Chapter 29

Once Fitz put Grant down in his crib, he stood over it. It was just the glow of the nigh light on the crib and on Fitz's face. Looking lovingly down at his son, his smooth tan skin, Fitz gave a gentle rub to his curls.

Fitz was deep in thought looking at one of the people he loved the most in his life. Right now, he was Grant's father, he wasn't Governor of California, and as he took a deep breath through his nose and watched his own son breathe, he thought of the lengths he would go to make sure his wife and son were always protected.

The events of the past night were weighing heavy on his mind. He had so much to think about and how to strategize. Three women, one whom he loved with all his heart, the other he's loved since he was born, and the last a growing love in his life, Fitz would stop at nothing to make sure they were all safe and free from fear. Each one of them terrorized in some sense by the same man. A man his father called a best friend.

Olivia had lived most of the previous two years in constant fear. After she defended Abby's honor and attacked Chip, it had been nothing but a world of fear, hiding, and violence. He needed her, the mother of the son he held so dear to his heart, to be carefree. She was strong, intelligent, one of the best attorneys, and she had every right to continue her life as she pleased.

MiMi, his second mother, had carried a secret for 25 years. Now knowing he was the reason for her rape, her protection of him from the same man Olivia was in fear of, Fitz would stop at nothing to give MiMi her piece of mind back. He needed her to know that nothing would come of what happened at the beach house, and he would be forever grateful for what she had done, what she had sacrificed. He closed his eyes, as he gave Grant's curls a final rub and he turned to sit in the rocker.

Erin, Olivia's reason for having a successful life, Olivia's caretaker, and another victim of Jax Putney. Fitz wanted Erin to lead a life in California, a life of happiness that was taken so violently from her with the murder of her daughter Abby. He rested now, his hands covering his face as he thought of these three women and how one evil man could have tortured them for so long.

Closing his eyes tightly now, his love and care turned to anger. He looked up, taking his face out of his hands and stared into the darkness. The same darkness that was now in the heart of the man he once called his father.

He sat up now, his back straight as the chair rocked him back a bit. He looked up at the dark ceiling, he heard his son take a deep breath, and Fitz took one right after him. "I will never turn on you Grant the way my father has turned on me." He whispered. "He's going to regret this." The very man that had tortured three of the women Fitz loved, dead now, only to be honored by Senator Grant.

There was no use in even trying to talk to Big Gerry. Fitz saw it in his eyes in the car on their way back to the ranch. That look after his decision to go get Erin, Fitz knew it all too well. He saw his father have that look when enemies were near, in his presence. Gerry Grant considered Olivia an enemy. She took Fitz out of the comfort zone, made him realize why Mellie was chosen, and he knew his father hated Olivia for that, despite her being the mother of his grandson.

Fitz felt it, he was now his father's enemy too, and it was a role he was ready to embrace. His father had taught him well, Fitz would never deny that. There was a time when Big Gerry was his model, his father, the man who would take care of him, but that all changed, and Fitz was only sorry he didn't see it sooner.

He looked up and saw a shadow take over the night light. He kept his head down now as Olivia stood in front him. She rubbed his curls as he pulled her close to him, resting his head on her stomach, kissing her smooth skin.

"Fitz, it's been a long, a very long night, you need some sleep." Her hands were now interlocked around his neck, and she felt him nod in agreement.

He stood up, looking down at her, as she looked up at him. Her lips went to a small tight lipped smile, and he rested her forehead on hers. "I love you, Olivia, I love you and him with every ounce of my being." He whispered.

Her arms went around his shoulders now as her head went to his shoulder. "I know, Fitz, and I love you with all of my heart, but you're no longer alone in all of this. We get through this together."

Fitz reached around her waist and lifted her, walking her out of the room, their son sleeping peacefully, as Fitz's lips rested on hers and he carried her to the bedroom. Before his head even touched the pillow, his eyes were closed, and his body gave into exhaustion.

Watching him to make sure he was asleep and would stay asleep, Liv was gently caressing his cheek. Introducing his family at the ball, Jax dead on his property, his father turning on him, MiMi's confession, Evan beat up, and Erin nearly kidnapped, it's a no wonder he was exhausted. Liv was sure Fitz wanted to fix everything on his own, but she wouldn't let him.

