Chapter 3: Dates with Destiny
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. For this one I decided to dive into the elements of both the anime and the video games for this chapter. I think you'll like what I have planned as well. Also I've been getting your recommendations and I'm trying to work them out. In the meantime Please Review and Enjoy.
It had been a few days since Mega Man made his debut and he was the hottest thing around.
All over school people were talking about him.
"Can you believe it? There was a big virus attack if he hadn't shown up it would have been a mess."
"I heard he stopped a runaway bus with his bare hands."
"I heard he saved all those people."
"Man, he is so cool."
"So why did he run from the police then?"
At his shoe locker, Hikaru was struggling to keep it together. Needless to say, all these rumors of Mega Man were making him nervous.
'If these people ever found out.' Hikaru thought when suddenly got a text from Amachi.
"Hey Hikaru, I wanted to talk to you when you had the chance. Come by my lab tomorrow and we can talk." It read.
"Huh? He wants to see me?" Hikaru said surprised.
Normally he would say no but since he had Omega Xis it wouldn't hurt to see what he wanted to talk about.
"Hey you." Snapping out of his thoughts Hikaru saw Yukana approach him.
"Oh hey Yukana." Hikaru said.
"Can you believe it? This Mega Man guy is all anyone is talking about. And he totally saved Ranko." Yukana said.
"Is she okay?" Hikaru asks.
"Oh don't worry about Ranko, a little shaken up but she's tough. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out tomorrow?" Yukana asks.
"Well I do have to visit a friend of the family so maybe in the afternoon? I can text you when it's over." Hikaru suggests.
"It's a date boyfriend." Yukana giggles making Hikaru pause.
"Uh yeah…s-see you then." He said.
As Yukana walked over to his seat, he just realized he had agreed to go out on another date.
Looking at his smart watch he saw a blank screen showing Omega Xis was still gone.
'Thank god he wasn't here to hear me say that.' Hikaru thought.
Up on the school rooftop, we see Omega Xis looking out at the EM world around the city.
'The viruses were just the start, soon the others will be on their way. The only question is who will be first?' Omega Xis thought. 'I'll have to make sure he's ready when they do come.'
Meanwhile, at the AMAKEN labs, we find Amachi walking with a man with black hair wearing traditional Japanese clothing. This was Tenma Kashiwazaki.
"So how are we looking in regards to tomorrow?" Tenma asks.
"We'll have everything ready to show tomorrow. I think we'll be able to find some more sponsors." Amachi said.
"Excellent." Tenma smiles.
"We thank you again for your help in continuing our work. Your donations help keep the lights on here." Amachi said.
"No trouble at all. By the way, do you have that visitor's pass for me?" Tenma asks.
"Right here," Amachi said handing him it. "So who are you bringing tomorrow?"
"My daughter. I'm trying to get her more involved in what I do." He said.
"Nice. I have a friend coming tomorrow as well." Amachi said when they noticed a skinny man with long hair covering his right eye and carrying something in a big rolling suitcase. This was Shinsuke Utagi.
"Calling it a day early, Shinsuke?" Amachi asks startling him.
"A-Amachi! Uh no actually. You see I…" Shinsuke starts but nervously looks away until Amachi notices the bag.
"No way, did you finish it this time?" Amachi asks.
"This is not what you think it is! It's mine and none of your business!" Shinsuke said clinging to the bag tightly.
"Hey take it easy. We were just curious." Tenma said.
"Well stop hounding me! No more questions! Just leave me alone!" Shinsuke said running past them with his invention.
"What's with him? He's awfully rude. Didn't you help get him this job?" Tenma glares.
"It's fine. Go easy on him sir. Shinsuke has some trust issues. At the last lab he worked with one of his superiors stole an idea of his and claimed all the credit for himself. But still, I thought he knew he could trust me at least." Amachi sighs.
"Trust is a complicated thing. It can take years to build but can be broken in seconds." Tenma shook his head.
Once school was over, we saw Mega Man running across the EM roads.
"It's insane. I'm the most talked about thing in school and at the same time no one knows it's me." Mega Man said.
"Boy, you humans are really an excited bunch. You see something new and you all go crazy for it." Omega Xis said as he came to a stop.
"Well, can you blame them? I mean look at me." Mega Man asks gesturing to himself.
