Brisbane Hospital:
Chilli wakes up from her sleep and still in pain from the accident. She start to yawn but then coughs. Then the nurse walks in. "Good Mornin Chilli, how are we doing today?" Nurse Greyhound said walking into room but there was no response from Chilli as she had a blank look on her face still in denial. "Don't really feel like talking, huh? It's okay, Sometimes our patients don't really feel like talking. Nurse Greyhound changing Chilli's IV. "Okay, that should do it. I'll just gonna head out to get you some brekkie, Okay?" Nurse Greyhound said leaving the room. Chilli lays quietly on her hospital bed. Her stomach rumbling as her legs shake and her tail curled up. Her heart rate raises higher in the monitor as she turns to her side curls herself in a fetal position.
Flashback:
Chilli was 7 years old and was learning how to ride a bicycle without training wheels as her mother watches. She struggles trying to keep her balance and falls over and gets up out of frustration. "I can't do it! Why do people make riding a bike so easy! Young Chilli said yelling in anger getting ready to give up. Then her mother walk up to her frustrated daughter. "You know I was in the exact position as you was I was your age. Chilli's mother said coming to her daughter's level. "Really?" Young Chilli said. "Yes, I had a hard time learning myself but then I realized that i needed to get back up and keep trying. And I know that deep down you want to do the same. Chilli's Mother said boosting up her daughter confidence. "I guess could try one more time."
Chilli then grabs her bike and begins to paddle keeping her balance and eventually she finally gets the hang of it. "Look Mum! I'm doing it! I'm doing it!" Chilli yelled in excitement as she finally learns how to ride a bike without training wheels for the first time. She then turns around and stops the bike and her mother proudly run to her daughter and gives her a big hug. "See! I told you could do it and it's just like I said.
Just Don't Ever Give Up, Chilli.
End of Flashback
The nurse arrives in the room to give Chilli her breakfast. "Okay, Here ya go mate. Nurse Greyhound said setting the food on the table next to Chilli still laying in a fetal position. "Let me know if you need anything, Okay?" Nurse Greyhound then walks out of the room. Chilli then sits up and grabs to food her hand instead of the spoon. She tries taking a bite and suddenly feels a sharp pain in her chest. She grips on her chest in pain as and lays on her back. She then tries to reach the remote which was sitting in the table and tries to call for help but the remote falls to the floor. She groans in pure agony and begins to tear up. She grabs on to the handle of the bed. She breaths heavily but begins to coughs again. Then the pain starts to going down as Chilli lets out a loud groaning sound in relief.
Later that day:
It was almost time for surgery and Brandy, Bluey, and Bingo make to the hospital to see Chilli before surgery starts. They walk up to a female Pomeranian behind the counter to visit Chilli before surgery starts.
"I hope mum is doing okay today she looked really scared yesterday." Bluey said as she walks with her Aunt Brandy along side Bingo. "I'm sure she's doing better now and I'm that the surgery will go well." Brandy as she opens the door to Chilli's room. Brandy and the girls walk in to see Chilli laying her back on the bed with her hand on her chest and turns her head to see that her older sister and the girl stopped by. "Hey Chilli." Brandy said with a soft tone as she walk toward her sister. "Hi Mum" Bluey and Bingo said to their mother but there was no response. "Bandit wanted me to tell you that no matter what happens he hope your surgery goes perfectly and that he wishes he was here to be by you side. Brandy said petting her sister's should. Then Chilli coughs. "Shhhh. Just take a nice deep breath sis. It's gonna be okay?" Brandy said comforting her little sister. Chilli then holds on to Brandy hand. "I'm so sorry I dragged you and girls in to this. Its all my fault." Chilli said tearing up. "Hey, you don't have to be sorry, Chilli. It wasn't your fault. You were just having an mental breakdown it happens" Brandy said reassuring that this wasn't Chilli fault.
"Knock, Knock"
"I'm sorry to interrupt you ladies but it time for the surgery. Dr. Shepherd said as it was to for Chilli's heart surgery.
Operating Room
Chilli was laying on the operating table tied down as Dr. Shepherd sticks a needle in Chilli's arm and she falls asleep. "Okay, The patient is now under anesthesia." Dr Shepherd preparing himself for the surgery to begin.
