A/N: In honor of Korra's 10th Anniversary, here is a 5 CHAPTER UPLOAD to finish season 2. Read Ch. 18 first! IDK why, but I was thinking it was next month in May.
Remember to keep voting in the poll that'll go down on Ninja in the web's next update. And if Naruto should learn flying/lavabending, just one, or neither, so far learning both is in the lead but only gotten several PM's/reviews for it I'll stop counting the votes after uploading the first chapter for s3 Change.
Also, forgot to ask those on AO3 about Naruto learning so I'll be using the game's story that takes place between s2 and s3 to allow any over there to give out a vote.

Spirits
Chapter X
Light In The Dark.
After fusing with Vaatu, Unalaq became a Dark Avatar, and Kurama and the other Bijū fight the new Unavaatu who gained power during Harmonic Convergence to give Korra time to gather her strength. Tenzin managed to free Jinora from the Fog of Lost Souls, but her spiritual quest isn't over yet. Can Korra and Naruto save the world from eternal darkness?
Republic City.
"General lroh, are your ships in position?"
Iroh, who was looking at the colors in the sky, looked down as he heard Raiko over the radio on his ship. He reached for the microphone as he and others were docked in the harbor forming a line. "Yes, Mr. President, but I need to know what kind of enemy we're dealing with."
Suddenly, the sky lights up and Unavaatu plunges into the sea. The wave he creates pushes back one of the battleships while he stood to full height. "It's time to take back the physical world." He said in a deep booming voice before walking towards Aang's statue.
"Fire!"
The United Forces firebenders attack Unavaatu with large fire blasts, but Unavaatu continues walking, unharmed. He retaliates by waterbending a wall to stop the blasts, before sending the wave toward the battleships, scattering them. He subsequently walks up to Avatar Aang Memorial Island. Unavaatu wraps his tendrils around the statue of Aang, before bringing it to the sea, having it slowly sink into the water.
Unavaatu grinned before the sky lit up again before Kurama and the others dropped down and growled at him.
Spirit World.
Naruto saw Tenzin and his siblings running to them as Korra healed some wounds on her arm by the river beside the Tree of Time. "They're over here!"
"Did you find Jinora?" Korra asked while rubbing her elbow.
"I was able to rescue her soul, but she wasn't ready to return to her body yet. She sensed the world was in grave danger."
"She was right." She sighed out before standing and walked to a boulder before sitting down.
"Were you able to stop Unalaq and Vaatu?
"No, they fused," Naruto explained, crossing his arms. "I got friends fighting him now when Vaatu changed to give Korra time to heal.
She needs you now, more than ever.
Republic City.
Kurama wrapped his tails around Unavaatu's arms before the spirit spun, sending him spinning into his siblings. Unavaatu then had a purpler mean shoot out hitting one of the airships and having its tail end explode. "It's going to destroy the entire city," Raiko said, looking out at the spirit in the bay from the ship.
"We're going down," Lin yelled, opening the door and having her men swing out with their wires before jumping out with the president.
Landing on a roof, the two looked to see Unavaatu jump over Matatabi and place his hands in the water, and had vines come up.
Over in the Task Force HQ, Varrick was doing stretches as he listened to the radio while Zhu Li read a paper. "It's pandemonium in the streets. Giant vines are destroying everything. This is Shiro Shinobi signing off-"
Crack!
Vines came through the wall destroying the radio just as Varrick reached for his feet while the vines went around him. Blinking, he straightened up before he walks up to the hole and puts on a pair of goggles. "Zhu Li, commence operation 'Winged Freedom'!" Zhu Li ties a backpack to herself before running over and latching onto Varrick's back. She tightens the clasp around Varrick's waist before the duo leaps off the cell and falls. "Do the thing!"
She pulled a handle having a glider pop out and had them glide on a gust of wind outside the city.
Spirit World.
"I know I haven't been the best mentor to you."
Tenzin said to Korra who was still sitting on the boulder. "But I realized it was because I had a lot of spiritual growth to do myself. There may still be a way for you to stop Vaatu.
