Here we go! Chapter 2! I also realize I have not made Jayfeather as much of a smartass or as grumpy as he is in the actual series. It didn't hit me until now. But since Hollyleaf is back in his life; so he is happier than usual, it might be hard to make him the smartass he truly is. But, I will try.
Chapter 2: Fireheart Learns About the Chant Again
Mistystar looked Fireheart over and Jayfeather mewed, "Well. I can't explain why he is on fire without making it obvious why he can do that. Damn. Guess Starclan's rubbing off on me. Shit, that's not good." Fireheart looked at the two and extinguished the flames on his pelt. Fireheart thought to himself, 'When the hell did that happen?! I know damn well I extinguished the flames after I talked to Heathertail!' Fireheart took a deep breath and nearly collapsed from exhaustion, but Mistystar caught him before he fell. Mistystar mewed sweetly, "Silly Tomcat. You should head back to Thunderclan and rest."
Fireheart looked at her and said seriously, "No. I need to hunt for Thunderclan. I told Bramblestar that I would hunt for the clan after I finished talking to Heathertail. I have gone for long periods of time without rest or sleep before, even when I was exhausted. I can do it again. I can rest when I have joined Starclan." Mistystar looked at him and gasped as a memory hit her.
Mistystar's Memory:
Mistystar was watching Fireheart work on expanding all the dens in the Thunderclan camp by himself. Fireheart had now been awake for two days and nights without sleep or without taking a break, except to rarely eat. Mistystar walked over and mewed, "Let me help, Fireheart. Please. Or at least go get some sleep. You can't do this forever, Love." Fireheart looked at her and replied seriously, "You'd be surprised what willpower can do. I can do this. After all, most of the Thunderclan kits who are born, will most likely be mine. I can rest when I have joined Starclan." Mistystar replied, "Don't forget that some Riverclan kits will be yours as well."
Heathertail had walked over and said, "Some Windclan kits will be yours as well. We can help, Fire. Don't be a mousebrain. This is one hell of a task for any one cat to do alone, including you." Fireheart chuckled lightly and mewed, "You both are right. I will be the father of some Riverclan and Windclan kits eventually. My bad. Forgive my stupidity. But this is a task I must do alone. I will be fine. I promise." Mistystar and Heathertail mewed in unison, "Alright. Just this once." Fireheart purred.
Back in the Present Time:
Mistystar realized someone was holding her. She looked over and saw concern in a pair of emerald-green eyes. Mistystar lightly blushed as she realized Fireheart was the one holding her now even though she had just caught him from collapsing moments ago. He asked, clearly worried, "You okay, Mistystar?" Mistystar answered, "Y-Yeah. Just had a weird flashback to a latent memory of you expanding the Warriors' Den, the Nursery, the Apprentices' Den, and the Elders' Den for Thunderclan to make a bunch of room for potential kits. For some reason, I called you Love. And Heathertail was there too. We also talked about you being the father of both Riverclan and Windclan kits for some reason." Fireheart looked shocked and said, "Remember anything else?" Mistystar replied, "You said that you can rest when you have joined Starclan. I think you saying those words just now, resulted in me remembering that latent memory. And you agreed with both Heathertail and myself that we were right that you'd be the father of some Riverclan and Windclan kits." Fireheart remembered the memory Mistystar had just remembered.
Fireheart looked at Jayfeather. Jayfeather said, "Well. I can not prove nor deny that the memory you just remembered, Mistystar, is completely true. The question is, what do you think of the memory? Could it be true? Or not?" Mistystar replied without hesitation, "It did feel like a part of my past that I've forgotten. But how could it be true? It's against the Warrior Code to have a mate, much less, multiple mates that are a part of the clans, outside of your clan." Fireheart replied, "True. It is. What about that Deja Vu you felt earlier? Could that have something to do with that memory?"
Mistystar blushed lightly as she remembered the Deja Vu and she said, "It might be. Because the Deja Vu was about us taking a walk after you gave an announcement about joining Thunderclan and Riverclan into one clan." Jayfeather immediately looked at Fireheart and forced himself into Fireheart's mind and thought to him, 'She had Deja Vu about that?!" Fireheart replied mentally, 'We were in the area where she and I tasted one another.' Jayfeather mentally mewed in understanding.
