Chapter IX
Homecoming
At the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan was calling Klaus, who was in the woods in another town looking for werewolves.
"Portland is fantastic. Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people it is literally a breading ground for werewolves." Klaus said into the phone to Stefan.
"Your father is dead." Stefan stated into the phone casually to Klaus.
"What did you say to me?" Klaus asked with a growl on his voice.
"Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?" Stefan asked Klaus hoping that he bought what he was saying to him.
"Well, first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened." Klaus stated to Stefan.

One hour earlier, at the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan, Elena, Eva and Damon were talking about Mikael and Klaus.
"Aye, let's say that Mikael followed Elena and Eva in here. He tried to grab them, so he could use them as bait." Stefan suggested to them.
"And you what? Vervained him?" Elena asked them with sarcasm on her voice.
"No, we vervained him! This guy is an Original. To make it realistic." Damon said with a smirk to the girls.
"Okay, fine. We vervained him, and in the process we discovered that he had one those daggers." The younger Salvatore continued to explain their plan.
"Which he planned to use on Rebekah, but instead..." Eva continued with the plan.
"We drove it through his heart." Stefan concluded the plan.
"And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" Elena asked them.
"Good point! You my brother have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him... last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue-tied." Damon said to his brother with a smirk.
"Well, don't look at me. I am just in charge of getting him back here." Stefan said looking at the twins and to Damon.
"Klaus is smart. If we tell him that Mikael is dead, he'll want proof." Eva stated to them.
"Then I shall be dead." Mikael said appearing behind them.
"What if he wants to see you in person?" Eva asked turning to Mikael.
"Well that means our plan is working. Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here, and I will kill him." Mikael said to the boys.
"With what? Those daggers won't work on him." Stefan stated to Mikael because Klaus was half vampire, half werewolf the daggers didn't work.
"Well, I'm in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree. The one that left these ashes when it burned." Mikael explained to them once again.
"Where is it?" Stefan continued to ask questions to Mikael.
"Not here. The knowing of its location is my insurance policy." Mikael said while was dipping the dagger into the ashes of the white oak tree.
"Against what?" Stefan asked him but Mikael didn't answered and turned to the girls.
"You leaving this in my heart. You see, a vampire can't dagger an original vanpire without dying. So... it falls to one of you." Mikael said to the girls and handing over the dagger to them and Elena took the dagger from his hand.
"You want us to actually dagger you?" Elena asked him surprised.
"Klaus will leave nothing to chance… especially when it comes to trust." Mikael explained while waited for Elena to dagger him.

In the present hour, Klaus was still on the phone with Stefan talking about his father.
"I wanna see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself." Klaus said with a growl on his voice.
"Well, he is here. Come by whenever." Stefan said using some sarcasm on his voice.
"If you are lying to me Stefan, your compulsion will expose you. So, answer with your life. Is what you are saying the truth?" Klaus asked Stefan while Stefan thought when his ex-girlfriend drove the dagger into Mikael's heart.
"It's true. I saw it with my own eyes." Stefan said with a certain voice.
"I wanna talk to Rebekah." Klaus ordered to Stefan.
"That's not a problem. She is right here." Stefan said and handed over the phone to the blonde original.
"Hello Nik." Rebekah said to Klaus when Stefan passed the phone to her.
"Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with the dagger?" Klaus asked to his little sister.
"It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good. I miss you. I'm miserable here." Rebekah said with a pout.
"I'll be home soon." Klaus said promising to his sister.
"Good. I'll see you then, brother." Rebekah said hanging up the phone and turned to the others. "He bought it. He's coming home." She said and gave the phone back to Stefan.
"Now was that easy or what?" Damon said with a little sarcasm on his voice.
"Let's just get this over with." Elena said while pulling the dagger out of Mikael's chest and then left with the others after her.

Eva and Damon were inside his room preparing for their plan and the homecoming party which Eva wasn't interested on going. So she sat down on the bed with Damon's head on her lap writing songs while Damon read a book.

Damon that had his head on her lap kissed her hand to give her the signal that Mikael was waking up.

In the living room, much later, Mikael was still dead on the floor and Rebekah was in a chair, painting her toe nails while waiting for Mikael to come back to life again. He started to move, coughed, and got up.
"Finally. Took you long enough." Rebekah said when saw her father alive again.
"Rebekah." Mikael said when he saw his daughter.
"Whatever fatherly rubbish you're thinking, save it. Nothing you say matters to me." The blonde Original said to her father.
"I see. Where is my dagger?" Mikael asked to his daughter looking around.
"Elena has it. So you can forget your plans to use it on me." Rebekah stated to her father.
"You were never what I was after." Mikael said to his daughter because if after everything it wasn't her that he hated.
"Nik was my family. If you were after him, you were after me." Rebekah stated to her father defending her bother.
"He blinded you, Rebekah. He killed your mother!" Mikael shouted at his daughter.
"I know what he did, and he'll pay for it with his life. But Nik was not born a killer… none of us were! You did this to us when you turned us into vampires! You destroyed our family. Not him." Rebekah said and got up from the couch.
"Rebekah..." Mikael said watching her leave the room.