"Either way, we need to be on the lookout for any Viruses." Omega Xis said.
Coming to a stop, Mega Man looked around and noticed several viruses gathering near the outskirts of the city.
"I think I found something." Mega Man said.
"Well don't just stand there. Go after it." Omega Xis said as he took off after the viruses.
Chasing after the viruses, Mega Man saw several Zap Ace and Crowcar Viruses about to attack a small electrical building.
"Alright kid time to move in. Stop them." Omega Xis said.
"Got it." Mega Man said as a Crowcar noticed him.
Cawing it flew in at a fast speed.
"Battlecard Sword!" As a glowing sword appears on his arm, Mega Man slashes the Crowcar.
Moving forward Mega Man slashes two more before a Zap Ace hurls a ball of electricity at him causing Mega Man to cringe in pain before skidding back.
"Getting in close isn't a good idea with that virus. Switch to long range." Omega Xis suggests.
"Yeah, I got that. Battlecard Gattling!" As his arm changed to a Gatling gun, Mega Man opened fired blasting the Zap Aces away.
As all of them gathered together, Mega Man knew he had to hit fast.
"Battlecard Heatball!" As a red sphere appeared in his hand Mega Man threw it causing an explosion to go off destroying all the viruses.
"That's all of them, good work." Omega Xis said.
Exiting the EM World, Hikaru sat on a bench near the outskirts of the city.
"This is gonna take some getting used to," Hikaru said catching his breath before rubbing his shoulder in pain.
"Don't worry the pain will go away in a bit. Since we merged you only feel that pain when you're Mega Man." Omega Xis said.
"Well at least it's temporary but man." Hikaru groans before looking around. "Man, I am far from home."
"Don't worry about it. Hop back on the EM waves you could home in no time." Omega Xis said when Hikaru had a thought.
"So EM waves, how far do they go?" Hikaru asks curiously.
"You could be on the other side of the planet in a matter of seconds." Omega Xis said surprising him.
"Seriously?" Hikaru said in disbelief.
"EM waves travel far." Omega Xis said.
"Man if Mom could see this," Hikaru said and Omega Xis narrowed his eyes.
"Hikaru, you need to know something." Omega Xis said getting his attention. "When the FM-Ians arrive they will use the evil and weakness in your hearts so they can take control of your species. Humans are easy for us to manipulate and control."
"How many are coming?" Hikaru asks.
"I don't know, but when they do they will take advantage of your species weakness." Omega Xis warns.
"Hold on a second. You haven't been doing that to me have you?" Hikaru asks looking at his watch when he asks that.
"No Hikaru. I cannot manipulate you in that way. You're an exception just like your mother was." Omega Xis said.
"My mother? What do you know about her?" Hikaru asks.
"Very little." Omega Xis simply stated before turning the watch off.
"Ugh. Just when I think I'm gonna find out about Mom." Hikaru groans annoyed.
Looking around he noticed a figure on the cliffs nearby.
"Wait a second." Narrowing his eyes he saw Shinsuke standing over the edge. "Wait I know him. Mr. Utagi? What's he doing out here?" Hikaru asks himself before coming to an assumption. "No! Don't do it!"
Thinking he was about to commit suicide Hikaru sprints towards him.
Taking a deep breath Shinsuke jumps off the cliff and plummets.
"Oh dear god no! Omega Xis he jumped!" Hikaru panics.
"Well, then what are you going to do?" Omega Xis reminds him that he was the one who had to do something.
Realizing he had to save him, Hikaru was about to change when Shinsuke ditched his trench coat revealing high-tech wings that allowed him to fly through the sky.
"Holy crap," Hikaru said in awe while Shinsuke had a big smile on his face.
"It works! It really works! Test flight has succeeded! And the best part is no one can steal it from me! And I'll never let them have it!" Shinsuke cheers making Hikaru feel uneasy.
"Wow, he has issues." Hikaru cringes.
Little did they know someone was watching this, or more specifically Shinsuke.
"His EM-Frequency. It's almost identical to my own." The voice said before getting a wicked idea.
However as he flew above the trees, Shinsuke's wings suddenly stopped.
"Oh no am I out of fuel already?" He gasps before falling down and crashing into a tree.
Cringing Hikaru ran to him.