"Wait, What's going on? Why can I still hear them talking? Shouldn't I be in a deep sleep? Chilli said in her mind wondering why she can still hear the doctor and could feel him touching her chest.
"Right, Can you pass my the scalpel?" Dr Shepherd said asking the nurse to give him a scalpel.
"NO! WAIT! DON'T START! I'M STILL AWAKE! I'M STILL AWAKE! Chilli screamed in her head unable to move or talk as her body was paralyzed.
"Okay, Let's Begin." Dr Shepherd cutting through Chilli chest.
"NOOO!!!! STOOOP!!!! I'M STILL AWAKE!!!! THIS HURTS SO MUCH!!!! PLEASE STOOOP!!!! Chilli screamed but at this point there was nothing she could do to make the doctor stop. All she could do was just lay there.
Then Dr Shepherd then holding Chilli's skin with some forceps and begins to cut open the breast bone exposing the heart.
"PLEASE SOMEBODY MAKE IT STOP!!!! MAMA!!!!MAMA!!!! Chilli said screaming and crying for her mother.
Chilli's life then flashes before her eyes. Memories like how she met Bandit, How her mother passed away, How she miscarried, and how she gave birth to her daughters and how much fun they would spend together. Even when there were times where she didn't felt like playing but was willing to play anyways to make her children happy.
"SOMEBODY PLEASE KILL ME PLEASE!!!!! I WANNA DIE!!!! I WANNA DIE!!!!" Chilli screamed as she starts to sweat and couldn't take the torture anymore. At this point, She would rather be dead then to ever take more of this hell.
Several Hours Later:
Dr. Shepherd walks to Brandy and the girls who were sitting in the waiting room. Brandy then sees Dr. Shepherd approach her. "Well, the surgery was a success." Dr. Shepherd said as Brandy and girls very happy. "You guys want to come and see her?"
Dr. Shepherd takes Brandy and the girl in Chilli's hospital room. He opens the door to let them in. Chilli was sweating and appeared to be in shock. She laying on the hospital bed and had an oxygen tube in her mouth and had cardiac wirings on her chest and had staples in her chest. Brandy and the girls slowly walk up to Chilli. "Hey Chilli, Your doing Okay?" Brandy said in a soft tone sitting on the chair she sat earlier. Chilli looks to her left to see her sister and her daughters as she sheds a tears from her eyes not responding. "Aw Chilli." Brandy said as she grabs some tissues from the tissue box to wipe the tears from her eyes. "Why is she crying?" Bluey said curious is to why her mother was crying. "It's probably just from the stress." Brandy said wiping the tears off of her sister's face not realizing that her sister wasn't crying from stress but was crying because what she went through during surgery having to be awake the whole time and feel everything. "It's Okay Chilli, Just relax, Okay, It's gonna be okay." Brandy said holding her sister's hand comforting her.
Chilli then looks down at her stitches on her chest and puts her hand on her stomach as it starts rumbling even louder. Brandy and the girls start to chuckle after hearing Chilli's stomach. "I think she might be hungry." Bluey said smiling. "Yeah, I think so too." Brandy responded. Then Trixie and her daughters Muffin and Sock come in. "Hey Brandy, Hey Girls." Trixie said walking towards Brandy and the girls. "Hi, Aunt Trixie!" Both Bluey and Bingo said excited to see their aunt. "Hi Guys!" Muffin said run towards her cousins Bluey and Bingo. "Hi Aunt Chiwi!!!" Muffin yelled even louder hurting everyone's ears. "Muffy, Keep your voice down, Your Aunt just got out of surgery, Hon." Trixie said to Muffin wanting to quiet down while holding Socks in her arms. "Hey, Trixie" Brandy said giving Trixie a hug. "So how the surgery went?" Trixie said asking about Chilli surgery.
"Well, The Doctor said it was a success. But Chilli hasn't been do good after the surgery. She looks pretty traumatized as if something bad happened during her surgery." Brandy said explaining that even though surgery was successful, Chilli looked very traumatized. "Oh, I'm pretty sure it just stress. I mean, it's not like she was awake the whole time during the operation." Trixie replied which made Brandy very uncomfortable. Was her sister really awake the whole time? Was that the reason why Chilli is so traumatized?
