Staggering with bloodied feet the demon girl is struggling to stay conscious. She has been walking nonstop for weeks only stopping to drink water from the river and snack on random berries she walked past, she hasn't had a decent night's sleep or even a proper meal. She hears noises in the distance and hides in a bush, she hears what sounds like a man talking to a group of women.

Sylvie: I'm telling you for the last time Rose, stop holding on to Jake so much.

Rose: I can't help it, he's so cute.

Sylvie: You've gotta be fair and let the rest of us hold him too.

Rose: It's so hard to let go.

Jacob: Rose you need to share otherwise I won't let you cuddle me tonight.

Rose: No, don't threaten me like that.

Phoebe: I wouldn't say it's a threat, more like an ultimatum.

Rose: That's no better.

Roxy: Come on Rose you'll be fine for a few hours.

Rose: That's so long though, oh fine.

Rose lets Jacob go and pouts as Sylvie runs up and holds Jacobs arm, partly to make Rose upset and partly because she wanted time with Jacob, Rose sticks her tongue out at Sylvie.

Ale: What's with those two?
Inki: I'm not sure.

Phoebe: Regular elves and dark elves don't normally have a good relationship, I'm surprised these two are as friendly as they are.

Roxy: I wouldn't say they are friendly.

Phoebe: Oh dear Roxy they seem to be best friends.

Roxy: How so.

Phoebe: Just look, they don't have an ounce of hatred, just jealousy and a want to have more of Jake's attention.

Upon further inspection Roxy smiles seeing what Phoebe means. There's a playful banter being spouted between Sylvie and Rose about Jacob who was also laughing. They decide to take a break in the woods not far from Solaris. While they unpack their gear and start a fire to cook dinner the demon girl slowly crawls up to them curious. She hasn't seen a person at all since she escaped the demon country; she's also too scared to interact with anyone since she was tortured and experimented on. She does however love the warmth of the fire even though she can barely feel it from the tree she is hiding behind. She falls asleep to the crackle of the fire, after what feels like only a moment she smells something delicious and looks by her arm to see a grilled fish. Confused as to where it came from she is initially hesitant not wanting to be poisoned, she does hear Jacob shouting about how delicious the fish is.

Jacob: Wow what ingredients did you put on this Roxy?

Roxy: Uh, just the regular salt and pepper, with a little bit of basil.

Jacob: It's so good Roxy.

Roxy: I mean, thank you but it's not that different from the other fish we've grilled.

The demon girl thinks that for some reason that Jacob is yelling like that to inform her that the food is safe to eat, she decides to trust his word and eat it, finding it to be the most delicious food she's ever eaten. She cleans it off its bones without leaving a bit of meat on it, she feels a little bit satisfied, not weak or faint like before, she's still hungry but is grateful at the food she was given. She falls asleep exhausted.

Above Rugar is smiling seeing Jacob and the girls.

Rugar: I finally found you.

His excitement is almost uncontainable, he starts laughing so loud the animals in the forest run as fast as they can to escape him. Jacob and the girls shoot up after hearing his laugh, while the demon girl shakes with fear. She starts crying and holding her hands to her ears not wanting him to find her and wishing he'd go away. Jacob gets into a fighting stance when he senses immediate danger.

Jacob: GIRLS GET DOWN NOW!

For a split second the girls pause before doing what he says and drop to brace for impact. In almost a moment a concussion can be felt through their bodies and they are pushed away from the shock. Once they've collected their bearings they look to see Jacob with his fist outstretched colliding with Rugars who is floating above him. The impact of their punches made a crater under Jacobs feet.

Rugar: You are indeed strong, I like that.

Jacob: Who the hell are you?

Rugar: I'm the one who will destroy you.

Jacob: Dumb name.

Rugar: You're cheeky, I hope you keep that up until you die.

They jump back from one another before throwing another punch at each other colliding again with the other's fist, once again making a crater. Jacob notices that the girls are in the crosshairs and decides he needs to take this fight away from them. He proceeds to run across the river and instigate Rugar to come join him.

Jacob: Sorry it's a little cramped over there, wanna dance over here where there's room?

Rugar: Alright I'll play.

Rugar flies over to Jacob as fast as a bullet and punches Jacob in the face sending him flying.

Phoebe: JAKE!

Rugar: You weren't paying attention hero, now I know that didn't kill you, so how about you come out so we can continue this.

