By the way, I'm sorry for the delay into posting this chapter but my life has been a little has been a mess for these 3 years on hiatus.
I traded jobs and had some personal problems but right now everything is going well and I'm gonna start posting every weekend a chapter for you guys to read.

Chapter VIII
Ordinary People
At the Old Lockwood Cellar, Eva, Elena and Alaric were walking through the tunnel in the cellar.
"So, the Lockwood family really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property?" Elena asked them surprised by that.
"Careful where you shine that thing. Bats hate the light." Alaric said with a little smirk.
"Wait, what?" Elena asked looking around.
"Elena!" Damon whispered in her ear when he had come up secretly and when she turned around and saw him. "Boo!" He said with a shout.
"Ah! God, Damon!" Elena said gasping after jumping from the fright.
"Scaredy-cat!" Damon said with a smirk and laughing.
"Just ignore him. That's what I do." Alaric said a smirk too which made Eva laugh because they were all bickering and that was what they need.
"Why are laughing, Eva?" Alaric asked her with a smile too because he understood the reasons why she was laughing.
"Because this bickering makes me remember that we need a little of bickering and fights between siblings with all of this." Eva said with a smile and the other two agreed with her too.
"So, you really can't get in?" Elena asked Damon.
"No. Seems even the ancient Lockwoods were anti-vampire." Damon said with sarcasm lacing his voice.
"What do you mean, ancient?" Elena asked him understanding the ancient meant really ancient.
"See for yourself." Damon said pointing for her to see and they walked further into the tunnels, to the cave with drawings on the walls. "Well, this is as far as I get to go." The raven haired vampire explained to her.
"What is all this?" Elena asked entering the chamber and shining her flashlight on the walls with the drawings.
"Well, as far as I can tell, it's a story. In simple, archaeological terms, it's a really, really old story." Alaric explained to the twins and pointed at the wall. "That right there, is the moon cycle." He continued and pointed at another drawing. "A man, a wolf." Alaric said looking at the twins, meaning Klaus.
"A werewolf." Elena said staring at the drawings.
"Yeah, it's the Lockwood Diaries: Pictionary-Style." Damon said with a smirk on his lips.
"I don't understand. I thought the Lockwoods came here with the Original Founders in the 1860's." Elena said to the others.
"I think that it wasn't the Founding Families who found the town." Eva said already suspecting it was the Original Family.
"I don't know. Maybe the Lockwoods did, but according to this wall, these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that." Alaric explained to them.
"How long?" Elena asked with some fear on her voice.
"Long. It gets better. Show them, Ric." Damon said to Alaric.
"Names. They're not native. They're written in Runic, a Viking script." Alaric explained to the girls.
"Vikings?" Eva asked him.
" I think you were right. It wasn't the Founding Families that found the town. This name here, I translated it and it reads Niklaus." Alaric said pointing to the name.
"Klaus." Eva said already understandinf what he meant earlier.
"And Elijah... and Rebekah." Alaric said pointing to the others names.
"The Original Family." Eva said nodding her head.

Around the 900's, in Mystic Falls, Rebekah was using a knife to carve her name in runic into the cave wall and Klaus was standing behind her, watching while holding a burning wooden torch.
"Rebekah, let me have at it!" Klaus said hoping that his sister would give him the knife.
"Quiet, Niklaus! I am to have more concentration if I am not to slice off a finger." The blonde woman said to her brother.
"Father will not like you handling the blade." Klaus advised his little sister.
"If I want to wield a blade, I shall wield a blade! Father need not know." Rebekah simply riplied to her brother.
"He will find out. He always does." Klaus said to his sister simply because it was true.
"That is because you always tell him." Rebekah said to her brother with a smirk.
"I cannot help it... he frightens me." Klaus said with fear on his voice.
"He frightens us all. That is why we stick together as one, always and forever. Right, traitor?" Rebekah said smiling at him.
"Right." Klaus said smiling back at his sister.
"Here. You finish it. I am to help mother with the meal." Rebekah said to her giving him the knife.
"Yes, go tend to dinner, and leave the blades to the men, little sister." Klaus said with some sarcasm and Rebekah retorted by slamming the knife blade-side down into his palm, slicing it open. "Agh, Bekah!" Klaus said wincing in pain.
"It's just a little blood. Be a man about it." Rebekah said with a smirk and left to help their mother prepare the meal.

Back to the present, Damon, Eva, Elena and Alaric were still in the old Lockwood cellar talking and taking pictures.
"These are the names of the Original Family?" Elena asked with a curious voice.
"Carved into a cave that's been here since way before the founding of Mystic Falls. Or even the entire New World, for that matter." Alaric concluded to them.
"So, one of reasons that Klaus used that alter here in Mystic Falls." Eva concluded while she remembered the ritual.
"Okay, this has gotta be one of Klaus's fakes." Elena said with so much certain.
"That's what I said." Damon said agreeing with Elena.
"That could be true, except the last name up here made us think otherwise." Alaric said to the twins.
"What's the name?" Elena asked him.
"Mikael." Alaric said to them.
"Mikael… Mikael, as in, the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus?" Elena asked him surprised.
"Yep. I now like to call him Papa Original." Damon said with sarcasm while Alaric was taking photos of the drawings.
"Which means, that this Mikael could be our chance to kill Klaus? Because he knows him better than anyone?" Eva asked with a edge on her voice.
"Exactly." Damon said with a smirk.