"Are you okay?" Hikaru asks seeing him lean against a tree with his invention next to him. "That was some fall."
"I'm okay. The tree broke my fall for me." Shinsuke said before realizing who it was. "Hey, you're Hikaru. You're Amachi's friend."
"Yeah, glad to see you remember me," Hikaru said when Shinsuke suddenly suspected something.
"Wait a minute. How is it you just happened to be here? You're a spy, aren't you? A spy after my Sky Pack aren't you?!" Shinsuke accuses.
"What? No, I'm not!" Hikaru said almost immediately.
"You'll never get it! Do you hear me?! Never!" Shinsuke said grabbing his Sky Pack and holding it like a lifeline.
"Whoa. Whoa. Take it easy. I don't want your invention. Look I came out here because I wanted to be by myself for a little bit away from everything. I swear I didn't even know you were out here. I have no interest in taking your invention." Hikaru assures as Shinsuke lowers his guard.
"Sorry, I guess I just have a hard time trusting people," Shinsuke admits.
"Yeah, I noticed. Look I saw you fall and I was worried. Give me your hand I'll help you to your car." Hikaru offers.
Slowly Shinsuke takes and Hikaru helps him over and puts the Sky Jacket in the trunk for him.
"You sure I can't give you a ride back?" Shinsuke offers.
"Thanks but I'm good. Maybe I'll see you at the lab tomorrow. I was invited over." Hikaru said.
"Maybe," Shinsuke said before driving off.
Turning back into Mega Man, Hikaru took off to go back home.
The next day at the Space Lab, Hikaru had a visitor pass on as he made his way inside.
Looking around he saw quite a few other people had come to see the station.
"Wow, I haven't been to a place like this in years," Hikaru said looking around in awe.
"Interesting. So you can enjoy going to places with others." Omega Xis noticed.
"Well yeah I mean I'm not completely isolated. I've always been fascinated by space." Hikaru said.
"Good to know." Omega Xis said.
"Hikaru there you are!" Up ahead he saw Amachi waving at him.
Walking over to him, he was very happy to see him.
"Glad to see you could make it," Amachi said.
"Yeah, I thought I would check it out. By the way what's with the crowd?" Hikaru asks.
"We always keep the museum part of it open for visitors but today we have a few investors meeting with our scientists to see if they want to sponsor any projects," Amachi explains.
"I guess that explains why Mr. Utagi was testing out his invention last night," Hikaru said as Amachi looked at him interested.
"You saw the Sky Pack in action? Did it work?" Amachi asks.
"Uh yeah it did at least until he ran out of fuel," Hikaru said.
"Yes, that means he's almost got it down," Amachi asks.
"Wait you know about it? How?" Hikaru asks.
"He's not the best at keeping secrets. People have been dreaming of a personal flying device for centuries. If he pulls it off his genius will finally be recognized." Amachi smiles happy for him.
'He always sticks his neck out for people. Even if they don't want it.' Hikaru thought reaching up and touching the visualizers remembering how he came to give them to him.
"Hey, how about I give you a tour of my lab? We're just meeting up with one more guest." Amachi said before noticing someone approaching them. "Ah, there she is."
Eyes widening Hikaru saw a pretty girl around his age with long blonde hair, a butterfly pin in it, blue eyes, and a chest that could rival Yukana, wearing a light green jacket over a pink top and a blue skirt. This was Sena Kashiwakazi. One of the most popular girls in school. Not to mention her father is also the President of the school.
"Excuse me are you Mr. Mamoru?" Sena asks.
"Yep that's me, but no need to be so formal. Just call me Amachi." He smiles.
"I see." She said before noticing Hikaru. "Huh? I didn't expect anyone from my school to be here."
"Me neither. So you like space?" Hikaru asks.
"Hmm not as much but my daddy wanted me to come see how things are done here." Sena shrugs.
"Her father is one of our lead investors. He actually sponsored quite a few of your mother's projects." Amachi said getting Hikaru's attention.
"He did?" Hikaru pauses. He remembered his mom had a favorite sponsor for her projects but he never knew who it was.
"Come on. I'll show you the lab." Amachi said leading them away.
"So what year are you?" Sena asks.
"I'm a second year," Hikaru said making her gasp.