Jacob shot back so fast Rugar almost didn't have time to react. Jacob's fist made contact with Rugars hand just shy of missing his chest, the impact did leave Rugar short of breath.

Rugar: Now that's more like it, that fire in your heart is still raging. Keep showing me the power you used to kill Bazrik.

Jacob: Wha, Bazrik?

Rugar: Don't pretend you don't remember, he was my subordinate who was sent to kill you not too long ago.

Jacob: Wait, are you talking about that mummy?
Rugar: His face was bandaged, yes.

Jacob: Makes sense I didn't remember him since he never told me his name anytime we fought.

Rugar: It doesn't matter to me, I just want to see the power you used against him.

Jacob: Fine, don't regret anything when you die.

Rugar proceeds to grin a devilish smile as Jacob jumps back and powers up a massive attack.

The devil girl looks on, amazed at the power Jacob is showing. From across the pond she feels the pressure coming from Jacob, with his index and middle finger from his right hand placed on his forehead lightning sparks from all around, eventually a light shines from his fingers and he locks his eyes on Rugar who is still smiling in anticipation.

Jacob: Now, SPECIAL BEAM CANNON.

Jacob points his fingers at Rugar and a spiral beam shoots out flying at light speed into Rugars chest and out of his back. Without dropping his smile Rugar flies backwards and hits the ground. For an instant he thinks he's killed another demon and starts walking towards the river when Rugar starts cackling like a hyena.

Jacob: You've gotta be shitting me.

Rugar: I can see why Bazrik had a hard time with you, but I don't see how he could've died from something like that. I'm disappointed at how weak he was if that power was enough to kill him.

Jacob starts sweating not expecting this demon to be so durable. He then remembers when he Marco and Ron had their conversation.

Marco(Memory): Yeah, second demon I've fought so far, and this guy was way stronger than the last one. I wouldn't be surprised if you've got your own demons coming your way.

Jacob(Thinking): I guess Marco was right, I did have a demon making his way to me.

Rugar jumps to his feet, the hole still in his chest. His heart is visible and is still beating behind his destroyed ribs, slowly his wounds heal starting with his bones, followed by his muscles and tendons, then his skin.

Rugar: It took me over thirty seconds to fully heal. Feel proud hero.

Jacob: I made a mistake, I was trained to hit center mass. But I should've hit your head. HENSHIN.

Around his waist a belt with a crank appears, a voice shouting "RABBIT TANK BEST MATCH" can be heard followed by "THE SOUND OF STEEL, RABBITTANK" and a bright light overtaking Jacobs body. Once the light dissipates Jacob is standing there wearing a red and blue suit, the helmet has red and blue eyes, the red one is the side profile of a rabbit while the blue is a tank, Jacob runs at Rugar, he kicks with his right foot, Rugar catches it with one hand but in an instant Rugar feels a burning pain in his hand and movement. He lets go and sees that the button of his shoe has tank treads and they're spinning fast.

Rugar: Clever, but I won't fall for it twice.

Jacob: Good to know.

Rugar charges at Jacob who uses his left foot to spring high into the air. Confused Rugar looks up and sees Jacob flying higher.

Rugar: Don't think you can get away, I can fly myself.

Rugar tries to jump but out of nowhere an energy chart locks itself on him, confused and frustrated that he can't get loose "READY GO" he looks up.

Jacob: I told you, don't regret anything when you die.

"VORTEX FINISH", Jacob flies down the chart with a flying side kick. He makes contact with Rugar's head causing an explosion. He lands on the ground and de-transforms, he starts to walk back to the river when a cackle is heard in the fire.

Rugar: Now that was fun, show me more.

Jacob: Okay, this is concerning.

Rugar: Don't tell me that's all you have.

Jacob: I've got plenty more up my sleeve.

Rugar: Good.

Jacob was sweating and thinking "This isn't good, Piccolo and Build's better moves couldn't make this guy even flinch". He starts charging power in his right fist when Rugar flies at him. Before Rugar can make contact Jacob throws his fist and shouts "UNITED STATES OF WORLD SMASH". The punch rips Rugars arm and half his body to pieces and levels most of the forest behind him, Jacob's arm completely breaks, all of his bones splinter and fragment through his skin. Jacob holds his arm and screams in pain.
Roxy: HOLD ON JAKE WE'RE COMING!

Phoebe: Let's go, he needs our help.