At the Gilbert Residence, Elena was in front of her closet and Bonnie was sitting on her bed with Alaric's photos of the ancient Viking drawings.
"I hate everything in my closet. I have nothing to wear to Homecoming." Elena said with a sigh to her friend.
"So, don't go to the Homecoming. Let's stay home order takeout and over analyze ancient hieroglyphic thingies with Alaric." Bonnie suggested to Elena. "By the way where is your sister?" The tanned witch asked to her friend.
"She is with Damon." Elena said to Bonnie and then remembered about their blonde friend. "We have to go. Caroline will kill us." She stated to Bonnie.
"Ah… Caroline actually has a date..." Bonnie said to Elena with a smile.
"You know that you can talk to me about Jeremy, right?" Elena said to Bonnie with a smile because she knew about the break up.
"I don't need to talk about it. He fell in love with his ghost girlfriend and lied to me about it. What's done is done." Bonnie said with a sad voice.
"You have to talk about it. He hurt you, Bonnie. I am mad at him, too." Elena said to her friend because she was mad at her brother for hurting Bonnie. "And Eva is mad at him too." She said to Bonnie too.
"You are mad at your little brother. You'll yell at him a little, teach him a life lesson. You can't really be mad like I am mad. Or even Eva." Bonnie said to her.
"Bonnie..." Elena started to say to her.
"And you and Eva shouldn't have to be. He's your brother. So no I can't really talk to you or her about it." Bonnie simply stated to her.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon and Eva were in his room talking about the plan to kill Klaus. Damon had agreed with Eva into not going to the Homecoming because he was afraid that the hybrid would attack her.
"Are you sure you don't wanna go?" Damon continued surprised by Eva's decision.
"Yes. The only thing I ask is for you to be careful with this plan to kill him." Eva said to him while they were hugging.
"I will and you will be careful alone in here with the Papa Original." Damon assured her and made her promise that she would be careful too. They kissed when Elena knocked on the door for them to start with their plan.

Eva, Elena and Damon were in Damon's room and they were preparing weapons.
"We can't trust Rebekah not to turn on us." Elena stated to her sister and to Damon.
"Oh really? Cause these Original vampires are usually so reliable." Damon said with sarcasm remembering what Elijah had done.
"Damon!" Eva said to her boyfriend slapping his arm.
"Bonnie was right. Rebekah may be mad at Klaus now but he is her brother." Elena said to him and making them remember about the Salvatore brothers history.
"Her lying, mama-killing, dagger-happy brother. Wolfsbane is ready." Damon continued commenting with his sarcasm.
"There are too many things that can go wrong with this plan. Too many people that can make it go wrong." Elena stated to them.
"Well, I am formulating a secret contingency plan." Damon said with a smirk on his lips to the girls.
"Really? What is it?" Eva asked him with a surprised voice.
"Well, if I told you, then it wouldn't be a secret." Damon said with the same smirk on his lips.
"You know the plan." Elena asked her sister because she knew that Damon never hide anything from Eva.
"Yes, I know but I will never tell you." Eva said with a smirk too and continued preparing the weapons to kill Klaus.

They were still preparing the weapons when Stefan entered the room.
"I need to borrow a tie." Stefan said to his brother.
"You have your own ties." Damon said looking up at his brother.
"I'm a 162 years old and I'm going to a Homecoming Dance. I need better ties." Stefan said to him because Damon always had better ties than him.
"You could not go." Elena said to her ex-boyfriend.
"I'm compelled to protect you and your sister. And if I look at your track record at high school dances… it's pretty tragic. With my luck you'll go and get yourself murdered by the Homecoming Queen..." Stefan said and left the room.
"Stefan being sarcastic… a new one." Eva said with sarcasm too because she hated to see her sister being hurt by him.

When Stefan had disappeared, Elena picked up a wolfsbane grenade ready to throw at the younger Salvatore because she was pissed at him and then Damon hit her hand.
"Ah! Ah! No!" Damon said to her.
"I know how to do it! Alaric taught me!" Elena shouted at Damon.
"Elena! If this thing blows up in our face… just remember: only one of us heals quickly and hint, it is not you and your sister." Damon said taking the grenade away from her.
"Calm down, Lena." Eva said finished preparing the vervain darts.

"Ah, please tell me that you have a better plan than wolfsbane grenades?" Stefan asked them when he returned to Damon's room.
"Never your mind, brother. The less you know the better." Damon said to his brother because he could say anything to Klaus.
"My freedom from Klaus rests entirely upon on you three into executing your plan perfectly. So, excuse me if I'm a bit cynical." Stefan said to them with sarcasm.
"Your the one that we should be worried about. If Klaus asks you one wrong question this whole thing falls apart." Eva said to Stefan with the same tone he used with them.
"You do have reason to worry, but if I look back in our history of epic plan failures, it's usually because one of us let our humanity get in the way. Upon taking odds on how this thing goes down, it's certainly not gonna be me who screws it up. I'll see you at homecoming. I can't wait." Stefan said leaving the room which the Damon and the twins looking at each other.