"No way same as me. I'm in class 2-3." Sena said.
"I'm in 2-5," Hikaru said.
"Well, that explains why we probably never met before. Your class is on the opposite end of the hallway." Sena said. "But then again I guess I do keep myself busy."
Hikaru knew what she meant. He had never talked to her, but he saw her around campus a few times. Being popular lots of boys worshipped her. And it wasn't just looks. She's had some of the top grades in their year.
Needless to say, even if Hikaru was in her class, no way he could stick out among all the other boys who basically threw themselves at her.
As Amachi led them into the lab, Shinsuke noticed this and was not happy.
"Oh no, I left the Sky Pack in there." He realized.
Inside the room, Hikaru and Sena saw quite a few amazing inventions in the works.
"Well, this isn't as boring as I thought it would be. What do all these things do?" Sena asks looking around.
"Yeah this is pretty cool," Hikaru said.
Peeking in from the door, Shinsuke noticed them walking to the wall where his Sky Pack was hanging from.
"Hey, what's this one?" Sena asks.
Trying to listen in Shinsuke only heard a few things.
"…Pack. I invented it." Amachi said making him gasp thinking he meant the Sky Pack.
'No, it can't be.' Shinsuke thought feeling the cold sting of betrayal course through him. Not being able to take it he ran away.
However, if he had listened carefully he would have seen that Amachi wasn't talking about his Sky Pack but rather a rocket and booster pack for a future shuttle launch.
"Wow pretty detailed," Hikaru said impressed.
"Been working on this for weeks," Amachi said proudly.
"So what's that thing then?" Sena asks pointing to the Sky Pack.
"That's something my coworker made. It's called the Sky Pack but that's not ready yet." Amachi assures.
"Interesting." Sena pauses.
Atop the roof, Shinsuke was growling in anger.
"It's always the same with everyone. They claim to be your friend but the second they get the chance they stab you in the back. It's not fair." Shinsuke growls looking out at the station.
"Betrayal is the essence of your species." A voice said.
Turning around Shinsuke saw an FM-Ian behind him. But this one was different from Omega Xis. Its body took the shape of a swan with a body of light blue energy and blue and white plated armor. This was Cygnus.
"W-What are you?" Shinsuke trembles.
"I am Cygnus. A Friend who has come from the Planet FM. Do not be afraid. I wish to offer you the chance to fight back against those who have betrayed you." Cygnus offers.
"Against Amachi?" Shinsuke pauses wondering if that was what he really wanted.
However, before he could object Cygnus' eyes glowed red causing a bright light to engulf them both.
As the tour ended the two students and Amachi joined everyone back in the museum.
"Well, I can definitely see why daddy comes here often. The people here are creative." Sena said.
"Yeah, they are," Hikaru said.
"You're not really one for words are you?" Sena asks curiously.
"Hmm depends on the subject I guess. I mean I can talk quite a bit if I wanted to." Hikaru said.
"Oh yeah, prove it." Sena challenges.
"Come again?" Hikaru said.
"Show me you can have a conversation. I mean come on there's got to be something here that really grabs your attention." Sena said.
Looking over, Amachi smirks hoping that he will take the challenge.
"I guess if I had to pick something. It is this." Hikaru said looking at a model of the satellites of Pegasus, Leo, and Draco, and remembered some stuff Omega Xis told him. "I mean these 3 satellites forever changed our world. They create the EM waves necessary for all this. They allow us to live our lives, and make these strides in science but more than they extend to every part of the Earth meaning that if we tried hard enough we could help people who really need it. Not just here but anywhere." Hikaru said.
'Well I'll be, the kid listens.' Omega Xis smirks impressed.
"Impressive choice of words Hikaru," Amachi said giving him a small applause.
"Thanks, I just said what was on my mind and—" As he turns over he sees Sena's face inches from his making him jump back startled. "Whoa!"
"So you can have a conversation with people. And not just one sentence. Interesting." Sena said.
Fixing himself Hikaru was about to reply when an alarm went off alerting everyone in the museum.
"Is this a fire drill?" Hikaru asks confused when a blue light shot out and above them, they saw Shinsuke glaring down at them as he seemed to be floating in midair.
"Shinsuke? What are you doing up there?" Amachi asks confused and concerned.
