Here we go again. Let's go!

Chapter 12: The Second Push

Fireheart woke up the next morning in his den and stretched. He looked around and purred quietly. He exited his den and looked around. The rest of the Clan was going about their business. He heard Jayfeather call his name. Fireheart walked over to the Medicine Cat Den. Jayfeather met him outside.

Jayfeather looked at Fireheart with his blind gaze and said, "I was wondering when you'd show up. We need to talk. And I need to give you something." Fireheart nodded in understanding and walked into the Medicine Den with Jayfeather. Fireheart looked at Jayfeather and saw Jayfeather making a parcel. Fireheart asked, "What are you making?" Jayfeather said without looking back, "I am making something for you. I can basically smell how close to breaking you are. All it will take is one more bad thing and you will break." Fireheart watched Jayfeather whip up the parcel with prowess.

Once Jayfeather finished the parcel, he walked over towards Fireheart and dropped it in front of him. Fireheart sniffed the parcel and mewed, "The hell is in this?" Jayfeather replied, "Chamomile, Goatweed to help you deal with your grief, Lamb's ear to help you in the coming battle, Poppy Seeds, and Ragweed to also give you additional strength and energy. Eat it." Fireheart looked at it and bent down to eat it. Jayfeather mewed, "I can smell the amount of stress you have, Firestar. I can smell how close you are to breaking as I said a sentence ago. I had a vision. In the next battle, not this one, but the one to defend Shadowclan. You will break, and as a result, you will snap. Be sure to come back to us." Fireheart nodded his head and said, "I always come back. You know this." Jayfeather replied, "I know. But something about you snapping in the vision seemed different. It seemed almost… evil." Fireheart mewed, "Hold up. Won't the Poppy Seeds make me tired tomorrow during the battle?" Jayfeather shook his head and said, "It's to help you relax tonight, Dumbass. Poppy Seeds don't last that long. The Poppy Seeds in no way will affect you during the battle."

Fireheart asked, "Really? Did you see anything out of the ordinary?" Jayfeather answered, "I heard a cry of pain and then I saw you snap." Fireheart speedily asked, "Did you recognize the voice that cried in pain?!" Jayfeather shook his head and replied, "I am sorry Fireheart, I couldn't discern the voice." Fireheart replied, "No worries Jayfeather. Thank you for telling me this." Jayfeather nodded as Fireheart finished his parcel of Herbs.

Fireheart walked out of the Medicine Den and walked towards the Nursery. Windstream mewed, "Hey Love. Almost time for you to risk your life again. Glad you came to see us." Flowerkit leapt at her father and mewed, "Hey Dad." Fireheart chuckled as he rolled on the ground and said, "Hello Daughter." Squirrelflight said, "You ready, Firestar?" Flowerkit looked at her father; eyes wide, and asked, "You're a Leader?" Fireheart looked at his daughter and said softly, "Yes. I am the Leader of Lionclan, sweetie. Which is all of the clans combined into one." Flowerkit smiled and said, "Yay! My father will always be here for me!" Fireheart replied, somewhat somberly, "Yes. I will always be here." Flowerkit didn't notice the somberness in her father's voice; got off of her father, and walked over to her mother. Windstream and Squirrelflight looked at Fireheart with a knowing look.

Fireheart walked out of the Nursery and said, "Soon. Windstream will be able to fight alongside the other Warriors again. Flowerkit is three moons old now." Ragnar and Lothrik approached Fireheart and asked, "So. Why aren't we in either of the battle groups, Slayer?" Fireheart replied, "You both just got here. You sure you wanna fight for a clan that you just got into?" Ragnar flexed his front legs in anticipation and mewed, "I have been itching for a good fight. So count me in Fucker." Fireheart laughed lightly. Lothrik shook his head and mewed, "He is a Leader here. We should treat him with respect and where Ragnar goes, I go. So count me in too." Fireheart nodded in understanding and said, "Alright. Neither of you go dying on me now." Ragnar and Lothrik nodded their agreement.

Fireheart met with the two groups going to defend Windclan and said, "We need to send someone over to both clans. We are going to need all the help we can get. It's going to be cats and dogs this time around." Everyone's jaw dropped in shock and Cloudtail said, "Cats and dogs working together?! How can we compete with that?! How is that even possible?! Cats and dogs hate each other!" Fireheart replied calmly, "I understand the confusion. For cats and dogs have never worked together; until now. However, what I do not understand is the lack of hope! All of us have been through worse shit than this! And guess what?! WE CAME OUT UNSCATHED! WE CAME OUT STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! WHY?! BECAUSE WE ARE WARRIORS! AND WE ARE ALL MEMBERS OF LIONCLAN! LIONCLAN WILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS! AS WE ALWAYS DO! WHO'S WITH ME?!" All of the clan yowled in agreement, fired up from Fireheart's speech. Fireheart ordered, "Splashfur, go to Riverclan to alert Reedwhisker of the plans. Cloudtail, you will go to Windclan and alert Onestar of the plans. If Windclan would like to join the fight that is. They are still grieving after the loss of Ashfoot after all." Cloudtail and Splashfur nodded in understanding at Fireheart's orders.

The next day:

Fireheart woke up early to rouse the two groups to fight. Fireheart looked around and saw Spottedleaf, Splashfur, Slverstream, and Lionstar already awake sitting at the entrance to his den. He got up slowly, so as to let the She-Cats in his den, who weren't in either of the battle groups of Thunderclan; continue getting some much needed rest.