Mistystar said, "I am fine now, Fireheart. You can let me go at any moment. Not that I mind. This feels weirdly natural. As if you used to hold me all the time." Fireheart blushed dark red as she said that. He felt a decent amount of strength and power flow through his body. Fireheart's pelt ignited in white flames and he immediately backed up before he accidentally burned Mistystar and Jayfeather. He heard someone's thoughts in his head. He recognized the voice.
Stripestar said in his head, 'Are you finally back, Firestar?! I was so worried that you somehow died!' Fireheart replied mentally, 'I have always been here. I have just been too weak to talk to you and do not call me Firestar until I am back to full strength. Call me Fireheart for the time being.' Stripestar replied mentally, 'You really lost almost all of your power and strength by messing with History. God you're a Dumbass.' Fireheart laughed out loud. Jayfeather and Mistystar looked at him like he was crazy. Fireheart felt embarrassed and summoned Stripestar. Stripestar took his spirit form next to Fireheart. Mistystar looked at the spirit of Stripestar in disbelief. Stripestar said, "Sorry. I made Fireheart laugh. He isn't crazy. Let me rephrase that. He is crazy for what his stupid ass did, but that is all." Fireheart laughed more and said, "I missed you too, Stripestar." Stripestar shook his head and went back into Fireheart's soul.
Mistystar asked, "How long have you been able to talk to the first leader of Tigerclan?! And what did you do?!" Fireheart replied honestly, "It's complicated to explain that. And well. Let's just say I fixed the doings of the wrong." Mistystar said, "Alright. I won't pry. Also. You're on fire again." Fireheart extinguished the flames and expected to almost collapse again, but he felt fine for the most part. Fireheart was shocked but said, "We should get back to our clans. And I gotta hunt." Mistystar nodded in understanding and turned to walk back to Riverclan. Jayfeather said, "Remember what we talked about." Mistystar replied, "I wouldn't dream of forgetting it."
Jayfeather looked at Fireheart. After he was sure that Mistystar was out of earshot, he said, "Looks like you're regaining your power. Good." Fireheart nodded his agreement and Jayfeather said, "I will let you get back to it then. Try not to get into a fight however. Don't want to have to treat your injuries because your dumb ass decided to fight something to see how much of your power you have." Fireheart shook his head and said, "I am not a violent cat unless I have no choice. You know this." Jayfeather replied, "Maybe so. But you are the son of Lionblaze, who is as stubborn as they come. I can't tell you how many times I've had to try and get through his thick skull." Fireheart laughed quietly and said, "I suppose, that is a good reason to tell me not to fight someone. I am the son of Lionblaze after all." Jayfeather nodded and walked back to the Thunderclan camp.
Fireheart was about to start hunting, when the bushes in front of him parted. He saw Spottedleaf and said teasingly, "My my. Can't bear to not see me for long? We just talked this morning." Spottedleaf giggled quietly and said, "I came to say that you are making decent progress. At this rate, you will definitely be strong enough to fight off the first push of the approaching army." Fireheart got a thought and said, "Why don't we go pay Mothwing a visit? That way you can explain why Starclan allowed Hawkfrost to fool the clan cats with the fake moth wing sign. Since you can not tell her in a dream because she doesn't believe in Starclan because of that bastard. Might even restore her belief." Spottedleaf replied, "We could." Then she teased, "Or are you just trying to take me on a walk to try and win me over?"
Fireheart laughed quietly and said in a sarcastic but teasing tone, "Damn. You caught me." Spottedleaf laughed lightly and said, "We can do that later." Fireheart nodded and Spottedleaf vanished. Fireheart started to hunt.
Fireheart had managed to catch a decent amount of prey. He walked back to the Thunderclan camp with two mice, a squirrel, and a couple of rabbits that were on the Thunderclan side of the border. Fireheart carried his mouthful of fresh-kill to the fresh-kill pile. He left a rabbit in his mouth and walked to the Nursery.