"I've come to punish you, Amachi. You thought you could take my work well now I'll take your entire lab and blow it to pieces!" Shinsuke declares as a light engulfs him and when it dies down he we see him with blue skin, a white swan helmet on his head, a blue battle suit with black on his feet and lower waist, and two large white wings coming out of his back glared down. This was Cygnus Wing.
"What is that thing?!" Sena asks in disbelief.
"Cygnus!" Omega Xis glares appearing on Hikaru's watch.
Spinning like a ballerina, Cygnus Wing sent feathers flying down forcing people to flee in fear as various explosions went off.
Seeing this was serious, Hikaru knew he had to get away and transform.
"Sena this way!" Grabbing her arm, Hikaru pulls her out of the way just narrowly avoiding being hit with feathers.
Leading her down the hall, he leads her to a fire escape.
"Run down these stairs as fast as you don't stop running until you're out of the building," Hikaru said.
"What about you?" Sena asks.
"I gotta go make sure Amachi is okay. Don't worry about me. Just get out safe." Hikaru said before running off.
Sena wasn't sure what to do but when more feathers flew in she yelped before running out.
Running down a corner, Hikaru didn't notice something fall out of his pocket.
"Omega Xis who was that?" Hikaru asks.
"Cygnus. He's a former comrade of mine. It seems he merged with that human we met yesterday." Omega Xis explains.
"We gotta clip that psycho bird's wings!" Hikaru said.
"Finally something we can agree on! Let's take him down!" Omega Xis said in agreement.
"EM Wave Change! On air!" Hikaru said as he transformed into Mega Man.
As Cygnus Wing continued firing feathers everywhere, Mega Man suddenly lunged in from below and tackled him forcing them out of the building.
Pushing back the two beings landed outside the lab. While Mega Man was on the ground, we saw Cygnus Wing standing at the top of a model rocket looking down at them.
"That's enough Cygnus." Mega Man said as Cygnus noticed Omega Xis on the panel of his arm.
"Omega Xis." Cygnus Wing glares.
"To think I would find you in a place like this, Cygnus." Omega Xis mocks.
"It's Cygnus Wing to you. I see you found yourself a host. But he's a lot younger than mine. He's practically a child." Cygnus mocks.
"At least my host is strong. Yours would never do something like this on his own. What did you do to him?" Omega Xis asks.
"I didn't do anything. He wanted this. Isn't that right?" Cygnus asks.
"Amachi betrayed me. And now he will pay for what he did." Cygnus Wing declares.
"Hand over the Andromeda Key, I know you have it." Cygnus orders.
"Never! And don't think I forgot about how you and the others turned against me." Omega Xis growls.
"A traitor among a whole lab full of traitors. Such a fitting place for you. If you won't give it to me then I'll destroy you and take it by force!" Cygnus Wing said flinging feathers at him.
"They're coming too fast! Focus your energy on your scanner. Activate the Shield!" Omega Xis yells.
Raising his left arm, Mega Man created a green energy shield that deflected the attack before disappearing.
"That function's my favorite." Mega Man said before charging in.
As Cygnus Wing fired more feathers at them, Mega Man used the Mega Buster and fired forcing Cygnus Wing to dodge.
Diving in, Cygnus Wing's wings gleamed as he prepared to attack.
"Battlecard Sword!" Turning his arm into a sword, Mega Man leaps up to meet the attack head-on.
The two warriors land on opposite ends revealing both attacks damaged the other.
"Man, he's fast." Mega Man cringed as his arm changed back to normal.
"Hikaru stop holding back. We need to take him down." Omega Xis said.
"But if I destroy him, won't I hurt Mr. Utagi as well?" Mega Man asks.
"No. Just the opposite in fact. To save a human merged with an FM-Ian we need to defeat them. Thus weakening their hold on them." Omega Xis explains.
"Well in that case. Battecard Cannon!" Mega Man said his arm changed into a cannon.
As Cygnus Wing hurled feathers at him, Mega Man leaps up into the air and fires hitting Cygnus Wing right in the chest making him cringe in pain.
Diving in Mega Man kept up the assault forcing Cygnus Wing to dodge.
Leaping up, Cygnus Swing stuck his leg out and began to spin quickly like a tornado. "Dancing Swan!" Racing towards Mega Man he nails him with a pounding pirouette attack knocking him to the ground.
