Earlier in the week, Lola had her last pageant of the season, and the princess demanded that everyone come to the event to show their support.

While eating breakfast that morning,Lana picked at her food. Everyone was talking about Lola's latest pagent.

Losing her appetite, Lana scrapped her bowl of cereal into the trash can and slunk off from the table.

Around her, her siblings and parents went about their business completely oblivious to the dark cloud that hung over Lana.

She passed Lincoln on her way upstairs and the albino stopped her, "Don't forget to be ready on time; Lola's pageant is on a tear and you don't want to be on the receiving end of her wrath."

Lincoln shivered a little, as if to emphasize his point. Lana simply nodded and went about her business. The tomboy opened the door and let out a relieved sigh. At least she was alone.

Lana went over to Hopps' enclosure and picked up her small amphibian friend. "Hey buddy, I'm glad to see you"...

Hopps hopped and jumped happily in Lana's hands. Lana cooed at the frog as she reached into a bag of mealworms and allowed Hopps to eat out of her palm.

Lana giggled at the feel of Hopps tounge rasping against her hand, it almost felt like little fong kisses.

The tomboy went through feeding and spending time with all of her other pets, with a hopp in her overall pocket.

It took almost an hour, but Lana loved each and every one of their pets. She wanted to make sure that they got the best possible care.

In the back of her mind, Lana was racking her brain for any ideas on how to get out of going to Lola's stupid beauty pageant.

Lana hated Lola's beauty pageant with a passion; it was super long, the seats were hard, and they always made Lana's butt hurt.

It wasn't fair, Lola didn't need everyone in attendance. Lana never expected everyone to show up for her junior mechanics competitions, usually she'd get lucky if half of their siblings attended her events.

Feeling overlooked was a familiar sentiment for the tomboy, Lana tried to make herself as useful as possible in the hope that her family would notice and appreciate her.

Lana wasn't a beauty queen like Lola, or a genius like Lisa, she didn't have talent like Lynn, Luan, or Leni. She wasn't the oldest like Lori, nor did she stand out like Lincoln did as the only boy.

Lana was just the tomboy, a title that she once wore with pride...but now it only served to solidify her spot on the sidelines as the gross twin.

What used to make her feel unique and special left a hollow feeling deep inside of Lana. She was getting resentful and it was hard not to take it out on her family.

Why didn't they notice she was so miserable? Did they even care about her?

Lana tried everything, from faking sick to turning back the clock and even hiding when it was time to leave. Lola's rage be damned.

It was all for naught, however, her parents and older siblings all but dragged her into the van. They wouldn't even let her go to the bathroom alone; when Lana tried to sneak off, Luan pointedly followed her, getting in Lana's way.

Lana blew a bored raspberry while the crowd around her was engrossed in the beauty pageant taking place. Lola was already back getting ready. The blonde princess was not amused with Lana's antics.

Lola pulled her to the side when they got to the event center and practically exploded, demanding to know why Lana was sabotaging her event.

"What the heck, Lana! Are you trying to jinx me?" Lola hissed, tossing her hair back.

Lana flinched, honestly hurt " why do you even need me here? It doesn't matter"...

Lola's nostrils flared, and the princess balled her fists, "My pagent is important! That's something you wouldn't understand."

Lola's comment stung, Lana had to fight back the tears that were welling up inside her "my event matters...if it wasn't for me, Vanzilla would have had to retire years ago".

Lola snorted through her teeth, "That doesn't count. All you're good for is doing the gross chores that nobody else wants to do."

Luckily their parents intervened, or else Lana would have have launched herself herself at at Lola.

The judges made their announcements, and the show began. The contestants performed their talents and went about their routines.

When it was finally Lola's turn to take the stage, Lana glowered at her twin. Lola didn't know how it felt to be overlooked and judged for the things she loved.

Just as Lola began her ribbon routine, the blonde dazzled the judges and audience alike. Lola smirked at Lana in the crowd, and in that moment Lana wished Lola bad things.

The ribbon tangled itself around Lola's feet, the fall seemed to happen in slow motion, but that didn't detract from how disastrous it was.

Lola's feet tangled, sending the beauty queen backwards where she got wrapped up in the curtain behind her. The curtain ripped, and Lola hit the floor with a loud thud, while the contestants who were behind the curtain were now out in the open.

It was silent for five minutes before the crowd started laughing, except for the loud family that rushed to help their fallen sister.

Lana was particularly worried; she felt guilty for wishing that something bad would happen to Lola. While they didn't always get along, Lola was her twin, and they had a special bond.

Lynn sr and Rita helped to untangle Lola while the other kids acted as a shield for their fallen sister. Lola was openly sobbing, and her left ankle was twisted in a nasty angle. It was probably broken, if not fractured.

Lincoln knelt down next to Lola in an attempt to console her." Everything is going to be okay".

Together Lincoln and Lynn Jr were able to pull Lola up and into a leaning position, where most of her weight was on Lynn.

Lana stepped up intending on comforting Lola, however as soon as Lana came into view Lola's face darkened.

" YOU! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT", Lola growled.

Lana's gasped while Lola continued to verbally attack her, " you jinxed my performance and ruined my winning streak, I don't want anything else to do with you Lana. You're bad luck"!