Windstream greeted him, "Hello Dear. Is that rabbit for me?" Fireheart nodded and set it in front of her gently. Flowerkit was suckling and Fireheart purred as he looked at his daughter. Windstream mewed, "You seem to be in a much better mood than you usually are. Mind if I ask why, Dear?" Fireheart replied, "Mistystar is starting to remember me." Windstream exclaimed, "That's great!" Fireheart nodded and said, "And because of that, part of my strength and power has been restored. But I won't be able to safely fight the army approaching Riverclan on my own until she has remembered me completely, or fallen in love with me again." Windstream said, "Well. If you get in trouble, you could always use the Heavenly Cat Drive chant."
Fireheart asked, confused, "The what?" Windstream mewed, "You still haven't remembered what that is or the words." Fireheart said, "Bramblestar was telling me about a chant the day I came back from the past. But he said he won't tell me the chant unless it was a matter of life or death. Because if I am not strong enough to use it, it could kill me." Windstream thought for a moment and said, "That does make sense. But if you aren't strong enough to fight the army approaching Riverclan, you might have to use it. Have Bramblestar tell you it just in case. And do not use it unless you have to, or Starclan help me, I will go to Starclan myself in a dream, just to drag your ass back to the clans if you die from using it. I will not let you die." Fireheart purred quietly and said, "You should know. I can not die. I have too much to live for. I have Flowerkit, you, Honeypaw, Silverstream, Lionstar, Dovewing, Ivypool, Mistystar, Splashfur, and Heathertail to live for. Actually. I have every cat in the forest to live for. Because I will bring a time of complete peace for the clans, even if it kills me."
Windstream said strictly, "You are not allowed to die. Do I make myself clear, Fireheart?" Fireheart was shocked at her tone of voice but mewed, "Yes. You make yourself clear, Love." Windstream replied, "Good. Go and rest after having Bramblestar tell you the words to the Heavenly Cat Drive chant. Thank you for the rabbit. I love you, Fireheart." Fireheart nodded and replied after he licked Flowerkit's head with fatherly affection, "I love you too, Windstream."
Fireheart walked out of the Nursery and looked at the Leader's Den that Thunderclan built for him. Fireheart took a deep breath and noticed Silverstream and Honeypaw sharing tongues. They looked at him and he flicked his tail to the Leader's Den for him. They nodded in understanding and began walking towards it. Fireheart followed suit.
Fireheart walked in behind them after asking Bramblestar to keep others away from the den so they don't see him in it. Silverstream mewed with excitement, "Are we getting another turn of being filled by you, Master?" Fireheart blushed dark red and said, "Wait until you're both in heat. Then, we can have fun if you'd like." Silverstream sighed sadly and nodded in understanding. Honeypaw mewed to her quietly, "Just wait. Something tells me that we will go into heat at the same time. Let's see if he can handle both of us again." Silverstream giggled and nodded her agreement. Fireheart looked at both of them and chuckled lightly and said teasingly, "I was able to handle both of you as an apprentice. I am sure I can handle both of you as a Warrior. Even in my weakened state." Honeypaw and Silverstream said in unison, "We can't wait, Fireheart."
Fireheart said, "I already know that Bramblestar won't tell me the chant. But I remember telling you two a chant. Please, tell me what it is." Silverstream looked at Fireheart and mewed, "We will. If you make a couple of promises." Honeypaw nodded her agreement. Fireheart replied, "Almost anything." Honeypaw mewed, "We want you to promise that the instant we both go into heat, you will mate us and fill us up." Fireheart said, "I should've expected that one. I promise." Silverstream said, "And you must promise to never use it unless you absolutely have to, because if you are not strong enough to use all of your power without restriction, it will kill you." Fireheart replied, "Wait. It lets me use all of my power without any restrictions?" Honeypaw nodded and Fireheart continued, "That means I will be at my normal level of strength and power and then even more of it because I think I will eventually get more power and strength." Silverstream said, "Yes." Fireheart thought for a moment and said, "I promise to not use it unless I absolutely have to."