Fireheart walked out of his den, not expecting to see both groups already up and awaiting orders. Hollyleaf and Bramblestar were already at Highledge. Fireheart took a deep breath as he walked up to Highledge, Lionstar by his side. Bramblestar and Hollyleaf made room for Fireheart. Lionstar sat beside Bramblestar. Fireheart looked down at both groups and said just loud enough for them to hear, "Today's the day, Lionclan. For us to drive back another push from the vengeful bastard, Tigerstar. We will send him and his army back to the Place of No Stars! FOR THEY CAN'T HOPE TO WIN AGAINST HONORABLE WARRIORS! FOR FOLLOWING CODE MAKES US STRONGER! STARCLAN IS ON OUR SIDE AND THEY LEND US THE STRENGTH THAT WE DRAW ON TO WIN OUR BATTLES! LET'S ROLL OUT! GROUP ONE, ON ME! GROUP TWO, GO TO THE ROTATION POINT! IF SOMEONE SAYS LEAF WITHIN REASON, ESPECIALLY A LEADER! HEAD TO THE SECOND GROUP! WE WILL USE LEAF AS A CODE WORD TO GO GET TREATED!" Everyone hollered their agreement.

Near Windclan's Camp:

Fireheart looked around and breathed a sigh of relief as large fighting groups from both Windclan and Riverclan arrived. Reedwhisker and Onestar walked over to Fireheart. Fireheart flashed a smile and said, "Glad you were both able to make it. Onestar replied, "Of course. Losing Ashfoot did hurt all of the clan. She was a damn fine Deputy. But we can't let it prevent us from defending our clan." Reedwhisker said, "I couldn't have said it better myself." Fireheart nodded and looked towards the horizon; the rising sun making the battlefield look like a field of gold.

Fireheart took a whiff of the air and smelled the scent of Cats and Dogs combined. He motioned to all on the battlefield currently to follow close behind him. Lionblaze walked over to his son and said, "Just like old times eh, Firestar?" Fireheart nodded his agreement and walked towards the opposing army, his own army right on his heels.

As Fireheart and his army approached the opposing army, a yowl of battle erupted through the opposing army. Fireheart roared a powerful battlecry. All of the grass on the battlefield swayed from the force of the wind from Fireheart's roar. He ran at the foes.

Fireheart and Lionblaze leapt into the fray first. They attacked as one, becoming a cyclone of claws, blood flying every which way, staining the golden looking battlefield red. The battle had begun!

Lionblaze had left his son's side to fight elsewhere. Fireheart called upon Stripestar. He smirked as he felt his strength and agility increase tenfold. Lionstar leapt to Fireheart's side and Stripestar erupted from Fireheart's body, immediately taking a solid form. Lionstar and Stripestar both said, "Just like old times eh, Firestar?" Fireheart laughed as he dodged a claw swipe and said, "Damn right. Let's do it." The trio began an onslaught, moving as one, their time fighting together becoming more evident by the second.

Fireheart blocked a claw from a Tom and closed his paw as he leapt forwards. He swung hard as he could, landing a solid right hook on the large Golden Retriever in front of him. It skidded towards the left from the powerful strike, stunned for a moment as a cat had just punched it. Fireheart said in Twoleg, "Impressive that you were able to take that hit so well." The Golden Retriever looked shocked as a Fireheart spoke the language of its owners. Fireheart flashed a toothy grin and said in Twoleg, "Bring it Fido."

The Golden Retriever leapt at Fireheart and he jumped to the right. He heard something leap at him from behind and he whirled around; fast as lightning strikes; with a closed paw and sent the disheveled Tom flying into a group of Riverclan Warriors. Fireheart turned his attention back to the dog, a second too late. The dog had latched its jaws around Fireheart's body and began shaking him like he was a chew toy. Fireheart yowled in agony and ignited his claws with white flames and clawed the dog's eye. The dog immediately dropped him as it howled in pain. Fireheart landed harshly and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

He got to his paws shakily and forced his body to heal in a flash of fire. He stopped shaking and wiped the blood from his lips. The Golden Retriever growled as a way to intimidate Fireheart. Fireheart growled back loudly and the dog's tail went between its legs. It took off running the other way. Fireheart shook his head in disbelief and leapt into a group of Thunderclan Warriors.

Fireheart landed and immediately Cloudtail whirled around with a claw to defend himself and Seedpaw. Cloudtail recognized Fireheart and tried to stop his attack, but it was too late.

Fireheart blocked the claw with his front legs, a trickle of blood flowing down them. Cloudtail opened his mouth to apologize but Fireheart mewed swiftly, "Don't worry about it! We're in the middle of a clusterfuck! Anyone would've done the same! Focus on the battle at hand damn it!" Cloudtail nodded his understanding and returned to the task at hand.

Fireheart heard heavy footsteps fast approaching from behind. He whirled around as he ignited his pelt with white flames. He saw a large German Shepherd and hissed as he recognized King. King chuckled and said, "We meet once again, Firestar." Seedpaw asked, "Did that dog just speak fucking cat?" King turned his ginormous head towards Seedpaw and was about to say something when he caught a punch to the face. King turned his attention back towards Fireheart, killing intent through the roof. Fireheart hissed, "This is between you and I! Leave them out of it!" King growled, "Happily." Fireheart ordered as he saw multiple deep gashes across the bodies of both cats, "Cloudtail and Seedpaw, you both need to get the hell out of here I got this group and the dog." Cloudtail opened his mouth to argue when Fireheart mewed, "Leaf! That's a direct order!" Cloudtail grumbled, "You got it Firestar. Let's go Seedpaw." Seedpaw opened her mouth to argue when Fireheart mewed calmly, "You can return to the fight when you've been treated and rest a bit. I promise. This fight will last most of the day." Seedpaw nodded her understanding as Fireheart increased the size of the flames surrounding him enough to cause an opening from foes backing up, so Cloudtail and Seedpaw could get out safely.