She meant it, they were in this together, and as tired as they both were, this wouldn't go away just because they got a few hours of sleep. With the thought of keeping Fitz calm, making sure the weight of the world wasn't on his shoulders, Liv felt her eyes grow heavy. Liv was able to join her husband and son now in a peaceful sleep.

Huck could go days, maybe even weeks without sleep. Sleep was not important at all, and Huck did not plan on sleeping much in the coming days. Sleep was for Olivia, sleep was for Grant, maybe even for Fitz at times, but Huck would not sleep.

Danger was all around, and Huck felt it all. He felt it when Abby was killed and he was helpless, he felt it when Erin was attacked, and he had let his guard down, and he felt it when Liv was attacked during her pregnancy. Now it was a whole new ballgame.

Huck couldn't feel guilt for MiMi, as she had this well planned, but he would be damned if any of this ever got back to being her fault, her plan. Olivia now had more enemies then she would think of as Fitz introduced her as his wife, and Grant, the innocent one in all of this would never be the victim of anyone, not while Huck was alive.

Huck sat in his big chair in a dark room with the glow of three computer screens staring back at him. He had footage of the beach house on one, he had a trace going on a phone on another, and the best one, the one he prided himself with, he had access to every angle, every room, and the outside property of Jax's Avila Beach home.

Huck saw Big Gerry staring at the screen with the Grant family. He saw the plotting his in eyes, and Huck was ready. Fitz's father or not, Huck would not let this man breathe much longer if he posed a threat to those dear to his heart.

"Come on Gerry, make your move, because your death is next. Fitz won't have to worry about his son ever knowing his grandfather because you won't be around." He watched now, knowing besides the security detail everyone in the house was asleep.

Gerry clicked off the television and Huck followed the surveillance through the house until he saw Gerry finally succumb to sleep. It's just what Huck needed to see to go on with his work. Huck was preparing for war, and to prepare you have to be well equipped.

Lying to Fitz was just the beginning. He had told Fitz the footage of the beach house was destroyed, but it wasn't. He saw what MiMi did, and he thinks it was on purpose. MiMi knew if anything did happen to her, Huck would be on it. He would never let her pay for killing Jax, and she left the crumbs for him to find.

Huck could not, however, make any identification to the shadow who shot MiMi, but whomever it was that did it, Huck was sure it was the intention of MiMi not taking blame for Jax's death. Whoever the shooter was knew right where to shoot so MiMi wouldn't be hurt, and Huck couldn't be upset about that. In fact, Huck was thankful, and wished he could tell the person himself.

As the night was slowly fading away and the morning light was beginning to peak in, Huck continued to type away at the keyboards, putting his war strategy in place, and preparing for the upcoming battles he was sure to have.

"Go on, take your shower. I have him for now, Fitz." Grant had awakened a few hours after they had fallen asleep. As Fitz was going to get him, Liv stopped him. He had enough to do. "Get yourself ready for the day, I'm sure MiMi will be waking up soon too." Olivia left the room to go feed Grant in the rocker.

Fitz opened the bathroom door in the master bedroom. Thank God he hadn't stripped naked outside the bathroom because Huck was waiting in there with a file in his hand.

"Jesus Christ Huck!" Fitz jumped back. "How would you explain the heart attack you just about gave me? You're scary and I am damn happy you're on our side." Fitz looked at him then looked at the file. Huck's expression hadn't changed one bit.

"What is it?" Fitz grabbed the file.

"Uh, I was up all night. I found some things, things that are of interest for you to know. Your father did some very bad things as Governor Fitz and they were covered up nicely. We can't play nice anymore, you have a family to worry about."

Fitz nodded reading the file over. None of it truly shocked Fitz. Seeing his father stay friends with a known career criminal and flaunt him all over the state, nothing did seem to shock Fitz. That was the very reason Fitz refused to be the man his father was.

"All that security around you when you were running for Governor, it wasn't really for you, was it?"

"No," Fitz said softly. "And Mellie was a ploy too, to keep my nose out of things that were obvious."