At the Mystic Falls High School, Caroline and Tyler were painting an old VW Bus.
"Hey, can you hand me the glitter gun? Thanks." Caroline asked to her boyfriend.
"Hey, can't we diss the decorating and go grab a bite?" Tyler asked her with a seductive smile.
"Oh, I have a thermos in my bag." Caroline said to Tyler because she had some blood.
"I mean a real bite. Rebekah knows some people who like to be fed on. They're into it, we don't even have to compel them." Tyler suggested to his girlfriend.
"Okay, first of all, I finally almost just got your mother to stop hating me… so I probably don't wanna get caught in some weird vampire threesome with her son. And secondly, quit hanging out with Rebekah the evil blood slut." Caroline stated to her boyfriend.
"Just keep the claws in tonight at the dance, okay? For me?" Tyler pleaded to her.
"So, who has the misfortune of being compelled to be her date?" Caroline asked him hoping that none of their friends ended up with Rebekah.
"Matt said he'd take her." Tyler said to Caroline shrugging his shoulders.
"What? You set her up with Matt?" Caroline asked him surprised.
"She wants to go to the dance and he didn't have anyone to go with. He drinks vervain too. She can't feed on him, what's the big deal?" Tyler asked her still not understanding why she was acting like that.
"The big deal, Tyler, is that Matt is an innocent, good person, who should not be going to dances with evil blood sluts!" Caroline shouted at Tyler.
"Matt's a guy, Caroline. And Rebekah is hot, don't over-think this." Tyler advised his girlfriend.
"This is a sire thing, isn't it? Please tell me this is some weird family extension of your sire bond to Klaus!" Caroline continued to shout at him.
"I'm here, hanging streamers and I have glitter all over my hands. If I'm sired to anybody it's you." Tyler stated at her with a smile.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon and Eva were in his bathroom, in his bathtub, to spent some alone time. She had her back against to his chest and Damon was kissing her neck.
"I have a bad feeling about this plan." Eva said with a sigh while Damon continued to kiss her neck.
"Everything is going to be alright." Damon said when stopped kissing her neck.
"Those words aren't assuring…" Eva said to him with the same sigh.
"Believe me, I will come back." Damon said kissing her on the ear and turning Eva around which lead them having sex on the bathtub.

Meanwhile, Rebekah was getting ready for the Homecoming Dance inside Stefan's room when Elena entered.
"Getting a head start, huh?" Elena asked her coming closer.
"Embarrassing truth? This is my first high school dance." Rebekah confessed to Elena.
"Ever?" Elena asked surprised.
"I never really had time for high school before. Nik and I were always moving around, running. Anyway… I didn't want to leave anything to chance. Have you heard anymore from him?" Rebekah asked Elena about her brother.
"No. But I'm sure that when he does return he'll do it with flair." Elena said with sarcasm on her voice.
"And Damon and my father are all set with their plan?" Rebekah asked to her.
"Yes." Elena said nodding her head.
"Don't tell me. I don't want to know, I just… I want to go to the dance and leave the rest to Mikael." Rebekah said to Elena because she only wanted to have fun that night.
"I know it's really hard. So thank you for helping us get Klaus back into town." Elena said thanking to Rebekah.
"Just be careful. I've been running for a thousand years for a reason. Mikael is not a good person and he definitely can't be trusted. No one in my family can." Rebekah said with some tears on her eyes.
"Are you okay?" Elena asked her with a worried voice.
"I've spent my whole life loving and hating my brother with equal measure. I never thought that I'd be the one to help drive a stake through his heart. No tears… I don't want to ruin my makeup." Rebekah said while turning her back to Elena and looked in the mirror once again to look at herself. "How do I look?" She asked Elena.
"You look amazing! But you're missing one thing." Elena said taking the necklace out of her pocket.
"My mother's necklace." Rebekah said with a surprised voice.
"You should wear it tonight. May I?" Elena said and Rebekah turned around while looked into the mirror, nodding her head and Elena put the necklace around her neck.
"Thank you." Rebekah thanked her with a little smile.
"I'm so sorry. I can't leave anything to chance either." Elena said after driving the dagger through her back into her heart.

Later, Elena was sitting on Stefan's bed while Damon was covering Rebekah's body with a blanket and Eva was shaking her head at her sister.
"You shouldn't have done that, Lena." Eva said to her sister still shaking her head.
"In the back! Harsh!" Damon said to the Elena.
"It had to be done. Rebekah was never gonna be completely on our side." Elena stated to him and to her sister.
"You don't know that." Eva said to her because Rebekah never had done nothing against them.
"Hey, I'm not judging you. It's very… Katherine of you." Damon said to her because he knew that the Pierce twin sisters would do something like that.
"Not the way to make me feel better about myself, Damon." Elena said to him.
"He would't say that if you hadn't do that to Rebekah." Eva said to her sister with a little glare on her eyes.
"It was a compliment. Sort of..." Damon said looking at her.
"Stefan's right. Someone's gonna let their humanity get in the way and screw this whole thing up. It's probably gonna be me." Elena stated to them.
"Don't start saying those things." Eva said to her sister.
"Elena, you just daggered somebody. You will be fine." Damon said to her because of what she had done.
"Yeah… but I feel bad about it. I care too much, that's the problem, Damon. I'm the weak link." Elena said to them.
"Lena, I care too much too, but I don't show it. Maybe you need to learn to do that. Maybe that way we can survive this." Eva said to her sister grabbing her hand.
"If it makes you feel any better, she's not really dead." Damon said to Elena and then looked at his girlfriend because he knew what she was saying was right.
"Do you trust him? Mikael?" Elena asked Damon and her sister.
"No." Damon stated to her.
"Me neither." Eva agreed with her boyfriend.
"What about Stefan?" Elena asked them too.
"No. Not as long as he is under Klaus's control." Damon stated to them.
"I agree with Damon." Eva said agreeing once again with her boyfriend.
"Then we need a better plan." Elena said to him.
"I know what to do. Your just not gonna like it." Damon said to Elena because Eva already knew about the plan.
"Why not?" Elena asked him surprised and then looked at her sister to know of she had any idea about this plan.
"I helped with the plan when I said, I didn't plan on going to the dance." Eva said to her sister because she and Damon came up with the plan.
"Because when this all goes down, I don't want Eva and you having any part of it." The raven haired vampire stated to her.
"What does that mean?" Elena asked them because she was confused.
"Do you trust me and your sister?" Damon asked Elena looking at her.
"Yes." Elena said nodding at him.
"Then you have nothing to worry about." Damon said to her with a smile.
"Trust us, Lena. Damon knows what he is doing." Eva said and squeezed her hand with a smile.