Fireheart decreased the intensity and size of the flames surrounding his pelt and roared with all his might, "FOR LIONCLAN!" Fireheart closed the gap swiftly and tried to claw King's side. King dodged and swatted Fireheart to the side. Fireheart landed harshly and rolled to his feet. He growled loudly and took a deep breath as he readied himself for one hell of a fight.

With Bramblestar:

Bramblestar heard Fireheart roar, "FOR LIONCLAN!" and smirked. He nodded to Grayclaw and Lionstar as they became a flurry of claws, fighting both dogs and cats at once. Grayclaw leapt over Bramblestar and attacked a brown and white speckled tabby Tom. Scarlet blood sprayed the grass as Grayclaw slashed the Tom's flanks. The Tom hissed in pain and retaliated fast as a serpent. Grayclaw felt claws dig into his back. Bramblestar tackled the Tom off of Grayclaw's back and attacked the Tom with a flurry of claws. Scarlet littered the ground around the Tom as the Tom yowled in agony from Bramblestar's assault. Bramblestar kicked the Tom backwards into Lionstar. Lionstar growled and sunk her teeth deep into the scruff of the Tom and threw it away from her. The Tom yowled in pain. Grayclaw mewed, "Nice one Lionstar!" Lionstar nodded and leapt back into battle.

Bramblestar noticed several deep gouges on Lionstar; blood flowing freely; and said, "Leaf Lionstar!" Lionstar growled, "I am a Leader; same as you! I have my nine lives back thanks to Fireheart's aura that made me younger; which in turn brought me back to life! I can afford to lose one!" Bramblestar said calmly, "Maybe so. But think how devastated Fireheart would be knowing you lost a life and he wasn't here to prevent it!" Lionstar opened her mouth to argue, but decided against it and nodded in understanding. Lionstar began running towards the rendezvous point where the second group was waiting.

With Fireheart:

Fireheart ignited his claws with fire and leapt at King. King dodged and tried to retaliate, but Fireheart was prepared this time. He dodged under the bite and clawed King's neck. King growled in pain and tried to crush Fireheart under his weight. Fireheart jumped away just in time. King chuckled and said, "Still a slippery little bastard aren't you, Firestar." Fireheart attacked viciously, his paws becoming a flurry of fire. King, shocked by the sudden increase in speed of Fireheart's assault, proceeded to get struck multiple times; every wound caused by Fireheart's claws, immediately being cauterized from the white flames flowing from them.

King growled after Fireheart's assault and clawed Fireheart's flanks deeply. Fireheart winced in pain and leapt back, his wounds healing in a flash of fire. King chuckled and said, "I've been training non-stop to be able to take you down, Firestar! THIS IS THE END OF YOU!" Fireheart replied, "Training non-stop you say? Yet who is more injured?" As King snarled, a little saliva spewed from his mouth. As it reached Fireheart, it immediately evaporated. King leapt at Fireheart, doubling his efforts to kill him. Fireheart chuckled and muttered, "Yes. Get angry. Let your rage consume you so you don't think about your attacks. Make my job easy." Fireheart dodged a left claw and blocked with his right paw. He felt his right front leg snap and he bit his tongue to prevent from roaring in pain. He thought, pain making him forget about the mind channel. He thought, 'Holy fuck this hurts! Last time I broke a bone, it took a full night to heal! DAMN IT!' Spottedleaf immediately said in the mind channel, 'LEAF, FIREHEART! IF YOU'RE ABLE TO!' Fireheart replied back, 'I can't Spottedleaf!' Fireheart ducked under a leap from King and continued, 'It will take a little while before my leg heals to a point where I will be able to make my way to the group. I will have to stick it out until then! And don't even think about it Honeypaw!' Honeypaw replied, 'But…' Fireheart interrupted, 'But nothing! I have dealt with worse!' Fireheart dodged another attack and countered with a full force hook.

King looked shocked as the hook struck his face. As Fireheart's fist connected, King tried to plant his feet to prevent from being knocked away. It worked a little as his planted feet prevented him from getting sent flying, but didn't prevent his body from spinning one-hundred and eighty degrees from the force of the punch. Fireheart took the opportunity to leap onto King's back and push King to the ground without the use of his injured leg. He leapt off of King's back and landed harshly, hissing in frustration and pain. Fireheart tried putting pressure on his leg, only to hiss in pain once more. He took a deep breath and muttered, "Fuck it. Time to do this. I can not use my front right leg, I can barely even move it, but if I need to block, I will be royally fucked. I need to move like a Twoleg at least until my leg has healed! Starclan, lend me your strength."

King's jaw dropped as Fireheart got on his hind legs. Fireheart tried to take a step and barely succeeded. King took a deep breath and Fireheart chuckled. Fireheart's eyes flashed flame orange as he weaved around a claw and hit King with a powerful haymaker. He taunted, "Come on! I'm down a leg and still kicking your ass!" King, now truly infuriated from Fireheart's taunting, let his anger fuel his strikes, making them more powerful but much more obvious. Fireheart chuckled quietly, slipped around a strike, and countered with a hook. King hadn't planted his feet this time and got knocked into a bush. Fireheart touched his broken leg and moved it. He winced in pain and he muttered, "Not yet. I need to survive a bit longer!"