Honeypaw mewed, "Good. What do you remember of it?" Fireheart replied, "Only the beginning bit. I, who is about to awaken, am the Cat sent from Heaven to protect." Silverstream said, "To protect doesn't make sense where it is in the chant we are about to tell you. Don't use the to protect part until you find out more parts of the true chant. The chant goes, I, who is about to awaken, am the Cat sent from Heaven to defeat the Cat of Domination." Honeypaw said, "I protect the weak, and give the forest Hope." Silverstream continued from there, "I shall become the Heavenly Cat of Hope." Honeypaw continued from where Silverstream left off, "I shall bring you all from the depths of despair." Silverstream finished, "Heavenly Cat Drive." Honeypaw mewed, "That is the chant. It will put you in the Heavenly Drive, which is your most powerful power. Because it truly does let you use ALL of your power without restriction." Fireheart nodded in understanding and said, "Thank you both." Fireheart kissed both of them and they purred. Fireheart said, "Mistystar is starting to remember me." Silverstream exclaimed, "That's great!" Fireheart nodded and said, "So, I am regaining a bit of the power I lost from being forgotten by almost everyone. However, I am still in no shape to defend Riverclan against the Army. Not yet at least."
That night:
Fireheart woke up in the Leader's Den that Thunderclan built for him. He was confused and looked around. He saw Honeypaw and Silverstream sleeping in his mossbed with him. Fireheart had decided to go back to the location where he returned with Honeypaw and Silverstream to the present time after he saved Hollyleaf, after that, he was gonna get Spottedleaf to come with him to Riverclan. Fireheart muttered, "It might give me more clues to help restore that which was lost. I also need to remember the Heavenly Cat Drive chant just in case. But I don't think I will have to use it until I fight the army approaching Riverclan. Wait. Wait! That vision I got. What if the pushes on the clans will be different stages of attacks! Maybe only one group will attack Riverclan. Then two groups will attack Windclan. And so on and so forth. Pretty shitty and weak way to go about attacking the clans, but Tigerstar is not as intelligent as he thinks he is. Meaning, I don't need to be anywhere near full power until the final push against Thunderclan. I might be able to defend Riverclan in my current state, depending on what group will attack first. If it's badgers I am fucked in my current state. If it is dogs, I may lose a single life. But that would put me at seven lives left. Because I saved Hollyleaf's life, so she never gave me a life. I should try to protect all of my lives. Since I am not at my normal strength, I may not be immortal. I will need to go about it intelligently. I am sure I can fight an army of just cats easily. I've done it before."
Fireheart nodded at his plan and mewed quietly, "Alright. Time to go to that place." Fireheart walked out of his den and looked around to make sure no one was awake. Fireheart walked out of the Thunderclan camp quietly and padded to the middle of the forest.
Fireheart looked around and recognized this place. Fireheart looked around, looking for any clues he could find. Fireheart couldn't find anything and he sighed. He curled up after he made sure nothing was around that could take advantage of his unconscious state and began to sleep to find Spottedleaf.
In Starclan:
Fireheart opened his eyes and realized he was in Starclan. He looked down at his unconscious body. Fireheart muttered, "Alright. I am here. I will need to look down at my body every so often. Wait. I could've just had Stripestar come up to Starclan if he wanted to. It's too late now. I am here now." Fireheart looked around for any sign of cats from Starclan. He saw nothing. Fireheart muttered, "This isn't right. Fuck! What if the army found a way to attack Starclan?! That would make the vision I had meaningless! Unless the fifth moon doesn't signify Lionclan and instead signifies Starclan! But why would the moon be on fire? I absolutely refuse to lead Starclan!" Fireheart heard something behind him.
Fireheart whirled around, teeth bared as he ignited his pelt on fire. He stopped as he recognized Yellowfang. Fireheart immediately extinguished the fire on his pelt. The greyish-black she-cat said, "Don't you bare your teeth at me Fireheart." Fireheart replied, "Sorry. My bad. I was worried Starclan got attacked somehow and was prepared to fight." Yellowfang snorted and said, "Dumbass. Starclan can not get attacked. The only way to get to Starclan is from dying after being an honorable Warrior all your life and obeying the Warrior Code as best as you can, or by believing in Starclan and dreaming as Starclan sends a vision. I however do not understand how you managed to come to Starclan multiple times now without being sent a vision or without dying." Fireheart replied, "I need to find Spottedleaf so we can go to Riverclan and talk to Mothwing to show her that Starclan is real. We may even restore her hope if we do that."
