Rita and Lynn rushed in and pulled Lola to the side, blocking her view of Lana. Meanwhile, Lori got the van pulled up to the front door. The loud parents hurriedly ushered the kids out of the event center and quickly drove them to the hospital.

The entire ride echoed in Lola's words throughout Lana's mind. Was this a way out of Lola's stupid beauty pageant?

Lana mulled this over while she waited in the emergency room. If Lola thought she was bad luck than so be it, Lana was tired of being forced to attend her bratty twins events...

The next day, Lana awoke to realize that Lola had moved most of her stuff out of their shared bedroom. Although Lola's ankle wasn't broken, she had a bad sprain, so her parents insisted that she not use the stairs. In the meantime, Lola took over the living room.

Even after apologizing, Lola still remained icy, so Lana decided to ignore her for the time being. While on her way to walk, Charles Leni stopped her.

The teenager had an excited smile on her face: "Hey Lana, would you like to come to my styling contest?"

Before Lana could answer, Lola let out an acrid laugh from the living room. "Don't bring her to your event unless you want to end up like me. She's bad luck."

Lana almost denied the claim, but then thought about it. Leni's fashion contests were kinda boring, and Lana desperately needed some time to recharge after recent events.

Lana shrugged and made a worried face. "Lola's probably right, Leni. I'd hate for anything bad to happen at your contest."

Leni gasped, but quickly backtracked. "On second thought, I think it's best if you don't come, Lana. I don't want anyone to actually break a leg."

The tomboy grinned as Leni went off in the opposite direction. She used the afternoon to walk Charles. Lana stopped at a dog park and they spent the next couple of hours just running and playing.

By the time Lana got home, Leni's event had been over for some time, and the family was talking about Luan's latest comedy gig while having dinner.

Despite being gone for most of the day, nobody asked Lana where she had been or what she had been doing. A trend that was starting to bother the tomboy, no one seemed to even notice she wasn't at the event with them...

Plates and dishes clanked as they were passed around the table. Luan turned to hand Lana the peas with a grin.

"You're going to be at my next gig, right?"

Pouting, Lana remembered her lie from earlier. "I don't know, Luan. You wouldn't want me to ruin your routine."

The table erupted into chaos as one by one, everyone simultaneously banned Lana from all their upcoming games and events.

Lana basked in her win, maybe her family would notice her absence now. If not, this would definitely give her some much-needed alone time.

The next day Lana had the house to herself, while her family was off at their various games and events. The tomboy, began her morning by drinking milk straight out of the jug.

Following an impromptu dance party with all the pets, Lana got to play with all her furry friends. Afterwards, Lana made lunch for everyone and cleaned up.

By the time sun set Lana sat dejected at the dinner table, her family still wasn't back yet and Lana wasn't sure when they would be home.

Scrounging for something easy to cook, Lana settled for a granola bar and curled up in bed next to Charles. Hot tears trailed down her cheeks, as bitter thoughts plagued Lana's mind.

Did they even miss her?

The next day was more of the same, with the exception of school. Lana woke up late, and Lori sped off when she tried to get into the van.

Lana practically ran to school, before she realized that she had forgotten her lunch in her haste to leave. During lunchtime, her stomach ached terribly, growling embarrassingly.

Throughout the day, Lola, along with Lisa ignored her, while Lincoln ran every time he saw Lana.

It was infuriating, and Lana's feelings were starting to get hurt. The lie had taken on a life of its own, and she was getting tired of being treated like this...