Fireheart slipped another strike only to get hit with another claw that sent him flying. Fireheart hissed in pain as he landed five feet away from his original position. King tried to jump on him and Fireheart rolled out of the way just in time. Fireheart got to his paws and winced in pain as he forced himself to stand on his hind legs again. King immediately leapt at Fireheart, Fireheart tried to sidestep the attack and succeeded. He was getting more comfortable with moving on his hind legs, slowly but surely.

King was about to leap at Fireheart when he was tackled by a silver blur. Fireheart exclaimed, "Silverstream!" Silverstream replied, "No time! I refuse to let you lose a life here! Are you able to walk?!" Silverstream dodged an attack and Fireheart tried going back down to four paws. He put pressure on his broken leg and winced, but was able to walk. Fireheart replied, "Yeah!" Silverstream mewed as she attacked King, "Good! THEN LEAF!" Fireheart ducked under a leap from King and retaliated with a flaming claw and mewed, "I can heal by myself! The broken leg is just an inconvenience!" Silverstream replied harshly, "I don't care! I will not let you lose a life here! I am sorry! BUT NO! LEAF!" Fireheart replied hastily as his pelt ignited in white flames, "Sorry Love. But this is my fight!"

Fireheart raised his voice, "I REFUSE TO LOSE HERE! I HAVE FAILED TO MANY TIMES! NEVER AGAIN! NEVER FUCKING AGAIN!" King chuckled and said, "Looks like you're fired up now." Fireheart growled deeply and hissed, "Enough of this shit!" Silverstream looked at Fireheart and realized he was putting full weight on his injured leg. King laughed and said, "Bring it, Firestar. Maybe killing you in front of one of your mates will get the message across." Fireheart hissed, trying to keep his cool, "In your dreams King, and what makes you say she is my mate?" Fireheart swiftly positioned himself between King and Silverstream. Fireheart mewed calmly, "Stay behind me. I refuse to die here. I am sure someone needs help more than me. Go. Please." Silverstream opened her mouth to argue but decided against it. She left without saying a word.

King chuckled and said, "Wise decision. Don't want one of your mates to see you begging for your pathetic life, and to answer your question, word spreads quickly Firestar. Remember when you defended Windclan as an apprentice? Word about your mates spread quickly. And who else would rush to your side to let you retreat?" Fireheart smirked and said, "Fair enough, and not quite. Now I can go all out." King's eyes widened and he said, "You don't mean that, do you?" Fireheart chuckled and said, "I wouldn't imagine using that against a foe as pathetic as you!" King growled deeply and tripled his efforts to kill Fireheart. Fireheart dodged and weaved through the attacks effortlessly. Fireheart blocked a strike and countered with a full force uppercut. King got knocked into the air a little bit and Fireheart began a flurry of blows. The group around them remembered that Fireheart was indeed their enemy and began a relentless assault. Fireheart had to focus solely on counter attacks to survive.

Fireheart took a deep breath and blocked a claw and kicked the cat off of him. Fireheart felt himself get pinned to the ground from the amount of weight that hit him all at once as the group jumped on top of him. Fireheart hissed, planted his feet, and mewed, "Not today. I am not ready to hunt with Starclan! NOT YET!" He leapt up, the pile of dogs and cats on top of him got knocked up from his jump and he used them all as a springboard. King couldn't spot Fireheart anywhere.

Fireheart looked down, barely able to see King and muttered, "Target acquired. This one is gonna fucking hurt like hell, but I gotta fight like Hell to survive as well. I must remember. Pain is just weakness coming out. Fuck it! Full send!" Fireheart put his paws to his side to increase his speed as he fell. The wind rushed by, burning Fireheart's eyes and Fireheart took a deep breath. He was getting closer to King and he braced for impact. He put his front legs out, claws extended; and prayed to Starclan for this to work and for their protection. He felt himself reach terminal velocity and muttered, "Just the initial impact might kill me. FUCK IT! I NEED TO DO THIS! FOR THE FOREST!"

King looked up, only to see a fiery blur approaching him at mach ten. He had no time to react and Fireheart went straight through King's flank. As Fireheart went through King's flank, he hit the ground harshly and rolled several times until he finally stopped. His pelt felt sticky and he felt entrails and viscera around his body. He was severely injured, unable to move. The fall had broken most of his bones. Fireheart's vision blurred, but he managed to shakily get to his paws, despite the many potential life threatening injuries. Fireheart brushed King's entrails off of himself, white hot pain shooting through his body with every simple movement. King said weakly; blood flowing like a slow moving stream from his mouth, gasping as his last breaths approached, "N-No. I-It shouldn't be possible for you to be able to beat in your current state!" Fireheart replied weakly, breathing heavily, "Believe it. I am known for making the impossible possible. Remember that when you arrive at the Place of No Stars, King." King's eyes lost the light in them as he finally succumbed to his grievous wounds. Fireheart looked at the approaching enemies and took a deep breath, trying to stabilize his breathing.

Fireheart felt all pain slowly begin to vanish as adrenaline kicked in. Fireheart breathed a sigh of relief and mewed, "BRING IT! I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!" Fireheart ignited his claws with flames and leapt into combat.