Yellowfang mewed, "Why Spottedleaf? Why not a different Starclan cat?" Fireheart answered, "I feel like when I went back in time to save Hollyleaf's life and saved her as well as Spottedleaf, I did something. I do not know what I did." Yellowfang snorted and said, "You really don't remember that little bit. Amusing." Fireheart sighed and said, "Oh bite me." Yellowfang chuckled lightly and said, "I will not do that. You probably taste like mouse bile." Fireheart shook his head and said, "Says the one who looks like she has forgotten how to groom herself." Yellowfang laughed and said, "I like you. You remind me of Firestar and Cinderpelt. They too had witty comebacks. Especially Cinderpelt." Fireheart chuckled lightly and said, "Glad I could impress."
Yellowfang looked down at Fireheart's body and chuckled as she said, "Also. You don't need to find Spottedleaf. She's found you." Fireheart looked down at his unconscious body laying in the middle of the forest. He saw Spottedleaf sitting next to his unconscious body, keeping a keen eye out for trouble. Fireheart said, "Thanks Yellowfang." Yellowfang replied, "You're welcome. Now. Go away." Fireheart laughed lightly and forced himself to wake up.
Back in the Forest:
Fireheart opened his eyes and got up. He stretched. Fireheart looked over at Spottedleaf. Spottedleaf looked at him with a teasing nature and said, "I heard you were looking for me. Can't stand to not see me for a long time? We talked this sun-high." Fireheart chuckled and said, "I deserve that one. I wanted to find you and ask if you'd like to come talk to Mothwing with me. However, it is breaking the Warrior Code, since the clans are not combined." Spottedleaf mewed, "I already took care of that. That's why Yellowfang talked to you instead of me when you went to Starclan. I asked Willowshine to bring Mothwing to the Riverclan border. So we don't have to cross the border." Fireheart said, "Intelligent. But I guess I really shouldn't expect anything less than that." Spottedleaf said, "Thank you." Fireheart nodded and he walked towards the Riverclan border with Spottedleaf.
They arrived at the Riverclan border and sat down. Fireheart looked up and saw no moon. Fireheart muttered, "New Moon. Another week or maybe two and it will be time for the Gathering. This might be the first Gathering I go to on this new path of History I've made." Spottedleaf looked at Fireheart and asked, "What are you talking about so quietly?" Fireheart replied, "Well. Just wondering how this next Gathering will be. It might be the first Gathering I've gone to on this new path of History I've forged. It will be so weird going to it and not having the clans united as one." Spottedleaf replied, "It will be weird at first, but you've united the clans once before. You can do it again. I believe in you. As does all of Starclan. There is a reason why we chose you, Honeypaw, and Silverstream to receive the power of the stars. The darkness coming is too evil and powerful to be defeated by the first three. You, Honeypaw, and Silverstream will have the easiest time fighting it. Especially you since you inherited your father's powers for some reason and that combined with your own. That is why you're damn near immortal. The only thing that we know of that can truly kill you, is yourself. And apparently Tigerstar knows as well. That is why he tried to get you to kill yourself before you learned to control your power. None of us knew that you were also the Heavenly Cat of Hope. The only cat that knew was Rock. Not even Midnight knew you were the Heavenly Cat of Hope. Fireheart, use your power well. Do not let the Dark One corrupt you." Fireheart gasped as he remembered being told those words as a kit.
Fireheart had wondered who told him those words when he was a kit. He immediately asked, "Are you the one who told me to not let the Dark One corrupt me when I was a kit? I remember being told that as a kit." Spottedleaf mewed, "In the past before you saved me, no. I was gone by then. But in the new path of History you've created by saving Hollyleaf's and my own life, yes. Yes I am. I am the one who told you those words. I have always been watching you since you saved me. Just like I used to always watch over Firestar, because I loved him. I still love him, but Sandstorm did not okay Firestar and I mating and being together in Starclan. So, sadly, I can not be with Firestar. And no. I am not saying I watched over you because I loved you, Fireheart. Like I said before, I am interested in you, because when I look at you, I see Firestar, reborn. You are exactly like he was, but remember; I will not be easy to win over. You'll have to do more than save my life once."