At the Mystic Falls High School, it was already nighttime, the fire brigade was there and was water flooding the place.
"What happened?" Caroline asked to her boyfriend.
"The gym is flooded." Tyler told her about the gym.
"What?" Caroline asked surprised at him.
"Dance is canceled." Tyler stated to her because they couldn't have the dance on the gym with it flooded.
"Excuse me? What are we supposed to do now?" Caroline asked pissed that the dance needed to be canceled.

Elena and Eva were at the Salvatore Boarding House on the phone with Caroline which was on speaker.
"So, does that mean I and Eva, don't have to go?" Elena asked her friend.
"You wish! No, Tyler is moving the party to his house." Caroline stated to her friends.
"Kegs and beer pong for Homecoming? That's... different..." Eva said with a little smirk on her lips.
"Just say you're still coming?!" Caroline said to her friends when someone was knocking on the front door.
"We'll see you there." Elena promise when she hanged up while going to open the door and Eva went to put more wood on the fireplace.

Elena went to the door and Matt was there to pick up Rebekah.
"Elena..." Matt said smiling at his friend.
"Matt... Hey." Elena said to him not knowing how to say to him.
"Hey." Matt said to her.
"Umm… slight problem with your homecoming date." Elena said about Rebekah.
"What happened?" Matt asked her a little worried.
"How would you feel about a backup date?" Elena suggested to her friend.
"And your sister?" Matt asked Elena.
"Don't worry about her. She's not going." Elena assured her friend.

At the Lockwood Mansion, there was a rock band playing in the garden and everyone from the school was there. Caroline entered the house with Bonnie beside her.
"How did he plan a better party than me so fast? What? Is that a band outside?" Caroline asked to her friend surprised.
"Who are all these people?" Bonnie asked because she recognized that some of the people weren't their classmates.
"This is weird! Where is Tyler?" Caroline asked looking around for her boyfriend.

Stefan, that was already at the party, moved through the crowd and saw that Tyler was walking over carrying a box of beer.
"Hey Stefan! What's up?" Tyler asked Stefan when he saw him.
"Hey Tyler. Nice party you've got going on." Stefan said to Tyler with a smirk on his lips.
"Thanks, but I'm not the one throwing it. I'm just doing what Klaus wants." Tyler said to the younger Salvatore.
"What do you mean?" Stefan asked not understanding what he meant.
"It's not a party, man. It's a wake." Tyler said and then they saw Klaus going to the stage to speak.

"Good evening everyone! I wanna thank you for being here with me to celebrate! It's been a long time coming!" Klaus said into the microphone and everyone cheered seeing and hearing his words.

Elena and Matt arrived at the party with Eva. She was going to meet with Damon.
"So much for Homecoming..." Elena said to them watching around.
"Yeah." Eva agreed with her sister.
"This is weird! Us being here together..." Matt said pointing to him and Elena.
"There's Caroline. She doesn't know anything. Act normal." Elena said to Matt.
"Hey... Klaus is here." Caroline said to her friends.
"What?" Matt asked surprised when the blonde vampire said that Klaus was there.
"Yeah! Apparently our sired hybrid friend Tyler thought it would be okay to let his master throw a party! I expected more surprise!" Caroline said with some sarcasm at her friends.
"I've learned not to be surprised by anything Klaus does. I'm gonna go find Bonnie." She said leaving looking for Bonnie.
"I'm gonna find Damon." Eva said and left too.

"What's going on? And what are you and Elena doing here together? Thought you were supposed to be here with Rebekah." Caroline asked after watching Elena and Eva leave to look for Damon and Bonnie.
"Plan's changed. I need a drink." Matt said and left too.

Elena walked down the stairs and saw Klaus and Stefan walking around the party talking while Eva was looking for Damon.
"Quite the Homecoming." Stefan said commenting to Klaus.
"I've been planning my father's funeral for a thousand years. Granted, in no version of it were any of these people invited, but you get the idea." Klaus said with a smirk on his lips because he was happy that his father was dead.
"So, what now? Stop running?" Stefan asked Klaus with curiosity.
"Now I reunite my family." Klaus said after a moment.
"Your family. You mean the people you cart around in caskets?" Stefan asked with some sarcasm on his voice.
"None of that matters anymore. Mikael is gone. Bygones will be bygones." Klaus said and saw that the Homecoming Queen was walking by. "Seems the Homecoming Queen still walksing among the living, which leads me to believe Rebekah isn't here... Where is my sister?" Klaus asked to Stefan.
"I have no idea. I thought she was coming with Matt." Stefan said to Klaus honestly.
"Oh, be honest now, Stefan. Where is my sister?" Klaus asked him with a growl.
"I said I have no idea. How would you like me to take you to your father?" Stefan asked him changing the subject.
"Well, it wouldn't be a party without the guest of honor, would it? Bring him to me." The hybrid ordered to Stefan.
"All right. Perhaps there is something that you could do for me? My freedom from your compulsion?" The youngest Salvatore asked to Klaus.
"Oh, you want your freedom. Well, once he is dead and his weapon destroyed, you'll have your freedom. It'll be my pleasure to give it back." Klaus said to Stefan with a smirk on his lips.