At Alaric's apartment, Alaric was looking at the photos that he had taken on his desk, while Damon was helping Elena with her combat training and Eva was with Alaric looking at the photos.
"These images tell a story... to learn the story, you have to decipher these images." Alaric said to Eva whose was looking at the writing that said Rebekah.
"Exactly." Eva agreed with him.
"Sloppy!" Damon said to her while he effortlessly disarmed Elena, who had tried to stake him.
"Shut up! I'm new at this." Elena said grabbing the stake.
"Ghost of Christmas Past Mason Lockwood set up the cave and led us to a weapon that can kill Klaus." Damon said to them because he had be a way to kill Klaus.
"Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon?" Elena asked them.
"Yes. Which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikael, who we have already found... and lost." Damon said while he overwhelmed Elena again. "Bang! You are dead!" He said and went to nibble on Elena's neck to show her that he could it if she wasn't paying attention while she pushed him away playfully and walked over to Alaric at his desk where Eva was still watching the names on the wall.
"These images at the very least might tell us what that weapon is." Alaric said to them.
"Then all we have to do is find out what they mean." Elena said to them watching her sister because she still was watching the pictures.
"Fine! Fine! If I am being irritatingly optimistic like you two... how do you suppose we do that?" Damon asked to them trying to understand their plan.
"Well, if the story is about the Original Family living here, then we go straight to the source!" Eva said stating to them.

At the Mystic Falls High School, Rebekah was with the rest of the cheerleading squad at practice, doing a series of gymnastic moves, when Eva and Elena walked up to her.
"You! Goody." Rebekah said when she saw Elena.
"I was hoping we could talk." Elena said to Rebekah.
"About what? Stefan? Don't worry, I'm off him until he starts treating me better. In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest." Rebekah said with sarcasm on her voice.
"It is important." Elena said to her.
"Actually, I would rather talk about this." Eva said while helding up a photo of Rebekah's name written in runic on the cave wall that they had found the night before on the old cellar on the Lockwood propriety. "My sister and I curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years running from your father." Eva said with a serious tone looking at the blonde vampire.
"I should get back to the girls. Homecoming's right around the corner." Rebekah said and turned aound to leave.
"Well then, maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him." Elena said already knowing the plans that her sister had.
"You're bluffing! You don't know where he is. No one does." Rebekah said walking over to the twins.
"So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?" Elena asked Rebekah this time with a smirk.
"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!" Rebekah shouted at the girls.
"So then, tell us." Eva said to Rebekah.
"Why do you want to know?" Rebekah asked them.
"Why don't you want us to wake him?" Eva asked her again.
"I need to get back to the girls." Rebekah said turning around and walked back towards the squad, shaken bu what she had heard.

In the ancients times, the Original Family was in their village, Rebekah saw her brothers Niklaus and Elijah fighting several yards away.
"Come on Henrik, our brothers are fighting again!" Rebekah said to her little brother.
"Oh look, our sister has arrived to watch my fast approaching victory!" Elijah said to his brother in the middle of the sword fight when he saw Rebekah and Henrik ran towards them to watch.
"On the contrary, Elijah..." Klaus said while swinging the sword and cut Elijah's belt off his waist. "She's come to laugh at you!" Klaus said while his parents approached their children as they were laughing together.
"Relax, Mikael. Niklaus means well." The woman said to her husband.
"That is precisely my problem." Mikael said to his wife while he approached the boys and all of the sudden they stopped laughing, then he took Elijah's sword and turns to his other son, Klaus. "So, why don't you teach me that trick, young warrior?" Mikael said to the blonde boy and they started to sword fight.
"Father, we were just having fun." Klaus said dogding his father sword.
"We fight for our survival! And you find time for fun?! I want to have fun! Teach me! Come on!" Mikael said and continued to swing his sword at Klaus.
"Father, it was nothing..." Klaus trying to defend himself when Mikael disarmed him without effort and slammed him on his back on the ground then he set the sword at Klaus's throat.
"You are foolish and impulsive, my boy. What? No more laughter?" Mikael said to him with a stern look.
"You've made your point, Mikael!" The woman said to his husband sternly and Mikael stabbed the sword on the ground right next to Klaus head.
"Some days, it's a miracle you're still alive, boy." Mikael said while getting up and left them alone.

At Alaric's apartment, he was looking at the photos and he wrote vampire on a post-it note and placed it on one of the pictures. Alaric picked up another picture and compared it to the one he just stucked the post-it note on. He saw that the other picture has a circle with a squiggly outline that looks more like a sun, so he switched the vampire post-it to the other picture and wrote werewolf on another post-it and placed it onto the first picture.

Outside the apartment, Eva was on the phone with Damon while she and Elena were walking up the stairs to Alaric's apartment. Damon was walking down the stairs at the city jail.
"She's going to tell me. She's scared of him, Damon. I saw her face. I just have to engage in a little mean girl power struggle first." Eva said to him with a smirk on her lips.
"Well, make sure she doesn't power struggle you into a wheelchair." Damon said worried for his girlfriend.
"I've got this, Damon. If we can figure out a way to kill Klaus, Stefan will be free of his compulsion and my sister can finally be happy. So... how does he look?" Eva asked to her boyfriend because he went to see Stefan.
"Mmm... pasty and pouty." Damon said looking through the cell door window at Stefan and saw him tied in the chair while his head was bowed as he sleept.
"He'll have to get over it. Call me later." Eva said to her boyfriend before hanging up.

"Rebekah will come around." Eva said when she and Elena got inside the apartment.
"You're sure about that? I mean a thousand-year-old vampire, I'm sure, has learned the art of patience." Alaric said with with sarcasm and while he was speaking, Eva received a text message: Come over for a chat and bring your sister. Rebekah.
"She's a thousand-year-old vampire, who's joined the cheerleader squad and there is a whole different set of rules that play here, Ric. I got this." Eva said helding up her phone to show him the text. "Let's go, Lena."

