Star Wars Memory of Remnant

Announcement: New Jedi Order: Legacy of the Chosen

Hello to my readers, it's been awhile and I'm just now getting back into a Star Wars mood. This is my first update since the Skywalker trilogy ended and sorry to say, I'm part of the half that liked The Rise of Skywalker, so give me shit for that if you must, I'm not changing my mind it's deeply flawed and some stuff just don't make sense, but it's entertaining and that's all it really needs to be. It's the polar opposite of The Last Jedi, better received among fans and panned by critics. Though Legends will always be better in my opinion. Please respect my opinion on the matter, that being said onto the announcement.

I've been reading some old New Jedi Order and Young Jedi Knights books I've had laying around in my attic and I've gotten very immersed in that world again and the academy setting, lighthearted characters and honest to goodness heroics matched RWBY's story too much to not write a crossover.

The story takes place in a modified third canon that mixes elements of canon and Legends and there are two main protagonists, Jacen Solo, and Ben Solo, who replaces Jaina Solo as Jacen's younger twin in this story. There's no obvious sibling rivalry and their relationship can be described as akin to Arcann and Thexan from Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire and Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma's from Tales of the Jedi. Anakin Solo will also appear as their immensely talented younger brother.

Han and Leia will be distant parental figures like in canon and Legends, leaving Ben, Jacen and Anakin to be raised by Winter Celchu. Ben especially resented that and hated that his parents never seemed to truly care about him, despite them loving him and his brothers deeply. Jacen and Anakin were a little more adjusted to the fact, because Jacen had animals and Anakin had machinery, whereas Ben had no particular interest and was prone to unstable episodes that caused his powers to go out of control at times.

This version of Ben Solo is a little more tragic than his canon counterpart because he knew from the start that he was a grandchild of Darth Vader and he felt he was always destined to be defined by that, especially since dark voices spoke to him since he was born. Those dark voices belonged to Palpatine through Snoke, who was biding his time until he could fully turn the boy.

Ben, Jacen and Anakin would then go on to be trained by Luke Skywalker on Remnant, which he chose to be the location of his new Jedi Academy instead of Yavin IV in this story. The Solo children then meet his other students, Jaden Korr, Raynar Thul, Lowbacca, Zekk, Ganner Rhysode and Valin Horn from Legends and Tai, Voe and Hennix from canon. There are also other masters like Kyle Katarn, Corran Horn and Kyp Durron from Legends. By then during the later events of the story, Luke will name his first son, Ben Skywalker after Ben Solo because he sees Ben Solo as the future of the Jedi Order and a new Chosen One.

Ben always felt isolated from the other students because of his very potent but unstable connection to the Force, he knew he was stronger than everyone else, but struggled with the dark voices and lack of control as well as his own insecurities because he felt he could never live up to Luke, Anakin Skywalker and his namesake, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

That's when Luke makes a decision, to send Ben, Jacen and Anakin to Beacon Academy because Luke himself was a student there in the past along with his team LLGE, which consisted of Luke, Leia, Galen Marek and Ezra Bridger.

Luke and Ozpin sensed the growing darkness within the young Ben Solo and hoped the people he meets at Beacon will change him, but it works a little too well and it pushes him further into darkness. Luke and Raven Branwen are old flames and their relationship is belligerent, with Raven still loving him.

There, Jacen meets Ruby Rose, his love interest and they hit it off almost immediately since he's her first friend in Beacon other than Yang and she's really intrigued by his lightsaber. Like in Memory of Remnant, Ben and Weiss Schnee are childhood friends and dubiously engaged thanks to Han losing a game of Sabacc to Jacques. Ben and Pyrrha become a couple at some point. Jacen's also childhood friends with Neopolitan, who's in love with him and is quite the yandere.

Anakin has no major love interest, but Penny Polendina has a huge crush on him, which he doesn't understand or know, but he performs routine maintenance on her sometimes.

Jacen Solo is like his canon counterpart, kind and has love for all forms of life, collecting pets and trying to tame and befriend any wild animal he comes across and making bad jokes, something he bonds over with Yang Xiao Long. Though he can be as philosophical as Yoda at times when pondering the role the Jedi must take in the galaxy.

Jacen believes that the Jedi should answer only to themselves and not be the New Republic's personal army, believing that it will cause a repeat of the Clone Wars.

Jacen is a complex character in canon and probably one of my all-time favourite Star Wars characters, so I hope to do him justice. He's basically a better Kylo as Darth Caedus.

Anakin's beliefs are more standard for a Jedi, believing they should help whenever their needed and that a Jedi's loyalty is to the New Republic, something he'll often debate about with Jacen.

Blake Belladonna and Ben have shared history together since he got lost in a White Fang protest as a child and he awakened his Force Stasis abilities at the time when he froze bullets aimed at Blake in place, they are close with Blake harbouring feelings for Ben and she deeply resents Weiss for their closeness.

