Chapter 33
Liv was lying with the Governor after just putting Grant down for the night. His teething pain was getting a bit better, but he was still very irritable. You could see the white of one tiny tooth cutting in through the gum.
Both parents had been taking turns trying to soothe him and now they were finally in each other's arms, chest to chest, as Liv circled by his heart with her lips. "Well," she took a deep breath. "I'm not pregnant, so there's that. We can start using protection again." Her shoulder shrugged a bit and Fitz pulled her closer to his body realizing she must have just begun her cycle.
He wasn't going to tell her how disappointed he was, but maybe this was for the better. "It will happen at the right time, and whenever you don't want protection, that's fine with me. Feels better inside you like that anyway." He smiled as she looked up at him and kissed her gently on the forehead.
"In other news, Mrs. Grant, I heard you were remarkable in the courtroom today. The jury selected is not what the defense wanted. Good work." They were now face to face as they talked.
Liv loved moments like this. They could talk for hours just about their day, about Grant, about anything, and it just made her soul feel a bit more free when they did this. No matter what, Fitz always had to touch her, and that was fine. His hand was around her waist resting on her back.
"Yeah, it was great. If it was up to Peters, he would have had an all-white male jury, falling right into his hands." Liv couldn't believe she was up against her former boss. She wasn't shocked they would take on a domestic abuser as a client, but she was quite startled when he approached her at the prosecutor's table.
"Peters has to be scared that you're on the opposite side." Fitz smiled at her, still stalling to talk about his father's interaction with Grant.
"I don't know about scared, if he was, he'd never show it. He just better know I'm not letting this case get lost, I don't even think a plea deal should be made. We'll see how it goes. So, about you today, way to turn the tables on Grandpa Grant and get his ass out of Santa Barbara. Smart, Governor Grant, real smart."
Fitz looked down then back up at Liv. "I am so sorry he got that close to Grant and the pictures." Fitz stopped. He took a deep breath in to control his anger. "That shouldn't have happened."
The picture made the evening news cycle. "Three generations of Grants all in the Governor's office." The articles went on to say how the picture was predicting the future for the youngest Grant. Fitz was ravaging mad and when Liv walked in today from the jury selection, he made sure to the be the one to tell her before she heard it from anyone else.
"Come on Fitz don't beat yourself up over that. It's just the way the media sells the story. Think of the bigger picture. You had one of the NRA's biggest lobbyists at your whim for your gun control bill."
"Yeah, but I had to use Grant to sell it. I never want to do that." His face went now to the crook of her neck as he felt comforted from her touch rubbing his head gently.
"Honestly," Liv rested her head on his. "It's not a bad sell. It's realistic and now your father is scrambling back to DC, wondering how to approach the Senate floor. This is going to be fun to watch unfold. You know he wanted to stay here and take care of Jax's things, but now it's in Dez's hands. Dez is sure to mess it up." Liv yawned.
Fitz's head shot up, looking at her. They never told her Dez was missing, and Fallon was dead. Her eyes had closed, and she was sleeping. There was not a chance in hell he was going to tell her now. He held her in his arms now, letting the sleep settle in before going to see Huck for an update.
Looking into the darkness, hearing the breathing of his wife and son in the room, Fitz took a deep breath. He was satisfied with his victory today against his father and the republicans both here and in DC were beat red with anger.
Once Fitz realized what Gerry was doing with his photo op moment, Fitz summoned Lauren to get Erin right away. Standing up with Grant in his arms, the cameras all motioned themselves, now hoping Fitz would hand Grant over to his father. It would be fabulous to see the former Governor holding the current Governor's son who just happened to be his grandson. It would have been a picture of California history.
Instead, Fitz shifted Grant away from Gerry and walked towards the door. As soon as Erin came in she reached her arms out, and Grant nearly jumped into his Nana's arms, resting his head on her shoulder. Fitz gave his son a gentle kiss, and whispered to Erin, "I'll meet you back at the duplex in a few hours." He rubbed Grant's curls as Erin turned and walked out.