They run to the riverbed and Rose uses ice magic to make a path for them, unbeknownst to them the demon girl has already swam over and is climbing on the land. She sees Jacob pulling his arm off, and forcefully regrowing it back. She is scared and thinks he might be a demon in disguise, until she sees Rugar laughing with half of his body stammering to Jacob and regrowing his missing parts, when she looks at Jacob she sees he's panting and struggling to move the new arm.

Rugar: I'd think you were a demon with your ability to regrow limbs, but it's so instant unlike our crude way which slowly regenerates cells one at a time. However you look like you're in pain from regrowing it.

Jacob: You think you're so smart huh.

Rugar: Well I wasn't made a general for my strength alone.

Jacob: General huh, I guess there's not many more people above you in strength are there.

Rugar: The only one above me is Azrael himself.

Jacob: You talk like you're familiar with him.

Rugar: Well he and I are childhood friends, he trusts me over even his own family.

Jacob: A lot of talking is being done, weren't we supposed to be fighting.

Rugar: I like to banter with weak opponents until I've had my fill.

Jacob: You call me weak while you've been having to regenerate every few minutes.

Rugar: And yet I've used very little of my power while you are on your knees panting.

Jacob: Unlike you who laughs pain off, I actually acknowledge my pain.

Rugar: And that's why you're weak and will die by my hands.

Rugar charges at Jacob while his arm is still regenerating. Before he can make contact the demon girl jumps on his back a blade explodes out of her wrist and she stabs into Rugars back.

Rugar: Ah, what the hell.

He reaches back trying to grab the girl.

Girl: Leave him alone.

Jacob: W-what, hey get away from there or you'll die.

Rugar: Too late for that.

He grabs her arm and pulls her off snapping the blade in the process, she screams in pain while Rugar holds the girl outstretched in his arm and he laughs in surprise.

Rugar: Hahaha, so a demon decided to betray the demon army and attack a superior.

Jacob: Wha, a demon.

Girl: No, I'm not a demon!

Rugar: You might've ripped your horns out but you're still a demon,

Girl: I am a human, I am!

Rugar laughed hard and threw her at a sharp stump. Jacob used his speed to catch her, he did get slashed by the stump on his side before landing on the ground embracing her.

Girl: Oh no are you okay?

Jacob: I'll be fine, why did you do that though?

Girl: You gave me fish, I wanted to repay your kindness.

Jacob: I don't know what you're talking about, but stay out of the way or you'll be killed.

Jacob let go of her and jumped at Rugar who was trying to pull the blade out of his back. In mid jump he put his hands together at his side and powered up the Kamehameha. When he got face to face with Rugar who hadn't noticed him yet he fired the blast sending him flying into a tree pushing the blade deeper into his back and out of his chest. His face was blasted off, but it was clear he was angry. He ripped the blade out of his chest and threw it at Jacob who dodged it.

Rugar's face regenerated, he wasn't smiling at all, the veins in his forehead popped out, he was clenching his teeth hard and his eyes had a fire rage that burned brighter than the sun, a blade grew out of his arm. He ignored Jacob and jumped fast at the demon girl. Jacob was surprised and almost hesitated, he used the Flash's speed and ran towards the girl to get in between her and Rugar. Blood splashes across the area as Rugar slashes Jacob's back revealing his spine and ribs.

The slash goes from his right shoulder down to his lower left back just above his hip.

Jacob: Are you okay?

Girl: B-b-but you're hurt.

Jacob: I'll be fine. You need to get out of here, he's clearly out for your blood. I won't let him hurt you.

Girl: But you can't fight and protect me!

Jacob: Watch me.

Jacob tried to walk but fell immediately to his knees bleeding profusely. The pain made him vomit a combination of blood and the dinner he had not long ago.

Girl: No you can't fight like this.

Jacob: Give me a second to catch my breath.

He forced himself to one knee when he did a few different hand signs. The other girls finally got over the ice bridge when Rugar jumped towards Jacob and the girl. Phoebe put up a shield in front Jacob who hadn't noticed they had arrived had finally finished the hand signs and lightning formed in his right hand and the sounds of birds could be heard.

Jacob: CHIDORI.

Rugar jumped back and braced himself.

Jacob: Tell me something, did you take that vial of demon's blood?
Rugar: Why would I, you're nowhere near the threat needed for me to take it.

Jacob: You overestimate your strength. 1,000 BIRDS!