With Thunderclan's Second Group:

Spottedleaf and Jayfeather had just finished patching up Cloudtail and Seedpaw when Honeypaw arrived, breathing heavily signifying she had sprinted the entire way there. Honeypaw mewed between sharp intakes of breath, "Firestar is severely injured with a broken leg! He isn't able to come here for medical attention because he's fighting King!" Brightheart walked over to her mate and asked, "How was Firestar last you saw him?" Cloudtail replied, "He seemed fine. But we do gotta remember he isn't at one hundred percent yet." Spottedleaf mewed to Honeypaw, "I know he's hurting. Even with this distance between us, I can feel every single twinge of pain. Don't panic, but as of right now, most of his bones are broken." Everyone's, excluding Jayfeather and Spottedleaf, jaw dropped. Specklepelt asked, "How is he able to fight through all that pain?"

Jayfeather answered truthfully, "It's a fucking miracle he's even able to fight in his current state. But adrenaline is a hell of a thing. Combine that with strong sense of righteousness, the need for peace, him thinking he always needs to shoulder the weight of the world alone, a hope for things to eventually get better, and the fact that we need to win this war; you get one hell of a reason to never give up and keep going, no matter how life-threatening or non life-threatening the injury is. He will always, no matter the circumstance, come out on top. That's the kind of cat and Leader he is. Firestar himself is a miracle. And the forest needed a miracle." Jayfeather thought to himself, 'Things could've been much different. I know his past. Could've been anyone in the Twoleg world that got reincarnated. We got fucking lucky.'

Back with Fireheart:

Fireheart's pain had all but vanished. He flashed a toothy grin and mewed, "My turn." Fireheart became a blur of orange as he ran from foe to foe. By the time Fireheart had finished, the grass was scarlet red around him. Fireheart took a deep breath as he approached the final combatanet. He hissed, "Go tell Tigerstar what awaits him. A slow painful death by my paws. You saw what I did to King. Get the fuck out of here! Before I change my mind!" The terrier whined in fear, tail between its legs, and ran away. Fireheart mewed, "I gotta get over to the second group before my adrenaline fades, or I won't be able to make it! Double Time!" Fireheart took a deep breath and began sprinting towards the second group, the bushes and grass around him swaying from the force of the winds caused from his speed.

As Fireheart neared the second group he felt his adrenaline fade. He immediately stumbled to the ground. He winced in pain; gasping for breath, his wounds taking their toll on his body. He muttered, each word sending pain through his body, "N-No. Not like this. I refuse t-to lose a life here." Fireheart focused on controlling his breathing to hopefully get up and make it to the second group. His pain slowly became dull and he struggled to get onto his feet. He limped towards the rendezvous point.

With the secondary group:

Jayfeather heard bushes rustle around him and he said, just loud enough for everyone to hear, "Careful. We may have company, and not the friendly kind." Everyone prepared to fight as a flame colored tom caked in blood appeared. Everyone dropped their guard as Honeypaw and Spottedleaf bolted to Fireheart's side. Fireheart collapsed on the spot. Spottedleaf quickly examined his body, trying to decide which injury to treat first to prevent the loss of a life. Everyone in the second group looked on in shock, awe, and fear at the state of their leader. Cloudtail growled angrily and hissed, "I will kill every last one of those sons of bitches for what they did to him. Someone go tell Lionblaze. Are Seedpaw and I cleared for combat?" Jayfeather nodded and said, "Take Brightheart with you. We may need more medicine cats here. Someone go scout for Riverclan's and Windclan's second group. We will need all hands on deck here to save his life before he loses his first one."

As the group sent in Fireheart's absence left, they ran into a familiar face. Lionblaze looked at them and said, "Three? Who the hell came back?" Cloudtail mewed hastily, "Your son. He's badly injured." Lionblaze's heart dropped at those words. He asked, "H-How badly?" Cloudtail replied, "He may lose a life." Lionblaze took a deep breath and Brightheart mewed, "If we can get the other medicine cats over here from Windclan and Riverclan, he may still keep the life." Lionblaze nodded immediately and said, "I will go find them. I refuse to let my son lose his first life!"

Lionblaze took off like a bat out of hell and Cloudtail took a deep breath and mewed, "Alright team! For Firestar's sake! LET'S WIN THIS BATTLE FOR HIM!" Brightheart and Seedpaw yowled their agreement as they took off, eager to avenge Fireheart.

Spottedleaf mewed, "Alright. So. What I can sum up is that my suspicions were true. All of his bones are either broken or bruised. Must've taken one hell of a fall. A lot of internal bleeding as well. I don't know if we can fix internal bleeding quick enough! We will have to hope his powers heal his internal bleeding! We gotta take care of the rest!" Honeypaw and Jayfeather nodded their agreement and got to work.

After what felt like ages, they had finally done all they could to prevent Fireheart from losing a life. Jayfeather said, "It's in the paws of Starclan and Fireheart now. His willpower and resolve will be what is tested at this point. We can only hope for his safe return." Spottedleaf and Honeypaw prayed to Starclan for his safe return.

In Starclan:

Fireheart opened his eyes and looked around and realized he was in Starclan. He looked around at the cats surrounding him. Fireheart bowed his head in respect and asked, "Have I lost my first life finally?" Tallstar approached him and replied, "Not yet, but you just might this time, Firestar. You are not at full power. So death is a very high possibility." Fireheart replied, "I thought I was the only one able to kill me." Bluestar and Hopestar approached him. Bluestar mewed, "When you are at full power, yes. You are the only thing able to kill you." Hopestar continued from where Bluestar left off, "But since you aren't at full strength, the chances of you losing a life are significantly higher." Fireheart nodded in understanding.

