Chapter XIV
Dangerous Liaisons
At Klaus's Mansion, Esther had retired to a room which spelled to no one hear what she was doing. She was planning something and she was going to need the help of her oldest son. Meanwhile, in the living room, Elijah watched his siblings after he changed their clothes that were more appropriate for this century.
"I'm gonna see if mother needs something." Finn said to his siblings and went to join his mother on her room. When Kol heard the door close, he turned to his brothers.
"So, tell me, brother, it is truth that she is here?" Kol asked his brother.
"Yes, she is her. Her name is Eva and has a twin sister, which her name is Elena." Elijah started to explain to his younger brother. "They are the doppelgangers. Eva has Thora's face and Elena's has Tatia's face. Eva is with a vampire and his name is Damon and Elena is in a off and on relationship with a vampire named Stefan. They are brothers and their last name is Salvatore." The oldest Original finished.
"What? And Nik still didn't broke is curse?" Kol asked his brother but looking at Klaus, which was looking at the floor.
"He already broke it. The girls died but they came back to life. We don't know how and their blood mixed allows Nik to create the hybrids." Rebakah explained to her brother because she knew a little about what had happened when she had awoken in Chicago a few months ago.
"What? You killed my soulmate?" Kol asked with rage in his voice and ready to attack his brother but was stopped by Elijah.
"He killed his own soulmate. Elena is his soulmate. He is going to have to grovel to gain Elena's forgiveness." Elijah stated to Kol.
"I want to see her." Kol stated to his siblings.
"I'm going to talk with Elena and Eva. You can come with me but you need to be hidden in the shadows. They know about the prophecy but they need to come to us for answers not the way around. You wanna came with us, Rebekah?" Elijah asked turning to his sister.
"Yes. Do I need to stay in the shadows?" Rebekah asked to her brother.
"No. I need you to attack them because they don't know, that Elena was compelled to dagger you." Elijah stated which Rebekah nodded and the three of them left the house.

At Mystic Falls Hospital, it was already night and Matt was standing in the hallway waiting for Eva and Elena that were talking with the doctor. Elena and Eva walked over to him.
"How's Mr. Saltzman?" Matt asked to the girls.
"Resigned to spending the night in observation, so long as we promise to change the lock on the house." Elena said to Matt while someone was looking at them through a room window as they walk towards the exit.
"So I talked to Bonnie earlier. She and her mom are fine." Eva said to Matt and then remembered to ask him about Caroline. "Have you talked to Caroline?"
"Yeah, she's holding it together, considering how close she and her dad used to be. Any word on who's behind these attacks?" Matt asked to the girls.
"No, Sheriff Forbes said there's no real suspects at all." Elena said after she had called the Sheriff earlier when they were at the hospital in the parking lot. "How are you dealing with everything? I mean, you keep getting dragged into all of this." Elena asked him worried.
"You lost your sister too because of this vampire thing." Eva said to Matt remembering that he had suffered to.
"Honestly... I'm kind of lucky, the only thing that I have to worry about for tomorrow, is showing up for my shift at the Grill." Matt said to the girls.
"Thank you, for everything today. Really." Elena thanked Matt.
"Thank you so much." Eva thanked Matt too.
"Get home safe." Matt said to the girls.
"Thanks." The girls said while sighing and both walked to the car. Matt got into his car and reversed out. Elena and waved to him from inside the car as he was driving away.

While Elena, Eva and Matt were talking, the Originals siblings were watching them from the shadows. Kol couldn't stop looking at Eva, because the moment he looked at her, he started to feel a pull towards at her.
"She is so beautiful." Kol said like is startstruck."Who is that human boy?" He asked hoping that he was trying to get his soulmate.
"That's Matt Donavan. He is Elena's ex-boyfriend before she got with Stefan. He is a great friend to the girls." Rebekah explained to her brother.
"Go, Rebekah. I will help them and then I can speak with the girls. Just don't hurt them, especially Eva, or Kol will hurt you." Elijah instructed his sister and Kol nodded while they watched the boy leave in his truck.
"Good luck, sister." Kol said to her and she nodded.
"Go." Elijah said once again and then Rebekah went against the car when Elena was reversing.

After Elena saw that Matt left the hospital, she started her car, then started reversing and hit something, and with that she stopped driving immediately.
"What?" Elena said and then got out of the car to check her bumper with Eva following her out the car. They saw that was nothing ther. All of the sudden, Rebekah appeared behind the girls.
"Drive much?" Rebekah asked with some sarcasm on her voice.
"Rebekah." Elena said a little surprised.
"You are awake?" Eva asked surprised because she hadn't agreed with Stefan into daggering the blonde Original. Then Rebekah pushed Eva into the floor, then grabbed the other girl and pushed her against the car.
"Surprised? You drove a dagger through my back, Elena. It hurt." Rebekah said and then tried to bite Elena while she screamed.

All of the sudden, Elijah rushed over and held Rebekah against a car by her throat.
"Elijah." Rebekah said surprised to see her brother.
"Leave." Elijah said while released his his grip and Rebekah stepped forward. "Are you challenging me?" He asked his sister.
"You're pathetic. Both of you." Rebekah said and disappeared hoping their plan goes right this time.
"Well... I believe we have a little catching up to do." Elijah said while helping Eva of the floor and went to Elena to see if she was alright.

After Rebekah left Elijah with the twins, joining her brother Kol while they watched their brother talk with the girls.
"Eva is beautiful, even more then Thora." Kol said to her sister.
"And Elena too. I don't know how Nik is going to gain Elena's forgiveness." Rebekah said to her brother. "They are completely different from their doppelgangers. Tatia used our brothers and Thora was innocent in the middle of that. Katerina and Danika, those two were just like Tatia." The blonde Original said to Kol.
"I want to talk to her and make her mine." Kol confessed to his sister.
"Just like Nik wants to do with Elena but first the Salvatores need to be out of the way and you need to meet her first and be her friend. Then you can make her fall for you, just like Nik needs to do but we need to help him too." Rebekah said to her brother and he nodded his head while they watched Elijah talk with the twins.

