Shackled Wind Chapter 2: The Sweetest Baleful Bastard You'll ever meet,

Hinata smiled she was winning but strangely Yakumo seemed more enthusiastic than she was about it, "Here's your rent for Mayfair Hinata," Yakumo giggled,

This made her uncomfortable though, nobody, not even her father or Uncle liked losing especially not at Monopoly when her uncle had brought it round on 'Family game night,' But Yakumo just giggled and laughed and cheered,

"Your turn Hinata," Yakumo said handing her the dice, "Maybe you'll get out of Jail this turn," For the second time Hinata failed to roll a double and again Yakumo cheered, "Good I was worried you were going to land on my properties then, but you're still safe," her face darkened "Not from her though,"

"Her?" Hinata asked politely, "Who is her?"

Yakumo's face soured "Doesn't matter,"

"But if you want to keep me safe isn't the best way to explain the danger, I'm in?" Hinata asked trying to probe Yakumo for information,

"You'd never believe me, I wouldn't have either,"

"It's why you're keeping the others from me isn't it?" Hinata asked,

"Not all of them," Yakumo said, "Your uncle and cousin might try something but not if they know your safe," Yakumo stated, "The Masked woman might try to hurt me, she seemed to know Her after all,"

"What about my sister?"

"Well originally I thought she might hurt me, but I think this house scares her, but she's distracting the Orange one,"

Hinata's heart fluttered, her cheeks flushed, only one person in the leaf wore that colour outside of the S.C.F. "Wh-who are you talking about?"

"He's blonde, has three whisker marks on his cheeks and handcuffs," Yakumo described absentmindedly,

Even the Lacklustre description of her crush make her swoon, oh yes, she had a case of hero worship, and it was bad,

"I'd love to thank him for bringing you and Her To me, but I think he wants to beat me up," Yakumo said with a frown,

"I mean he's just trying to avenge someone," Hinata defended, but she did so nervously, there were three female's that Yakumo could be referring to as Her, Kurenai, the Anbu member who was chasing Naruto, and Hanabi, and Yakumo just basically told her She wasn't the masked anbu, or her little sister, thus she asked, "Is Kurenai who you're afraid of?"

Yakumo flinched, her eyes were wide, her jaw clenched, and she seemed to shake,

Hinata leaned away from her until Yakumo stopped and narrowed her eyes, "I helped you figure it out, didn't I?" Hinata nodded and Yakumo sighed, "Very well," she steepled her fingers, "Let's talk about Kurenai Yuhi,"

Yakumo reached into her worn Kimono and pulled out a picture, "Life here wasn't always so dull," she started looking at the picture, "In fact it used to be fun," she turned the picture around and showed Hinata it, it depicted a younger and happier Yakumo cheering as Kurenai held her tightly, a woman Hinata had before seen stood in the background a large smile on her face as well, "I used to be a daughter and a little sister," she practically growled, "But that all changed because of Kurenai's lack of optimism, you see I trained to be a great ninja who only used Genjutsu, I wanted to protect my home village, the place I was born," Yakumo said passionately, "Especially that first one because out of the big three arts Genjutsu seemed really overlooked and underused," she smiled,

"But...," and with that one word all joy was gone, not just Yakumo's, but even Hinata herself felt only numb, "I was born with a condition that made my bones weak," she explained, "Kurenai wanted to prevent me from dying out there in the field," Yakumo sighed, "But Hinata as I'm sure you already know since you aren't four," she forced a smile,

"EVERYBODY FUCKING DIES!" she screamed hitting the table, Yakumo's eyes were wide as her arm twisted back, she stifled the scream, and shut her eyes tightly as she held her now broken wrist, she choked on her own sobs as Hinata panicked unsure of what to do,

It took some time, but Yakumo calmed herself and said, "Now I live alone, my mother was so ashamed of what she and Kurenai did that she took her own life, and I was left alone," she stated staring at her broken arm, "They took away my ability to fight for my dream, and then they both left me,"

"B-but Kuren-,"

"Kurenai thinks she saved me from dying in a ditch, alone, scared, angry," Yakumo growled, "But here I am, alone in my clan's manor, scared that I'll never be part of the world, angry at having everything I wanted torn from me, while Kurenai smiles, goes on missions, lives happily with her best friend Anko, going on dates with her loving boyfriend, and dreams of being a mother,"