Eva and Elena were alone after they heard Klaus and Stefan conversation and they were worried about the brothers.
"We have to warn them." Eva said to her sister worried about them.
"Don't worry. Everything his going to be okay." Elena said squeezing her sister hand with a little smile on her lips.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon was pouring himself a glass of blood when the original vampire, Mikael got inside the room.
"Did my daughter go to the dance?" Mikael asked to Damon.
"Yep, you missed the photo op. Did you get the stake?" Damon asked hoping that Mikael will show him the stake.
"I did." Mikael said trying to assure Damon.
"I'm not gonna take your word for it. No offense to your honor and all..." Damon said to him with a little hesitant.
"None taken." Mikael said and pulled the stake out of his jacket.
"Fancy. May I?" Damon asked him and pointed to the stake.
"It's the only weapon on this earth that can kill an original. So I think I'll hold on to it. No offense." Mikael said to Damon with the same tone Damon had had said before.
"I'd offer you a drink but Katherine and Danielle tells me you're more of a vampire on the rocks kind of guy." Damon said to Mikael.
"Well, technically you could still offer." Mikael said to Damon with a smirk on his lips.
"Why feed on vampires? Don't tell me it's for the smooth after taste." Damon asked with some sarcasm on his voice.
"I had a hand in creating vampires, but bloodlust was never my intention. Over the centuries I learned to feed from the predator, not the innocent." Mikael explained to him remembering some of his mistakes from the past when Stefan came inside his house and went to speak with them.

"Change of plans. Klaus is back. He is at the Lockwood's and he wants your body delivered to his doorstep." Stefan said when he was inside the room.
"I'm afraid he is in for a colossal disappointment." Mikael said with a disturbing voice.
"Well, he's certainly not gonna come here. I hope your plan didn't depend on that?" The youngest Salvatore asked them.
"Didn't depend on that." Damon said to Stefan.
"But you do have a plan, right?" Stefan asked again to his brother.
"Oh, yeah. We have a plan, right. Just doesn't involve you." Damon said while Mikael leapped forward, grabbed Stefan and started to feed on him which made Stefan fall to the floor unconscious. "You couldn't just break his neck?" Damon asked Mikael looking at him with a eyebrow raised.
"Well that certainly occurred to me." Mikael said and left.
"I will take care of him. When he wakes up, Klaus will be dead." Eva said to them coming to join them on the living room. Damon said kissing her in the head and left after the older vampire.

At the Lockwood Mansion, the party is still going on, when Tyler joined Klaus.
"My mom would seriously freak if she saw all these people here." Tyler said to Klaus while he looked around.
"Your mother won't be a problem: I compelled her to go to church and pray for your friends." Klaus said with a smirk on his lips.
"What are you talking about?" Tyler asked him confused about he had said.
"I want you to look around. There is Bonnie, there is Elena and Matt and there's your pretty little girlfriend Caroline. Epic dance was wrecked tonight and who came through with the party? You did. What a pal. But who are all these other people here?" Klaus asked to Tyler making look around.
"I have no idea. I've never seen half these people in my life." Tyler said to Klaus because he really was confused.
"That's because I've invited a few dozen friends of my own. That's my friend Mindy, picked her up along the way in Kansas. Did you know that there's an entire bloodline of werewolves in the heartland? That's Tony from North Dakota and let's not forget the Seattle contingent." Klaus said pointing to Tyler some hybrids.
"Are those people all hybrids?" Tyler asked Klaus a little worried about his friends.
"Well, they also love a good party. And they, like you, were sired by me. They wish to serve their master. So if anyone should so much as make a move against me, they may feel obligated to retaliate. You're free to warn your friends." Klaus said with some advise on his voice.

Inside the Lockwood Mansion, Tyler and Caroline were in Tyler's bedroom, he shut the door to talk with her.
"What are you up to with Klaus?" Tyler asked his girlfriend.
"Nothing." Caroline said to Tyler feigning innocence.
"He is on to you, Caroline. Whatever you all think you're about to pull off… he's two steps ahead of you!" Tyler shouted at his girlfriend.
"Okay, I don't know what you're talking about." Caroline stated to her boyfriend.
"You're lying to me." Tyler stated to his girlfriend.
"You know, actually, I'm not. I don't know anything. But even if I did, I wouldn't tell you about it, because you are sired to team Klaus now. And you can't be trusted. So can we please just go back to the party now?" Caroline asked him and started to leave but Tyler took out a syringe and vervained her and she went down unconscious.