At the Gilbert Residence, in the next morning, Eva, Elena, Stefan, and Damon were in the kitchen.
"It was their mother Esther who was sealed in that coffin." Elena explained to Damon and Stefan.
"As in the Original Witch?" Stefan asked them.
"Yes." Eva simply said to Stefan and Damon.
"What? How is she even alive? Thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago." Damon said after remembering what Eva and Elena told him about how the Originals became vampires.
"I don't know. I'm guessing she has a couple connections in the witching community since a thousands years." Elena suggested to them. "Elijah said that she wants to live in peace with her family, including Klaus." Elena continued to explain to them.
"She was supposed to be the weapon to help us kill Klaus." Stefan stated to them.
"Well, not anymore... at least not according to Elijah." Elena explained to the boys.
"And all the Originals are awake." Eva said to the boys.
"That coffin was the only thing stopping Klaus from tearing us to shreds." Stefan said to them worried with what Klaus would do.
"Anyone else feeling a little used right now?" Damon asked with some sarcasm.
"Look, Elijah promised me that his family wouldn't hurt any of us." Elena said to the boys when the doorbell rang. "I believe him." She said once again while her sister went to door and opened. No one was there, but on the doormat was an envelope with an ornately-handwritten Elena and Eva Gilbert on the front. Eva picked it up, closed the door and turned around, she saw that Elena, Damon and Stefan were in the lobby near her.
"What is it?" Damon asked to his girlfriend while she opened the envelope and removed a card from the inside.
"It's an invitation. Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration." Eva read what was on the card.
"Who the hell are the Mikaelsons?" Stefan asked with some curiosity on his voice.
"The Original Family." Eva said to them.
"It's not bad enough they're moving into town, now they want a housewarming gift for moving into our town?" The raven haired vampire stated and Eva turned the cart over and saw there was writing on the back.
"Wait, there's a note on the back. Eva and Elena, I think it's time that we finally meet, Esther." Eva said and looked at her sister with a worried expression on her face.

At Klaus' Mansion some music was playing and all the Originals were there. Rebekah was having her nails polished by an assistant. Kol was standing before a full-length mirror wearing a black evening suit while a tailor adjusts it which had to be perfect because this was the night that he was going to see his soulmate and he could finally talk with her. He was planning to know, if she felt the pull like he did when he saw her the night before but they need to look into each other eyes to the pull be stronger and when they touch their mark would appear on their wrists. From what Rebekah and Elijah explained, Eva was drinking vampire blood, Damon's vampire blood, which was creating a bond between them but when they see one another that bond will disappear which made him really happy. Eva will be his finally and Elena will be Klaus. He will protect all Eva's loved ones besides the Salvatores, Kol thought as he looked at himself in the mirror. Finn and Elijah were also standing in the room preparing for the ball.
"Rebekah? Tell me how handsome I am." Kol said to his sister with a smirk.
"Ah Kol, you know I can't be compelled." Rebekah said to her brother with a smirk too which mad Finn grin. All of the sudden, the door opened and Klaus walked in and up to Rebekah.
"You went after Elena and Eva? What is wrong with you?!" Klaus asked his sister because he didn't know the plan.
"Here we go." Rebekah said with a sigh.
"Do you want another dagger in your heart?" Klaus threatened his sister.
"Again with the dagger threats? Don't you have any other tricks?" Kol asked his brother still angry for being daggered for a century.
"Oh, go back to staring at yourself." Klaus said to his brother.
"And who are you, my father?" Kol asked his older brother with sarcasm.
"No, Kol, but you're in my house." Klaus stated to his brother.
"Then perhaps we should go outside." Kol said while both of them stared at each other when Esther walked in.

"Enough! Niklaus. Come." Esther said to his brother while they went to another room to have a conversation.
"Rebekah wasn't even out of her box a day before she tried to ruin my life. What happened to peace, acceptance, family?" Klaus asked to his mother.
"You put daggers in their hearts. You want them to go down on their knees and kiss your feet for reuniting them?" Esther asked him with a serious voice.
"So it's a crime to want our family to be as we were?" Klaus asked his mother.
"You need to give it time, Niklaus. I've had a thousand years on the other side to be angry and to heal. I'm here to make sure this family does the same." Esther stated to her hybrid son.
"I just don't understand. I killed you and still you forgive me." Klaus said to this mother remembering what happened a thousand years ago.
"It's been my dream for a thousand years that this family could be as one. Forgiveness is not a chore. It's a gift. Now, who are you bringing to the ball this evening?" Esther asked her son.
"Don't be ridiculous. You're lucky I'm even going." Klaus said sighing.
"Well, I wish you would reconsider. It is going to be a magical evening." Esther said to her son with a smile.

At the Gilbert Residence, the girls were still with the Salvatore brothers.
"If Esther wants to talk to me and Eva, maybe we should find out why." Elena sait to them because she wanted to ask questions to Elijah too about the prophecy.
"Well that's a dumb idea, she already tried to kill you both once." Damon stated to the girls.
"No, Elena is right. Bonnie was led to open that coffin for a reason. I think there is more to this than just some family reunion." Stefan said to his brother.
"Can we go back in time where the old Stefan cared if Elena and Eva, my girlfriend, lived or died?" The raven haired vampire asked his brother.
"What for? It's your job now." Stefan stated to his brother.
"Stefan has a point, Damon. We should find out what she wants." Elena said pointing to her and Eva.
"I want to know more about this prophecy about me and Elena being the soulmates of two Originals." Eva said to her boyfriend.
"You can't protect yourself." Damon stated to Elena and then turned to Eva. "Why do you want to know more about that prophecy?"
"I need to understand about that and doesn't mean that I'm going to break up with because I want to understand something." Eva stated to him.
"Okay fine, then I'll go." Stefan said to his brother.
"You've pissed off enough Originals to last a lifetime. I'll go." Damon said after accepting that Eva wanted answes and he would get them for her. Then he snatched the invitation out of Eva's hand.
"Hey!" Eva said to Damon.
"End of story." Damon said to the girls and left the house.