Firestar walked over to Fireheart and mewed, "But there is hope. If you do lose a life, all of your injuries will be healed. If you do not, you still have all nine. But it will take a long time to fully heal. Especially at your current strength and with your wounds. At this point, the medicine cats have stabilized you. So your life isn't at risk nearly as bad as it was. The choice is yours, Firestar." Fireheart thought for a moment and decided what to do. Fireheart took a deep breath and made the decision. Just as he was ready to lose a life, he felt himself being drawn back to the Forest. Just as Fireheart began returning, he saw the faint outline that was slowly appearing of himself from losing a life, vanish; but as he began to get pulled back down, he felt someone connect to the mind channel as a surge of power flowed through him.

Back with the second group:

Fireheart gasped for breath as he opened his eyes. His entire body still hurt but he recognized the face of someone. He muttered, "D-Dovewing?" Dovewing replied, "Yes. It's me. I have decided to give you a second chance. Do not lie to me again. I have thought about everything since our last encounter, and I have agreed with you. You were trying to protect me. But don't go trying to take the easy way out anymore. I know you thought about losing a life to get back into the fight quickly." Spottedleaf said calmly, "Now now Dovewing. The clans need Fireheart in the fight to tip the odds in their favor." Dovewing hissed, "Bullshit! Lionblaze is out there too! And they share the same power!" Jayfeather replied calmly, "Lionblaze's power is nowhere near as strong as Fireheart's." Dovewing sighed and mewed, "I know. But I would prefer him to not get back into the fight so soon." Jayfeather opened his mouth to say something when the bushes around them rustled again.

When Fireheart heard the noise, he immediately tried to get to his paws to defend the group, but was pinned by Honeypaw and Spottedleaf. Fireheart argued, "With Dovewing offering a second chance, I am now at seventy-five percent of my power! Let me up!" Spottedleaf shook her head no and a lioness walked through the bushes. Lionstar's eyes trickled over the group and they stopped as soon as she saw Fireheart. She immediately rushed over and asked worriedly, "H-Has it happened?" Fireheart laughed weakly and mewed, "Hell no it hasn't. It'll take more than going straight through a large German Shepherd; flank to flank; at Mach Ten from about a mile in the sky. But we can all thank Dovewing for giving me a second chance, that's what pulled me back from the brink of death. A surge of power flowed through me that caused the faint outline of me in Starclan to vanish."

Dovewing mewed slowly, "From Thunderclan, I was listening to the fight. I instinctively listened to Fireheart's fight the most because I still have feelings for him. I wanted to make sure he was okay. I heard every single bone break that happened in the fight. I-I couldn't bear the thought of him losing a life so soon into his leadership. Just like Firestar did before him." Dovewing's eyes watered and she felt a tail brush her tears away gently. Dovewing looked at Fireheart and he flashed his best smile and said, "I have learned from Firestar's mistakes. Why do you think I suggested having two groups and not just me fighting the army?" Dovewing replied, "I know. But to lose a life so soon into your leadership would be terrible. You haven't even been a leader for twelve moons yet! It's been maybe six moons!"

Fireheart replied slowly, "I know. But I have the extra lives to spare. No one else does except Bramblestar and maybe Mistystar if my aura reversed her age enough to restore all her lives. I can't forget about Lionstar. I do believe Onestar is on his last. And Blackstar has no idea what's happening. Has anyone tried to contact Blackstar for help?" Lionstar replied, "Not as far as I know." Fireheart mewed, "Damn it! Can you two please get off of me now? I promise to recover for at least a little bit." Spottedleaf and Honeypaw looked at each other and sighed. Honeypaw mewed, "It's better than I thought we'd get. I expected you to push us off by now and go into combat." Fireheart laughed and said, "Nah. I need all my injuries to heal at least a little bit before I get back into combat." The entire group breathed a sigh of relief.

In the middle of the battleground:

Ragnar and Lothrik were fighting alongside each other, the grass around them stained red. Lothrik asked, "How do you think Slayer is handling this?" Ragnar replied as he dodged a claw and retaliated with a bite, "He's probably off fighting a small squadron by himself knowing him. He always pushed solo like a dumbass." Lothrik laughed and mewed, "You're probably right, sometimes he came out on top when he pushed solo, not frequently enough though." Ragnar chuckled and said, "He always is the confident one isn't he?" Lothrik sidestepped a claw and retaliated with a shoulder charge. Lothrik replied, "Indeed he is."

Ragnar and Lothrik battled together, many slain foes around them. A large golden lab approached them and growled. Ragnar looked at Lothrik and mewed, "Shall we?" Lothrik replied, "Plan D. Distract and attack." Ragnar flashed a toothy grin and charged towards the golden lab with his brother.

With Cloudtail and Seedpaw:

Cloudtail dodged under a leap and Seedpaw tackled the white and orange speckled tabby out of the air. Seedpaw pinned the tabby and clawed its stomach, not deep enough to kill. Cloudtail batted another cat away and said, "Nice takedown, Seedpaw!" Seedpaw purred at her mentor's compliment. Cloudtail ducked under a leap and gripped the she-cats hind legs with his claws and slammed her into the ground. She grunted in pain as the wind got knocked out of her.