"How?" She asked as he walked to the tree, having her and Naruto follow.
"Let go of your attachment to who you think you are and connect with your inner spirit."
"I've talked to Raava."
"I'm not talking about Raava," Tenzin spoke as they walked in the tree. "Raava is not who you are."
"Why are you showing me Vaatu's prison?" She asked before 'windows' of Korra's past and other Avatar's came up.
Naruto saw him meeting Korra for the first time before seeing him and Korra fight, Amon. He then saw her meeting Asami before seeing the city being attacked. "Shit, he's made it to the city, and he's giant!"
"This tree had a history long before it held Vaatu. This is the Tree of Time, and the legends say that its roots bind the spirit and physical worlds together." Tenzin explained looking at the moments in the portals.
"And you think this tree can help me somehow?" Korra asked, looking at Tenzin. "Yes, I have read that long ago, the ancients would meditate beneath this tree and connect with the great cosmic energy of the universe."
Korra then looked around and saw herself growing up. "These are my memories."
"The Tree of Time remembers all. Korra, the most powerful thing about you is not the spirit of Raava, but your own inner spirit. You have always been strong, unyielding, and fearless." Tenzin explained before a large portal showed a young Wan.
"Avatar Wan."
"Before he fused with Raava, Wan was just a regular person," Tenzin explained, showing Wan stealing food for not only his friends but for animals and spirits as well.
"But he was brave and smart and always wanted to defend the helpless." Korra said, having the airbender nod.
"That's right. He became a legend because of who he was, not what he was. He wasn't defined by Raava any more than you are." He said before they saw the city being attacked as the Bijū held Unavaatu back.
"Everyone in Republic City is in danger."
"You have to help them, Korra."
"How? They're halfway around the world and he's gigantic!"
"Do as the ancients once did. Connect to the cosmic energy of the universe. Don't bend the elements, but the energy within yourself."
"You really think I can do this?" Korra asked, having Tenzin nod.
"I have no doubt."
She then hugged him. "Thank you for not giving up on me."
"I'm proud of you."
"Aww, cute."
Korra turned to glare at her boyfriend only to let out an uncharacteristic squeak as he wasn't looking at the hug, but a memory of her as a baby getting a bath in the sink. Naruto and Tenzin then left as Korra got in a meditative pose.
(Mindscape.)
Korra woke to see she was standing on astral lights. She then turned, and saw a large projection of herself, holding a ball of light. She then took a breath before walking toward the ball of light.
(Real World.)
The others saw a bright blue light shine from the hole before a large blue projection of Korra exits her body and the Tree of Time. Korra's projection looks up at the bridge of the portals and reaches out to the overlapping portals and is sucked through, disappearing through the base of the portal.
"Uh… What did you say to her, exactly?" Bolin asked after a moment.
Naruto turned and saw what looked like a dark cloud coming toward them. "Looks like we're going to have company."
Republic City.
A blue light coursing through the sky. The light intensifies into a bright ball and slams into Unavaatu, knocking him back, ricocheting over the water's surface. Korra's projection stands up as she stares at the dark Avatar. Pema, Ikki, and Meelo are looking on in surprise.
Unavaatu gets up as Korra jumps over and slams into him while the Bijū holds him down. Unavaatu fires another energy beam at Korra, knocking her unconscious. Kurama then wrapped his tails around Unavaatu's arms as Matatabi picked Korra up just as she was waking when a gold light blinds them all before Jinora's spirit floated down holding with her a small ball of light. She opens her palms, releasing the light, which illuminates Republic City.
Unavaatu broke his arms free to cover his eyes before Korra started to use the purification on him, having the spirit glow gold. "NO!"
He then disappears in golden light as Korra bows where he stood. "Go in peace."
"Harmonic Convergence is almost over, Korra… We should return and help out the others." She heard Raava in her mind before disappearing into the sky as well
Earlier, Spirit World.
"They're coming for Korra."
The group starts attacking the dark spirits to keep them away from the tree. Naruto shot fire before switching to throwing chunks of earth before a water whip hits one that tried attacking Bolin.