"You're going to find disturbing things in there, Fitz, prepare yourself." Huck pointed at the folder. "I think you need your full security detail to be revamped. Tom is good, he's the best, Luther isn't too far behind, but if you really want to turn heads, make Toby the leader of Security."

Fitz's eyes went wide. "Little Toby, that would make me look weak, wouldn't it?"

"No, it would make you look smart. Toby is good. He's seen things. Look over that file and get back to me." Huck finally looked at Fitz standing there in only his boxers.

"Uh, I'm going now." Huck took a hard swallow, obviously embarrassed as he opened the door.

Liv walked in with Grant, just as Huck was closing the bathroom door. "Huck, what are doing?" Liv pointed to the bathroom and crossed her eyebrows. "Isn't Fitz in there?"

"Yeah, uh, see you later Liv."

Liv put her hand on Grant's back and looked at him. "Sometimes your uncle Huck can make you wonder about things." Her nose touched his and he gave a smile. She heard the shower go on as Alec knocked on the door.

"Ma'am sorry to interrupt, MiMi is stirring around. She should be fully awake in 15 minutes." He bowed his head and turned out.

Liv sat with Grant on her lap as she turned on the television. The news outlets were running footage at the top of the hour about Evan's ball.

"In Santa Barbara the mayor, Evan Sanchez, looks to be a shoe in for another four year term. Last night's event was a sure indication of how much the people of Santa Barbara love him. Let's not forget how he brilliantly gave props to our Governor and let him surprise us all with the news of the night."

"That's right, Bernie," The woman anchor took over now, smiling. "Our very own Governor Grant introduced his wife, Olivia Pope and shocked us even more with an adorable replica of himself, his son Grant."

Liv put Grant over her shoulder now as the footage of the three of them at the podium played. "Look how adorable our First Son of California is, an image of his handsome father. No doubt of the love between his parents, the way they look at each other. It's everything the people wanted in the Governor, and I sense the house they will be living in soon will be White on Pennsylvania Avenue."

"He certainly has a great chance getting in there. We'll have more on his story and how it's taking the state by storm." Bernie took over again. "In other news, Jax Putney, major oil tycoon, was found deceased, drowned from the tide on Governor Grant's property. In a kidnapping attempt gone wrong, Jax Putney slipped into a sand ditch, and drowned when the high tide trapped him in."

"Jax's feud with the Governor is no secret. It's clear how Governor Grant is going after oil companies and their profits while the people pay dearly at the gas pump. Having even named his father, Senator Gerry Grant, as a possible person of interest as to what happened to Jax Putney on that beach. Some very interesting things are going on. Let's check in on the weather."

Fitz came out of the shower with just a towel wrapped around his waist. Liv looked him over and it brought her back to the hotel room when she first saw him like that. His chest wet from the steam now and his curls a gorgeous soak, she didn't even realize she was licking her lips.

"And you call me shameless. You're carrying our son, Mrs. Grant." He leaned over and kissed Grant's head and proceeded to kiss Liv on the lips.

"You look so edible."

"Don't listen to the news, Livvie, it will make you crazy."

"Sir, Ma'am, MiMi is asking for you."

Sitting up in her bed, looking so worried, a dreadful worry, even the smile she faked as the three entered her room couldn't hide her emotional pain. She blinked, even pouted a bit, and whispered over three times, "I am so sorry Fitz, I am truly so sorry."

Liv watched as tears were filling her own eyes, as Fitz sat next to her, and wrapped her in his arms. "Mimi, you have nothing to be sorry about, nothing to feel ashamed about. You are, by far, the bravest woman I know." Liv watched MiMi's head dip onto Fitz's shoulder and it was the comfort she needed as he embraced her.

Liv sat with Grant and placed him in MiMi's arms. "My big boy, good morning." The smile on Grant's face brought a genuine smile to MiMi's face now. She looked up now at a standing Fitz. "So what's going on, what trouble did I cause? And who in the hell shot me?"

"No trouble. An evil man is dead, and he was killed in a failed kidnapping attempt. His body is gone, and there is nothing to investigate, case closed. We all know how he wanted back at me for going after the oil companies, he thought a kidnapping may distract me." Fitz kissed MiMi's forehead. Liv noticed he had a file in his hand, she hadn't noticed before.