Outside, Klaus walked up to Elena and Eva that both were talking.
"Where's your date?" Klaus asked them.
"Getting me a drink." Elena said to him.
"Waiting for mine date to come." Eva said to Klaus.
"Well, seems I have you to thank for Mikael's demise." Klaus said after offering her his drink and Elena rejected it.
"He came at me. I didn't have a choice." Elena said to him.
"Still I'm impressed. It's not easy for a human to dagger an Original." Klaus said already suspecting something.
"It wasn't the first time." Elena said to him.
"Right. Elijah. You seem nervous." Klaus said looking at Eva and Elena at the same time.
"I'm not nervous. I just don't like you." Elena said to Klaus stating that fact.
"Let's get straight to the point then, shall I, love? People have been after me for 1000 years. And I am always one step ahead. So whatever it is you're thinking of trying, go for it, give it your best shot. You won't succeed." Klaus stated to the girls.

At the front door, Damon walked up to the front door and a hybrid was standing at the bottom of the steps acting as the doorman.
"Invite only, vampire." The hybrid said to Damon.
"Here's my RSVP." Damon said and ripped his heart out. "Hybrid." Damon said and got inside the mansion.

"What'd you do to her?" Matt asked Tyler seeing that Caroline was unconscious when they were in Tyler's room.
"It's just vervain. She will be fine. But I need you to get her out of here as fast as possible, okay?" Tyler said to his friend.
"What's going on?" Matt asked his friend worried.
"Something's going down against Klaus and this house is full of hybrids like me that can't let anything happen to him." Tyler explained to Matt.
"What do you mean can't?" Matt asked even more confused than before.
"I can't explain it. I can't fight against it. I just know that I need to protect him no matter who gets in my way." Tyler continued to explain.
"By attacking Caroline?" Matt asked him surprised by his actions.
"I'm protecting her, Matt! This is the only way to keep her safe. Please. Just get her out of here safely. Get everyone out." Tyler said to him and left the room to go downstairs and that is when Tyler runs into Damon, who grabs him and throws him in an empty room.
"As the host you should know these hybrids don't make the best first impression." The raven-haired vampire said to Tyler.
"Whatever move you're making, Klaus is gonna be ready for you. He'll kill anyone at this party if he has to." Tyler warned Damon.
"Tell someone who cares." Damon said and attacked Tyler. As they fight, Damon was about to stake Tyler when they both clutched their heads in pain. Bonnie came in, using her powers to inflict the pain. After Tyler and Damon were slumped on the floor, Bonnie stoped using her powers on Damon.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You weren't suppose to witchy migraine me!" Damon asked when got up.
"You weren't supposed to kill Tyler!" Bonnie said to Damon.
"He tried to bite me!" Damon told her and picked up the white oak stake that was on the floor.
"What is that?" Bonnie asked Damon.
"Nothing." Damon said and put the white oak stake back in his jacket.
"Oh my god is that the...?" Bonnie asked Damon surprised.
"Shh. They're everywhere!" Damon said mouthing to her.
"Why do you have it?" Bonnie asked surprised.
"Because I'm the only one who can get inside the house!" Damon exclaimed to her.

Klaus was at a table playing beer pong when one of his hybrids came up to him.
"You have a visitor." She said to him.
"Well, tell my visitor I'm on the brink of victory here." Klaus said to the hybrid.
"He said his name is Mikael." The hybrid saud and Klaus looked disappointed and threw the ping pong ball into a cup.
"Then we mustn't keep him waiting. Move everyone out back. I'm gonna have a little chat with my dad. Tony, you know what to do." Klaus said leaving after the hybrid until the front door where he found Mikael at the doorway waiting for him.

"Hello, Niklaus." Mikael said to Klaus.
"Hello, Mikael. Why don't you come in? Oh, that's right. I forgot you can't." Klaus said with a smirk on his face.
"Or you can come outside if you want." Mikael said to him.
"Or I could watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb." Klaus said with a smirk on his face while a group of hybrids gathered behind Mikael on the lawn.
"They can't kill me." Mikael said to his stepson.
"True. But it'll make a hell of a party game. All I have to do is rub these two fingers together and they'll pounce." Klaus continued saying with a smirk on his face.
"The big bad wolf. You haven't changed." Mikael said to his step-son. "Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward." He continued to antagonize Klaus playing with his insecurities. "You only forget. They may be sired by you, but they're still part vampire and they can be compelled by me." Mikael stated and the hybrid that told Klaus that his stepfather was at the door walked up behind him and pushed Elena and Eva to him. "Come out and face me, Niklaus. Or they die." Mikael said to him with a smirk.
"Go ahead. Kill them." Klaus said to him imaging that he is bluffing.
"No, Klaus. He'll do it." Elena said in panic.
"If one of them dies, this lot will be last of your abominations." Mikael said with a smirk on his lips.
"I don't need them. I just need to be rid of you." Klaus said with a threating tone.
"To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever, with no one at your side? Nobody cares about you any more, boy! What do you have other than those whose loyalty you forced? No one. No one." Mikael said to him already reaching to Klaus insecuraties.
"I'm calling your bluff, father. Kill her." Klaus said with some tears on his eyes.
"Come outside and face me, you little coward. And I won't have to." Mikael said to him to make him comeoutside.
"My whole life you've underestimated me. If you kill them you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on. Kill them. Come on, old man. Kill them. Kill them!" Klaus screamed at him continuing calling his bluff.
"Your impulse, Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great." Mikael said laughing and while he grabbed Elena, one hybrid grabbed Eva and at the same time stabbed the twins making them fall on the floor while Mikael continued to laugh as Klaus looked at the girls shocked, that he didn't see Damon coming behind him.