Hinata was pale, "How? -,"

Yakumo giggled, her personality shifting entirely, "Because dear Hinata, I haven't exactly been completely alone," Yakumo answered, "In the woods surrounding the Hidden Leaf lives a monster besides myself, I call her the Beast Mother, and she's been helping me keep tabs on Kurenai for all these years, telling me how happy she's been and what she's been doing," Yakumo produced a beautiful looking bow and held it in her hand,

Hinata gasped as it was aimed at her, then Yakumo pulled back the string and a purple arrow formed in the draw string, the tip looked like a cracked heart, the shaft was obsidian black and looked mangled and twisted,

"By the way I appreciate the help Hinata," Yakumo said, "I really do,"

The arrow pierced Hinata's chest and she yelped in pain, but none came, in fact nothing changed until she watched the arrow fade into her chest,

From Yakumo's point of view Hinata's pale lavender eyes turned deep purple, and a scowl marred her normally kind features, "Urgh, don't worry, I'll teach that know nothing bitch for what she did to you," She stated as she stomped over to the door and tried to open it, "Hey what gives? this stupid door won't open,"

"Yes," Yakumo said walking over to her, "I thought that It would be best if were with you Hinata, so that heartless whore didn't try to harm you,"

"Whatever," Hinata groaned, "Just lemme at her stupid whore-slut face and I'll make sure no guy even looks at her again," she said cracking her knuckles,

"Good but first allow me to fix the game," Yakumo shut her eyes and found everyone else, she felt the escaped convict's aggression and self-loathing, the youngest Hyuga's fear and uncertainty, the eldest Hyuga worry, but she couldn't feel anything from the others, except Kurenai who was a beacon of negative emotions, anger, sorrow, panic, guilt, fear, and self-loathing,

Yakumo gave a sick grin, "I'll lure Kurenai to the foyer, and the others I'll keep busy," she said,

"Fine," Hinata growled impatiently, crossing her arms,

Naruto continued holding Hanabi's hand as they walked through the manor's halls, "So Kurenai trained her, eh?" he asked,

Hanabi nodded, "Maybe that's why they might be together? it's possible she has a grudge against Hinata for taking her teacher,"

Naruto rubbed his chin, was it possible? yes, but the method was off, he knew people who were obsessive creeps in prison, the general strategy he gleamed was, separate target of affection from person who takes their time, kill that person, then when target of affection is feeling sad become someone they can lean on,

While that seemed similar to what Yakumo was doing it wasn't dead on, yes Yakumo had separated Hinata and Kurenai, but unless Kurenai was really dumb or deluded she'd know who killed her, then she wouldn't let Yakumo cosy up to her as if nothing happened, next was the fact that they were all lured here at the same time, which was bothering him how'd the Hyuga know the right place to search in the forest?,

What about the mountain climbers injures? was everything here a set up for Yakumo to murder someone? was even Naruto being here a small part of a much larger plan?

And why did the Hyuga have a record of someone not in their clan? and why was the only thing on the record basic facts about them and who their teacher was?

Eventually he let out a breath "This is starting to sound like some of the crappy books they have in prison," he groaned as they walked throughout the halls,

Then he stopped, "Naruto? is something wrong?" Hanabi asked, Hinata was in front of them crouched over a person, "Sister?"

'Hinata' turned around and it was quickly obvious it wasn't Hinata, Hanabi shrieked as she saw the fake Hinata's mouth, the skin that usually covered a person's teeth was gone, in its place were jagged beastlike fangs that more so resembled stalactites then teeth, stranger still her lips were still there but they were dripping with blood and flesh,

Hanabi fainted, Naruto was quick to catch her and put her on his back, "What? does my sweet little sister think I'm not pretty anymore?" she asked mockingly, "Or maybe she's scared of this new craving I've got," she said running a disturbingly long tongue over her lips and teeth as she looked him over, "And since we're talking about my cravings you look good enough to eat," she said taking her coat off, underneath was a skimpy outfit partially because she had what looked like bones sticking out from her skin that tore through part of her clothes,

Naruto gently laid Hanabi on the floor then he put one of his legs in front of her, as he stood over her, he raised his fists and said, "Careful I might rot your teeth," he said,

The fake Hinata put her foot on the person she'd been eating and somehow lifted it with her foot before she tossed it at him,

Naruto gritted his teeth as Hiruzen Sarutobi's corpse flew through the air toward him, Naruto pressed his hand to his palm, as the body got in range his arm twitched, "Criminal Upper," he said striking the fakes chin and made a small tornado that launched the body through the roof,

"ARRGH!" The fake Hinata screamed as the tornado tore through her skin,

Naruto raised up the leg he had behind the unconscious Hanabi, and kicked her hard right in the stomach knocking her back, she rolled back her claw like nails tearing through the floor,

Naruto placed his foot back down with a smirk, "Guess you bit off more then you could chew eh fang-face?"