At the City Jail, Damon got inside Stefan's cell while he raised his head and looked at his brother, Damon.
"You know, if you two are gonna keep me locked in here for the next decade, I think we can skip the routine visits." Stefan said to Damon with sarcasm.
"You know I'm not a big champion in this whole Lexi-Recovery-Plan... but Elena thinks this place is gonna weaken you up, break you down and make you feel again... but Eva thinks that you only need to lear how control your blood lust. Lear from me, because I can control myself." Damon said to him in the same tone.
"We should all listen to Elena, right? I mean her plans always work out so well, don't they? Why are you here?" Stefan asked him still using sarcasm on his voice.
"What are you talking about? It's Family Day at Vampire Rehab! So, I'm paying a visit to my baby brother." Damon said with a smirk on his lips.
"Go away." Stefan said to him not wanting to hear him.
"Nahhhhh. I thought we could hang out, a little brother bonding. How have you been, Stef? Huh?" Damon asked him with the same smirk on his lips.
"You know, Klaus may wanna keep Elena and Eva alive, but that doesn't mean they are safe with Rebekah..." Stefan started to say to his brother for him to see reason.
"Liar, liar pants on fire, brother. Klaus compelled you to protect Elena and Eva, but my girl has me to protect her, and if you thought for even a second that they were in danger, you'd be working a lot harder." Damon said to Stefan with sarcasm.
"You got me. You got me!" Stefan said to his brother with sarcasm on his voice.
"Yep." Damon said with sarcasm as well.
"You got me. You're good. Congratulations! You can go now." Stefan said staring at his brother.
"You really have given up." Damon finally concluded looking at him.
"Actually, this is my happy face..." Stefan said with sarcasm while the raven haired vampire was considering something for a moment and broke the chains binding his hands and feet which would free Stefan from the cell. "What are you doing?" Stefan asked a little socked with what Damon had done.
"Screw this Lexi-plan. I think we could both use a drink." Damon said and walked out of the jail.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, the twins got inside the house and they heard music, while Rebekah walked into the foyer with champagne glasses.
"Hey! What's up?" Rebekah said cheerfully when she saw them.
"You invited me and my sister over? To talk?" Elena said to Rebekah.
"All right girls, have at it!" Rebekah shouted and six girls in various jewel-toned colored homecoming dresses walk in the room. "Okay, now twirl please." Rebekah ordered and they twirl and show off the dresses.
"You compelled your own private runway show?" Elena asked surprised by that.
"I need a Homecoming dress. So, what do you think? Pick one of the dresses." Rebekah ordered to Elena.
"I like the red one." Eva said to Rebekah because if they did what Rebekah asked she would tell them everything.
"I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up your father, Mikael." Elena said to Rebekah and Eva glared at her sister. Elena was going to blow up their plan.
"I said pick one, Elena." Rebekah said rushing over to one of the girls, grabbed her neck and vamped out.
"The... red one." Elena said choising the same as her sister.
"There. It wasn't so hard, was it?" Rebekah said to Elena and then turned to the girls. "Go away. Remember nothing." She said compelling them while the girls started to leave and she picked up her champagne glass and walked to Elena. "You do not threaten me. You'll learn what I allow you to learn. Is that clear?" She said to Elena because she didn't like to be ordered around like Klaus has be doing all of her life and Elena nodded her head agreeing with her with some fear on her eyes. "You only came because I told your sister to bring you." Rebekah said and walked past them while the girls watched her going into the living room.

At Alaric's apartment, someone knocked on Alaric's door then opened it and it was Bonnie that it was outside.
"Hey there!" Bonnie said to Alaric.
"Bonnie! Come on in!" Alaric said letting Bonnie getting inside his house.
"Got your message." Bonnie said to her teacher.
"Yeah, great! Uh, I'm sorry the place is such a mess. I'm obsessed..." Alaric said looking around his apartment.
"I brought you the necklace that wouldn't die." Bonnie said helding up Elena's necklace in her hands.
"Ahh, that's great." Alaric said to the tanned witch while he looked at Bonnie and saw that she had a sad look on her face. "You okay?" He asked her.
"Been better..." Bonnie said to Alaric with a sad look.
"Listen, Jeremy is an idiot. And I know this with certainty, because I was once a Jeremy too. Trust me, we learn... eventually..." Alaric said and then he held up one of the photos to show her what he had found. "So, I have been staring at this image all day, wondering why it looked so familiar." The vampire hunter said and held up the necklace, whose charm is the same shape as the drawing. "I was right." He said and held up the necklace pendant next to the photo.
"It's the same design." Bonnie said looking at the photo and the necklace.
"So, your grandmother said this necklace belonged to the witch that put the hybrid curse on Klaus, right? Well, this symbol is repeated all across the wall. I've been trying to figure out what it meant. And now I know..." Alaric said and he wrote something on a post-it, stuck it to the photo and showed Bonnie, the post-it says witch.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Rebekah opened the door to Stefan's room and got inside while Eva and Elena stayed at the doorway.
"How fun is this...?" Rebekah said and started opening drawers.
"We shouldn't be here..." Elena said to Rebekah because she didn't like that the blonde vampire was going through Stefan's things.
"'Course we should! Come on, like you've never wanted to snoop." Rebekah said and held up Stefan's underwear. "Boxer briefs. A lot has changed since the twenties." She said showing to the girls.
"Are you gonna root through his stuff all night or are you gonna start to tell me and my sister your story?" Elena asked Rebekah.
"Ah... you really are no fun. What do you want to know?" Rebekah asked them while the girls walked into the room.
"Well, Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?" Eva asked Rebekah speaking for the first time.
"My parents had just started a family, when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate." The blonde vampire said still going through Stefan's stuff.
"So, how did you end up here? This part of the world hadn't even been discovered yet by anyone." Elena asked to the original.
"Not by anyone in your history books." Rebekah said laughing and then turned to the girls to continue to explain. "But my mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy... blessed by the gifts of speed and strength. That lead my family here, where we lived amongst those people." The blonde original said once again.
"The werewolves?" Eva asked Rebekah.
"To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lived in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children, including me." Rebekah said to them with a nostalgic look.
"You make it sound so normal." Eva said thinking about her own family.
"It was." Rebekah said with a sad look on her face. "Once a month our family retreated into the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night and by morning we'd return home..." Rebekah said to the girls.

