The Yeager Family-such as Kid Eren Yeager, Carla Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman were walking around the refugee camp to see many upset and depressed people begging for food and sleeping on the cold hard ground. They were currently inside of a lively mob. Kid Eren and Mikasa held Carla's hands so they wouldn't get lost. Kid Eren saw some men sitting next to a wall-filled with nothing but emptiness in their eyes. As if those people had lost everything.
Armin Arlert was with his grandfather. He had to be with his grandfather.
Mikasa Ackerman saw a family of three from three o'clock. A tall man, his wife and a little girl. The man was begging for food from a Garrison soldier, but was being denied it. This made Mikasa think back when her parents were still alive. Just before... All she could think of is how cruel the world is. 'The world is a cruel place?'
Carla had led the walk as she held both Eren and Mikasa's hands. She had seen many depressed people within the camp, but has yet to find her own husband. Until...
"C-Carla?"
Carla had gasped when she heard a masculine voice come from her right. Four o'clock. She had stopped for a second. 'That voice... could it-'
"Carla! Over here!"
Carla heard the voice, again.
"Mom, look!" Kid Eren had pointed to his right. "It's-"
Carla Yeager had then quickly shifted her head to the right to see a certain person within the mob. She had seen her husband, Grisha Yeager just miles from where she and her kids were standing. Her eyes had widened and she had begun to tear up. "Grisha..."
"Eren! Carla! Mikasa! You're all alive!" Grisha had cried from a distance as he had found his family taking refuge within a refugee camp.
"Dad!" Kid Eren had cried as he then let go of Carla's hand and ran toward Grisha.
"Doctor Yeager!" Mikasa had chanted a she followed after Kid Eren as he had ran toward Grisha through the mob.
"Eren! Mikasa!" Carla had called as she watched them run through a lively mob. She was worried. She saw the lively mob all around her-so she tried her best to excuse herself as she had tried to pass through. She felt some nudges and shoves as she passed through the lively mob. But after one minute and a half, she had caught up with her husband, whom was kneeling and hugging both Kid Eren and Mikasa.
"You're okay, dad!" Kid Eren said, feeling relieved.
"I'm happy that you all made it safe and sound..." Grisha had teared up in relief. He then looked up to see his wife, Carla Yeager who stood and stared at him in relief.
"Grisha..." Carla had muttered.
Grisha had let go of Kid Eren and Mikasa and then stood and faced his wife. "Carla..."
The married couple had then embraced each other. Both lovingly and in relief.
"I missed you the most, Carla..." Grisha muttered.
"We all missed you, too." Carla said as she hugged Grisha.
"I came back as soon as I heard that the walls had been attacked." Grisha had told Carla.
"We all made it out of Wall Maria safe and soundly..." Carla had said.
Kid Eren and Mikasa had just stared as Grisha and Carla had talked to each other.
"I have urgent news to tell you, Carla. Tomorrow, I'm going to leave for Wall Maria." Grisha had informed his wife, Carla.
Carla had gasped, shockingly. "Grisha! You can't... The Titans are-"
"Yes. I understand that the Titans have breached the Shiganshina walls... but don't worry. I'm a doctor. And my job as a doctor is to save whomever I can." Grisha had told Carla with a look of determination. "And besides... I have some relatives that live within Wall Maria as we speak."
"R-Relatives?" Carla had gasped, surprisingly. "You never told me that you had any relatives, Grisha." Carla had replied.
"I know. And I'm sorry for keeping it a secret from you. But, they need my help, as well." Grisha had apologized.
"Dad?" Kid Eren had called.
Grisha had then turned to his young son, whom was staring at him, confusingly. "Eren." He then kneedled in front of Eren. "I know I had just arrived... but I'm going to be leaving for Shiganshina. Starting tomorrow." Grisha told his son.
"Then, let me go with you, dad!" Kid Eren asked.
Grisha shook his head no. "I'm afraid that I can't."
"But, why dad?" Kid Eren asked in confusion.
"Because... you're still too small and too young to be thinking about gambling with your life." Grisha had told his young son, Eren.
As Mikasa watched Grisha and Eren talk... she could not help but think of the conversation that they had on the night Mikasa was kidnapped.
"I need you to stay here and watch over Mikasa and your mother. Understand?" Grisha asked while placing his hands on Eren's shoulders.
Kid Eren had frowned. "Alright, dad."
"Good." Grisha had then took his hands off of Kid Eren's shoulders and turned Carla. "Carla. As soon as I find my relatives, I promise that I will return and find you."
"Okay." Carla said, then hugged Grisha and kissed him on his right cheek.
Meanwhile...
Adult Eren Yeager and Dina Fritz Yeager were currently standing on top of the Shiganshina's inner gate wall. They stared at the lands below in the direction of Wall Maria. There was a bit of a breeze. Eren had worn his casual outfit, while Dina had still worn a black night gown and wrapped a red blanket over her shoulders. Eren stood on Dina's right.
"Wow. This view is delightful." Dina said as she smiled and stared at Wall Maria.
"Yeah." Eren had nodded.
"You know... the last time I was on top of a wall was when I had last seen Grisha, before..." Dina said as she had then thought of the moment when she had turned into a pure Titan.
"I know." Adult Eren said.
"It's hard to believe that I'm going to finally meet my husband again after all these years. Even after learning that he's moved on, I still love him." Dina had smiled. She tried not to cry.
Eren saw the bubbly tears within Dina's eyes. He knew she was trying to stop herself from crying. He sighed to himself, then moved close to Dina to where he placed his left hand on Dina's right shoulder. "Listen. I know my dad had kept a lot of secrets during his life... But, I'm sure that if he knew that you were still alive, then he probably wouldn't have moved onto my mom. Believe me when I say that dad still loves you."
Dina had sniffled a bit. "Thank you, Eric."
"Eren." Adult Eren had corrected Dina.
"Eren. Sorry." Dina had apologized.
"So, uh... I never asked you this, earlier... but, what do I call you?" Adult Eren had asked.
Dina gave Adult Eren a kind smile. "You can call me, "mother."
Adult Eren had given Dina a calm and relaxing smile. "Thanks. Mother." He said as he hugged Dina from behind. Wrapping his left arm around Dina's left shoulder and placing his right hand on Dina's right shoulder. The side of their heads had connected.