"I have to go give my team a briefing. I'll send Erin in. Huck will be in later." Fitz left taking his phone out immediately.

"Get Evan Sanchez here right now. I need Linda Marshall on the line and call my chief counsel. Remind my cabinet I want them here by noon. I want all security detail for every damn high level person in my office here by 130, is it all clear?"

"Yes sir." The voice said. "The press is also…."

"Get Pedro on the line, I will brief him what to say to the press." Fitz hung up his phone. After reading the file, Evan had some explaining to do, so he would deal with that problem first. It was going to be a long few weeks and Fitz was ready.

Over at Avila Beach, the mood was somber, but business had to move on. Gerry would be in California for one month, having notifying the Senate he had things to clear here. Congress was most sympathetic, especially thinking his grandson was almost kidnapped. They had no clue in DC what was really going on here, and Gerry needed to keep it like that.

"BG," as Dez called him, "Six California Senators will be here by noon. The funeral director will be here at nine, and the leaders from Jax's three major cities will be here at two. Is there anything else?"

Big Gerry took a slug of coffee, he needed it strong today. He rubbed his face down with his hand. "No, sounds good for now. I need his records for the three cities. On paper, it will be my name as taking over his assets, Dez, you understand that right."

"I get it BG, an ex-con isn't who they need to hear from, especially the politicians. Demp was here briefly the other day so he knows what we working on."

"That's good to know. Ready to take down the Governor of California?"

Dez shrugged. "If you think there's a chance. After that stunt last night, it looks like your son will be President soon enough. I'm more interested in Olivia Pope, I know she had something to do with Chip's killing. How much ammunition you have?"

Big Gerry gave Dez a strong pat on his shoulder, smiling wickedly, "Trust me boy, I have years of ammunition. Fitz won't know what hit him, he'll be blindsided. Let's get this started, shall we. The more we get done, the closer we get to giving Jax a proper burial."

Fitz's Team

"For the next week I will be working out of the Ranch House here. I will be in contact with the State house daily." Fitz looked at Linda.

"Lt Gov Marshall will be taking over the reigns at the Governor's mansion while I am here. Any out of city trips that need to be taken, she will do in place of me. Pedro is taking care of the press corp and he has been briefed and prepped already."

Fitz's scheduling office head, Naomi Farr handed out a sheet of the public scheduling for the upcoming week. Anything of major state importance, Fitz would work from virtually from Santa Barbara. Everyone sitting at the meeting table grew silent after Ms. Farr was finished and waited.

Fitz stood up, put his one hand in his pocket and began to walk around the room. He looked at each of them, each appointed by him, loyal members he had known for years, and none of whom took his father's beliefs. "My father as you know will be taking over the Putney Empire. I am sure of it, and that means we are heading into some very dangerous territory on the state and federal political front. We have a Senate where some members are still beholden to him and although I could persuade them away from Jax Putney, my father may be a different outcome."

Each one of them nodded in agreement. "I am going to make myself perfectly clear right now." Fitz's face grew stern and he was no longer speaking to them as a friend, and they knew that. "Any one of you that wants out, I get it, I will hold no ill feelings towards you, but you leave right now, in front of us all. No one will pass judgement on you." Fitz paused waiting, and not one of them moved.

He nodded and went on. "In the coming weeks, you will be bribed, you will be threatened, your families may even be approached. Understand the diligence we must have and if you're not willing to withstand it all, get out." Again a very long, uncomfortable pause.

"Seeing no movement, if you give in to any of the bribes, any of the threats, and fear for your families enough to turn on me, it will be a mistake. You will be meeting the family I introduced last night in person. You will see how much I love them and will protect them. You are trusted with my public schedule, if any event gets out beforehand to my father and his team, I will know it was one of you."

Fitz saw a few begin to fidget in their seats. His jaw clenched. "My father is now a threat. I will be honest with you. Whatever you hear in the coming weeks, I have never taken any money from the Putney name. I have never taken any favors because of who my father is, and I never engaged in any criminal cover ups or activities. I will be nothing but honest with you so if you hear anything else, it's a lie to get you to defect."