Seedpaw leaped backwards to avoid a strike from a smaller dog. She landed poorly and fell as a result. She hissed in annoyance and Cloudtail leapt to her side. Cloudtail fought the dog back, giving Seedpaw time to get up. Seedpaw managed to get to her feet only to have to immediately dodge another attack. She leapt to the side to avoid the strike and retaliated with a closed paw. The dog was stunned for a moment and Seedpaw shook her paw as she hissed, "Stupid paw. Firestar makes it look so fucking easy." Cloudtail looked at her and asked as he ducked under an attack, "Did you just try to attack like Firestar does once in a while?" Seedpaw didn't reply and Cloudtail chuckled.

Back with the second group of Thunderclan:

Fireheart took a deep breath and sighed with relief as his body finally fully healed itself. He got to his paws and gave his body a shake. Jayfeather asked him, "Are you sure you're ready to go back out?" Fireheart nodded his agreement and Dovewing mewed, "I'm going to be accompanying you this time. If that's okay." Fireheart looked at her and mewed, "As long as you promise to stay safe, Dovewing. If I am about to die, let it happen. I have the extra lives to spare. You do not." Dovewing opened her mouth to argue but Fireheart said, "That's an order." Dovewing glared at him and hissed, "You're right. That fucking code is bullshit." Fireheart flashed a quick smile and said, "Why do you think I'd like to change the Warrior Code?" Dovewing replied, "Fair enough." Fireheart nodded and asked all the medicine cats there, "Am I cleared for combat?" Jayfeather mewed, "I'd prefer if you stayed a bit longer since we don't know if you are fully recovered or not." Fireheart mewed, "Trust me. I am." Jayfeather replied, "Well. You know your body the best. So I will take your word for it. But if you die on us, I will go to Starclan myself and drag your stupid ass back to the Forest. The entire forest can not afford to lose someone like you."

Fireheart nodded his understanding and mewed, "Let's go Dovewing." Dovewing nodded her agreement and they headed out together. Fireheart took the lead with Dovewing close behind him. As they ran towards the battlefield, they could hear battle going down on all sides. Fireheart took a deep breath and said, "Let's do this, time to let our comrades know we're back." Dovewing nodded her agreement and Fireheart sat down as he roared with all his might, "GUESS WHO'S BACK IN THE FIGHT?! IT'S TIME TO SEND THESE BASTARDS BACK TO WHERE THEY BELONG! THE PLACE OF NO STARS! WHO'S WITH ME?! IT'S TIME TO GIVE THEM A PROPER SEND OFF! LET'S GROUP UP AND FINISH THESE BASTARDS TOGETHER! THERE CAN'T BE MUCH MORE! WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER LIONCLAN! MEET ME IN THE CENTER OF THE BATTLEFIELD!" Fireheart stood back up and looked at Dovewing. Dovewing walked over to him and they ran into the upcoming battle together.

In the middle of the battlefield:

All of Lionclan had gathered up in the middle of the battlefield after finishing the fights they were currently in. Fireheart looked around at his clan and mewed, "I am proud of each and every one of you. Now. Let us send these pricks back from whence they came!" All of Lionclan hollered their agreement. Fireheart heard a cat approaching and looked behind him. Fireheart flashed a smile as he saw his father fast approaching. Lionblaze ran to his son and touched noses with him and said, "I was so worried! I was looking for the other groups of the other clans to find the other Medicine Cats to save your life! What changed?!" Lionblaze looked past Fireheart and saw Dovewing. Dovewing mewed, "I have decided to give him a second chance. Bumblestripe and I talked about it, and we both agreed. My heart belongs to Firestar. Even if I did learn something about him after he saved Riverclan the second time." Lionblaze looked at his son and back to Dovewing but decided to not pry. Lionblaze mewed, "I am with you, Firestar. We will win this, even if I am the last one standing! They can not placate my anger for what happened to you!"

Fireheart looked at his army and back towards the remnants of the opposing army. Fireheart yowled a ferocious battle cry and charged into battle, all of Lionclan on his heels. The final fight had begun!

Fireheart leapt into the fray first, teeth bared as he attacked a lab. Fireheart slid under the dog's attack and clawed its right flank with a flaming claw. The dog howled in pain and growled in an attempt to intimidate Fireheart. Fireheart growled back loudly and nodded his head. Dovewing understood the message. She sprinted over to his side and they began to tag team the dog. The dog, unable to focus on who to attack first. It went into a blind rage as it began trying to defend itself from both sides at the same time.

Fireheart ran towards Dovewing and slid to a stop behind her. He took a deep breath and bolted towards her. He leapt off of her and shoulder tackled the dog. The dog was sent flying from the force Fireheart hit it with. Fireheart ignited his pelt with white flames.

Lionblaze had defeated a small group of enemies before he leapt to his son's side and he said, "Let's finish this Firestar!" Fireheart chuckled and replied, "We gotta wait to finish this until Tigerstar shows himself. It could take awhile." Lionblaze replied, "Maybe so, but we can finish this fight at least!" Fireheart extinguished the flames from his pelt, nodded his agreement and began.

Fireheart's body erupted in a pure white and gold aura as he began the chant, "I, who shall awaken, am the cat sent from Heaven to protect the forest and defeat the Cat of Domination." Lionblaze's eyes widened as Fireheart's aura became bright gold as he continued, "I protect the weak, and give the Forest hope!" Fireheart's eyes became pure white as he continued, "I shall become the Heavenly Cat of Hope!" Fireheart's pelt became pure white as he continued, "I shall bring you all from the depths of despair!" Fireheart's body ignited in brilliant white flames as he finished, "HEAVENLY CAT DRIVE!"