In the 900's, Rebekah was looking at different sorts of necklaces and talismans hanging on a rope in the window of the house of one witch and she touches one, it was Elena's necklace, and it burned her fingers.
"Ayana, you burned me!" Rebekah said to the tanned witch.
"That is not yours to touch." Ayana said to Rebekah with a kind smile.
"Mother!" Klaus screamed from outside.
"Is that Niklaus? Something is wrong." Rebekah said to Ayana and saw that Klaus was carrying the dead body of his little brother Henrik. "Henrik!" The blonde vampire shouted when she saw her brother.
"Mother!" Klaus shouted once again for his mother.

"One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother Henrik snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden. Henrik paid the price..." Rebekah said looking at the twins.

"No, no! What happened?" The mother of the originals said with despair on her voice for seeing her younger son death..
"The wolves! I am sorry, I'm so sorry!" Klaus said with despair because his little brother was dead.
"We must save him. Please, there must be a way!" The woman said to her friend Ayana.
"The spirits will not give us a way, Esther. Your boy is gone." The tanned witch, Ayana said to the woman.
"No! No!" Esther said while she was clutching Henrik's body.

Still inside of Stefan's room, Rebekah still had a distant look on her face.
"And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors… And one of the last moments my family had together as humans." Rebekah said to them when Eva's phone vibrated which snapped Rebekah from her memories. "You better get that. That'll be your boyfriend checking up on you." The blonde original said to Eva.
"Hello?" Eva said answering her phone.
"Hey!" Damon said into the phone.
"Damon, where are you?" Eva asked her boyfriend.
"No idea, but I'm pretty sure I'm overdressed... Still standing?" Damon said looking around the bar where the music was being played loudly.
"Yes, I'm fine, but I can't talk right now." Eva said to her boyfriend.
"I'll be at the bar." Stefan said to his brother and went to the bar.
"Is that Stefan?" Eva asked him after hearing his voice which made Elena look at her sister when she mentioning her boyfriend's name.
"Yeah, I kinda went off a bit. Don't worry. I know what I'm doing." Damon said to his girlfriend.
"Damon! How could you let him out?" Elena shouted at him knowing that he would hear her from the other side.

At the bar, Damon and Stefan were talking.
"Tell your sister, that I got this back, Eva." Damon said to his girlfriend before he hanged up the call. "What are we drinking?" The raven haired vampire asked to his brother.
"Hopefully something a little bit warmer... and a little bit blonder..." Stefan said while he was eyeing the blonde bartender behind the bar.
"Hi!" The waitress approached the two brothers.
"Hello..." Damon said and checked her name tag. "Callie. I would love a shot of your best whiskey, and my brother here would love…" The raven haired vampire said and he started to compel her. "A shot of you." Damon said with a smirk.
"What's the catch, Damon?" Stefan asked to his brother looking up at him.
"No catch, brother. Drink up. It's on me." Damon said while Stefan grabbed Callie's wrist and bite her. "Hi Callie." The older Salvatore said leaning over to hide them.

Eva and Elena were still with Rebekah in the Bording House, waiting for her to continue her story for when she was human but Elena was worried that Stefan was on the loose, once again.
"Damon knows what he is doing, Lena." Eva said to her sister.
"Are you sure?" Elena asked to Eva with a worried voice.
"Yes, I'm sure." Eva said to her sister with a smile and Elena nodded her head believing in her sister.

Much later and still in the bar, the Salvatore brothers were playing quarters and Callie was sitting on Stefan's lap.
"Drink up brother!" Stefan said flipping a coin into the glass.
"You get us a bottle of this?" Damon asked helding up an empty whiskey bottle.
"Yes, sir." Callie said and left the brothers alone.
"You been on this bunny diet for a better part of fifty years. So, how is it that Saint Stefan, of all people, is good at a drinking game?" Damon asked him surprised.
"Oh, the bunny diet gave me a lot of time to practice." Stefan said with a smirk on his lips looking at his brother.
"Hmm..." Damon said thinking at the same time.
"Wallow in despair." Stefan said while he flipped a coin into the glass in front of him and his brother. "Drown in guilt." He continued and flipped another coin into the glass he had flipped the first coin. "Regret my existence." Stefan said while he flipped a third coin in a row into the glass. "It's precision born out of tragic boredom. Drink up, brother!" Stefan said to Damon.
"All that effort wasted trying to tell you how boring you are, and now you finally agree with me?" Damon asked him with sarcasm.
"Damon, you are worse than Elena. Getting me drunk, brotherly bonding… what do you think, I'll break down and you can pull me back from the edge, is that it?" Stefan asked his brother with sarcasm too.
"I happen to like the edge, Stefan! Your problem is your inability to resist the falling over it. All or nothing, man. You can't just be." Damon explained to his brother and Callie came back with another bottle of whiskey while sat down on Stefan's lap again smiling at the boys. "Although, who am I to judge?" Damon said while he flipped a coin and landed in into the glass. "Drink up, brother!" The raven haired vampire said helding out Callie's arm out towards Stefan.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, the girls and the Original vampire were still on the younger Salvatore brother's room. Rebekah was lying on the bed and was going through one of Stefan's diaries.
"Did you get your fill of snooping yet? Can we get on with the story?" Elena asked to the original with some sarcasm on her voice.
"Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple." Rebekah said while getting up and then went to pick up a photo of Elena and Stefan from a table.
"Why would you? You don't know anything about who he really is." Elena continued to speak with disdain on her voice.
"Please, Lena. Don't provoke her!" Eva pleaded with her sister.
"I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire. We're a predatory species." Rebekah said leaning close to Elena's face. "We don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives." She finished with a smirk on her face.
"Is that why you did that runway show earlier? Because you don't care about the our homecoming dance... You know what, I'm just gonna go." Elena said getting up and Eva was going to fall her sister.
"You haven't even heard half the story." Rebekah said to the girls.
"And you are not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around. Find someone else to play with... maybe you can compel yourself a friend." Elena said and started to leave and Eva was going with her.
"The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give. It belonged to the Original Witch." Rebekah stated to Elena.
"The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus?" Elena asked Rebekah turning around.
"Not just the hybrid curse. She's the one who turned us into vampires." Rebekah said with a far look on her face.
"What?" Eva asked surprised when she heard that.