At Forbes Residence, Caroline's phone beeps twice. She picked it up and listened a voicemail from Tyler.
"Caroline, it's Tyler. I know I should have called sooner, I just kinda freaked out and left. But I heard about your dad and I'm sorry. I'm really sorry Caroline. I'm out doing what he said. I'm gonna fix myself and come home to you. I love you." Tyler said on the voicemail.
Then she picked up the invitation for the ball, she had decided to go because, she could at least, have some fun and help protect Eva and Elena. Then she opened the box where a blue dress was inside with a note. Come to the ball. I know you have your reasons to hate my family but we need to protect Elena and Eva. When I can, I will explain everything to you. Rebekah.

At the Gilbert House, another knocked on the door and Elena opened it and found two boxes with a ribbon around it on her doorstep. Elena brougt it inside bothe boxes and gave the other to her sister. Both looked at the envelope on it with their names handwritten on it. Both girls opened it and saw a new card with a new message for each of them. Elena turned it over and saw a message was written Save me a dance. Fondly, N.M. on the back.
"Seriously?" Elena asked because she didn't know who N.M. was. Then opened the box and saw a beautiful black dress which placed the lid back on the box. Meanwhile, Eva was reading her card to, which had the same message but was signed with another name that she dind't know who it was, Save me a dance. With all my love, K.M. Then she did the same as Elena and opened the box and it was a beautiful red dress.
"Who is this K.M.? And N.M." Eva asked her sister with a worried voice.
"I don't know." Elena said to Eva, worried too.

At the Mystic Grill, Eva and Elena were with Caroline.
"It's all so weird. The Originals are throwing a ball. Like an actual ball." Elena said to her friend a little shocked.
"It's some twisted Cinderella fetish is what it is. And why does the Evil Witch want an audience with you two?" Caroline asked them.
"I have no idea. There's only one way to find out." Elena said to her friend.
"And we want answers about that thing about soulmates and the prophecy." Eva said to Caroline too.
"I thought you told Damon and Stefan that you weren't going." Caroline said to the girls surprised that they were going.
"I did, which is all the more reason why I need a drama free bodyguard." Elena said because she knew that Damon and Stefan would be pissed.
"Damon, doesn't want me to go because is afraid of losing me." Eva said to her friend.
"Well, I think a Salvatore would look a lot better in a tux. And by that I mean Stefan and for Eva, Damon." Caroline pointed her finger to her friends.
"Uhh, I can't deal with either of the Salvatores right now. Whatever Stefan is feeling, he is channeling it all against Klaus. And Damon... it's just not a good idea." Elena said with a groan.
"Damon is scared about this thing about soulmates to the Originals… and he is more overprotective of me and Elena, which is says is protecting his girlfriend and baby sister." Eva explained to Caroline.
"Why, cause Eva and Damon are afraid of that story of soulmates and Elena, had a honest conversation with Damon about you being like siblings? Bonnie spilled the beans." Caroline said to the girls.
"I was gonna tell you. Just, after everything happened with your dad..." Elena said to her friend worried about her father's death.
"Elena, when you and Matt kissed for the first time freshman year, or Eva, when she kissed Tyler for the first time, you both called me the second it happened. And now I don't hear about this til now, and from somebody else." Caroline said with a sad tone.
"I'm sorry. It's just I, sorry, we don't even know how we feel about it yet. All we do know is that it just used to be so much easier." Elena said to her friend with a sigh when the Original blonde walked up.

"Careful Caroline. It's all well and good until Elena stabs you in the back." Rebekah said with some sarcasm on her voice.
"What are you doing here? I know your mom's rules. No hurting the locals." Elena stated to Rebekah.
"Get over yourself Elena. It's not all about you." Rebekah said and turned to Eva. "I hope seeing you on the ball, Eva." She said to Eva and then walked away over to Matt and gave him an invitation envelope to the ball.
"Oh my god. She's inviting him to the ball. Why is she inviting him?" Caroline asked surprised to see Rebekah giving the invitation.
"Probably to get this reaction from us." Elena said to her friend and sister.
"What time is this stupid dance?" Caroline asked with scoff.
"I don't know." Eva said to her friend with a shrug.

It was already evening and people were at Klaus' Mansion, which could be watched cars were pulling up the driveway in front of the mansion. Inside there were a lots of people talking and a live band was playing some classical music. Damon was already there and walked over to Carol Lockwood and gave her a glass of champagne.
"Hello Carol." Damon said to Carol Lockwood.
"Hello." Carol said to Damon and they clank glasses.
"Hanging out with your new besties?" Damon asked with sarcasm on his voice.
"I'm the mayor, Damon. When the oldest, deadliest, family of vampires moves into your town, you welcome them with a smile." Carol explained to Damon.
"Hmm, Well at least you know who you're borrowing that cup of sugar from." Damon said with the same tone to her.
"I'm trying to protect this town. They've assured me they want peace, and I've assured them that I'd enforce it." Carol stated to Damon when Kol walked over and kissed Carol's hand as he greeted her.

"Mayor Lockwood. We haven't formally met. Kol Mikaelson. I hope your lovely town embraces us just as much as we plan to embrace it." Kol said to her with a smirk on his lips and Damon froze when he heard the name.
"Damon Salvatore. Have we met?" Damon said while held out his hand to shake Kol's hand and the Original didn't shook his hand.
"I've met a lot of people. And you don't particularly stand out." Kol said and then walked away because he knew he was with his girl. Then he smelled her scent and saw Damon watching Eva and Elena entering wearing an exquisite dresses, the one he bought to give Eva and the one his brother bought to Elena. All he could do was stare at Eva and the other side of the room, Klaus was staring at Elena.