"Hey There Chilli, Ya doing okay, mate?" Trixie said in a soft tone as she went to comfort Chilli. "Hi Aunt Chiwi." Sock said waving at her aunt. Then Chilli reaches both her arms wanting to hold Socks. "I think she wants to hold Socks, Trixie." Brandy said noticing her little sister wanting to hold her younger niece. "Uh, Are you sure Chilli? I mean you just out of your surgery?" Trixie said not quite sure if it would be okay to hand her daughter to Chilli. After all, She just did got out of heart surgery. Chilli then nods her head. "Well, Okay Then." Trixie said as she hands her daughter over to Chilli. Chilli holds her niece in her arms and has her sit on her lap. Socks then gives Chilli a hug and looks at the staples attached to Chilli's chest then lays her head onto her chest listening her heartbeat. "Aww, That's so cute." Brandy said watching Socks listening to her sister's heartbeat.
"How are things doing in here?" Dr. Shepherd said walk into the room. Chilli's eyes widened as she was terrified of the doctor who tortured her on that operating table. "Just here to check on Chilli." Dr. Shepherd said walking towards Chilli who was breathing heavily in pure terror. "Alright just relax for me, Okay?" Dr. Shepherd said as he uses his stethoscope to listen to Chilli's heart. "Okay, everything seems normal. Now I just need to stick this needle into she chest." Dr Shepherd grabs the syringe which causes Chilli to breathe even faster and her heart going even higher.
"Now Chilli, I need you to relax for me, Okay" Dr. Shepherd said trying to get Chilli to calm down.
"Chilli It's Okay, Look at me, Look at me." Brandy said hold on to her little sister's hand. Chilli then turns her head to look at Brandy. "It's Okay, I'm here for you sis."
Dr. Shepherd sticks the syringe in Chilli's chest causing her to moaning loudly despite having the oxygen tube taped down her throat unable to actually scream. Trixie then quickly grabs her daughter holding her in her arms. Chilli then bends her legs in and curls up her tail in severe pain as she kept moaning. Dr. Shepherd then takes the syringe out of Chilli's chest.
Chilli eyes start to roll back as Brandy rubs her shoulder. Chilli then starts to relax herself and her stomach starts making the loudest rumble it had ever made. "Woah, That was a big one." Brandy said chuckling at how loud her sister's stomach was compared to the first one. "Yeah, it sounded like a bear." Bluey said as her and Bingo chuckled.
"Okay, that should it. Let you know if you guys need anything." Dr. Shepherd said walking out of the room. "Thanks Doctor." Brandy said thanking Dr. Shepherd. Chilli's stomach begins to rumble loudly again as Brandy and the girls start chuckling.
"Okay, I think I better head home I gotta prepare dinner for Stripe." Trixie said as it was nearly time to go home for dinner. "Bye Chilli, I'm see you when you get out okay. Come on, Muffy we gotta go." Trixie as she and Muffin leave get ready to leave the room.
"Bye Aunt Chiwi!!!" Muffin screamed
"Shhhh! Muffy!
"Sowy Mum."
"Yeah, We better get going too. It's getting late." Brandy said as it was time for her and the girls to go home. "Okay Chilli, I see you tomorrow, Okay?" Brandy then give her sister a kiss on her forehead. "Bye Mum." Bluey and Bingo said to their mother as they leave the room with their Aunt.
Chilli then turns herself to her side. Traumatized by what she went through during her surgery. Her Stomach rumbles as her legs start to shake again. "I gotta get out of here, I gotta get out of here." Chilli said in her thoughts as her heart rate goes up again and starts to cry.
On The Way Home:
Brandy quietly drives her nieces back home with a worried look as she starts thinking about the idea of her being awake during her heart surgery. "Aunt Brandy are you okay?" Bluey said checking on her aunt noticing she wasn't talking. "Oh, I'm just worried about your mother." Brandy replied. "I just have a feeling that your mother could have been awake during her surgery."
"Awake? How could she be awake?" Bluey asked
"Yeah, don't they usually give you medicine to make you fall asleep?" Bingo replied
"Yes, They do but I think they just didn't check on the "medicine" correctly and based on how your mother's behavior I just feel like something happened while under surgery." Brandy said explaining how Chilli's odd behavior could be the result of having been awake during surgery.
"Wow, that's scary. I really hope that didn't happen to mum." Bluey said. "I hope so too. Maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid." Brandy replied thinking that what happened to her sister wasn't true. But she still wasn't so sure of it.