In the 900's, in their house, Mikael, Esther and Ayana were standing in a room lit by a fire and torches.
"Please, Ayana! I implore you! You must call upon the spirits before the next full moon this month." Mikael pleaded to the tanned witch.
"I will not! It is a crime against nature." Ayana said to Mikael with a shout.
"Ayana, we have already lost too much. We cannot lose any more... The spirits can help us find a way to protect our children." Esther said to the tanned woman while Rebekah was eavesdropping from the next room.

Still inside Stefan's room, Rebekah was looking at the girls with the same far look on her face because she was remembering the past.
"I'm thirsty. Do you want a drink?" Rebekah said and went down the stairs to the library with Elena and Eva following her.
"So, vampirism was a form of protection?" Eva asked to Rebekah wanting to know and was hoping to come cross the story why she was supposed to be with one of her brothers.
"What else would it be?" Rebekah asked them with a surprised look.
"A curse?" Elena asked with sarcasm on her voice.
"My parents only saw a way of keeping their children alive." Rebekah said to Elena.
"Lena, imagine if it was me, you and Jeremy? Mom and Dad would do the same thing to protect us." Eva said because she saw the point of view of two parents.
"Yeah, but why stay, if they were so afraid of the werewolves? Why not... leave?" Elena asked her because she was surprised that they could have left.
"Pride... My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves. Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster. Agility, strength, senses..." Rebekah explained to the girls.

In the 900's, inside the house of the Mikaelsons, Mikael, Esther and Ayana continued talking about a way to protect their family.
"Everything could be heightened. Our family could live forever..." Mikael said to Ayana.
"At what cost? This magic you speak of breeds consequence. This is the makings of a plague, Esther. The spirits will turn on you." Ayana continued to advise them.
"Please, Ayana." Esther pleaded to Ayana.
"I will have no part in it." Ayana said leaving their home.
"If she will not protect our family... then it is in your hands alone, my love." Mikael said after closing the door and turning to his wife.

At the Boarding House, present day, Eva, Elena and Rebekah were walking downstairs to the library.
"In her hands? How could she do anything?" Elena asked with curiosity.
"Because my mother was also a witch." Rebekah said to the girls.
"What?" Eva asked surprised.
"The witch of the Original Family. The Original Witch?" Rebekah asked like it was obvious when they got inside the library. "Where do they keep their best vintage?" The blonde original asked going through the shelves.
"But if your mother was a witch, then..." Elena asked her thinking that they could be witches too because they pass through generations.
"Am I? No, a witch is nature's servant; a vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other, never both. My mother did this for us. She did not turn." The blonde vampire continued to explain.
"How did you turn?" Eva asked her because she knew how vampires turned but didn't know how the Originals became vampires.
"She called upon the sun for life, and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal objects, for immortality. That night, my father offered us wine laced with blood. And then he drove his sword through our hearts." Rebekah explained to them.
"He killed you?" Elena asked whispering and a stunned look.
"And he wasn't delicate about it either." Rebekah said taking a bottle of wine, broke its neck off with one motion of her hand and threw it into the fireplace.

In 900's, shortly after Mikael turned the children into vampires, Rebekah and Klaus wore awaken on the floor with blood on their clothes.
"Rebekah..." Klaus said waking up to his sister.
"Blood! What happened?" Rebekah said gasping an then touched her nightgown where she had been stabbed by her father.
"You will be alright! We will all be alright." Klaus said with a assuring voice to his sister with his hand on her arm when Mikael entered with a girl. "What are you doing?" He asked confused and scared.
"We must finish what we started!" Mikael said pushing the village girl onto her knees in front of them. "You have to drink if you want to live." He ordered to them and cut the girl's wrist open.

"We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual." Rebekah said looking at the girls which were stunned by her father's attitude.
"Just like we humans have to do when we turned." Eva said because Damon already had explained to her how to become a vampire.
"You already decided then, Eva?" Elena asked her sister.
"Yeah, I did." Eva said nodding her head and gave the signal to Rebekah to continue.
"Are you sure?" Elena asked to her sister to be certain.
"I am." Eva nodded her head with a smile.
"If you wanna be a vampire you need to listen this, Eva." Rebekah said and continued her story about her life in the beginning of being a vampire.

"Drink!" Mikael ordered to Rebekah and she hesitated. "Drink!" Mikael ordered once again and Klaus tried to stop him, but Mikael pushed him aside and Rebekah started to drink the girl's blood. "Drink!" Mikael shouted at her and Rebekah started to drink deeply, and dark veins appeared around her eyes.