Jacob charged forward and jammed his hand through Rugars chest and pulled down splitting Rugar in half. His bisected body fell in different directions. He tried to grab his lower half to reattach it when Jacob jumped high in the air with his hands outstretched to his side before bringing them together and putting them to his side.

Jacob: FINAL KAMEHAMEHA.

He fired a blast of yellow and white energy, Rugar knew he wasn't ready to block it so he begrudgingly took the vial of blood and regenerated his body fast but not fast enough to block it before it hit. Jacob fell towards the ground, the demon girl grew wings with dark feathers and flew up to catch him. Since she hadn't flown before she struggled to stay afloat and they crashed to the ground. Phoebe and the others ran up to help Jacob, when they got to them Phoebe started healing, Inki yanked the demon girl off and held her by the throat.

Inki: You're a demon just like the one who attacked us.

Girl: N-no I-I'm not a d-d-demon.

Sylvie pulled her bowstring taut ready to fire an arrow into the girl's head.

Sylvie: Don't lie to us, you were gonna kill Jake with that other one.

Roxy: Girls wait, she caught him.

Inki: She probably was going to fly away and kill him away from his comrades.

Rose: I don't think so, she seemed unfamiliar with her wings.

Sylvie: Still we can't trust her.

Phoebe: ALL OF YOU STOP IT.

The girls all look toward Phoebe who was sealing the wound on his back. Jacob was still conscious but was in so much pain he couldn't speak, once the wound was healed leaving a scar that went over the stab scar he got from Bazrik he sat up.

Jacob: Inki put her down and Sylvie put the bow away.

Inki: But my love.

Sylvie: We can't just trust a demon.

Jacob: She jumped in and stabbed that demon general, and the damage he did to me was because I jumped in to protect her.

Rose: I am curious. Why would a demon attack a fellow demon?

Girl: I keep telling you I'm not a demon.

Phoebe: Then what are you?
Girl: I-I, I don't know.

Roxy: Do you know your name?

Girl: No, all I know is I was tortured and experimented on, I don't know for how long but I escaped and have been running away from the demons since.

Inki: We can't just take her at her word, she could be lying to deceive us.

Girl: N-no I'm not.

Jacob: No name girl, come here.

The girls look at Jacob shocked and the demon girl slowly walks to Jacob. She sits in front of him, Inki and Sylvie stood behind her tensed up and ready to attack if anything should happen. Jacob puts his hand on her head and closes his eyes. In an instant Jacob could see all the memories the demon girl had which included a blur of being kidnapped from a burning village, whipped, and being strapped to a table being poked and prodded with different medical instruments. He could see the pain she was being inflicted with and felt bad for her. He finally saw the moment of her escape and that she had been on the run for almost three months. He let go and had to catch his breath, Sylvie and Inki initially thought the girl had done something to him and were about to pounce when Jacob put his hand up.

Jacob: I'm okay, I'm okay. You really have been put through hell.

Phoebe: D-did you see something?

Jacob: Yeah I saw her memories.

Ale: Since when can you do that?

Roxy: Your power really has no limits does it.

Phoebe: What did you see?
Jacob: I saw her memories as far back as I could, I saw a burning village, whips and experimentation. Poor girl has spent who knows how long being chained to a table being cut up. She's all alone.

Roxy: She has nowhere to go?

Jacob: Doesn't seem like it.

Roxy: Then how about we let her join us.

The other girls are surprised to hear Roxy throw out that idea, Phoebe smiles knowing why she did it.

Jacob: I have no problems, what about you five?

Phoebe: I'll agree with you Jake, you've never led us astray.

Rose: I don't think I have any right to have an opinion. I only joined a couple of weeks ago.

Jacob: You're a part of this group just like the rest of us. We will take your feelings into consideration.

Rose: Well, I'm not a fan of it, but I'm willing to put my trust into you.

Ale: I will too.

Jacob: Thank you. Sylvie, Inki?

Sylvie: It doesn't matter what we think since the vote is already four in favor. But I don't like it one bit, thinking back on Hazel and Victor who were also humans and they tried to kill us.

Phoebe: Sylvie, Hazel was evil and Victor had his mind destroyed from the demon king's blood.

Sylvie: And we know nothing of this girl at all, she could have been sent to try and deceive us.

Jacob: Sylvie, I saw her memories. Memories don't lie.

Sylvie: Those memories could've been planted.