There was a tap at the door. Fitz's detail opened it and Evan was standing there. "Sorry, Governor, I was told you needed to see me." He took a hard swallow, his eye and cheekbone badly bruised from the punch he took last night.

Fitz turned back to his cabinet. "If there isn't anything else? We have a few things going on throughout the state. I'll need all hands on deck. Veteran's Cemetery is getting a dedication on Wednesday, and Marshall will be going. She has her Air Force service, and she deserves to be the one to do the honor."

"Also, my wife will be introducing a grant for domestic abuse survivors. That will be on Thursday, the anniversary of her sister's death from Domestic Violence. We will be doing a dedication in the Thinking Garden outside, she doesn't know that yet though." He gave a smile. "I'll be in touch." He turned to Evan his smile faded and his face went completely serious. "Have a seat."

Avila Beach

"Upon the wishes of Jax in his will, we will be having a private viewing service to be attended by his closest friends and allies. The next day, his urn will be at the memorial service out beachside. A gathering will follow and his name engraved on the family tombstone next to his son Chip and his beloved Jules." Gerry Grant had the funeral director write down all the directives for the services to be held Wednesday and Thursday.

He looked at Dez. Dez continued. "Here is a list of the two major news networks we want covering the service on Thursday. Jax was a giving citizen to the state of California, his life should be honored as doing such." Dez handed the list over to Jax's press correspondent.

Now, in a meeting with the six senators from the California Senate, Big Gerry began putting his plan into motion. Demp and Sanderson being the leads on anything that would block Fitz from being successful, Gerry started by pointing them out to the other four.

"On the Senate floor, these two are who you are following. I don't want any setbacks, and you make sure any holdouts are taken care of." He nodded to the files the members had in front of them. "Open your folders and anyone who gasps in surprise, leave the fucking room. I don't have time for snowflakes here, you hear me. This is nothing new, everyone has a coverup, this is what you use if there is something they aren't agreeing to, you hear me." Gerry watched the expressions.

He had dirt on all the Senators that made up the California legislature. His son knew some of the secrets, but not all of them. If what Gerry did last night to Evan was any indication of the response he would get, then Fitz's time as Governor wasn't going to be easy.

"Tell your details to be alert. Fitz appoints the head of Homeland Security. Homeland Security then assigns the service detail. He knows who to have on you, so be alert to any changes, and know the agents. Don't be surprised if they change weekly, it's the sick shit games he plays."

Demp looked at the agenda in front of him. Gerry noticed his face and said something. "Demp are you seeing something you're not satisfied with?"

He took a deep breath and began speaking. "There are six of us here, are you telling me you expect 34 others to go along with our votes? Look at line two, what the hell do you expect us to do with that? That's our constituents."

Gerry gave a slight laugh. "Jax told me how juvenile you can be at times. Currently there are 22 Republicans and 18 Democrats on the Senate. You have the majority. What is your problem?"

"Problem is Senator Genius, your son has a few close friends that are republican and democrat on the Senate. His policies aren't Republican as you have witnessed, I mean hell you're the one with a grandson and daughter in law you obviously didn't know about." Demp began laughing now.

His teeth grinding, Gerry said, "We aren't here to argue, you know, just look at the items and know that this priority, as far as line two, leave that up to me, it's federal money. I take care of that, you'll have people bombarding your offices with phone calls. Don't give a shit, that shouldn't be too hard for you Demp."

Gerry took a deep breath. Demp wasn't wrong. Fitz was gaining allies along the state. Mayors, heads of Field offices, and representatives on town councils. This was going to be a challenge, but one Gerry was willing to go the distance for. "Now, back to the detail, there's where your worries begin, you cannot have a breech in security."

"You know, Senator, before Olivia Pope was introduced as your daughter in law, she was already making a name for herself. She is representing Joyce Waters, who as you know is contending with Sanderson here. If she wins, we lose her vote, and this guy is out." Demp reminded him.