"It was euphoric! The feeling of power was indescribable... but the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us, and nature fought back… For every strength there would be a weakness..." Rebekah explained and one of her memories was about her being burned by sunlight through the window.

"The sun became our enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks..." Rebekah remembered that she was walking around outside during the day, glancing at her daylight ring.
"And though my mother found a solution, there were other problems..." The blonde vampire continued remembering that the villagers are seen running into their homes at the sight of Rebekah coming toward them to speak. "Neighbors who had opened their homes to us could now keep us out." The original remembered that she touched vervain and got burned by it.
"Flowers at the base of the white oak burned, and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away... so we burned it to the ground." Rebekah said while she remembered that she watched the huge tree is seen enveloped in flames, as Mikael, Elijah, Rebekah and Klaus watch.
"But the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated..." Rebekah said and once again she was inside her head remembering her memories where the villagers were seen carrying a slaughtered pig tied to a rod to be spit-roasted.
"The hunger. Blood... had made us reborn and it was blood that we craved above it all else. We could not control it..." Rebekah said while she was immersed in her memories and remembering that she used to be seen staring at the villagers, making her gasp and trying to resist, but then vamped out using her vampire speed, hurried to them and killed them by feeding on them. "And with that, the predatory species was born..." She concluded her story.

Still at the bar, Damon was dancing on a table with two girls but without touching them because he would never cheat on his girlfriend while Stefan was feeding on Callie's neck, although it appeared that he was kissing her on the neck. A woman stopped and watched what Stefan was doing. Damon showed up and compelled the woman to forget and move along, grabbing her scarf.
"Nothing to see here!" Damon said compelling the woman. "Just run along, okay?" He said to her and the woman left and then Damon turned to his brother that still was drinking from Callie. "Hey, hey ease up! Ease up." Damon said grabbing and dragged his brother away. "She is giving us her employee discount." The raven haired vampire said and tied a scarf around her neck and compelled her to forget what was happened to her. "And now, just run along." Damon ordered to her and Carrie walked away. The brothers went to the bar, sat down and ordered drinks where a male bartender is working. "Two more!" Damon said to the guy.
"Alright! Tell me what's up. What's the point of the jailbreak, hm?" Stefan said to his brother with sarcasm.
"I thought you could use a hug, Stefan." Damon said to his brother with a smirk.
"Come on, Damon. You know Elena is gonna hate you for letting me out. And we both know that you care about what she thinks because she is a sister to you..." Stefan said to his brother with a smirk too.
"Maybe I wanted to remind you what freedom was like, before Klaus took it away from you." Damon said to his brother.
"As long as Klaus is alive, I do what he says." Stefan reminded his brother.
"That's my point, Stefan. You've given up! Now you could sit around and be his little bitch, or you get mad enough and you can do something about it." Damon stated to his brother about that.
"Damon, he can't be killed." Stefan stated to him.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Eva and Elena were still with Rebekah in the library trying to get more information.
"Why did Mikael started hunting Klaus?" Eva asked Rebekah.
"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene. With that, he became my father's greatest shame." Rebekah explained how they discovered that Klaus had the werewolf gene.
"Yeah. Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son." Elena said to Rebekah.
"She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and then she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage which made him kill half the village. Then he came home and killed her." Rebekah explained to the girls what her father had done.
"Mikael killed your mother?" Elena asked surprised by that.
"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched." Rebekah said to the girls with a sad look.

"Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed, so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother." Rebekah said to the girls.

Rebekah and Klaus were standing side by side at the grave.
"I know you think she hated you, Niklaus, but she did not. She was just afraid. I'm sorry she turned her back on you. I will never do that." Rebekah said to he brother defending their mother.
"Nor will I." Elijah promised to his brother when he joined them.
"We stick together as one. Always and forever." Rebekah said to her brothers and they all hold hands in a circle around the grave.

In the present day, inside the Salvatore Boarding House, the twins were still with Rebekah and Eva still dind't know why the Originals wanted to protect her.
"Always and forever... even though he locked you in a coffin for ninety years?" Elena asked to her surprised by that statement.
"We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik... Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times." Rebekah said defending her brother.
"But you still love him?" Elena asked her because of what Klaus had done to her.
"He's my brother. And I'm immortal. Should I spend an eternity alone instead? You've heard the story, it's time to go. I said leave, girls! I don't know what you're up to, but I'm no longer playing along." Rebekah shouted at the girls.
"I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael." Eva said to her looking at her directly on the eyes.
"And I've given you a thousand! But you will anyway. I know you want him to help you kill my brother, I'm not stupid." Rebekah stated to them.
"It's no secret that I want Klaus dead. He has a hold over Stefan's life, over my sister's life and over mine." Elena said to Rebekah.
"Do what you need. Wake Mikael at your own peril. But make no mistake, if you come after my brother, I will rip you apart and I get my temper from my father. Now leave! The two of you!" Rebekah shoted to the girls and both Eva and Elena left her alone.