Fireheart nodded in understanding and heard paw-steps approaching. He looked at the Riverclan border and saw Mothwing approaching with Willowshine. Mothwing looked at Fireheart and said, "Hello, Firestar." Mothwing rested her eyes on Spottedleaf and asked, "Who might this be? I do not recognize her. Another mate for your harem, Firestar?" Fireheart blushed lightly and said, "No. Not another mate for my harem. But, if that somehow happens, so be it. Besides. She deserves better. This is Spottedleaf. She is from Starclan." Mothwing's eyes went wide and she asked, "Oh really?" Spottedleaf replied, "Yes really, Mothwing. I am here to explain something to you." Mothwing's ears perked up and she said, "I'm listening."
Spottedleaf said, "You lost your faith in Starclan because you know Hawkfrost faked the moth wing sign. We in Starclan are sorry that we didn't stop him. But I will tell you this." Mothwing's ears stayed perked up and Spottedleaf continued, "We were always waiting for the right moment to send a sign. On the day that Hawkfrost faked the sign, we were actually going to send one, so we let it be instead of sending a sign. That is our mistake. We in Starclan are truly sorry. He beat us to it because he knew how much you wanted to be a medicine cat. We had to make sure you were the right cat, that is why it took so long for us to get ready to send a sign. Your skill with herbs is impressive. And the fact that you are the daughter of a rogue, and you started to believe in Starclan on your own, goes to prove you are the right cat for the job, even if your brother shattered your faith. I came here today because Firestar asked me too because he knew that I couldn't come to you in dreams to explain everything. If this restores your faith, glad I could help. If it doesn't, we in Starclan won't be mad and we will still welcome you when you pass away if you'd like. It has been a long time coming for you to find out the truth. Sorry I couldn't do it sooner." Mothwing looked directly at Fireheart and asked, "You set this meeting up Firestar. Why?" Fireheart replied, "Because. I wanted to show you that Starclan truly exists. And I wanted a member of Starclan to explain why Hawkfrost managed to fake the sign. If this restores your faith or not, you have the right to know regardless. You will still be an amazing medicine cat for Riverclan."
Mothwing replied slowly, "Thank you, Firestar. I do appreciate this. So that is why Hawkfrost managed to fake the sign without any trouble. Because Starclan messed up." Spottedleaf said, "We do mess up from time to time. No one is perfect."
Fireheart said, "Just like how the Warrior Code and Medicine Cat Code is far from perfect. Both Codes are flawed." Spottedleaf looked at Fireheart in disbelief and Fireheart continued, "Code One of the Warrior Code for example. Clan loyalty is important, but you can't help who you love. The heart wants what it wants. No one should have to be torn between two clans just because they love a cat from another clan. If something like that happens where a cat falls for a cat from another clan, they should be given immunity from fighting against that cat and/or their potential kits. And don't even get me started on the Medicine Cat Code! Code One is also flawed. Like I said before. The heart wants what it wants. A Medicine Cat should be able to have a mate and kits, but they would have to treat the entire clan as their own kits and put no one above anyone. Treat the most severe injuries first and work your way to the least severe ones. I think that is a fair compromise. But I also know that a cat would want to treat their own kits and such first. Of course they would want to! No one wants to lose their children. But they would have to push that aside or have their apprentice take care of the most severe injuries. Or I have an even better compromise! Teach a few Warriors basic Medicine Cat stuff like how to treat less severe injuries like a scratched pad or a cut on the body that isn't potentially fatal so the Medicine Cats aren't swamped after a battle and the Medicine Cats may be able to treat their kits first if others in the clan knew basic Medicine Cat Knowledge! Just really basic stuff! I've treated my own injuries from time to time because Honeypaw taught me basic stuff because she knows she can't always be there to treat my injuries or that others may need attention for their injuries before me! I can go on and on about the flaws of both Codes, but I will stop for now."