Not to be defeated, Fitz walked over to Gerry now who was speaking with some of the reporters. He put his arm around his father, playing the political game he was taught so young in life. "Hey Jessie, my dad telling you what he whispered his grandson, I always knew he would pick protection over destruction, especially now that he has a grandson and his life could be depending on it." He gave his dad a pat on his shoulder. "Right, dad?", Fitz said with the biggest smile.
Jessie was intrigued and it would be a plus for the dying newspaper, the California Tribune, to run this story first. Licking his lips with anticipation Jessie caught on quickly. "Is this about the gun bill? The one in Washington?" Jessie's eyes were going side to side, beaming with excitement, from father to son. He pointed his pencil at Gerry. "Did you just, are you bringing his bill forth in the Senate with your support."
Before Gerry could even breathe to speak Fitz pointed at Jessie. "Bingo young man. You weren't close enough to hear him whisper in is grandson's ear. Must be those baby blue eyes that make my heart melt also." Isn't that right dad?" The emphasis on dad.
"Jessie, look, I didn't."
"He didn't think it was loud enough to hear." Fitz cut in, "but my father called a special session for Congress to convene and his proposing my gun bill on the Senate floor. With another mass shooting, this one at a middle school in Sonoma, my father has a different outlook now. One day his grandson will be in middle school, and gun violence, by then should be a thing of the past." Fitz smiled again.
"So when, Senator can we expect this bill to be put for vote?" Jessie asked, curious eyes, and it gained the attention of the other reporters now lurking closer to hear.
"Well, I," Gerry paused. He couldn't go back on it now and with the interaction he had just had with his grandson, he needed the public to see this. Having defended Jax, the public was already leaning towards Fitz, so he needed to squirm back in. This had to be the crack to open just to get in. Taking a deep, angry breath, Gerry said. "Well, I'm not so sure the bill is ready, completely."
"Oh, it's ready." Mikey from the Times chimed in. "Fitz was very thorough with it. In fact, Fitz has mentioned numerous times that gun violence is the number one killer of our kids. Are you just going to let Washington DC fail to make a protection to our kids. It has to begin there, unless that whole interaction with little Grant was just for a picture."
Fitz stood silent now, knowing his father wanted him to answer this one, but he didn't, and Fitz left him in the water to sink. He crossed his arms waiting for his father to answer the seasoned reporter. Gerry didn't want to talk but had to.
"Come on Senator, that gun law went to DC once Fitz was able to sign it almost four months ago, it doesn't take or strip any rights to bear arms, it's strictly on gun safety. You're really going to be against that."
"My grandson deserves to grow up in a country where he has his rights to bear arms. It's his constitutional right." Gerry tried to defend.
"However, without the safety laws in place, Grant's ten year old classmate can one day bring a gun to school to show off and your grandson could be the victim of an avoidable shooting."
Fitz had such a commanding leadership to him that even Gerry's heart pounded thinking of such a scenario.
"Gun safety is a priority." Gerry tried to convince himself.
"But what my father is trying to tell you all fine journalists is that the money from the NRA is more of a priority. What you saw today by him approaching my son, it was for a…"
"For a promise of a safe future for him and for the millions of other kids in this country who deserve protection from guns." Gerry couldn't believe he just said that.
"So the bill goes before the Senate?" Jessie again repeated.
Gerry looked now at the ten curious sets of eyes looking at him, knowing he was defeated. Damn it Fitz, all I wanted was a picture with my grandson, so they thought I was in the good graces of the Governor. "It's a 90% chance, and I'll leave it at that." Gerry grinded his teeth and he heard his phone buzz before the last word came out of his mouth.
Fitz looked over Gerry's shoulder. "Hmm, the president, he wants the bill as much as I do. This is live you know, and guess what, you're going to DC, bye dad." Fitz turned and faced the reporters, leaving Gerry to his phone call.