Still back at the bar, Mikael was interrogating Stefan while Damon was watching them.
"Is Klaus out of the country?" Mikael asked Stefan.
"I can't tell you." Stefan stated to Mikael.
"Has he spoken to you since he left?" Mikael asked Stefan once again.
"I can't tell you." Stefan said once again.
"All right. Can you tell me the last time you spoke to Niklaus?" Mikael asked Stefan.
"I'm compelled to do what he says, and he says to keep my damn mouth shut." Stefan said to Mikael.
"I really hope this game of twenty questions isn't your secret weapon." Damon said with sarcasm on his voice.
"You see, Damon..." Mikael said and put his hand on Damon's shoulder. "I've been a vampire hunter longer than you've been alive. It's why I found you here. It's why I'm gonna find Niklaus." The vampire finished.
"Well, Klaus has been running for about thousand years, so if you think you can get a work around here..." Damon said and Mikael slammed his hand into Damon's chest.
"Careful, Stefan. One move and his heart's gone." Mikael said to Stefan and plunged his hand deeper. "Now, where is Klaus? What's the trick question, Stefan? One twist and he's dead. Unless you don't care of course." Mikael said to Stefan.
"His emotions have been shut off. He can't care." Damon said gasping for air.
"Really? His link to Klaus is so strong that he will let his own brother die? No ideas, hmm? Think, Stefan! I guess you're right. He's a dead end. And so are you, Damon." The vampire hunter said and jerked his hand in Damon's chest.
"Wait! I can bring him back. I can lure Klaus back to Mystic Falls." Stefan said to Mikael to save his brother's life.
"And there is our loophole. Just had to rile him up a bit. Get Klaus back to Mystic Falls, and I will gladly drive a stake through his heart. Fail, I'll drive it through yours." Mikael said taking his hand out of Damon's chest and wiped it off with a rag that he took from the counter.

At the Old Lockwood Cellar, Alaric, Elena, Eva and Bonnie were in the cave that had the drawings on the walls.
"We filled in what we could." Alaric explained to the girls while he sticked the post-its to the different symbols that were on the wall of the cave at the old cellar. "A vampire, werewolf, slaughter, mayhem, etc." He continued to explain to them.
"That's the white oak tree that was used in the spell to create the vampires... which means that was when they burned down the tree, destroying the only way that they could be killed." Elena said to Alaric after seeing the image of the tree.
"Okay, so tree equals weapon, sort of. We already knew that. What we are not sure about is this: we've got the witch symbol, and what looks like a bleeding heart. Upside down figures usually signified death, of some kind." Alaric continued to explain to the girls.
"Mikael killed the witch by ripping out her heart. But... why is that one connected to the witch's death?" Eva asked them trying to understand.
"We don't know. We haven't gotten that far." Bonnie said to them.
"Oh my god... Rebekah doesn't know the real story." Elena said looking at the revelations that she had heard today and what Alaric and Bonnie had said to them.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Rebekah is pouring herself a glass of scotch when Elena and Eva , which Elena had the photos of the cave drawings.
"I thought I told you to leave. Twice." Rebekah said to the girls.
"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?" Eva asked Rebekah already a little suspection that Klaus had lied to her.
"Nik was there. He told me." Rebekah said to them.
"He lied to you." Elena stated to Rebekah.
"And how do you know that?" Rebekah asked them not liking where they were going with that statement.
"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered in symbols." Eva said taking the photos from Elena's hands and showing to Rebekah. "The story of your family: how your parents arrived, how they made peace, the spell that turned them into vampires, and this. This is the symbol for hybrid. It's a combination of the werewolf and the vampire symbol. And this is the one for your mother." Eva finally explained to her.
"Her necklace." Rebekah touching the image.
"And this is the story of her death. The hybrid killed the Original Witch not Mikael. It was Klaus." Elena stated once again to Rebekah.
"No! No, he wouldn't." Rebekah said almost not believing her words.
"She put the curse on him, made it so that he would be the only one of his kind, and then she rejected him. With the werewolf gene comes aggression and violence... when he turned, all of that was heightened. He killed her, Rebekah. And then he made up this entire lie about your father, so that he wouldn't lose you." Eva stated to Rebekah hoping she would believe in them.
"These mean nothing! They're just stupid drawings, done by stupid people who had no idea who my family was!" Rebekah said and took the photos from Eva's hands while she tearing them to pieces and then threw them into the burning fireplace.
"Then why are you so upset?" Elena asked Rebekah already knowing the truth.
"Why are you doing this to me? I've done nothing to you!" Rebekah shouted at the girls.
"Klaus killed your mother. He has a hold on you, on me, on my sister, on everyone. He has for a thousand years. We have to make it stop!" Eva shouted at Rebekah because she was sick of her and Klaus saying she was destined to be with one brother of them when she wanted Damon. Then Rebekah grabbed Eva by the throat and vamped out.
"Shut up! Shut up! Don't talk anymore! Nothing!" Rebekah said stopping and calmed down, and let go of Eva. She began to gasp, falling onto her knees and started to sob, while Elena and Eva looked at her sadly and guiltily.