"Leave my Bolin alone!" Eska said as she and her brother had water whips ready.
"I am so done with spirits."
Bolin then slides up to his ex. "Eska! I love you! Let's face the end of the world together!" He said before kissing her on the cheek.
"You're so romantic."
They continued to fight only to be forced to retreat into the hollow of the tree. The spirits soon swarm the hollow, darkening the interior. Just as the light inside went out, a beam of light descended from the center, illuminating the Tree of Time and dissipating the dark spirits, and sending a shock wave out as Korra's projection returned. She opens her palms, releasing Jinora, who glides to her father.
"I'll see you soon, Dad."
Naruto saw the portals disconnect before Korra walked up to the others with a white Raava symbol on her chest as Naruto looked at her. "You were amazing." He said holding her hand in his. "And the symbol appears on your chest too? I guess Hamura really did help this universe." He said before leaning in to kiss her.
Only for Bolin to get between them for a hug. "And the way you turned all gigantic like that, wow! I just wish Varrick had been here to film it. It would have been the greatest movie ever. After "The Nuktuk Chronicles," of course." He rambled before Korra walked up to her cousins.
"I'm sorry about your father, but he was already fused with Vaatu. I couldn't save him."
The twins just looked at each other before Eska spoke. "It seems cousin Korra is under the impression we are saddened by our father's demise.
"But I will not miss him at all. In the end, he became a deplorable man."
Eska nodded at her brother. "Agreed. But how will we explain this to our mother?" She asked before Bolin ran over to them.
"So I was thinking, I'm not really a fan of the long-distance relationship thing. So how about you move to Republic City with me?"
"I do not think that will be possible." She replied, having him sigh.
"Okay, Desna can come too."
"I will not be joining you, Bolin. Desna and I must return home." Eska explained having him blink.
"But you said-!"
"Eternal darkness was upon us. I became caught up in the moment."
"Yeah. I guess I did too." He sighed out looking down.
"But… You will always hold a special place in the organ that pumps my blood." She said walking up to Bolin and placed a hand on her chest. "I will remember you fondly, my turtle-duck."
"Bum-Ju, you're okay!"
Naruto turned to see the blue dragonfly rabbit spirit fly to Bumi. "I missed you, little buddy."
"Why don't you close the portals and we'll go home," Tenzin said to Korra as they walked to one of them with Naruto following.
She put a hand to it only to reel back. "Maybe I shouldn't."
"What do you mean?"
"What if Unalaq was right when he said the Avatar shouldn't be a bridge between the two worlds? What if Avatar Wan made a mistake when he closed the portals? What if humans and spirits weren't meant to live apart?" She said as Naruto walked up.
"Maybe they needed to at the start as from what you told me, humans tried taking over the homes they had in the real world."
"Well, what do you think I should do?" She asked the two
"I think you should trust your instincts. There is nothing else I can teach you. You are the Avatar. Whatever your decision, I support you."
"And I say go with your gut," Naruto said as she looked at the portal before turning to walk back.
The South Pole.
Korra stood at a podium at the palace speaking to her countrymen with Naruto, Asami, and her parents behind her. "The War of the Water Tribes is over. Unalaq has been defeated and the Northern fleet is returning home. The Water Tribes will always be allies, but the Southern Tribe is now independent. And the Southern Council of Elders has appointed my father, Tonraq, to be your new chief."
She motioned at Tonraq who walked up with a wave to the cheering crowd. "I've realized that even though we should learn from those who came before us, we must also forge our own path. So that is why I've decided to keep the portals open. Humans can now physically enter the spirit world and spirits will be free to roam our world. The Avatar will no longer be the bridge. Humans and spirits must learn to live together."
"My mission will always be to use Raava's light spirit to guide the world toward peace and balance. Harmonic convergence has caused a shift in the planet's energy. I can feel it. Things will never be the same again. We are entering a new age." She finished before walking to her lovers
She then kissed Naruto and after a moment he pulled back. He then kissed Asami before pulling back and had the two women kiss.