Liv was now soundly sleeping, and Fitz squirmed his way out of the bed, gently kissing her forehead as he walked towards the other side of the duplex where Huck was working round the clock. He grabbed his phone and asked Luther to stay by the bedroom door.
Fitz sat down, behind Huck at the computer. He was tapping away at the keyboard. Huck didn't turn around. "I think I have something." He felt Fitz move closer to the screen.
Looking at a home video from a RING camera Huck pointed to man walking out of the home holding a few bags. "That's Dez. At least I know he's in San Diego." Huck got comfortable in his chair enlarging and trying to get a location. "I'll get you little fucker."
Fitz's phone began to buzz. He answered than paused, tapping Huck on his shoulder. "Hit and run of a police officer in the Bonita section of San Diego." Fitz listened to more. "The officer is in critical condition and a suspect matching Dez's description is wanted."
"Fucking guy is going to take anyone down in his wrath, shit." Huck turned back to the computer. "Means he'll stop at nothing to get Liv, or Grant for that matter." Huck didn't realize he said it out loud.
Fitz took a hard swallow. "What do you know, why would you say that?" Fitz remembered his father's warning about Dez wanting Olivia.
Still not facing him, Huck began speaking. "Dez has always thought of Chip as a brother. I didn't know Dez existed until I got out here. He's a bad guy, Fitz, worse than Boozer. I had some CIA friends look into him. The guy is downright badass hardcore criminal."
"Why the fuck isn't he in prison?"
Finally Huck stopped and spun his chair to Fitz. "I don't really have to answer that, do I? We've taught you enough in the last year, haven't we. I am talking about me and Liv. Don't put your blinders on now. Liv's life is still in danger, and I'm sorry if this sounds cruel, Governor, but I will protect her and Grant foremost over you. Get your act together and start getting Jax's judges unseated, his cops locked up, and his criminal gangs wiped out." Huck took a breath through his nose and continued to work.
Fitz called an emergency virtual meeting with Toby and Tom as they were on their way up to the duplex. He wanted the budget to be used to beef up the guards and the ones hired to be screened through the grueling of processes. He was taking no chances in the coming weeks.
He would have to explain the increase in protection to Olivia, and she would probably fight it. When they met, he was the one running from his protection, she never wanted it like that for her life. Fitz's hand went through his hair. "Dez is hardcore." The words played over in his mind. Dez was no Putney, he was a street punk, and he could single handedly bring crime statistics up in the state.
The next call was to Timothy Brax. He was Chief of the California Bureau of Investigation. "Chief Brax, Governor Grant, I know you usually go on orders from my Attorney General, but I need some personal help."
Timothy had gone to high school with Fitz. He was two years older than Fitz but had kept close contact with him. Timothy had been called after Fitz became governor by Fitz's state attorney general to lead the unit, an honor Timothy took seriously.
"This is strictly to San Diego, or should we expand the perimeter?" Timothy wouldn't hesitate to help his friend.
"Let's see who we can get off the streets of San Diego first that work for or with Dez, then take it from there."
Walking back into Huck's room Fitz said, "You have the California Bureau of Investigation at your disposal." He placed Tim's information by Huck.
Huck nodded. "Thank you, that's a big help." Huck let Fitz leave without telling him, he'd already had them at his disposal. He hacked their computers two weeks ago and was using knowledge of Dez's contacts through their own computer base. Still, this would help knowing the officers would be at his reach. Huck smiled, he was one step closer to slitting Dez's throat, and he couldn't wait.
Liv was just rolling out of bed to get a squirmy uncomfortable Grant when Fitz walked back in. "Hey Mister, I'm going to give him a feeding." He latched on, and Fitz went next to her, Grant in between, as Liv fed him. Fitz was rubbing her smooth brown shoulder.
Liv's arm was around her son, as she fell asleep again along with Grant. Fitz stared at them both, more worried than he had been when the Putney's were alive. Maybe Liv was right, maybe they shouldn't have gone public.
