"Now, now, Taiga.. how about we wait for Ryouta and Daiki to get here so we all can have a quick chat before you go sprinting off to who knows where. It's been a few hours since we've all been in one place."

Shintarou nodded swiftly towards the figure clad in the school's uniform for the more prestigious and privileged teenagers, who also had a gold wrist cuff latched on quite tightly but not tight enough to hurt.

"Greetings yet again, Seijuro."

The only thought in Kagami's mind was 'Ohhh I'm in so much trouble-'

Chapter 5

A Filler & Determination

Kagami was fidgeting with the leftover wrapper of his burger nervously, while waiting for the rest of their little ragtag group to gather in the cafeteria. It wasn't long before the doors slammed open and while everyone turned to give the intruders of the peace a glare, Kise and the navy-blue haired trailing along behind him couldn't really bother to spare anyone not from their own group a glance. Sidling into a seat on Kagami's right, Kise leaned over the edge of the table to address Akashi directly.

"Seijurocchi, have you seen her yet? Have you?" The other redhead in question just smiled lightly back at the blond. "Not at the moment, unfortunately. But our Taiga here is a different story." Kagami just sighed in resignation as both the blonde and navy-haired teenager turned to stare at him, eyes practically begging for him to tell them the whole story.

"Nothing really happened. I just accidentally sat at her table because I didn't even see her sitting there and then we just... starting talking, I guess." Kagami shrugged his shoulders, relaxing back into the chair and pulling open yet another burger wrapper as the two teenagers that just arrived continued to stare silently. "...what?" He questioned nervously, getting slowly unnerved with their skeptical gazes. "That's it?" They both asked at the same time, incredulously.

"Uhm... yeah? What else was supposed to happen?.. oh, hey Atsushi." He replied, side-eyeing the approaching teenager with a head of silky violet hair who just gave Kagami an almost blank look and a small nod before pulling out the chair beside Akashi to take a seat. Akashi smiled lightly at Atsushi and patted his hand gently before turning back to face Kagami. "You bonded with her though, didn't you? I felt a phantom connection form about a half an hour ago, just before we all got here."

Kagami sighed and bobbed his head, pulling his hand away from his drink to unlatch the cuff loosely bound to his wrist. Yet again, just like Kise's, there was a much smaller name written in cursive just under the beginning of his thumb.

'Kuroko Tetsuki '

The rest of the group stared down at his wrist in silence for a good minute before Kise unlatched his own wrist cuff and placed his arm right beside Kagami's. It was definitely the same name and writing style. The green-haired one reached forward to grab both the other teen's cuffs and tightened them back onto their wrists. "It won't do to have the whole school know about our new soulmate. They may scare her off." Midorima leaned back into his chair, one of his hands resting on top of the cover of the tome he borrowed from the library and the other beginning to fiddle with the black frame glasses upon the bridge of his nose. "I believe we need to be discreet when trying to find her ourselves."

Akashi immediately agreed. "Seeing as how she ran away the two times she has bonded with someone, it's either she's doesn't want the connection, scared of us or..." He paused, eyebrows furrowing and a frown pulling the corners of his lips ".. someone or something could be forcing her to not bond with anyone."

The blue haired teen, Aomine Daiki, scowled and clenched his fists. "To hell anyone is! She's our soulmate to care for, who are they to-" Aomine would have continued to rant if not for Kise punching him lightly in the shoulder. "Would you quiet down? People are listening." Kise tilted his head slightly to the side to bring notice to the people a few tables down from them that were leaning into to catch the rest of their group's conversation. When the unwanted listeners saw the entire group noticed them, they all grabbed their trays, threw their garbage out and scurried out of the cafeteria.

Five pairs of eyes get pulled back to Akashi as he sighed softly. "Guess it can't be helped then." He slid his book bag over his shoulders and smiled down at the group with twinkling, heterochromatic eyes. "We will try our hardest to find our missing piece. Whatever it takes." Akashi murmured. The rest of them exchanged glances with each other as Akashi took off in a slow pace through the cafeteria, all the students staring and whispering and theorizing about the shorter red-head as he gracefully exited the room. The table festered in silence for a good three minutes more as Kagami finished up his burgers before Aomine let out a rough chuckle.

"That man always has the right things to say in a tough situation. What a show-off.." The teen with violet hair shot the guy a look, but that just made Aomine laugh harder. "But what can I say? Love it when he gets like that. Shit happens after he gets a look like that." Kise huffed out a chuckle while his lips formed a wide, cheshire cat-like smile and in response says "He wants to find her, and 'Akashi Seijuro always gets what he wants.'". Midorima sighed in resignation, no doubt thinking that he couldn't stop his own soulmates from searching high and low for their missing bond, much less the Student Council president.

Not like he could say anything. The green haired one wanted to find her just as much as the rest of them. Atsushi just grunted his acknowledgment, and Kagami couldn't contain the small grin that broke out across his face. They would find her and protect her and love her. That what soulmates are for, right? Aomine leaned back into the chair and released a bout of breathless laughter.

"Either way, it was getting a little chummy around here."