"Oh, look at line 6, Demp. We have that covered." He wouldn't say it out loud, but the judge assigned to Joyce's grand jury this upcoming week was in his pocket. Gerry wasn't concerned, plus Joyce was still an emotional wreck, with no campaign money anymore. She wasn't a threat. Or so Gerry thought, as he underestimated Olivia Pope.

Evan sat across from Fitz now. Fitz tossed a file in his direction. Evan reached out to look at it and stopped when Fitz yelled. "Don't open it yet!" His hand went back and Evan put his tongue in his cheek.

"What do you want from me Fitz? I had no choice." Evan closed his eyes. "I had no choice." He whispered it again.

Fitz stared a him with confused eyes. "You loved Natasha. You adored her. What happened?"

Evan just shrugged. "I don't know. Things were great, then one night she texted me to come over, her parents were away for the night, so I did. It wasn't our first time, but it was different, I don't know how to explain it." Evan stopped, remembering that night.

"The next day two cops show up at my door saying they have to take me in for questioning, Natasha was at the hospital completing a rape kit and she had accused me of rape."

"Why didn't you call me?"

"Fitz we were just 18. You were becoming mayor, fucking mayor, at the age of 18, what did you expect me to do? I went to your father. He went to Natasha, talked to her for hours. No charges were pressed and he told me I was to never have contact with her again."

"She loved you man, she loved you so much, you should've gone to her."

"YOU DON'T THINK I WANTED TO? I WANTED NOTHING MORE THAN TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH HER, BUT I HAD CLEAR DIRECTIVES." Evan banged the table and began to sob.

"He played you. You know he played you." He tossed the copy of the suicide note Gerry said to have had in his possession.

It was anything but an accusation. It was her profession of love for Evan clearing him of any wrongdoing that night. Natasha's writing, clear as day, Evan looked at it in complete shock and cried some more. He tossed the paper back on the table.

"She killed herself alright Evan, but because she missed you, not because you raped her. He had you think that for the reason of last night. He wanted you in his pocket for a future favor, and last night, you paid him." Fitz walked over to him.

He put his hand on his longtime friend's shoulder. "My father doesn't believe in love. You loved her, Evan, he sees that as a weakness. You did nothing wrong, and you've lived with this guilt for a very long time."

Evan nodded in agreement. "He threw it in my face last night to let them go. I would have never let them go, he told me he was going to you and the people will see me as a rapist, not a mayor."

"It's over now, this is your town. You do it right, got that."

"Yes, and please apologize to Olivia and Erin for me."

Fitz shook his head. "No need to, they hold no anger towards you."

Evan smiled. "The whole town is head over heels for Grant. The talk after you left, and they are so intrigued with Olivia. You really turned heads last night. Think you punched your ticket to the White House."

"That's the furthest thing from my mind right now. Look make yourself available for Thursday we are having a memorial in the garden for Olivia's sister. I'll see you then. Don't let my father know you're aware of what he did to you."

"How did you get the copy of the letter?" Evan asked.

"Not important. Go, I have to meet with security now." The tap on the door came in, and Levi Higgins, Director of homeland security walked in. Behind him three of his top detail, Tom, Luther, and Toby. "Have a seat gentlemen."

After the security plan was detailed, revamped, and modified, Fitz made it clear to the four men how important this was. "My family's protection at all times, that's first priority. Second, any indication someone is working for my father, for Dez Fuentes, I am made aware of it immediately. I have eyes other than yours, don't fuck this up."

Levi shook his hand. "Governor, you have my word. As for the Senators, the rotation schedule will be sent to your for approval before any changes are made."

"Thank you." Fitz looked at his watch. "Toby, you ready for your role."

"Yes sir." Toby smiled.

"Good, you have these two to mentor you along. Don't be afraid to act on instinct." Fitz needed this over, he wanted to get back to Olivia and Grant, spend the rest of the night with them.

By the time Fitz made it up to the bedroom, Grant was already asleep by Olivia's side. She was sitting up in the bed reading her book. She smiled as he walked in, and was that a sight for his sore eyes.

"I brought your dinner up for you." She pointed to the small table. "You need to eat."