"Excuse me, Carol." Damon said while left the Mayor and joines his brother and walked over to Eva and Elena, to meet them.
"What are you doing here?" Elena asked to the boys.
"I could ask you the same thing." Stefan said to the girls.
"Surprise, surprise. Nice tux. You're not supposed to be here." Damon said to the girls because he didn't like that Eva and Elena were there, specially because of Kol.
"Well, I am. And I'm not leaving until I find out what Esther wants. So, shall we?" The youngest of the twins offered her arm to Stefan and he wrapped his in it.
"Shall we, Eva?" Damon asked his girlfriend and She looked at Damon while he did the same, and she took his arm with her arm. Both Salvatores escort the girls into the party, while both Kol and Klaus looked at them with jealousy.

At the Forbes Residence, Caroline was searching through her closet looking for something to wear for the ball when she finally choose a dress that she found on her closet that was her favourite.

At Klaus' Mansion, Caroline entered in the mansion and Klaus noticed her from across the room and walked over to meet her. He wanted to explain to her the prophecy to her and because he wanted her help to make Elena his.
"Good evening." Klaus said to Caroline with a smirk on his lips.
"I need a drink." Caroline said and walked away from him which made Klaus smirking because it was going to be perfect for him to tell her about the prophecy and the soulmate thing.

Meanwhile, at the drinks bar Finn walked up to Elena and Eva.
"Elena and Eva Gilbert, I presume? I'm Finn Mikaelson. You two are here to see my mother." Finn said to the two girls.
"Is she here?" Elena asked Finn.
"Her request did not include your friends." Finn said looking around for the Salvatores and Caroline.
"They're protecting me and my sister. You may not know but your mother's already tried to kill us once." Eva said to Finn.
"If you want to see my mother, you'll need to be alone." Finn said looked to the stairs when Elijah was preparing to make a announcement.
"We are going to try." Eva said knowing that Damon and Stefan were going to try to stop them.
"How?" Elena asked her sister while Finn watched the two sisters.

"Uh, if everyone could gather, please." Elijah said to all the guests.
"Excuse me." Finn and joined his siblings. Then all the Originals are standing on the staircase as Elijah addresses to the company. Esther walked down the staircase from upstairs. Kol was looking at Eva and Klaus was looking at Elena.
"Welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance." Elijah said to all of them.

While Elijah was speaking, Damon and Stefan noticed Esther.
"Do you see who I see?" Damon asked his brother.
"Oh, yeah." Stefan agreed with his brother.
"Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom." Elijah finished telling to the guests.

Esther retreated silently back upstairs. Elena and Eva moved to go upstairs, but Damon and Stefan blocked their way.
"Don't even think about it." Damos stated to the girls.
"She wants to see us alone, Damon." Eva stated to her boyfriend.
"Well sucks to be her then. Was I not clear this morning?" Damon said looking from his girlfriend to her sister.
"I was invited. Just like Eva." Elena stated to Damon.
"You have to tell me before you walk into a lion's den." Damon said to the girls.
"Damon, you know my reasons to come here." Eva stated to her boyfriend.
"Why so that you can stop me? Or Eva?" Elena asked him starting to get pissed at the raven haired vampire.
"Uhh... Yes!" Damon said and extended his hand towards Eva. "It would be rude not to dance, you know." Eva relented, took his hand and curtsied.
"It is tradition." Eva said to him and both of them walked out to the ballroom as Stefan watched them with a depressed look on his face because he wanted to dance with Elena while in the ballroom, everyone was dancing the waltz. "You look stunning, if it isn't obvious." Damon said to his girlfriend ans kissed her lips with a smile.
"Thank you." Eva said smiling to her boyfriend.

When Kol watched Damon taking Eva's hand and they left to the ballroom, he started to get some rage on his blood but then he decided to dance with Elena, to get information about Eva, her relationship and of course, help his brother to get his girl.
"Come, Darling. Let's dance." Kol said with a smirk on his lips.
"You must be a Mikaelson." Elena said to him with a surprised look on her face.
"Yes, I am. My name is Kol." The youngest Mikaelson took her to the ballroom and they started to dance.
"So, you are the Original that is supposed to be with my sister." Elena concluded after he said his name.
"Yes, you are right, Darling." Kol nodded his head and they continued to dance.
"Do you know who I am supposed to be with?" Elena asked Kol with curiosity on her voice.
"I know but I promised not to tell. I think he wants to make you a surprise." Kol said with a smirk because he knew that his brother was going to ask Caroline's help him to apolozige to Elena and make her love him. "What you can tell me about your beautiful sister?" Kol asked her with a smile while talking about Eva.
"She loves her family and honesty." Elena started to tell Kol some things about Eva and was surprised to see his smiling growing. "She is always protective of those she loves and hates cheaters…" She continued to tell him.
"Cheaters?" Kol asked not understanding the word.
"Someone who bretays the other person you love. Her first boyfriend did that to her and she was really pissed." Elena said to him and saw emotions on Kol's eyes.
"Someone betrayed her? Who is he?" Kol asked her worried about Eva and really hoped it wasn't the Salvatore.
"Klaus first sucesseful hybrid. Tyler Lockwood." Elena said to Kol. "But don't do anything to him because even after everything they mended their friendship. Don't force her to be with you. Start a friendship and if you make her love you, I just ask one little thing… don't hurt her." The youngest of the Gilbert twins and Kol nodded his head with a smile.