She growled "I can't wait to tear off your face!"

Naruto threw a few quick jabs and said, "Then come and do it Sunshine,"

The fake Hinata jumped onto the wall and screamed as she ran on all fours toward him, leaping from the wall on the left to the wall on the right from time to time, before lunging toward him, "DIE,"

Naruto slid his hand into his right pocket, as she was an inch in front of him, he brought his kunai knife out of his pocket and raised it making the fake Hinata's eyes widen as her neck pressed against the tip of the knife, she screamed in pain as she began to slide onto the knife, Naruto dropped the handle and quickly brought his wrench down on her skull which he dropped again and pulled out his pipe, "Four!," Naruto grinned swinging it like a golf club knocking the knife out of her neck and her into the air,

Naruto quickly found some stones on the floor and tossed them into the air before throwing them at the airborne fake Hinata, as they struck her Naruto grabbed his discarded weapons and stuffed both the wrench and the pipe down his shirt, but he caught the knife and took a stance with it, after watching her for a while and not seeing her move, he crouched down and picked Hanabi up, and aimed the knife at the downed fake Hinata as he walked past her,

He didn't turn away from her until his back pressed against a door, he put his knife away and grabbed the handle, he turned it and left the room,

Then as he turned, he found he was now outside, "Right illusion's," he groaned, he tried reaching for the door handle again, but his hand found someone else's arm,

Naruto rolled forward taking care not to hurt Hanabi as he did, he turned back fists at the ready and staring back at him was someone he'd never seen before in his life, of course it was easy to make that distinction when the person he saw had red fur covering her legs and clawed feet, her clawed fingers and hands, and there was fur sticking out from underneath the torn ragged dress she wore, behind her were three fluffy red tails and upon her head were fox-like ears,

Naruto stared into her slitted magenta eyes and saw shock and confusion,

"Who are you?" he asked,

"I don't know," she responded, "Why do you make me sad?"

Naruto raised an eyebrow at her, "What?" he asked, "What do you mean?"

"When I look at you, I feel sad," she stated solemnly,

The two just stared at each other before the woman's head snapped off into the distance, "Are you playing with Yakumo?"

"Something like that," Naruto said,

The woman vanished and reappeared in front of him, "She doesn't like it when you let her win, here," And pressed her lips to his head,

Naruto groaned as chakra was pushed into his head, "I have to go now, play nice or I'll tear your spine out," then she vanished,

Naruto blinked, 'Weird,' he thought as he could see the forest around him, but it was like he was seeing double, but it was a little off, stranger still he could see the house's door in front of him, and not too far from where he'd rolled away was a hole in the wall, 'Guess that was the ''door'' I left through,'

To his surprise however the front doors were still on their hinges, 'So I was already in the illusion by then,'

A scream broke him from his thoughts, and he charged inside the compound's foyer,

Some ebony haired lady wrapped in bandages was kneeling on the floor, and across from her was Hinata and a brown-haired girl he'd never met, all three turned to him,

"You!" the lady said with a glare,

"It's Naruto," Hinata said with a smile, "And he has Hanabi,"

Yakumo nodded, "So that's the one, eh?" She asked nudging Hinata, "He's pretty cute,"

"D-do I have to fight him too?" Hinata asked,

Yakumo shook her head, "No, he can't even see us, he's still wandering around in the mansion in his mind,"

Hinata let out a breath, "That's good," she said, then she glared at Kurenai, "Alright bitch, it's time for you to get what's coming to you,"

Kurenai tried to stand up, but dropped to her knees again, "Yakumo I'm sorry for what I did," she said, "But Hinata's not part of this, let her go,"

Hinata looked like she was about to take Kurenai's head off, but Yakumo's arm stopped her, "I'm sorry?" she asked, "You think after everything you've done to me an apology is going to help? that it's going to fix everything?" she raised a finger and released the Genjutsu on herself,