Fitz went to take Grant to put him back in his cradle, but Liv pulled him closer. "No, Fitz, I want feel him." Liv said groggy.
Something was off with Liv; she knows something isn't right. Liv's gut intuition is always right. She's getting in her protection mode. He watched as their son slept so calmly on his mother's bosom and Liv fell into a deep enough sleep for Grant to be put back into his cradle.
Fitz could see Liv's eyes moving rapidly in her sleep and he feared for one of her night dreams, but she didn't have one, not before Fitz fell asleep, anyway, and there was no disturbance through the night.
TWO WEEKS LATER
It had been five long days, and Liv was feeling the effects of not having Fitz around the Santa Barbara house. Having MiMi and Erin was great. Liv would do nothing to miss the interactions they were having with Grant, only thing, she longed for her husband.
While walking the grounds one day, going to the thinking garden to talk to Abby, Liv noticed movement on the beach house roof. She immediately called Huck who jogged to the garden before Liv could hang up the phone.
When Huck returned, he assured her it was nothing. Apparently, Fitz needed a leak checked out, and that's what the guy was doing. Liv squinted at Huck having a feeling he was lying to her, which he never did before, but Liv left it alone.
After her chat with Abby, her phone was ringing, and Viv was on the other end. "Have I got news for you." Viv said happily.
"What?" Liv laughed. "I can't imagine."
"The Woman's Coalition of California wants you to be their spokesperson. They want to you know if you can set up a time to meet and interview and go statewide in an ad for them."
'You're lying." Liv squealed. "Is this for real?"
"It's for real First Lady Grant. You are doing your thing. Your work with the women that have suffered in domestic abuse is not going unnoticed. And the jury conviction of that bastard last week, you are making some moves girl."
"Well, someone had to whisper in their ear, how did they hear about my work?"
"Hmm, I'm not too sure."
"Viv, you are too much. Why don't you come here tomorrow, stay for a few days. We're just welcoming Fitz home today. He's been roaming the state about the gun bill pushing for it to get passed both here and in DC. He also went to chat with Joyce about starting up her campaign. You ready to run that?"
"Hell yeah, I'll get in around 3 tomorrow. How is Grant?" Viv asked.
"Oh my God, Viv, I'm going back to the house now. He's getting his first feeding of fruit. We've been giving him cereal, now we're going to mix in applesauce. I know, exciting right." Liv laughed, "but seeing him grow is heartwarming and sad. He loves to play peek a boo now also. You have to hear his giggle."
"I'm looking forward to it. Chat more tomorrow, Liv. I love how carefree you finally sound. This Woman's Coalition is going to be the start of California loving their First Lady."
Liv smiled as she walked in the house. She heard the blare of music coming form the living room and could hear the giggles of Grant. That sound just tickled Liv, sending chills up her body. Peering in, Erin was listening to Abby's favorite singer, Lady GaGa, and she was dancing with Grant.
The song "Rain on Me" was playing and with the beat, Erin would bounce Grant who would giggle with the movement. As if exhausted from laughing, he would rest his head on Erin's shoulder and then with the chorus of "Rain. On. Me" Erin would do it all again.
The expression of pure joy on Erin's face brought tears to Liv's eyes. She never thought she would see that again after Abby died, not on Erin's face anyway. Watching this interaction, was pure, unconditional love a grand parent had for a grandchild.
"Hey mom, he's loving this huh?" Liv rubbed Grant's back. "Hey caterpillar, you ready to eat? Daddy should be home any minute."
As Erin was handing over Grant to his mother, she looked at Liv. "What's with all the added security? I told Toby I was heading to the store for some things, and he had two guards come with me. That's never been. I noticed a few more roaming the grounds too."
Liv held Grant a bit closer. Her lips squirmed in thought and remembered the guy on the roof. "I'm not sure. I know the NRA isn't too fond of Fitz right now, so maybe…" Liv stopped. She didn't want to make Erin worry about something if it was nothing. "I'll check with Fitz. Come on, we're going to give this big guy some applesauce with his cereal."