On the dance floor, Caroline and Klaus were dancing together and they both heard what Elena said to Kol which made Caroline surprised.
"That's the guy that is supposed to be with Eva?" The blonde vampire asked Klaus.
"Yes, he is. And for her, Kol will do anything that she needs him to be." The Original explained to her.
"And Elena?" Caroline asked with some curiosity.
"I'm glad you came." Klaus started to say to her. "Because I need your help." He finally admitted that he need help from someone.
"Well, it was either caviar or sympathy casseroles." Caroline said with some sarcasm on her voice. "My help in what?" She asked surprised when remembered what he had said to her.
"I heard about your father." Klaus said to her with some emotion on his voice.

Kol and Eva continued to dance in the ballroom but all Kol wanted to do was take Eva to his room and consummate the mating bond with her, but he had to wait. The first step was become her friend and being there for. The second step was wait for Salvatore to make mistakes and he will be there for her.
"I heard that you are going to meet my mother." Kol said while looking at her eyes.
"Yes, she wants to me and my sister." Eva nodded her head.
"Can you tell me what she wanted?" Kol asked her looking into her eyes.

Outside, Elena and Stefan were walking onto the lawn alone.
"If Esther is secretly on our side, we need to know. But Eva and me can't get to her with two bodyguards." Elena explained to Stefan.

"Because Damon won't let me and Eva anywhere near her without protection. And you care about killing Klaus more than you care about anything, so..." Elena continued to say and Stefan reacted by looked down which Elena noticed him doing that. "What? Am I wrong?" Elena asked him.
"No, you're not wrong." Stefan agreed with her. "What do you need me to do?" He then asked Elena what she needed.
"Make sure that Eva and I can get into that room with Esther. Alone." Elena said to the youngest Salvatore.

"I can do this." Elena stated and started to walk away but stopped and turned around to look at him. "When we were together you used to let me make my own decisions. You trusted me. After all this at least that hasn't changed." Elena said to him and turned around again.

Rebekah said looking at him because he wanted a human girl and knew that their brother, Finn was listening their conversation and didn't want him to destroy everything Kol and Nik wanted. "I brought him here to kill him. He is Eva and Elena's friend. If he dies they both suffer. But I've already been scolded once so I was hoping you'd help your baby sister out."
"And spit right in the face of mother's rules?" Kol said with a smile. "I'm in." He said and with a signal saying that they were going to kill Matt but only to protect the girls from his older brother.

Inside Esther's room, Finn was sharpening a knife while Esther was burning some herbs when there was a knock on the door.
"That'd be the girls." Esther said and Finn walked over to the door and opened it, revealing Elena and Eva standing there alone.

"You're alone. Wise choice." Finn said to the girls and the twins walked inside and noticed Esther holding some herb.
"It's only sage. I've spelled it so we can speak freely without fear of being overheard by anyone. That'll be all Finn, thank you." Esther said to her son and Finn left. "You must have a million questions for me Elena and you too, Eva. Please." Esther said and gestured towards the sofa and they sit on it.
"How are you alive? Are you a ghost? Or..." Elena started to ask her.
"Not exactly. When I died the witch Ayana preserved my body with a spell. She was a close friend of mine, an ancestor of your friend Bonnie." Esther explained to the girls.
"So that's why only Bonnie and her mother could open up the casket." Eva concluded after she had heard Esther.
"They complete the Bennett bloodline. I drew power from them and their ancestors who were with me on the other side." Esther explained to the girls.
"So you have been on the other side for a thousand years?" Elena asked her with some curiosity on her voice.
"Nature's way of punishing me for turning my family into vampires. But there is a way for me to undo the evil I created." Esther continued to say to the girls.
"You're gonna help us kill Klaus, aren't you?" Eva asked Esther but she felt bad feeling about this plan.
"One thing at a time Eva. For now, I simply need your help." Esther said to them.

Caroline was outside, admiring the horses when Klaus approached her.
"You like horses?" Klaus asked Caroline.
"I'm not talking to you until you tell me why you invited me here." The blonde vampire said to Klaus when he felt his presence.

"Yes!" Caroline shouted at him.
"Why?" Klaus asked her surprised by her shout.
"You are a bad guy and because of you my boyfriend left." She stated to him.
"But I thought you could help me." Klaus said to Caroline.
"Yeah, I will because of you and your freaky sire bond with him." Caroline said with some sarcasm on her voice.
"So you aren't going to help me. You know, horses are the opposite of people. They're loyal. My father hunted me for a thousand years and the closest he ever came was the day he killed my favorite horse. He severed its neck with a sword as a warning." Klaus told her some of his past.
"Did you ever consider sitting down with your father and talking it out? Or in this thing that you want my help with?" Caroline asked him.
"Well, I am afraid my relationship with my father was a little bit more complex than yours with your father." Klaus said to her.
"Maybe so. But I let my father go with no regrets. And to answer your question, yes, I like horses. But I also like people and they actually like me so I'll be inside." Caroline said and left him alone.

In Esther's study, she was lighting some candles.
"I understand Rebekah shared the story of my family. How I upset the balance of nature by turning my children into vampires." Esther continued to talk with the girls.
"She said you did it to protect them from the werewolves." Elena said to Esther.
"It's true. But in no time at all, they began to feed on human blood. They ravaged the town with no remorse. Eventually, Niklaus turned against me." Esther explained with a sad tone to them.
"How are you gonna kill him? He's immortal." Eva asked her.
"It will take time, magic, and your assistance." Esther said looking at them.
"What do we have to do with it?" Elena asked Esther.
"My children believe I'm holding this ball to celebrate our reunion. But in truth I've gathered them together to perform a ritual. The first step requires blood from the doppelgängers. Only a drop. Its essence will be in the champagne toast later on this evening. Will you do it or shall I?" Esther asked while helding a long thin knife in her hands. Elena and Eva looked taken aback, but after a moment's consideration they removed their gloves and they gave their fingers to Esther to prick. Then Esther pricked it and squeezed the blood into a glass chalice that's filled with liquid. "Elijah is more suspicious than the others, so he may need more persuasion. Kol always has been paranoid because he was a witch like me. But they must all drink at the toast in order to be linked as one." Esther finished explained to her.
"What do you mean linked as one?" Eva asked a little confused by that.
"You said yourself Klaus can't be killed. But tonight's spell links all my children together, so that if one goes, they all go." Esther explained to them their goal.
"What?" Elena asked while Eva was in complete shock.
"I love my family, girls, but they are an abomination. I betrayed nature when I created them. It's my duty to kill them." Esther said with a decisive voice.

