Lincoln had seen various dunk tanks at the fair with many of the ones to be dunked looking quite disgruntled and serious with the appearances; him and Sibella decided to go to the nearest one and was surprised to read that this one was to dunk the town's treasurer. "An idea put forth for by our illustrious Mayor Samson; giving the fair goers a chance to dunk the town's officials to show that the ones running the town have their fun side and are not stiffs... I have a full statement if you want to hear..." the one hosting this particular booth said and brought up a printed statement and then there was an angry mutter from the treasurer.
"Every year Samson makes us do this; do you know how long it takes me to warm up again when I get home? Plus I was busy and I have work needing to do but does Samson ever listen..." grunted the treasurer and Lincoln was holding back a laugh and Sibella was smiling amused at the whole display as well.
"You don't hear the sheriff complaining so suck it up!" yelled the proprietor of the stand up to the treasurer and then handed Lincoln and Sibella balls to try their falls. Lincoln had many misses but managed to hit the target at the last throw and then Sibella was much more successful in dunking the treasurer with her throws.
They walked away laughing while holding their soft toy prizes; "Just wow... I kind of wish we had Samsom running Royal Woods back home." laughed Lincoln and saw the taller vampire girl smile down at him with him feeling nervous.
"Seeing what he gets the officials to take part in is a highlight every year and from what I can tell; he isn't bad at the job at all. Never heard any complaints from Ms Grimwood at least when she hears about a press conference from him." Sibella replied and as they were walking to the music acts they ended up hearing "to love the earth is our only desire..."
The closest stand was the Hex Girls performing and they both decided to join in on the crowd; especially as Lincoln was dressed for it anyway as he had forgotten that he was wearing the Hex Girls jumper that the Grimwood girls had gotten for him.
"You know reading about our coaches' adventure in Oakhaven and then seeing the Autumn Fest videos with them performing with the gang ang seeing the giant turkey was how I found out about them." Lincoln whispered to Sibella as Earth, Wind, Fire & Air was ending and they joined in the crowd in clapping for the band. Sibella smiled at the reminder of her beloved coaches connection to her favourite band from before they were famous.
The Hex Girls soon ended up starting their signature song Hex Girl, and to their surprise they started inviting fans up on the stage and that ended up including Sibella. Sibella grinned as Lincoln was cheering her on to encourage her as she started to sing along; Lincoln ended up becoming nervous as she started looking towards him and pointing towards him when singing about casting a spell at someone along with a wink.
Soon the song was done and Lincoln looked on in awe at Sibella as she was grinning at him which was making him nervous. His legs ended up making him run away and Sibella gritted her fangs and muttered "this boy is going to drive me batty..."
Lincoln had managed to catch glimpses of the other Grimwood students with Elsa trying out a test of strength hammer stand, Phantasma sounded like she was having the time of her life at the ghost train where there were screams from the other passengers and Winnie and Tanis were having meals at the food stand where there was a screaming worker telling Shaggy & Scooby "Mayor Samson was extremely clear about the limit, especially in regards to you two! He said in no uncertain terms that there was not to be a repeat of last year..."
Lincoln managed to crack a smile at this and then noticed that even the Calloway Cadets were out and about; "Hey kid." said a voice and Lincoln jumped and looked behind him stunned to see Thorn the lead singer of the Hex Girls there. "Having a break at the moment and I had seen you run off after your friend sing towards you; scared off by a pretty girl are you?" Thorn asked amused and Lincoln managed to shake off his stupor at having a famous singer go to talk to him on her break.
Lincoln managed to sigh and said "just that... Sibella has been given me signals that she might like me... I am scared that I will just mess up as I see no other explanations for how she was acting... I just want to figure it out why she is acting like this instead..." Lincoln then saw Thorn slap her forehead as if reacting to his denseness.
"Lincoln; isn't it?" asked a voice and Lincoln looked behind him and was shocked to see Mick Swagger there. "Recognised you when I saw the Hex Girls crowds before waiting for my song; his sister is my biggest fan." Mick explained to Thorn who took it in. "Why must you be mistaken?" Mick asked as Lincoln scoffed.
"Because Sibella is cool and pretty while me and romance never worked out; I embarrassed myself in front of a previous crush once to make it up to my sisters, I got punched by a bully I kissed thanks to advice from my sisters and my friends and I were very much mistaken by thinking that our latest friend Stella was romantically interested in one of us! I'm a schemer who most of the time gets way over my head just makes things worse; why would she see anything in me?" Lincoln replied shaking his head.
"How about that you're a well meaning sweet and funny guy." said a voice and Lincoln froze as he turned to see Sibella standing behind him with a somewhat relieved smirk with the two singers leaving them to sort this out as Lincoln was screaming in his head. "I have tried to be subtle ever since I realised this and I thought that you were being dense; I guess that denial was a factor." Sibella stated as Lincoln struggled to form a response.
"Sibella... How about you give me time to think about it please? Like if we go on a ride together?" Lincoln asked finding a tunnel ride nearby and Sibella nodded accepting it as Lincoln led them to the ride's line. "Wait..." Lincoln muttered to himself as he finally noticed some heart decorations and groaned realising what ride this was as the staff helped them onto the ride.
Thanks to the 1 who commented on the dig at Velma I couldn't resist in putting in last chapter. To think that even after that first trailer doing a less than stellar meta joke (seen other stuff that does this type of jokes much better); I thought that there was still a chance that the show could turn out not so bad despite the violence and it looking like it would be like an animated Scream movie. Uh to be so naive... Plus last chapter the abused servant to the monster with Dracula and Renfield; I thought that dynamic could be like YouTube horror critic Doctor Wolfula and his zombie servant Ghoulash (both played by the guy that runs the channel) only instead of a vampire and a human, it's a wolfula and a zombie who gets tortured a lot physically. Plus I suggest to check out the channel's review of the Velma show as it's the most open minded and best review of the show that you will find.