Spottedleaf, Mothwing, and Willowshine looked at Fireheart in disbelief and Fireheart asked, "What? Something on my face?" Willowshine mewed, "N-No. Nothing like that, Firestar. You just made a really good argument about the flaws in the Codes. Even if you only argued against one code for both, I am sure you have plenty of flaws to talk about in the Codes." Fireheart replied, "Damn right I do." Spottedleaf looked at Fireheart and asked, "Why did you specifically talk about both of the First Codes for both of the Codes?"
Fireheart replied, "Because. The first code for both the Warrior Code and the Medicine Cat Code is the most flawed. It really is the most flawed code. Even Code Thirteen of the Warrior Code is flawed ever so slightly. I was forced to make patrols and the announcement about expanding the dens for Thunderclan because Bramblestar told me to and that it was a direct order! I have not even had an apprentice for fuck's sake! I was able to do it easily because of my natural talent for Leadership, but come on!" Suddenly, Fireheart felt knowledge hit him. Fireheart muttered as his pelt erupted in a pure bright white aura, "I, who is about to Awaken, am the Cat sent from Heaven to protect the forest," Fireheart immediately looked at Mothwing as his pure bright white aura vanished. Mothwing looked at him back and asked, "Mind if I ask why you're looking at me?" Fireheart replied, "Someone's hope has been restored. And the only cat who fits that bill is you." Mothwing replied, "So what? Doesn't mean it's me."
Fireheart said, "Yes. Yes it does. Because if a cat's hope is restored by me, a new part of the True Heavenly Cat Drive chant gets revealed to me." Spottedleaf looked at him and said, "You remembered the chant?" Fireheart shook his head no and replied, "No. I didn't. I had Honeypaw and Silverstream tell me about it because I knew Bramblestar wouldn't tell me about it. Honeypaw and Silverstream made me promise to never use it unless I absolutely have to, because if I am not strong enough to handle all of my power without restriction, it will kill me with no chance of my power of immortality from the Phoenix saving my life. So I still don't know what I said to save your life, Spottedleaf. But I do know that I did something besides saving your life and Hollyleaf's life that day. I think back to that day from time to time, and I remember very small bits and pieces of what I did to save you, but not enough to make it obvious, while the rest is just fuzzy. All I usually remember is an orb that changed colors." Spottedleaf said, "You are right. You did do something else besides save lives that day."
Fireheart looked at Spottedleaf and back at Mothwing and asked, "Did I restore your hope?" Mothwing looked back at him and said, "Yes. Yes, you have. You also somehow managed to restore my faith a little bit. But it will take time for me to get used to knowing that Starclan is real and to completely believe in Starclan." Fireheart mewed, "Understandable. Glad I could help."
Spottedleaf thought to herself, 'I-Is one of the reasons he has lost most of his power is because he used his own power combined with the power of hope to bring me back and to protect me from ever dying again? He even basically said his power of the Phoenix had been transferred to and shared with me that day! If that's true, he literally risked his life to save me! Especially if all of his power of the Phoenix was transferred to me! Meaning he can die! If that is the case, how in the world will I give that power completely back to him?! Or to even give him most of it back?! The Forest can not afford for Fireheart to die! Would I have to come back to the clans by using the power Fireheart gave me that day to restore Fireheart's power of a Phoenix which would result in me being fully alive again? That is an idea. I need to think about this long and hard. It would be nice to be a live cat again, but then Firestar might be upset, but he'd probably forgive me if I told him the reason and he did tell me he wants me to be happy, but I truly don't know who would make me happier. However, if I do not become a live cat, Fireheart might never regain his power of a Phoenix which would result in him dying eventually, which would leave the forest unprotected from the Darkness that will never stop approaching unless Fireheart manages to somehow get rid of it entirely. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! SOMEONE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT! I KNOW THE DECISION SHOULD BE AN EASY ONE, BUT IT ISN'T TO ME!' Spottedleaf took a deep breath and muttered to herself, "I will need to think about this. I need to make a decision before Fireheart fights the army approaching Riverclan. I have a bit under a moon to make my decision." Fireheart looked at Spottedleaf and asked worriedly, "You okay Spottedleaf?" Spottedleaf looked into his green gaze, his gaze making her feel warm, just like Firestar's gaze used to when she was alive. She felt herself calm down and she replied, "Yeah. Just doing some thinking." Fireheart asked, "Want to talk about it?"