In the Foyer, Kol was walking with Rebekah.
"I'm itching to kill something. What are we waiting for?" Kol said to his sister.
"The mayor cornered me. Give me fifteen minutes to lure Matt outside." Rebekah said to Kol and remembered him with her eyes that Matt is Eva's friend. If you want her start to be friends with her friends.
"Outside? What's wrong with right here on the stairs? Make a spectacle of it." Kol said to his sister.
"You sound like an idiot, Kol. Mother would kill you if you ruined her party. See you outside." Rebekah said and left him alone.

In the library, Damon was starting to wake up.

"Ah, don't blame me. This was all Elena, right down to the broken neck." Stefan said and pushed Damon off him. "Eva doesn't know about what Elena did and you know, maybe you should stop being such a controlling dick, Damon." The youngest Salvatore said to his brother.
"Wait. Hang on. I'm the problem here?" Damon asked still angry.
"You're a liability, brother." Stefan stated to Damon.
"I'm trying to keep them alive, Stefan." Damon stated to his brother too.
"Yeah, well, your emotions are getting in the way of our plan." Stefan said to the raven haired vampire about his feelings about Eva.
"My emotions? How is this even happening right now?" Damon asked his brother with sarcasm lacing his voice.
"Maybe because you care too damn much." Stefan concluded to Damon.

Rebekah and Matt were walking outside through the cars parked on the lawn.
"So... What are we doing out here?" Matt asked to the blonde Original.

"This is your car?" Rebekah asked him while he picked up his jacket from the car set.
"Yep." Matt and closed the car door. "If I could compel myself a Maserati, I would. But I can't." He said and put his jacket over Rebekah's shoulders.
"Oh! I'm a vampire. We don't... Thanks." Rebekah said and looked around. "Let's go back inside. Because I got all the fresh air I need." She said and Kol was standing in the background watching coldly when he saw Eva looking around for something.

When Eva was looking around for Kol to tell him his mother's plan all of the sudden appeared in front of her.
"Looking for someone?" Kol said on Eva's hear.
"Yes, I was." Eva said turning to him and smiled at Kol.

"I think you know. Come on, I need to talk to you… But can be in words." Eva said but at first didn't understand what she was saying. She takes his hand and they started to walk to a private place for her to tell him. They found a bench and Eva reached her neck and took her necklace with vervain. "I took my vervain necklace for you to get inside my head and see my conversation with your mother." Eva told him and gave her hand to him to see everything. With that, Kol enterered her mind and saw everything inside that room and understood that Eva and Elena didn't like Klaus but would never hurt the rest of them. Poor Klaus, he would need so much help to get his soulmate.
"Thank you, Eva." Kol said and kissed her check. "I will always protect you and I want to be your friend and maybe I can, one day, have your whole heart."
"Warn your siblings because Elena is inside and your brother Finn is watching us, to see if we tell you." Eva explained to him while she put her vervain necklace around her neck to protect her from compulsion. Kol gave her nod and used his vampire speed to go warn his siblings, which they all decided to drink the champagne for their mother do not suspect anything.

In the foyer, Elena was standing alone when Elijah sidles up to her, already knowing what was his mother plan because Eva told Kol and he understood that Elena couldn't tell him anything because Finn was watching her and Eva.

"And for what reason did she need to speak with you in private?" Elijah asked Elena while offered hera glass of champagne. Elena noticed that Esther was on the staircase looking at her and Eva, that came inside and was beside Kol. "Elena? Should I be concerned about my mother's intentions?" Elijah asked her.
"She just wanted to apologize for trying to have me and Eva killed." Elena said to him hoping that Eva had time to warn Kol and for him warn his siblings about Esther's plan.
"So it's true, then? She's forgiven Klaus?" Elijah asked her again.
"It's true." She nodded her head to Elijah.

Everyone started to rang with the crystal cups and Esther addressed to the guests from the staircase, while she already had a glass of red-tinged champagne in her hand.
"Good Evening, Ladies and Gentleman. Waiters are coming around with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. Later, Klaus and Caroline were alone in a room filled with paintings on the walls and he hoped, talk to her into helping him with Elena.
"So what did you want to show me?" Caroline asked Klaus looking at him.
"One of my passions." Klaus said to Caroline.
"Oh. Impressive. I take it the curators at the Louvre aren't on vervain." Caroline said with some sarcasm on her voice.
"Yeah, well that's their mistake." Klaus said chuckling.
"What about these? Where'd you steal this from?" Caroline said helding her wrist the bracelet that he gave on it.
"It was to apologize for what I did and a birthday present. And well, that's a long story. But rest assured it was worn by a princess almost as beautiful as you." Klaus explained to Caroline making her roll her eyes.
"Wait a second. Did-did you do these?" She asked looking down at some sketches.
"Yeah, um... actually one of my landscapes is hanging at the Hermitage, not that anyone would notice. Have you been?" Klaus asked her.
"I've never really been anywhere." Caroline said to Klaus.
"We will take you. Wherever you want Rome. Paris. Tokyo? We, the Originals, will take you." Klaus said to her.
"Oh wow!" She said and both laughed. "Must be really nice to just snap your fingers and get whatever you want. Is that why you collect hybrids? A little servant army to take you places and bring you things." Caroline said once again.
"You're making assumptions." Klaus told her again.
"Then why do you need Tyler? Stop controlling him. Give him his life back." Caroline pleaded to him.
"You know, this has been a fun evening, but I think it's time for you to understand something." Klaus said to her.
"I get it. Your father didn't love you, so you assume that no one else will either. And that's why you compel people or you sire them or you try to buy them off." Caroline said and took her bracelet off and throws it on the table. "But that's not how it works. You don't connect with people, because you don't even try to understand them." The blonde vampire said and started to leave and Klaus finally asked her for some help.
"I need yoy help." Klaus said to her with a pleading voice.
"With what?" Caroline asked him surprised.
"With Elena. With the soulmate thing." Klaus confessed to her.
"They told me about that thing of soulmates. Elena is yours?" Caroline asked him and the Original Hybrid nodded his head. "You want my help?" She asked surprised.
"Yes, I want to apologize and everything." Klaus said to Caroline.
"Apologize first and then start as her friend. Little by little show her the real you because Elena will not change you… What she will want is to see the real you and then you can be the evil person you are to the others but to her is going to be the real you that is going to be the man she wants… She is all about family just like Eva, so tell that to your brother too." Caroline said and walked away leaving a smiling Klaus behind.