The car was approaching the drive and Liv scooped Grant into her arms. She ran to the door and waited for it to open to surprise Fitz. As it swung open, Liv jumped in front of him with Grant and said
"Boo". The smile on Fitz's face was what Liv longed for, and Fitz heard the giggle come from his son for the first time.
While kissing his wife, he took Grant and bounced him. "When did you learn to laugh like that, huh? You thought it was funny to scare daddy?"
"Go, on, play peek a boo with him, watch." Liv said, holding her hands over her mouth. Fitz covered his eyes, Grant looking at him and pulled his hand away from his eyes.
"Boo!" He moved his face closer to Grants, and his son's mouth went open in laughter with the most contagious giggle. Fitz looked at Liv, who couldn't hide her happiness. "Livvie."
"I know. It's a beautiful sound, right." She snuggled up to Fitz and Fitz couldn't remember a time of pure happiness for Liv. No way he was going to tell her Dez was still lurking. It had been a frustrating day of news for Fitz.
"Come on Mister, we are about to feed him his cereal with applesauce."
If Grant had the reflexes to pull the spoon out of Liv's hand, he would have. Before one spoonful of cereal and applesauce was out of his little mouth, he was opening it for the next spoonful. He would take a moment to lick his lips before anticipating more.
Taking some drinks from the bottle, as his two proud grandmas looked on, they began to clap when the bowl was finished. Grant looked up at them startled by the sound with a look of confusion. "Grant's a big boy." MiMi said. "Now he needs a bath." She pulled him from the highchair and left Fitz alone to chat with Liv.
Grant was reaching his five month milestone, Liv had picked a jury that convicted Steve Monti within fifteen minutes of going in for deliberations, and Big Gerry was in DC fighting off the hound dogs of the NRA. Fitz should feel nothing but victory, but he just had this anger, this frustration about knowing Dez was out there in the underworld causing destruction.
Fitz should be relaxed because they were far from San Diego and any dangers of Dez. Tim had worked with Huck, and they had caught three of Dez's top men. Not one of them would spill any information about Dez.
They were in fear for their lives, but at least they were off the streets and not a danger to society anymore. After that one sighting of Dez, he fell off the face of the earth again.
Fitz had round the clock surveillance on the house in Avila Beach, but it was abandoned and Fitz guessed it would serve as a good guest house for his father when he visited the state. Fitz smiled.
"What are you smiling at Mister?" Liv caught him. "As happy as I am about your little man?"
"Yes, that and how my father isn't going to see much peace when he comes out to California. Instead of the NRA bothering me anymore, they will high tail it to him. It will be easy to find him when they get an anonymous tip that he's staying in Avila Beach."
Liv shook her head, still watching Fitz. She rested her head on his shoulder. "I remember when it was just me and Grant how I dreamed of you feeding him one day. I was so afraid you wouldn't get a chance to be his father."
He pulled Liv close to him. "Stop thinking that way. We will always have each other now."
"Fitz." Liv said not moving her head. "What's with all the added security?"
"What do you mean. I didn't add security."
"Fitz." Liv popped her head up now. "Erin had two guards take her grocery shopping and deny it all you want we're being monitored from above the beach house."
"Take a walk with me." Fitz wanted to take her to the beach house. They could talk better there, and Liv loved the balcony with its view of the beach.
While Liv went to get a sweater, Fitz called Huck. "I'm going to tell her Huck. She's noticing the security. Just tell me you have something."
"Yeah, another dead body." Huck said through grinding teeth. "I have a feeling he's on the Mexico border. I am looking for a guy on border control to be on the lookout. The latest death was the same drug dealing one Fallon had in her system, like it came from the same lab. I think the guy was going to turn himself in and rat Dez out, he's dead now though. Coincidence?"
"Fuck." Fitz breathed. "I'll call you later." Liv interlocked her arm into his and they began walking to the beach house.