At the bar, Damon and Stefan were walking outside.
"I'll give you ten points for flair." Damon said some sarcasm on his voice.
"At least, now we know where Klaus and Elijah learned their tricks from." Stefan said to his brother with the same tone.
"Don't think you had to wait till the last second to have your breakthrough, though." The raven haired vampire said to Stefan still with sarcasm on his voice.
"I didn't have a break through, Damon." Stefan simply stated to his brother.
"Oooo, Ooooo, my brother is about to die and I just had to save his life for the bajillionith time! Careful Stefan, your humanity is showing." Damon said with sarcasm but then he smiled at him.
"So you know what? You're right, Damon. You're right. You reminded me what my freedom felt like. And when we kill Klaus, I'll be free. Free to leave. See, I didn't do this for you, Damon. I did it for myself." Stefan said to his brother because he hated Klaus for he had done to him.
"Sure, Stefan. Whatever you say..." Damon said with a smirk.
"Why are you doing this, huh?" Stefan asked grabbing Damon's shoulders and shaking him. "What do you want from me? Why is everybody trying to save me?" Stefan asked his brother.
"Because I have to, Stefan! Because you are in this mess with Klaus, because you saved my life. Because I owe you. And I can't just leave you in a cell to rot." Damon stated to his brother.
"Aw, better be careful, brother. Your humanity is showing." Stefan said with a smirk and the raven haired vampire punched Stefan in the face and Stefan was about to get up to retaliate when Damon pushed him down again and kicked him several feet away.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Rebekah was still crying alone, kneeling on the floor of the library when Eva got inside the house. She was coming to apologize and try to know why she was being protected by Rebekah and Klaus.
"Rebekah?" Eva called her.
"What do you want?" Rebekah asked her with tears on her eyes.
"I want to apologize and know why you and Klaus want to protect me." Eva said to her and hoped they could talk.
"Your apologizes are accepted and we want to protect you because we made a promise to our brother. You are my brother's wife doppelganger, and she never became a vampire because our mother didn't want her to become one. Her name was Thora Petrova. Our brother was heartbroken. He found later on that one of the doppelgangers would be the one was the most like Thora. So he made us promise that if you were found that we will protect you until he could turn and marry you again." Rebekah explained to Eva.
"What happened to Thora?" Eva asked Rebekah with a sad look.
"Thora died when my mother forced her and her twin sister, give their blood for the curse that Klaus had on him. That's why he needs your blood." Rebekah continued to explain to Eva.
"And that promise?" Eva asked her worried that she would be forced to be with their brother.
"Our brother asked us to protect you forever when he couldn't." Rebekah said with a smile. "I intend to keep my promise only because you are family but if you don't end up with my brother maybe is one of your descendants." Rebekah said to her with the same smile and they hugged.
"Thank you for telling me." Eva said to her with a smile.

When Eva arrived at the Gilbert House, she went to her sister's room to tell her what the original vampire told her. Eva told her and Elena was completely surprised by that. She couldn't believe but the way to know was to speak with Elijah or that brother they were talking about.
"I can't believe in this." Elena said still in shock.
"I know. I'm gonna tell Damon about this." Eva said to her sister.
"I agree with you. He needs to know." Elena nodded at her sister.
"I gonna take a shower and then going to bed wait for Damon." Eva said getting up and then remembered something. "He still is going to come here to talk with you first. It's about your boyfriend." Eva finished and went to the bathroom.

After her sister finished her shower, Elena came out of the bathroom next to her bedroom in her sleeping attire and she saw Damon lying on her bed.
"Damon! Seriously?" Elena asked him when she saw that he was lying on her bed.
"We got Mikael." Damon said getting up from the bed to sit down.
"What? How?" Elena asked him surprised to hear that.
"No idea. I guess Katherine and Danielle came through. Plan's in motion. See, I told you I had it. Go ahead. Kick, yell, scream. Sure you've been planning your rant all day." He stated to her because he knew how she was sometimes.
"I'm not gonna yell at you." Elena said to him because her sister said to trust Damon, because he knew what he was doing.
"Why not? I went behind you back. Freed Stefan. And you know what? It backfired. He's an even bigger dick than ever... just now, he's a dick that's on our side." Damon explained to her about Stefan's behavior.
"I'm not mad. I'm tired. I just... I want to go to bed. And Eva has something to tell that you are going to be speechless." Elena said and started to pull at her blankets to get Damon to get up, but he didn't budge.
"You know, I think Mikael's weapon is a stake, 'cause he mentioned something about it..." Damon said ingnoring Elena.
"Well, they must have carved it from the white oak tree before they burned it down." She said to him.
"So I was right. After all that, the wall lead us to Mikael." Damon said smirking because he was right.
"Lead us to more than just that. I think Eva and I got Rebekah on our side, too." Elena said to Damon.
"Really? What 'd you learn from her?" Damon asked her hoping she would tell him.
"We learned, that she's just a girl. That she lost her mom too young, and she loves blindly and recklessly, even if it consumes her." Elena explained to Damon. "And when it's all said and done, there's nothing more important than the bond of family." She finished and hoped that Eva would tell him the rest.
"Well, you should tell that to my brother." Damon said to her.
"I'm not mad at you for letting him out, Damon. I think that you're gonna be the one to save him from himself. It won't be because he loves me…" Elena said with a sigh and the started to whisper. "It'll be because he loves you. Eva will tell you the rest. She is waiting for you." Elena said with a tired voice.
"Yeah, I going to her now." Damon said while Elena closed her eyes. "Goodnight, little sister." He said kissing her forehead.

Damon got inside Eva's room and saw her changing into a pair of shorts and a tank top while he went to her bed. When she turned and him saw on her bed, Eva went to him and kissed him.
"So, how was your day with Stefan?" Eva asked her boyfriend.
"The same, always, but he is on our side and we got Mikael too." Damon said smiling at his girlfriend. "And yours?" He asked her kissed her lips.
"Good. Rebekah told us her family story and why the Originals say that I'm destined to be with one of her brothers." Eva said to her boyfriend.
"So… what did she tell you?" Damon asked her.
"She told me that a girl named Thora was the wife of one her brothers. I'm her doppelganger. Their mother didn't turn the girl into a vampire and used her blood to curse Klaus. Their brother made them promise to protect me until he could come because I'm destined to be with him but we have a mating bond forming… so maybe is one of my descendants. I don't know." Eva explained to Damon hoping that he wouldn't get pissed by that.
"What? Are you joking right now?" Damon asked surprised by what she had said to him.
"Nope. But right now, I just wanna be with you." Eva said to Damon kissing on the lips and sitting down on his lap.

After two rounds of making love with Damon, Eva couldn't sleep, decided to get up and writes some songs while she was watching her vampire boyfriend sleep. They were stronger than never. No one was going to destroy what they have.