Meanwhile under the stairs, Kol walked up to Rebekah.
"There you are. I was waiting outside for you. Where's Matt?" Kol asked his sister to continue their plan.

"Don't tell me you like this boy. What did he do? He gave you five seconds of his attention?" Kol asked with a sigh. "Don't be so predictable Rebekah." Kol said with a smirk on his lips.
"You don't have to be rude about it. Just leave him be, okay?" Rebekah pleaded to her brother and walked away.
"As you wish, sister." Kol said with a smirk on his lips again.

In the foyer, Damon was walking behind Eva and Elena.
"Eva. Elena. Did you get what you want?" Damon asked to the two girls.
"Actually, yes." Eva said to him but saw that Damon was mad about something. "What happened for you to be pissed?" She asked worried.
"Good, tell me on the ride home. We're leaving. Come on." Damon said and grabbed both girls by their arms.
"Uh no, Damon let go of me and my sister. Look, I'm sorry that I had to cut you out of the plan." The youngest of the twins.
"Cuting him out from the plan, Lena?" Eva asked not understanding anything.
"There shouldn't have been a plan and you didn't tell your sister? You and your sister shouldn't be here." Damon continued to say still mad at Elena.
"What plan?" Eva asked still confused.
"Do you think I like going behind your back? I don't. But if I hadn't asked Stefan to help, then you would've tried to be the hero, and it would've ruined everything." Elena said to him starting to get mad at him.
"Sorry for trying to keep you and your sister alive. Clearly Stefan doesn't give a crap anymore." Damon stated to Elena.
"Now you're mad at me for including Stefan?" Elena asked him surprised.
"No, I'm mad at you because I love your sister more than anything and you put her in danger! And I promised to protect you." Damon exploded to her.
"Well, maybe that's the problem." Elena stated to Damon which made him visibly rocked by what she had said and Eva was in complete shocked by what Elena had said to her bofriend. "No. That's not what I…"
"No, I got it, Elena. I care too much. I'm a liability. How ironic is that?" Damon said in a voice without emotion.

Meanwhile, Matt was walking past the balcony when he heard his name whispered at him from the balcony which Matt stop and walking onto the balcony. No one was there. Matt turned and was just about to leave when Kol appeared behind him.
"Good evening. You're Rebekah's friend. We haven't met." Kol said to Matt hoping to shake hands to tell him the plan.
"Matt Donovan." Matt said and give his hand to Kol to shake.
"Kol Mikaelson." Kol said while said in Matt's mind that he needed to do this to show to his mother that she needed to follow her plan. Matt nodded and Kol started squeezing Matt's hand tightly when suddenly an audible cracking sound was heard.
"Aah!" Matt shouted and Matt fell to the floor.

"Damon! Are you crazy?" Stefan shouted at his brother while the Mikaelsons, Eva and Elena came out from the opened door and saw what happened.
"Damon, what have you done?" Eva asked him worried that Kol now was going to take his revenge on her boyfriend.
"Maybe a little." The raven haired vampire said while looked at Eva and to Elena. "Far be it for me to cause a problem." He finished, then turned his back and walks away.

At the Forbes House, later, Caroline was in her bedroom and left a message for Tyler on his cellphone.
"Tyler, it's me. Look, I'm grateful for what you're doing, but... I miss you... and I really wish you were here." She said into the voicemail and hanged up the call and then she looked in her dresser mirror and saw another present from the Original hybrid on her bed. "Seriously? Just give up already." Caroline said with a scoff and opened the present and took out a rolled-up piece of paper. It's a sketch of her and a horse, and on it Klaus has written Thank you for your honesty and help, Klaus.

At Klaus' Mansion, after the ball, Esther was in her study and Elijah was with her.
"No violence, that was all I asked. Your sister, Rebekah and your brother, Kol disgraced our family tonight." Esther said to her son.

"Thank you, Elijah. I wish the others were more like you." Esther said and Elijah left the room.

"Of course not, it's just Elijah. He's so moral." Esther said to her oldest son.
"You're doing the right thing, mother." Finn agreed with Esther.
"You understand what this means, don't you? This spell I'm casting tonight will bind you all together as one." Esther explained to Finn trying to see if he understood what that meant for him.
"I understand. When it is time, I will be ready to die." Finn said to his mother because he wanted to die.
"Then we must complete the link." Esther said and cut Finn's hand and the blood spilled onto the paper. Then she started to recite a spell to link all of them in one. "Phasmatos inta grum vin callus... Amalon callagius accodam... Cosom naben dox...Callagius amalon... Gaeda callagius ceremum... Phamato descendium vinum... Phasmatos inta grum vin callus... Cosom naben dox." Esther said chanting the spell and the blood spread across the scroll, connecting the names together like the branches of a tree. "The link is complete. You are one." She finally said and the paper begins to burn.