With the crashing of waves in the background, Liv stopped on the bridge crossover leaning Fitz's back against the railing. "I missed you so much Governor." Her lips locked with his as his hands ran up and down her back, under her shirt.
Liv's hand went to his hardening dick in his pants. "I can see you missed me too."
"Mm" Fitz moaned. "I can see we'll be doing more than just talking at the beach house."
"My favorite place to have all of you inside of me." Her lips dropped again to his swirling her tongue into his mouth. They continued the walk to the beach house. Liv was about to bring up the woman's coalition, but her phone rang.
"My turn." Her eyebrows went up in a ha ha to Fitz. "Stop it, that's insane." She said with pure joy. "Of course, of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Not a chance. Yes, yes, this is amazing. Ok, see you tomorrow."
They entered the house, Fitz pulling her to the couch, and sitting her on his lap as his arms wrapped around her waist and his lips met her neck. "What was that all about Mrs. Grant?"
Her neck tilted to his touch, feeling her core ache for him. "That, Governor was your wife getting recognized. First, Viv called before. The Woman's Coalition want me to be their spokesperson, now she just called again. I am being asked to work a booth for LMK organizations, the one that…."
"The one that makes sure every child in every school has a free lunch and breakfast. I remember signing them into law one of my first days as Governor. This is awesome news. Where is the booth and when?" Fitz's hands now were making their way under her shirt, grabbing her breasts, and he could feel her getting weak.
"Damn, Fitz." Liv's breathing got heavier. "Fuck this, I'll tell you after I have you." She pulled him up with her and off they went into the bedroom.
Fitz laid on his back, shirt off, boxers stretching in his best area and watched Liv undress. He held his arms open for her to fall into them. Once Liv rested the side of her head on his chest, kissing her way down, she pulled his boxers down, and took him deep into her mouth.
"Damn, Livvie." His hand holding the back of her head, as the rhythm went slowly up and down. Her warm saliva taking him to a place he missed. Stopping her before he came too soon, he pulled her up to him, pulling her down to a tongue dancing kiss.
Her hands were holding her up, her breasts dangling over his chest, she reached over for a condom. Fitz's face took on some confusion.
"Liv." He questioned.
"It's fine, Fitz, just for a few times, ok." and she slowly brought her body down, lining her entrance with his hard erection after she rolled the condom over it.
Fitz's head went back on the pillow as his hands now interlocked with hers and she was using that as an anchor to penetrate his cock deeper into her.
"I missed you, Governor." She took a long breath, her head going up with a moan. "So fucking much." Her heart began racing and her orgasm hit, her lips dropping to him as she sucked his bottom lip. "You feel so good." She found the strength to say as she rode out her orgasm.
Fitz sat up, keeping her on top, wrapping his arms around her waist as her legs straddled over the side of his body. She cupped his face, weakly, and brought her lips down to his as he penetrated her weakened body.
"Oh, God, Livvie., look at me." Liv looked deep into his eyes, his body still pumping up into her, and he moved some hair behind her ear. His breathing got rapid, and his mouth went open. He groaned and fell back onto the pillow, and Liv's head fell onto his chest under his chin.
He left for a moment to clean up, then as he returned to the bed, he went above her, sinking his lips onto her neck before moving next to her. He began caressing her beautiful face and said. "so, tell me all about your California First Lady adventures."
She gave him the details about the woman's coalition as Viv gave them to her before. "So I'll be on television, Mister, how about that."
"How about that?" He tried to sound excited, but there was a hint of worry in his voice. She was opening the door to Dez getting her schedule, but he wasn't going to say anything. "I'm all for this Liv, I am so happy for us."
"Then, what you just heard." Liv put her head now on his chest. "They want me at a booth to promote and make aware of the LMK foundation. Apparently, school districts aren't taking advantage as they should, and they need me in the most needed district."
"So when is that?"
