a few hours the bones are going to start placing themselves correctly. Come on." I don't give them a chance to respond, I walk to my house and open the door waiting for them to enter.

When everyone is inside I get questioning looks. "I was part of an experiment that the government was conducting during their creating of this zombie virus. I was their one and only success story, before they could produce what they created in large quantities to save themselves, I broke out of the facility and stole all of their paperwork and found this town. And now I am trying to create the cure to this horrible outbreak." I turn around and look at the group.

"What are you?" Michonne asks. "I am an extremely intelligent immortal." "How can that be? Immortality is impossible." I sigh and explain everything that had happened to me in the five years I spent in captivity, along with everything that was done to make me an immortal.

"So what you're saying is that you can create more of these pills? Make everyone immortal? Wouldn't that solve the outbreak?" Rick asks. "I can, and it would, but there are many problems with this. I can no longer create children due to the stasis my body is in, and in reality if I were to give everyone the pill we would eventually kill this planet. More people are evil than good, eventually nuclear fallout would happen, and who wants to live in a barren Waste land? Constantly regenerating and decaying from radiation poisoning. It would be an eternity of hell. Plus no one in this town aside from Tyler want the pill, and I do not trust him enough to give him one."

"If you don't trust him then why is he your lap dog girly?" Merle asks with a smirk. "So I can keep an eye on him. He thinks he's in charge but Dr. Ozzy has way more clearance than he does. But I am sure when I find the right people to help me rebuild the world I will give them the pill." I wince as my bones in my arm Crack. "Woah! That's cool as hell!" Glenn says. "Anything but cool, it's extremely painful." I say as I wince again when the last bone replaces itself.

"So if you're immortal why do you still get hurt?" Carl asks with a childlike curiosity. "Well, immortality is not the same as indestructible. I still can get hurt, my body just regenerates and heals itself at an accelerated rate to keep me alive." "oh." Rick hands his daughter off to Daryl and walks towards me. "Are you close to developing a cure?" He asks in a low tone. "Unfortunately not, all the notes from the lab have been no help. It's like they wanted to wipe out anyone who wasn't apart of the bigger plan. The closest I have gotten is developing a shot that stops the dead from rising, but when tested on a living subject, it turns them into even stronger monsters after they die. The injection only works on the already dead."

The group looks down in dejection. "I'm sorry I don't have more answers for you, my hope is to eventually find the cure, but it is going to take a very very long time." Rick speaks up again, "Well if you decide to let us stay we would be more than happy to help as much as possible, you know, pull our weight and stuff." I smile as I turn to look at the group. "That would be very much appreciated, thank you. Come on let me show you guys your new rooms, and maybe get you guys a hot shower and nice meal in." At the mention of a hot shower all the faces of this group looked up and they all had ear-to-ear grins.