At the Gilbert Residence, Stefan walked Elena inside.
"So uh, Esther wants to kill her whole family. How is that for Mother of the Year?" The vampire asked Elena.
"Yeah. And I got to look Elijah right in the eye and lie to him about it." Elena said to the youngest Salvatore without telling him that Eva told Kol about Esther's plan.
"Well, good. I can't say I'll be sorry to see any of them go." Stefan said to Elena.
"Eva and I just signed their death sentences, Stefan." Elena said to him hoping that he wouldn't know that she was lying.
"No, you and Eva signed Klaus's death sentence, Elena. Everyone else is just collateral damage." Stefan said honestly to her.
"It's not that simple." Elena said to her ex-boyfriend.
"Their family has brought you and Eva nothing but darkness, Elena. It is that simple. So, uh... where's Damon? I would think that he'd wanna make sure you and Eva got home safely." Stefan asked Elena.
"Eva must be with him. I'll call him and let him know." Elena said to him.
"What was with him going after Kol?" Stefan asked Elena.
"Damon is pissed because Eva is Kol soulmate and he is being self-destructive. I said something I didn't mean." Elena said to Stefan.
"So did I. Anyway, uh, good night." Stefan said and prepared to leave when Elena went after him.
"Stefan. Did you really not feel anything?" Elena asked him looking into his eyes.
"When?" He asked her surprised by her question.
"How do you do that? Act like you don't care, like you don't feel anything? Because I can't do that. I... I feel. I feel everything." Elena said to him with a emotional voice.
"Elena, stop." Stefan told her with a stern voice.
"I'm not going to stop, Stefan, because I don't believe that you feel nothing." Elena said to Stefan because she knew him.
"What? You think I want to be this person? I hurt you, Elena. I bit you. I hate myself for what I did to you." Stefan said with hate on his voice.
"Then show it! Do something, Stefan, anything is better than trying to convince me that you don't care." Elena said and grabbed Stefan's face in her hands.
"I can't." Stefan stated to her.
"Stefan." Elena pleaded with Stefan while he grabbed Elena's wrists and removed her hands from his face.
"If I let myself care, all I feel is pain." Stefan stated and left Elena clearly upset.

At Mystic Grill, Matt was sitting at the bar, drinking coffee. He had a bandage around his right hand which was crushed by Kol. Rebekah walked up to him.
"Hi. What are you doing?" Rebekah asked Matt worried.
"Well let's see, I went to a dance and got my hand crushed. I found out that I don't have health insurance, so I just needed a minute to myself." Matt said to her understanding that she was theres to help him because of what that vampire said to him.
"Well, I thought, maybe I'd buy you an apology drink." Rebekah said to him.
"Maybe you could just leave me alone." Matt said to her because he had to play their game if he wanted his hand healed.
"Look, I'm… I'm really sorry about Kol. He's a lunatic." Rebekah said because she saw that Damon and Eva came inside the bar.
"Look, Rebekah, you're really fun and pretty and all, but I really need you to leave me alone." Matt said while getting up and left. Eva saw and went after him with Rebekah right behind her.

Matt was to the backroom when Eva entered too. She was worried about him. What had happened shouldn't have happened. A second later Rebekah entered too.
"Matt, are you alright?" Eva asked him worried.
"I'm fine. Kol explained to me." Matt said to her.
"Kol?" Eva asked with curiosity.
"My brother wanted to play, meaning, play a game with mommy dearest." Rebekah said to both of them. "Here some of my blood to heal you." Rebekah said again giving him her wrist.
"Game?" Eva asked still not understanding.
"What you told him at the ball." Rebekah said to her enfazing every word which Eva started to understand. After Matt had his hand healed, the vampire and the human girl left the backroom and went to the bar.

After seeing Eva and Renekah coming back from somewhere, Damon walked up to them carrying a nearly-empty alcohol bottle.
"Burn. Rejected by the captain of the football team. Welcome to adolescence." Damon said and drank the last of the bottle.
"Stop provoking an Original, Damon!" Eva said and punched his arm.
"Shut up, Damon. Knew I should have killed him. Mother wouldn't let me." Rebekah said mainting her and her siblings plan on while Damon grabbed a liquor bottle from behind the counter and passed to Eva.
"Well... never let people tell you what to do." Damon said while pouring a shot for himself, Eva and Rebekah. They drank them.
"Like always." Eva said with a smirk which made him smirk too.
"Besides... you would have broken him in a second." Damon said a smirk which made his girlfriend laugh a little.
"Are you suggesting I can't be gentle?" Rebekah asked with a sarcastic tone.
"Damon, leave her alone!" Eva said because she didn't stop a fight between the two.
"No. I'm just saying that you should find someone a little more durable. That's all." The raven haired vampired suggested.
"And who would that be?" Rebekah asked with a smirk.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon and Eva entered Damon's bedroom, in a heated make out session, they really wanted to be together after that ball. They ripped each other's clothes off and Damon continued kissing Eva on the neck. Then he pushed her on his bed. After, Eva showed Rebekah a room for her to sleep because she didn't want to go home. When she was in her bed, she started to hear things being thrown on the floor. It had to be Eva and Damon having sex on his room. Then she heard some moans and groans around the house.
"Never thought about that Eva likes rough sex just sweet…" Rebekah said with a smirk on her lips. "Kol is gonna love to know that to join to the other things he already loved about Eva Gilbert, his soulmate and her sister-in-law. She was going to start make Elena and Eva her best friends too.

Eva catches Damon cheating on her with someone (I was thinking in Danielle) and Eva and Elena's powers awaken when Jeremy dies.
What do you think if Elena and Eva leave with them to New Orleans at the end of season 4 and are there with them and be part of the show The Originals?