Thanks to Snoke's voice leading Ben to ancient ruins, he met a young Cinder Fall as a child and Snoke hoped that she would lead him down a dark path, they lived together in the ruins for a month, but were separated, now Cinder wants to find Ben, since she has feelings for him.

We'll see Poe Dameron in his younger years and his rivalry with First Order ace pilot, Jagged Fel from Legends.

The First Order from canon and the Imperial Remnant from Legends will be fused into one entity and since not as much time has passed, there will be more imperial influence and some leftover members of the Inquisitorius. They control the White Fang and Atlas from the shadows and most of the tech in Atlas are leaked from the First Order.

The villains of the first arc are the Shadow Academy led by Brakiss and Zekk turning into his most prized pupil, The Darkest Knight. Zekk is a childhood friend of the Solo children like in Legends. The Shadow Academy is a training ground for new Inquisitors in this new canon and they recruit fallen Jedi or Force-sensitives they abducted at a young age.

The overarching villains for the first half are the Jedi Killer from Memory of Remnant along with the rebuilt shell of General Grievous, N-K Necrosis and Prince Valorum, a graduate of the Shadow Academy. The Jedi Killer's identity is a secret, but he's tied to Luke's past. The Jedi Killer as an opponent is frankly out of the Solo children's league, so it's up to Luke to fight him.

The second half introduces the Knights of Ren, Ren and Snoke, who are more actively trying to corrupt Ben to the Dark Side and in this story, Ben is turned into Kylo Ren much earlier than in canon, being turned when he's eighteen and the events of the sequel trilogy take place but with major changes. The catalyst for Ben's turn is Pyrrha's death since he sensed Cinder killing her and she was the one he loved most. The sacrifice Ben makes won't be Han, but someone else arguably closer to him, but that's a secret for now.

It is revealed that Brakiss, Kueller, Jerec, Desann, The Jedi Killer, Sedriss QL, Lumiya and Cronal were a part of Snoke's inner circle, with only the Jedi Killer and Sedriss knowing that Palpatine was really in charge.

Naturally, Salem and Cinder will also be villains and their roles are pretty much the same as it is in RWBY. But Salem is deeply tied to the Skywalker family in a way that shakes the foundations of their relationship with the Dark Side and she also has some history with Darth Revan and Emperor Vitiate. In this story, Salem is Abeloth or "The Mother" since their backstories are almost identical.

At some point, Jacen will be captured and tortured by Salem with Vergere teaching him how to survive and he awakens his power to use the Dark Side to control Grimm. From then on, Jacen becomes instrumental to the war, but also more cold, pragmatic and willing to take drastic actions, paving the way to his turn to Darth Caedus.

The story will span fifteen years and will put our heroes through hell because of many wars and conflicts, though Ben won't die, instead he'll be redeemed and lead the battle against Jacen who becomes Darth Caedus.

Jacen's turn into Darth Caedus will be well-intentioned, he saw it as the only way he could save the galaxy and prevent a future where his and Ruby's daughter will rule by the side of the "Dark Man" later revealed to be Darth Krayt. This story arc will enter the concept stage when RWBY reaches volume 11 at least. The story will end with the death of Darth Caedus and will also be about the fall and redemption of Ben Solo.

That's all for now, I'm hoping to get working on this project after my Castlevania chapters are done. If you have any suggestions or questions, PM me and I'll answer them when I can.

Now to answer my reviewers.

ImperialWolves12

The Knights of the Sith are Sith in name only, they're basically remnant Inquisitors masquerading as Sith.

Thanks, I tried to capture Han's roguish nature and Jacques' overall sleaziness and I'm glad it worked. Thanks for that as well, I try to make every character feel important in their own way since when I write, I try to treat my characters like people. Team LLGE is a story I plan on writing once we get more information on Team STRQ's timeline, though I might give the story to you if you're interested.

I'm glad you liked that aspect, I try not to slap my readers in the face and shout "hey, this is Star Wars!" because I know as fans, they'll understand all the references without handholding.

I'm glad this chapter entertained you and I hope you look forward to the new story as well.

Mr. Kino-san

This next story will be more obviously Legends, so it'll be better received, I think.

AnimeGoji91

Pairings have already been decided, but thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Ben, Ruby and Weiss is the pairing and Blake and Cinder also love Ben, as for Yang, probably Jaden Korr.

That story will be LLGE and Starkiller's love interest might be Summer Rose.

Might be up another author's alley.

Alhazad2003

Because Han is Han, so expect those kinds of shenanigans.

Jacques is always trying to make money and grab power, so it's natural he'll make enemies in high places.

Luke knows some of Ozpin's secrets but is on the dark about the others, and yes, Luke definitely won't agree with him and the way he handles things.

The Jedi Killer is using Cinder to get to Salem and he has an agenda I can't share just yet. Ben will probably kill Adam.

I'm glad you liked this chapter and I hope you like the upcoming story.

Zero-Nightmare

Likewise.

Probably scolded his ears out.

Luke knows only some of it and Ezra will appear later.

Ben gets more volatile as the story goes on.