When Damon saw that he could attack, he rushed up behind Klaus, twisted him around and stabbed the White Oak Tree dagger into his stomach while Elena and Eva got up from the floor.
"Katherine and Danielle" Mikael said because he was fooled by them.
"Kaboom." Katherine said while throwing two wolfsbane grenades to the hybrids while Danielle did the same but with vervain.

Meanwhile, Damon was about to stake Klaus, when Stefan knocked him off of Klaus and held him down. The stake was on the floor.
"What are you doing?!" Damon asked his brother when Klaus took the stake that was on the floor and jumped at Mikael. With that Klaus drove it through Mikael's heart and he bursted into flames finally dying. "What the hell did you do?" Damon asked his brother with hate on his voice.
"He's earned his freedom." Klaus informed them and Stefan stopped clutching Damon, got up and faced the faced the hybrid. "Thank you my friend. You no longer have to do as I say. You're free." The hybrid un-compelled Stefan and the youngest Salvatore looked at his older brother but fleed in a flash.

Later that night, Caroline was sleeping on the bed and she woke up, she saw that Tyler was coming inside her room.
"Are you okay?" Tyler asked worried.
"What do you think?" Caroline asked him with a sarcastic tone.
"I'm sorry I stabbed you. It was the only thing I could think of to get you out of there, to protect you." He tried to explain to his girlfriend.
"Oh, yeah, not hey Caroline, um, I worried about what might happened this evening so maybe you should just go home and watch Dancing with the Stars?" Caroline asked again with sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"If you knew all your friends were gonna get together and try to take down Klaus, would you have left?" Tyler asked her already knowing her answer.
"No." Caroline stated to him.
"So there you go. I saved you from your own stubbornness." Tyler stated to her.
"This isn't funny, Tyler! How am I supposed to be with you when you are sired to him, sired to Klaus?!" The blonde vampire asked him.
"I need you to understand, Caroline." Tyler pleaded to her to understand.
"Understand what? That you're one of the bad guys now?" Caroline asked him with disappointment on her voice.
"Understand that this is who I am! There's nothing that I can do about it. Klaus can't be killed. I can't be fixed. Understand that I'm okay with it." Tyler continued trying to make his girlfriend understand him.
"But... How are you okay with it?" Caroline asked him once again with a sad tone.
"Because it's better. I don't have to turn, Caroline. Not unless I want to. I never have to go through that pain again." He explained to her because everytime he turned during the full moon, he was always in pain. "If being sired to Klaus is the price that I have to pay, so be it." Tyler finally said to her.
"But... you don't have any true control over yourself." The blonde vampire said to him for him to open his eyes.
"I never did before. The full moon controlled me. After everything that we've been through, you've been there for me through all of it. Don't turn your back on me now." He pleaded to her because if she left him, he would not know what to do.
"Tyler..." Caroline started to speak but he interrupted her.
"Right." The younger hybrid said already knowing her answer.
"I just..." She tried to tell him but once again he interrupted her.
"I got it." He said and left her bedroom.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena, Eva and Damon were in the living room talking about what happened at the Lockwood mansion.
"How did this happen?" Elena asked Damon worried about that the plan didn't work.
"We thought of everything, Elena! Klaus having hybrids. Mikael turning on us. We brought in Katherine and Danielle, so you both weren't in danger. Anything that could have gone wrong we were prepared!" Damon explained to Elena because Eva was already on the plan while he took a drink of the alchohol.
"I don't understand. Stefan wanted Klaus dead. More than anything. That's what we were counting on." Elena said to them because it was what Stefan was always saying.
"We blew it." Damon said giving a drink to Eva.
"Where's Katherine and Danielle?" Elena asked him once again.
"They ran for the hills like usual, the minute things got bad! Who blames them?! Klaus would've crushed them. I had him, girls. I had Klaus there to be killed! This could have all been over!" Damon shouted and threw a bottle of scotch in the fireplace.
"Hey. Damon... Hey! Hey, listen to me!" Eva said grabbing Damon's face. "We'll survive this. We always survive. Trust me." Eva said to her boyfriend and her sister was nodding her agreeing.
"We will survive." Elena agreed too.
"We're never getting Stefan back. You know that, don't you?" Damon said frowning.
"Then we'll let him go. Okay? We'll have to let him go." Eva said once again to him about Stefan and Elena agreed again.
"We let him go." Elena agreed with her sister when Damon's phone rang and he answered it.

"Not interested in the play-by-play of our failure right now, Danielle." Damon said to the vampire.
"I'm just calling to say goodbye. I don't know what to tell you. You had a good plan Damon. And that's high praise coming from me and my sister." Danielle said to him while her sister was driving in their car somewhere.
"That's not very comforting at the moment. You're going back into hiding?" Damon asked to her.
"At least my life is not boring. Goodbye, Damon." Danielle said to her former lover.
"Take care of yourself, Danielle." Damon said to her and both hanged up the phone.

Inside the car, Katherine was driving the car when Danille hanged up the phone.
"He doesn't know where it all went wrong..." Danielle said and looked over to the back seat of the car. It was Stefan.
"He doesn't need to know." Stefan said to the girls.
"Are you good from here? I need to put about a million miles between us and Klaus as soon as possible. Stefan?" Katherine asked Stefan.