He pulled the book from her hands and rested it on the nightstand. He was just staring into her eyes, as he caressed her cheek. "I missed you Mrs. Grant." His caress, went to a cup of his hand and he pulled her to his lips, as his tongue entered her mouth, and her grip around his shoulders tightened.

Olivia gave in to him, melting, and felt a moan come out mid kiss. Her legs began to bend, as she felt her core tighten to an unbelievable want for this man. "Fitz." Her voice was a deep breath whisper. "Grant."

Fitz scooped him up, gently, resting him in the cradle next to the bed, as he watched Liv take off her clothes. She sat up, and when he returned to the bed, she stopped him from laying down.

They both had their clothes off, and Fitz sat now in the middle of the bed, Liv straddled him, wrapping her legs around his waist and crossing her ankles. Her head was slightly above his and her hand was resting on his cheek as they kissed long and hard.

His hands rubbing her back as she looked down at him, had her coming undone, and one of his hands grabbed hold of himself and guided his erection towards her entrance.

Fitz's tongue was circling her lips, and her hands now, fingers bent, were on his back, practically scratching him because of the need of wanting him in her so bad. "You're so ready for me baby."

She leaned back just a bit and watching his mouth take her breast to cover it. He kissed in between her breasts and she pushed her body up and back down, getting him deep inside her on the first try.

So she wouldn't moan or scream to wake up Grant, Fitz put one finger in her mouth, and using his neck as an anchor, her body was riding him, her legs still wrapped around him, and it was taking her to a place of pure bliss.

Her breath becoming uncontrollably heavy now, her head went forward and her mouth was buried on his neck as she climaxed long and hard, having to moan but able to have his neck stifle the sound. As she fell weak in his arms, he laid her back and continued to pump into her, watching her body just take him all in.

He too was reaching his climax, and with a hard thrust, he had to grunt into her neck, as his tongue came around into her mouth with a long moan stifling kiss.

They were motionless for a few moments, Liv's forehead went to his shoulder. "Fitz." She whispered with a deep swallow.

He rolled off her, leaving his head on her shoulder. "What Livvie?" His finger began to circle her lips.

"We didn't use a condom." His head popped up immediately, they were just so into it, he didn't even think of it. He closed his eyes as his head left her shoulder and faced her.

"It's fine," she turned to him, "It should be fine." She caressed his face, seeing the worry turn to a smile.

"And if it's not fine?" He asked concerned.

"We have other things to worry about. Grand Jury on Joyce Waters meets on Tuesday. I have to be in San Diego. Vivian called me today. Jill Evers is presiding judge."

"Fuck." Fitz said. "She's on my father's list."

"I know. I have Joyce right now safe. Janice took her in at the shelter in Sacramento. I'm arranging secret travel for her on Tuesday. She's there tonight with three other women. I told Janice after the grand jury on Tuesday I would go to Sacramento to speak to the three."

"Ok." Fitz ran his finger down her cheek. He smiled. "You're doing great things. How are MiMi and Erin, I'm sorry I didn't get to see much of them today."

Olivia took a deep breath. "Erin and I spent most of the day with MiMi. We told her the horror stories of Jax and Chip. She told us about the rape. Fitz, it was horrible, worse than anything he did to us. The world is a better place without that man. I don't know how MiMi lived so long with that secret without a breakdown. She really loves you."

"I know." He felt the guilt come back, tears filling his eyes.

"Hey, you didn't know, she made sure of that. She was able to keep Jax out of your life though, and that kept him out of hers too."

"Yeah." He looked over to the nightstand. His phone was buzzing. "Go ahead."

Fitz's head shot back to look at Liv, and it was a worried look. "When?" A pause. "How the fuck did this happen?" Another pause. "Get the police there right away and put them in protective custody. NOW DAMN IT!"

Liv sat up, as Grant began to cry with the yell. "Geez Fitz, you need to stop doing that to him."

"Sorry." He whispered as he dialed the phone. "The women's shelter holding Joyce was just closed. Janice and the tenants were evicted to the street. Janice said funds were empty and they just came in and shut them down."

Liv sat back against the headboard with Grant latched on feeding. "A federally funded shelter closed on a Sunday night in Sacramento. Your father just made his first move."