Jacob: But then they'd have to know someone had a telekinetic ability.

Inki: Jake my love I agree with Sylvie, a demon joining us could pose difficulties.

Jacob: If it'll make you feel better I'll keep an eye on her and make sure she won't hurt anyone.

Sylvie blushes when she registers what Jacob said and gives him a jealous look.

Sylvie: That doesn't make me feel any better.

Jacob: What's the problem with that?

Sylvie doesn't answer, she just stands there blushing, Jacob looks at the other girls who are also blushing just not with as much jealousy though.

Jacob: I really don't get any of you, but with a vote of four to two we're gonna let her join.

The demon girl smiles and thanks everyone, Jacob does have a quizzical look on his face.

Phoebe: Dear you look like you're deep in thought.

Jacob: I'm thinking of what we should call her. What do you think?
Girl: I-I will accept whatever name given.

Jacob: Hmm, how about Liora?

The girl looks at Jacob with wonderment in her eyes.

Girl: Liora, I love it. Please call me Liora.

Roxy held onto Liora's hands and happily welcomed her to the group.
Sylvie: Why does Roxy gravitate to her so easily?

Phoebe: Remember when we found Roxy, she was ostracized by everyone including her own people. Liora lost her whole village and was tortured, to Roxy the two of them must be kindred spirits.

Rose: Alone and hated, Roxy doesn't want Liora to go through similar experiences, It seems like Liora got lucky when she came upon us.

Inki: Well, for Roxy's sake I will try to accept her.

Sylvie looks at Roxy who is smiling while holding Liora's hands and smiles seeing how happy Roxy is.

Sylvie: Alright, just as long as we don't have to worry about her trying to become a girlfriend I think I'll be fine.

Phoebe: I will admit six of us are intense. I'm not sure how seven will be.

Ale: I wouldn't mind as long the love she has for him would be genuine.

Rose: Oh, I already have a hard time sharing him.

Inki: You try and spend more time with him than we do, and we've been here longer.

The girls are laughing and bantering when in the crater where Rugar was blasted the ground shakes hard for a moment, when Rugar comes blasting out. His body mass has increased twice to what he was before, his horns have grown exponentially, his teeth have become razor sharp, his human looking skin had become bloodied with black veins covering him, he grew an extra pair of wings giving him wings on his upper back and lower back. He was shaking while looking at himself, his rage was building to the point of exploding. He looked over at Jacob and the group and almost as if he just stepped he was right in front of Jacob.

Jacob: WHA?!

Rugar choked Jacob and lifted him up, the girls initially caught off guard then threw attacks at him hoping to get him to let Jacob go.

Inki: You better let go of him.
Sylvie: That's our man. Spirit Arrow

Phoebe: Holy Shine.

Ale: Wing Blade.

Roxy: Beast Claw.

Rose: Ice Ball.

Their attacks hit Rugar from all sides. Rugar isn't fazed at all, he and Jacob stare each other down before Rugar pulls him closer.

Rugar: Four months.

Jacob: Huh?

Rugar: You and I will fight again in four months, if by that time you aren't strong enough to beat me, then you will die a slow painful death.

Jacob: What. Did I force you to drink your friend's blood?

Rugar: I will admit that this is humiliating, I underestimated you. But now just like these insects you would do hardly anything but tickle me.

Jacob: So the sore loser needs prep time?

Rugar: I want a good fight, and with this power I have you wouldn't give me even so much as a warmup.

Jacob: Where do you wanna meet then?
Rugar: I'll find you before and give you the location.
Jacob: Fine. Don't regret it.

Rugar: I won't, but you will fear Rugar, highest general of the demon army.

Rugar drops Jacob smiles and flies away. Liora was in the fetal position crying from fear, the other girls were shocked and scared that they didn't even leave a scratch on him. Jacob was massaging his neck, frustrated that with all his power Rugar was still able to get back up.

Phoebe, Sylvie, Ale, Roxy, and Rose fall to their knees while Inki braces herself with her kanabo.

Jacob stands up and uses the power of Pain's Heavenly Pull to bring all the girls to him at once where he embraces them to help them calm down.

Jacob: It's okay now. We're all okay.

Phoebe tears up while Roxy, Ale, Rose and Liora go into full blown crying. Sylvie just embraced him while closing her eyes, and Inki relaxed and let a few tears out.

Jacob: I promise that I will protect all of you.