"You think you can defeat me? Ha! I won't rest until I have my revenge!" Cygnus Wing mocks as Mega Man slowly gets up.
'Dealing with FM-Ians is way harder than just regular old viruses.' Mega Man thought.
"Migration!" Creating two black feathered viruses and one white feathered Cygnus Wing launched them at Mega Man.
Jumping up onto the EM Road, he dodges their attack but they fly after him.
Using the Mega Buster, he fired at the Black viruses but they took every hit with ease.
"What in the?" Before he could react they rammed into him knocking Mega Man back.
"That should keep you busy while I carry through with my plan." Looking to the sky, Cygnus Wing took flight making an EM Road that shot right up into space.
Seeing he had to chase after him, Mega Man needed to deal with these viruses.
As the three flew in Mega Man jumped up. Catching his breath he notices the white virus hung the back most of the time while the two black ones always charged forward.
"Battlecard Air Spread!" Activating a card, Mega Man's arm turned into a cannon with a wide range. "Hey, birdies! Up here!"
Looking up, the three viruses flew at him but when Mega Man fired one large blast broke apart into 3 small ones and took out the white one causing the two black ones to be destroyed.
Little did they know up in space, atop one abandoned satellite dish that circled Earth, Cygnus Wing grinned eager for his revenge.
Since Amachi stole his invention, he would make sure that neither he nor anyone else could take anything from him ever again and destroy all their work along with them.
"I'd like to see Mega Man try and stop this," Cygnus said as the satellite began to plummet toward the station.
"He's insane. He's going to kill everyone." Mega Man said in horror.
"If we don't stop him that satellite will crush everyone in a matter of minutes." Omega Xis said. "You need to get up there Hikaru."
"In space? How am I supposed to go up there?" Mega Man asks.
"Cygnus already you a path for that. Follow it and you can stop them." Omega Xis said pointing to an EM Road that led straight up to the satellite.
"I wanted to go into space but not like this." Mega Man said before jumping up onto the EM Road Cygnus Wing made and following him.
Up in outer space, Mega Man found himself on the EM Road that followed the plummeting satellite.
Cringing Mega Man had no idea how he was supposed to stop this.
"Swan Dance!" Turning around Mega Man was met with a fierce kick by Cygnus Wing sending him tumbling down the EM Road.
Looking up, Mega Man saw Cygnus Wing dive down ready to stomp him into paste.
"Battlecard Plasma Cannon!" Firing a powerful electric ball it zapped Cygnus Wing paralyzing him and hurting him as well.
With an opening Mega Man loaded another card.
"Battlecard Long Sword!" Lunging forward Mega Man slashes Cygnus Wing sending him flying back.
Growling Cyngus Wing shook off the pain and glared him down. "You can't stop this Mega Man. Once I destroy Amachi I'll destroy the rest of the Earth and all its horrible, backstabbing monsters." Cygnus Wing said.
"That's not true you don't believe that." Mega Man said.
"Yes, I do!" Cygnus Wing yells flinging feathers at him.
Activating his shield, Mega Man blocks it before Cygnus Wing lunges forward throwing kick after kick but Mega Man blocks with his sword or dodges them.
"Humanity is filled with nothing but traitors who only look out for themselves! That's the true evil in this world! And people like that are everywhere and among the worst of them all is Amachi Mamoru!" Cygnus Wing snaps.
Hearing enough Mega Man ducks under Cygnus Wing's kicks and delivers a powerful slash across the chest. "SHUT UP!" Returning his hand to normal Mega Man delivers a fierce left hook nailing Cygnus Wing in the face and sending him banging against the satellite. "Amachi Mamoru is the nicest man you could ever meet!" Mega Man snaps. "He would never steal someone else's work!"
"Yes he did! I heard him! He claimed he invented my Sky Pack!" Cygnus Wing said.
"He claimed he invented a rocket and booster pack for a launch! When he pointed to your invention, he told those kids how excited he was for you. How he thought that this invention would be your chance to finally get the respect you deserve." Mega Man said as Cygnus Wing hesitated.
"H-He did?" Shinsuke's voice echoed from Cyngus Wing.
