Husk sighed as he flopped down in his little chair behind the bar as Angel sat down at his usual barstool, pulling out his phone and checking his messages and voicemails as he contemplated which drink he'd ask Husk to make him. Just before he could start playing his most recent voicemails, he heard Husk let out a soft moan; he knew that moan very well, and Angel didn't like hearing it. "Husk, are you alright?" Angel asked, "Are you feeling okay?"

"Huh? Uh, yeah, I'm fine, Angel." Husk groaned, "I'm just… exhausted. And what's worse is that I've got so much shit to do tomorrow! Vaggie's flight practice, running an errand for Alastor, running a couple other errands for myself, my appointment at the damn clinic," "Clinic?" Angel asked, "What clinic? You mean like… you've got a doctor's appointment or something?"

"Yeah, kind of." Husk nodded, "I'm getting really low on my prescription, so I've got to go to my doctor's place and beg him for more of my, uh… medicine." Husk moaned as he reached up and rubbed his face, reaching up to remove his hat and run his claws through his hair and said, "Guess now was as good a time as any for it to happen. I'm overdue for a physical anyway. So, I'll get to enjoy the always, totally fun experience that is the 'turn and cough' and having a guy stick a finger up my ass. Ah… the joys of being an old fuck."

"Ouch." Angel flinched, "You gonna need someone to come with you?" Husk chuckled and shook his head, pulling out his flask and taking a quick sip before saying, "No, I'll be okay. Honestly, it's probably better if I go alone. It's just a lot easier for me that way, and… well, it just makes things way less uncomfortable."

Husk took another swig from his flask before tucking it away and walking over to the counter and leaning over it, saying, "So, what'll it be? The usual, or… are you feeling a bit… adventurous tonight?" Angel chuckled at that, nodding as he stood up and leaned over to give Husk a peck on the cheek, saying, "How about you surprise me tonight? Make it big enough for us to share." Husk's face perked up and nodded excitedly, saying with a chuckle, "Alright. Coming right up."

Husk groaned as he walked down the sidewalk and looked at the door of the clinic, letting out a heavy sigh as he pushed through the door and walked up to the front desk. "Hey, um, I'm here for my physical and to refill my prescription. The appointment should be listed under the name 'Husker'." The clerk didn't bother looking up as she handed Husk a clipboard with some papers and a pen and said in between gnashing her chewing gum, "Fill out these forms and I'll let the doctor know you're here just as soon as you get 'em back to me."

Husk sighed, rolling his eyes as he took the clipboard and took a seat, grumbling a bit to himself as he did his best to quickly fill out the paperwork. He knew what he was in for, and he wasn't looking forward to it; he just wanted to get it over with and get his prescription refilled so he could move on with his day. Once he'd filled out all the necessary fields, he handed in the clipboard and sat back down to wait for the doctor to call him back.

It was an excruciatingly boring wait that lasted almost forty-five minutes. Husk did his best to stay occupied by scrolling through his messages, photos, and checking in with the few social media feeds he followed. As he waited, he noticed a strange sensation come over him, the kind one felt when they were being watched. Husk turned to see an older Envy Ring woman staring at him; she quickly turned away as Husk made eye-contact with her and muttered something quietly under her breath.

Husk just ignored her, rolling his eyes and shaking his head as he went back to skimming through his feeds. A small smile creeped across Husk's face as he saw a photo that Angel had posted on his private Sinstagram account; it was a cute selfie photo of him holding a chocolate popsicle and cuddling Fat Nuggets. Husk couldn't help but chuckle warmly as he scrolled down and saw the caption below, feeling a light blush emerge on his cheeks as he read it out in a soft whisper. "'Enjoying something sweet, hanging with my sweet boy and thinking sweet thoughts about my big daddy.' Aww… still not as sweet as you, Angie."

"Will you shut up, cat-boy! Goddamn, you're loud!" "Excuse me?" Husk asked, turning his attention back to the old woman, "The only one being loud around here is you. Do yourself a favor and mind your own damn business."

"You shouldn't even be here anyway," the woman said snobbishly, "Last I checked, sinners don't really have any health issues. None that require you wasting time and space at facilities like this."

"Well, regardless of what you think about sinners and our very real need for regular care, this clinic welcomes sinners as patients. So, the way I see it, you've got two options. You can either shut the fuck up and ignore me until I leave, which hopefully will be soon. Or, if my presence bothers you so much, you can schlep your ass down to the Sloth Ring and pay a stupid amount of money for a simple checkup at one of their overpriced hospitals or outpatient clinics." The old woman huffed, crossing her arms and looking away; Husk just shook his head as he turned back to his phone, doing his best to ignore the bitter old fish woman for the remainder of his wait.

"Husker," a voice called softly, "We're ready for you." Husk looked up and smiled as he saw a nurse standing by the door, waving him over with a smile on his face. Husk tucked his phone away and got up to run over; the cat demon yelped as he felt someone grip his tail hard and yank it back so harshly that it caused his lower back to spasm. Husk turned and saw the old woman holding his tail, scowling at him and the doctor as she huffed and said in a harsh voice, "Hold up, I was here first! Why are you calling him back? He doesn't even have anything wrong with him!"

"Ma'am, I'm just the nurse. I just call back whoever the doctors say is next on their roster. Plus, I can assure you that you and he aren't even being seen by the same doctor; you'll probably be called back in another fifteen minutes." "I have been waiting here for over an hour! My appointment was supposed to start twenty minutes ago. What the hell is taking so long? He doesn't even have anything wrong with him, why is he even here?"

Husk's face scrunched up into a scowl as a low growl rose up from his chest; he slapped the woman's hand away and turned to face her. The fish woman gasped and let out a huff, jamming a finger in Husk's face and said, "Ugh! How dare you!" "Touch me again, bitch, and you'll need more than a clinic; you'll need a fucking hospital!" The woman was going to rebuttal, until she saw the rage in Husk's glowing golden eyes, making her shrink in fear and slink away. "Yeah, you'd better sit down." Husk whispered, clearing his throat as he turned back to the nurse and said, "So, uh… shall we?"