Stefan and the Pierce sisters were remembering what happened earlier on the Salvatore Boarding House where Stefan was still down on the floor after Mikael's attack.
"Stefan!" Katherine called him trying waking him up.
"Elena." Stefan said to her thinking that she was Elena.
"Not exactly..." Katherine said dropping a blood bag next to him. "Pep up! I only got a minute before they realize that I'm not at the party..." She explained to him.

The Pierce sisters continued remembering more details of the party where Klaus meet them thinking they were Elena and Eva.
"You seem nervous." Klaus stated to them.
"I'm not nervous, I just don't like you." Katherine said to him.
"Me neither." Danielle agreed with her sister.
"People have been after me for a thousand years and I'm always one step ahead. So, whatever it is you're thinking of trying, go for it. Give it your best shot. You won't succeed." Klaus said to the girls.
"It won't be for lack of trying." Katherine said to him.
"I agree with my sister." Danielle said continuing agreeing with Katherine.
"Ah you'd be smart to tell Damon to mind his manners tonight, because if I die, I've already ensured that he'll die along with me! Even in my death my hybrids have their orders. So, you kill me you're killing him too." Klaus said looking at Danielle thinking she was Eva because she was dating Damon.
"And for me to be with that brother of yours, right?" Danielle said because she knew the story about a Original being destined to be with a Petrova doppelganger.

"How did you know that I would stop Damon?" Stefan asked to the girls.
"I didn't. I was just hoping that you would want to..." Danielle said to the younger vampire.

Stefan started to remember what happened when he woke up at the Salvatore Boarding House, where was drinking the blood bags and Pierce sisters were with him.
"If Klaus gets killed he is taking Damon down with him." Danielle explained to him.
"So pull the plug on the plan." Stefan simply said to them.
"And face the wrath of Mikael? We'll all be dead! Okay look. I know that you've turned off your humanity and that you don't care, so there's only one solution." Katherine said to him already having a plan on her head too.
"What's that?" Stefan asked with sarcasm.
"Care, Stefan. Care enough to safe Damon's life. Because I am going back to that party and I'm seeing this plan through. Klaus will be killed. We'll have our freedom. But then Damon will be dead. Your brother will be dead, Stefan. Unless you care enough to do something about it." Katherine continued to explain.
"And don't forget that Eva will be devasted with his death and of course, Klaus would be laughing because he got his brother free to take Eva." Danielle said to him.
"What?" Stefan asked because he didn't knew the story of the Originals.

"You wanted Klaus dead for five hundred years. Why would you risk all that, just to safe Damon's life?" Stefan asked to them while they were still in the car.
"I wasn't just trying to safe Damon's life, Stefan. I was trying to safe yours. Your humanity. Let's just say I liked the old you better." Katherine said to him.
"But I was trying to safe Damon's life." Danielle said to him.
"Come on, girls. You don't care about anybody but yourself. You never have." Stefan said to the girls remembering their past.
"You and I both know that that is not true. I loved you, my sister loved Damon. Humanity is a vampire's greatest weakness... No matter how easy it is to turn it off- it just keeps trying to fight it's way back in. Sometimes I let it." Katherine said to him explaining why they saved his brother's life.
"I can't let it all back in. I don't want to. Not after everything I've done." Stefan stated to the girls.
"Of course you don't want to. But if you don't let yourself feel, you won't be able to do what I need you to do next." Danielle said to him.
"What's that?" Stefan asked them.
"Get mad." Danielle said with a smirk.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Rebekah's daggered body was lying on the floor with her phone ringing on the floor beside her. It was Klaus.

"Rebekah, where are you? Pick up the phone, darling. Daddy is dead. It's time for a family reunion." Klaus said leaving a message to her when he received another call and switched to it.

In the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon was in his room awake while Eva was sleeping with her head on his shoulder. They had made love and now Eva was sleeping. Stefan had to have a reason to do that but what? With those thoughts on his head he fell asleep with his girl on his arms.

"Stefan! Miss me already?" Klaus asked him happily because the vampire that hunted him for the last thousands of years was finally dead.
"I'm just calling to thank you for my freedom." Stefan said to him.
"Oh, I like to believe I'm a man of my word, more or less." Klaus said with a smirk on his lips.
"Thing is, it came at too high of a price. You took everything from me, Klaus." Stefan stated to Klaus already preparing to start his revenge.
"Let bygones be bygones, trust me. Resentment get's old." Klaus said approaching his truck in which he transports the caskets.
"You know what never get's old? Revenge." Stefan stated already smirking himself because he had the perfect plan.
"No." Klaus said when he opened the truck and saw that it was empty.
"What's the matter, Klaus? Missing something?" Stefan asked with sarcasm on his voice and smirk on his lips while looking around the large room where he had the coffins.
"What are you doing?" Klaus asked furious with Stefan.
"Just enjoying my freedom." Stefan said with a smirk on his lips even wider.
"I will kill you and everyone you've ever met!" Klaus said to Stefan really furious voice.
"You do that, and you will never see your family again. I wonder Klaus, as someone who has been one step ahead for a thousand years... are you prepared for this?" Stefan said to the hybrid and hanged up the phone.