"Next week, in San Diego. The Youth festival is next week, and they would like me there." Liv's shoulder went up. "I am so excited for this, Fitz. Being a mother too, this is so important to me. Viv is setting this all up. Can we hire her Fitz? Can I have a Chief of Staff or something?"
"Well, yeah, you absolutely can get a chief of staff. I didn't think you would want one."
"Viv is coming tomorrow. Can we ask her?""
"Sure can." Then it dawned on Fitz what Liv said. "Wait, you said San Diego?"
"Yeah, San Diego, next week, Saturday and Sunday."
"No."
Her head popped up. "NO?" She dipped her head and looked at him with stern eyes. "Did you just say no?"
"You're not going anywhere near San Diego."
"Fitz. Ok, what is going on? Don't lie to me. Between you and Huck, what the fuck is going on." She pulled her shirt over her head, crossed her arms and waited.
Fitz's head went down. He looked back up. "We can't find Dez, Fallon is dead, and there's a crime spree in San Diego. Huck and I think Dez is behind it all. His number one target is you, and we think he's building an organization to come after us, or any government official."
"How long have you known this?" Liv was clearly angry.
"A few days after Jax died. I didn't want to worry you. You're so happy with…"
"Worry me? Since when aren't we truthful with each other Fitz? This is something…." Liv thought of how happy she was moments ago to go to San Diego. "You know what?" She jumped out of the bed, getting fully dressed. "I'm going back to Grant. I just don't want to…." Before she said anything she would regret, she headed down the stairs and out the door before her detail could realize what was happening. Liv was already on the beach, sand on her feet before Toby was able to jump up and follow her. He was having trouble seeing in the darkness on the beach.
Breezing by Toby, knowing she was faster than he was for the moment, she built momentum in her steps. She wasn't going to be held prisoner, she never wanted this. Everything was going so well, they were finally a family, they were supposed to be safe, but that wasn't a reality, was it?
She wasn't expecting the movement she captured with her eyes, submerging from what seemed like the waters from the ocean.
Dez had worked diligently and carefully to execute his plans to bring down the Governor and all around him, especially the Putney killer Olivia. That bitch was first on Dez's list. He knew the security she had surrounding her, but he also knew there was someone on the inside no one could pinpoint. That frustrated Dez and was the one piece holding him back.
Dez couldn't pinpoint him either, but that wasn't going to stop Dez from out manning the Governor, and he was working on recruiting who he needed for his team. He killed anyone, without hesitation, that turned on him. He had his ways of finding out.
Governor Grant thought he was smart, getting the Bureau of Investigations on Dez's tail. Jax owned someone everywhere and that organization was no exception. Dez was one step ahead and he knew it. If he wasn't, he would be dead by now.
He was on his way now, ready to put the first major hit in action for his organization. He was unstoppable and as much as the state of California loved their Governor and his First Lady, they would soon see how easily he left the citizens vulnerable.
Yes, Dez was on a mission, and it would be his dead body that stopped the mission. He pulled his new phone out of his pocket, and he made the first call to set his directive in motion. First up, Little Mrs. Grant herself.
Huck jumped up in his chair as his headphones gave a ping. He was never so fucking excited to hear a ping like that. "I got you, you fucker." He looked at his screen as it lit up with a location point. Dez had no idea his new phone was a product of the Bureau and it had tracking on it that could be signaled from the moon.
"Yeah, you piece of shit, I have tricks of my own, and trust me, I've won more dangerous games then you. I'm winning this game of Dezopoly, you prick. You're going down." He began to push rapidly on the keys when another sound came through.
It was Liv's phone. The sound was muffled on the other end, and he heard a squeal. Huck squinted at the phone, as it stayed on, but no talking from Liv. He ran towards the beach house in hopes that there was some misunderstanding, maybe she dropped her phone. The only thing, he had to risk losing Dez now, but Liv was Huck's priority. On his sprint to the beach house, he dialed Fitz's phone, and it went right to voicemail. Something definitely was not right.