Spottedleaf answered, "Not right now. Maybe later, Fireheart." Mothwing and Willowshine looked at Spottedleaf and they asked, "Why did you call him Fireheart instead of Firestar?" Spottedleaf replied, "Starclan recognizes that he is still a leader, but the star from his head is gone. He has asked Starclan to call him Fireheart until he regains the star. He probably won't get the star again until he completely reunites the clans back in Lionclan. Because at that point, the clan he is the Leader of would be complete again, making his star reappear. But there is an issue that we can not talk about because of the rules of the Leader Naming Ceremony." Fireheart said, "We can talk about it with them. Jayfeather, Honeypaw, Kestrelflight, Littlecloud, Mothwing, and Willowshine are the medicine cats of Lionclan. They all went to the Moonpool with me when I received my lives." Spottedleaf looked at Fireheart and nodded in understanding.
Spottedleaf said, "Hollyleaf gave Fireheart his fifth life, but since he saved her life in the fight against the Dark Forest, he never received his fifth life, meaning he only has eight lives until he can somehow regain his fifth life." Mothwing looked at them in disbelief and asked, "Can't he just go to the Moonpool and get his fifth life back or go through another Leader Naming Ceremony?" Spottedleaf said, "That might work, but it has a small chance to mess things up even more. That is a last resort, because Fireheart might somehow have seventeen lives at the end of it if he goes through another Leader Naming Ceremony." Fireheart thought for a moment and asked, "Couldn't Hopestar just give me another life and make it my last life and change the order I received my lives. Meaning my sixth life would become my fifth, my seventh life would become my sixth, and so on and so forth. Because if we do that, he will be able to do the coronation again." Spottedleaf thought for a moment and said, "Maybe. Starclan has never had to do something like that before. What would the words even be to change the order you received your lives in?" Fireheart mewed, "If Starclan can't figure it out, I am sure I can. I am intelligent after all. Maybe the Medicine Cats of Lionclan could help me figure it out."
Mothwing mewed, "Maybe we could." Fireheart looked up and noticed that night was nearing day. He mewed, "We should head back to our respective clans. It's nearing the morning." Willowshine and Mothwing mewed their agreement. They turned to leave. Fireheart watched them leave. Mothwing said over her shoulder, "Thank you again, Fireheart." Fireheart replied, "Happy to help."
After Mothwing and Willowshine were out of sight, Fireheart looked at Spottedleaf and expected her to leave as well, but Spottedleaf was deep in thought. Fireheart looked at her with his emerald-green gaze. Spottedleaf felt someone's gaze on her, yet she felt calm. She lightly blushed as she realized Fireheart was looking at her. Spottedleaf looked into his eyes and mewed, "Yes?" Fireheart replied, "Just wanted to make sure you were truly okay. I feel like you're feeling torn about something." Spottedleaf blushed more and said, "How perceptive. I am feeling torn about something." Fireheart said, "I won't pry, but I will give you a bit of advice. Follow your heart. It will never steer you wrong." Spottedleaf replied, "Thank you. I am gonna follow you around in my spirit form instead of my physical form for a while. I want to see how the clan life is going. Only you will be able to see and speak to me. As will Medicine Cats." Fireheart lightly blushed and said, "Alright. However, if I ask you not to follow me for some reason that I am not gonna say, please understand. You don't need to see that." Spottedleaf purred in amusement and said, "Alright, Fireheart." Spottedleaf went into her spirit form and walked with Fireheart back to Thunderclan.
There we go! A longer and slow chapter! Told you I was slowing the pace down. Don't worry. Fights and such will happen. Just gotta do some story telling instead of constant combat. May Starclan watch over you all!