"He's not your enemy. He's your friend. And friends help each other to be their best. That's what he was doing for you. That's what he's always been doing. But you because you were so focused on how he might betray you that you never thought he was actually trying to help you." Mega Man said as Cygnus Wing lowered his arms.
"Amachi…was trying to help me." Shinsuke's voice echoed from Cygnus Wing.
"The link is weakening! Now!" Omega Xis yells as Mega Man clicks a battle card on his scanner.
"I know you're in there Shinsuke! And I'm setting you free! Battlecard Fire Bazooka!" As his left arm turned into a volcano-shaped cannon, Mega Man fired a flaming blast that exploded on contact making Cygnus Wing scream in agony. "Now get lost Cygnus!" Mega Man roars firing a big blast that sent Cygnus Wing crashing down to Earth.
Landing just outside the space station, Amachi runs out to see a small-sized crater, but it is just Shinsuke, no more Cygnus Wing.
"Shinsuke!" Gasping Amachi ran out to help him up.
Back up in space, Mega Man stared down the FM-Ian Cygnus.
"You lose now beat it." Mega Man glares.
"Hardly, you think you've won this battle but this is far from over. Cygnus Wing will take flight again but next, you won't be so lucky, Mega Man. You will pay." Cygnus vows before disappearing into EM energy and escaping.
Before Mega Man could react, the satellite began to shake getting his attention.
"Oh no! The Satellite! We gotta stop it!" Mega Man said.
"It's too late for that! It's entered the atmosphere." Omega Xis said.
Looking around frantically, Mega Man realized, if they couldn't stop it then they would just have to change its direction.
Activating the mega buster, he fired causing the satellite to swerve off the path and explode sending all the rubble crashing into the ocean rather than at the space station.
Back down on Earth, we see Amachi help Shinsuke out of the crater just as he regains consciousness.
"You're awake." Amachi smiles.
"I'm sorry. I really am I just…I couldn't let my guard down and I thought you were going to steal my invention." Shinsuke said.
"I would never steal from anyone. Especially a friend." Amachi assures.
"Friends? You and I are friends?" Shinsuke said surprised by this.
"Well I'd like to believe we are." Amachi smiles.
Smiling Shinsuke took his hand.
Nearby Mega Man was watching this with a smile on his face.
"You saved him. You saved everyone. You really did it, kid." Omega Xis said impressed.
"Yeah guess I did." Mega Man smiles softly. "But what about Cygnus?"
"He's still out there but for now at least he won't be using the same human anytime soon. We can use this chance to rest and prepare for the others." Omega Xis said.
"Omega Xis, what did he mean when he brought up the Andromeda Key?"Mega Man asks.
"You don't need to know that. At least not yet." Omega Xis said but Hikaru was not a fan of him constantly avoiding questions. "Besides, don't you have a date to get ready for?"
"Yukana." Mega Man gasps. "Oh man I almost forgot." Taking off, he knew he couldn't blow her off.
As everyone came out of hiding Sena noticed something on the ground.
Bending down to pick it up she saw it was Hikaru's student ID.
'Hikaru Tanaka. Hmm, I better make sure he gets this back. At least this way I can thank him for earlier.' Sena thought remembering how he made sure she got to safety before running off. 'That was the first time a boy my age was so worried about me.' Smiling she put it in her pocket before walking out.
A few hours later, as the sun was going down Hikaru was walking through the city looking for the place Yukana wanted them to meet at.
"Hey, Hikaru!" Looking over he saw Yukana waving at him but to his surprise, she was in front of a karaoke joint.
"Karaoke?" Hikaru gulps.
"Hey there, I was wondering when you would show up," Yukana said.
"So Yukana you like Karaoke?" Hikaru asks.
"Oh yeah, it's totally fun. You'll love it." Yukana said pulling him inside.
"So how long would you like?" The man at the counter asks.
"Um, I'd say about an hour to start off I guess," Yukana suggests.
'Oh man, where's a virus attack when you need one?' Hikaru thought.
"I'm so glad you were available. All my other friends were too busy and I was just dying to sing today." Yukana said.
"I guess I can understand that," Hikaru said as they went into their room.
"So Hikaru what kind of music do you like to sing?" Yukana asks.
"Uh well, I'm not really sure. I'd have to see what they have." Hikaru said.