Naruto's eyes narrowed as he saw her body, she was weak, malnourished, she had bags under her eyes, and she was filthy,

"See all your ''help'' has done for me?" Yakumo asked, "The only thing I wanted was to prove that Genjutsu was amazing, and you tore that dream away from me, my family is gone, it abandoned me and the leaf after my mother killed herself, all because you wouldn't let me live,"

"Out there isn't a nice place Yakumo," Kurenai stated, "I did what I did to keep you away from it, to keep you safe,"

"And then you abandoned me," Yakumo stated, "You left me here alone to rot, so tell me Kurenai what life did you leave for me, while you on the other hand had the time of your life," Yakumo asked as she cradled her arm, "Hinata, beat her a little more,"

"Of course, Yakumo," Hinata said cracking her knuckles, "I'd be glad to," then she dashed forward and prepared to strike Kurenai with her palm, but was interrupted when Naruto slid in front of her and grabbed Hinata's outstretched palm,

"You shouldn't crack your knuckles," he stated, "It'll give you arthritis," Hinata leaped back, and Naruto laid Hanabi in front of Kurenai,

"How did he see me?" Hinata asked,

"I'm not sure," Yakumo stated,

"Hey you're Yakumo right?" Naruto asked the brown-haired girl, she nodded, "Let Hinata go," he said, "If what you're saying about bandage girl here," he said gesturing to Kurenai behind his back, "Then I think you have every right to get your revenge, but Hinata isn't the type of person who could brush off what you've already made her do, so if you go any further using her as a weapon I'll have to hurt you a lot,"

"Hurt me?" she asked, "You don't know the meaning of the word," then she grinned and the world around Naruto and Kurenai vanished,

When Kurenai woke up, she found herself in a large house, "Where am I?" she heard something coming from the kitchen and followed it, what she found made her smile,

Inside the kitchen was a large family, mostly kids who looked like her and Asuma, as she stepped into the room, they turned to her and smiled back, "Mums up," they cheered each making their own demands for breakfast,

Yakumo scoffed, "Real mother of the year you are Kurenai," she said bitterly, "Wonder what they'd say if they knew what you've done,"

Yakumo grinned as the dream turned into a nightmare as Kurenai was now covered in the blood of the people she'd killed and the rooms were filled with the skeletons of said people each who told the kids what she'd done to them,

"That's better," she said hearing their screams, "Now what about the other one?"

She found Naruto standing over a crying baby wrapped in cloth,

"Hand over the child," a warrior looking man asked, "It's a heathen to our country and must be killed," he said drawing his sword,

"Make me," Naruto said putting his fists up, a fight ensued that simply had the man outclassing Naruto in every way except speed, but Naruto was losing his ground,

"ENOUGH!" the warrior shouted and knocked the blonde away before dashing towards the still crying baby, and Yakumo's eyes went wide as Naruto dashed in front of him and took the sword through his gut but protected the baby,

"NARUTO!" a voice cried the warrior was engulphed in a large fireball, and Hiruzen appeared, "Are you alright?"

The blonde grinned and shook his head, "Nah, I'm dying," he said, "But this little one will make it," he said,

Yakumo grew confused as she watched the nurse took the baby and healed it while Naruto lay bleeding to death,

"Hey, looks like I was good for something after all eh Sarutobi?" Naruto said, then he took one last breath and died,

"What?" Yakumo asked herself, "He died?" she asked, she shook her head, 'Must've been a nightmare by accident,' she thought and put him back under the Genjutsu, and watched as he was hung by a rebellion for not telling them where Sarutobi was, had his neck snapped by a superior opponent, was burned alive, tossed in the ocean, each time she put him under the Genjutsu he died,

And the shock she felt broke her focus, and with it the Genjutsu,

Yakumo curled up as the mansion and everyone in it was broken from her Genjutsu,

When Naruto stood up, she stared at him, she had to know, "How?" she asked looking at him, "How did you do that?"

He turned to her, and she saw nothing in his eyes as he spoke, "I didn't do anything," he said walking over to her, she froze when he did, he dropped to a knee, then he wrapped his arms around her, "Come on pal," he said picking her up bridal style, "Let's go,"

"G-go?" she asked, "Go where?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Home,"