"Well then do you mind if I go first?" Yukana asks.
"By all means ladies first," Hikaru said making her giggle.
Picking her song, Yukana began to sing to the music. As she danced around to it Hikaru couldn't help but check her out.

"Whoa. She can sing." Hikaru said getting nervous around her.
"Amazing you'll take on Cygnus Wing no problem but with this girl, you're shaking." Omega Xis said making Hikaru cover the watch. Thankfully Yukana couldn't hear him over the music.
"Will you shut up?" Hikaru whispers.
"If you can't sing you should just tell her." Omega Xis said.
"I can sing just fine." Hikaru said.
"Then prove me wrong." Omega Xis challenges.
Seeing that this might be the best way to shut him up Hikaru would pick a song.
So then 'til you reach the end
Aim to overcome your limits
And you will fly! Fly high!
Soar into the distant sky
When she finished Hikaru clapped for her.
"Wow, I didn't know you would sing an anime song," Hikaru said.
"Seriously? That surprises you? I mean almost every kid has watched at least one anime." Yukana points out.
"Hmm true," Hikaru admits.
"Well, now it's your turn. Pick a song and sing it." Yukana insists.
"Ok. Let's see if I can find a good one." Hikaru said looking for them before finding one he knew. "Just try not to laugh too hard."
"I'll try." Yukana giggled as Hikaru grabbed a mic.

Turning around Yukana saw a smile on Hikaru's face as he turned to face her.

As he steps back he slips on a paper and falls backward making Yukana yelp startled.
Groaning he looks to see Yukana looking down at him with a smile.
"Well, that was quite the performance." Yukana giggles helping him.
"Ugh be honest I didn't look that stupid." Hikaru groans.
"Only when you slipped. You were so good. I didn't know you could sing." Yukana said as they sat down on the couch together.
"Oh yeah, my showerhead is really impressive." Hikaru jokes making her giggle.
"I mean it, you were really good," Yukana said.
"Well thank you. I guess when I read those lyrics I felt a little drawn to them." Hikaru admits.
"Hey, how about for the next song we sing a duet?" Yukana suggests.
"Okay. You wanna pick this one?" Hikaru offers.
"Sure." As Yukana scrolls through the two of them had fun singing song after song. Hikaru even got their drinks for when they were tired.
When they were finished, Hikaru looked at Yukana and smiled.
"Ooh, we should sing another one," Yukana suggests.
"That sounds fun. But first I need a drink." Hikaru said.
"Me too." As they both reached out they grabbed the same cup at the same time.
Pausing both turned and saw that their faces were inches from each other's.
"Y-Yukana," Hikaru said wondering what to do in this situation.
"Hikaru…you have something on your cheek." Yukana points.
"Huh?" Reaching up he saw he had some loose eyebrow hair on his face.
Pulling back he was embarrassed by this.
"I'll be right back don't sing another song without me," Yukana said walking out.
The second she closes the door Hikaru groans laying back in his chair.
"Wow, that was sad." Omega Xis said.
"Oh shove it. God, I feel so embarrassed. I can't believe I was about to kiss her." Hikaru said.
"Kiss? What's that?" Omega Xis asks never hearing that word before.
"It's one of the biggest things you can do with someone you love," Hikaru explains.
"So why didn't you?" Omega Xis asks.
"Are you kidding me? We just started dating and for all we know she doesn't even see me that way." Hikaru said covering his face. "I just hope she doesn't think I'm desperate."
Little did Hikaru know that down the hall Yukana was leaning against the wall with a hand over her heart.
'Did Hikaru want to kiss me? You dummy. I'm not like that. You can't just kiss someone so easily.' Yukana thought with a small blush on her face.
When their time was up, Hikaru and Yukana walked out.
"Uh Yukana listen I—" Hikaru said trying to find the right words.
"I had a fun time with you Hikaru. Maybe next time you and I can be karaoke partners." Yukana said changing the subject.
"Oh uh yeah maybe." Hikaru smiles rubbing the back of his head.
As they talked neither of them noticed Ranko watching them from around the corner. With her eyes focused on Hikaru, she narrowed them.
"So that's him," Ranko said before heading off.
Hikaru dealt with one enemy today but many more were just around the corner. The only question is how would he deal with them when they came?