Everyone on the battlefield looked at Fireheart in shock and awe. A single voice broke the silence as Dovewing yowled, "You fucking idiot! You know you can't control it completely! It's gonna sap your strength quicker than usual you fucking mousebrain!" Fireheart replied as he made the flames around his body extend further, the flames licking the air around him, searching for their target, "Maybe so! But we need to end this fight sooner rather than later so everyone can recover! ON ME! LET'S GO LIONCLAN!" All of Lionclan currently on the battlefield with Fireheart yowled their agreement.

Silverstream's, Heathertail's, Dovewing's, Lionstar's, and Mistystar's pelts ignited in white flames as they got closer to Fireheart. They all had to bite their tongues to hold back the moan from the amount of power flowing through their bodies. Silverstream bolted forwards, becoming a blur as she defeated three enemies in quick succession. Lionstar's body grew back to her lion size and she roared as she leapt into the fray. Heathertail shot forwards, the grass and bushes around her moving crazily from the amount of wind that hit them from her running towards the enemy. Mistystar's claws had white fire surrounding them and she leapt into the fray, slicing and dicing. Dovewing's senses improved tenfold, and her body began to dodge on its own because of her improved senses.

Lionblaze's jaw had dropped. He regained his composure and said, "We can't let them defeat the rest alone! Let's get in there!" The rest of the clan followed his lead.

Fireheart looked at the several dogs surrounding him and he smirked. Fireheart got onto his hind legs. The dogs shot glances around each other and attacked as one. Fireheart blocked several strikes. He caught one of his assailants with a powerful hook. The border collie was sent flying from the strike. When it got back to its feet, its jaw was broken. Fireheart dropped to all fours and bolted forwards. Fireheart jumped onto the dog's back and pinned it. He gripped its head as best as he could, claws extended, and twisted its head sharply to the right. An audible CRACK was heard as Fireheart snapped its neck. The light vanished from its eyes and Fireheart got off its back. He mewed, "One down. Five to go." Fireheart bolted forwards and tackled a golden lab. He clawed its stomach deeply. Blood shot onto Fireheart's pelt and it immediately evaporated. The dog howled in pain and got to its paws as it bolted away from the group. Fireheart looked at the four remaining. He hissed, "Bring it! Your numbers are your only advantage!"

The four remaining dogs leapt at Fireheart at once. Fireheart let his Heavenly Drive take slightly more control and his body began dodging on its own. Fireheart smirked as he slipped a strike perfectly and countered with a full force uppercut. The baron mastiff was sent ten feet in the air and Fireheart immediately leapt up and began striking the dog before it landed. Scarlet began to rain down on the other dogs. Right before the dog landed, Fireheart leapt off the mastiff; using it as a trampoline, and shot towards another dog. Fireheart tackled the german shepherd to the ground and began a flurry of fiery strikes. The shepherd howled in agony, its wounds immediately being cauterized from the flames around Fireheart's claws. Fireheart heard another dog leap at him and he backflipped off the shepherd and over the rottweiler. The rottweiler landed on its friend, teeth bared. It accidentally ripped the shepherd's throat out as it thought it had Fireheart in its maw. The shepherd gurgled on its blood. The rottweiler had its friend's throat still in its mouth, blood shooting from the wound onto it. Fireheart landed gracefully and dropped into a defensive position.

The rottweiler spit the chunk of throat out and growled. Fireheart looked over at the baron mastiff and saw it still hadn't gotten up. Fireheart hissed, "Four down. Two to go." Fireheart watched the other dog bolt away and Fireheart sighed and mewed, "Way to make me a liar, you bastard. Five down. One to go." Fireheart looked at the rottweiler and mewed, "Looks like it's just you and me, big guy." The rottweiler wasn't one for introductions and sprinted towards Fireheart. Fireheart chuckled and sprinted towards the rottweiler.

Fireheart and the rottweiler leapt at each other. They met mid-air and began to trade blows. Scarlet littered the ground all around them. The sound of battle all around them slowly vanished as they both focused on the battle before them. The rottweiler got a hold of Fireheart's throat, but he kicked it off of him and rolled to his paws. Fireheart said, "You are one hell of a fighter. Why don't you switch sides? You don't need to end up like your buddies. I know damn well you can understand me." Fireheart focused on dodging, trying to talk some sense into the rottweiler. The rottweiler didn't respond and doubled its efforts. Fireheart sighed and said, "I tried. Checkmate." Fireheart leapt back from a strike and appeared to vanish. He appeared behind the rottweiler and leapt onto its back. Fireheart tried to force it to the ground and failed. The rottweiler bucked him off. Fireheart flew through the air and landed gracefully. He shot forwards and slid under the rottweiler, clawing the back of all its knees. The rottweiler fell to the ground harshly just as Fireheart finished sliding under it. Fireheart sprinted to be in front of the rottweiler. The rottweiler looked at him and tried to get up, but couldn't.

Fireheart sat down in front of the rottweiler and mewed, "I know you can understand me. I didn't have flames on my claws when I took out your legs. So the wounds didn't cauterize. I cut just the right spot so you can't move for quite some time. Maybe you'll reconsider my offer now. Become a rat, no pun intended, for me. Let me know Tigerstar's next moves and you get to live. I see potential in you unlike the ones you call comrades. And you'll get to fight on the right side too. You've seen what I can do. Do you really want me as your enemy?" The rottweiler growled with a deep, raspy voice, "Fuck you! Go to hell!" Fireheart replied, "Been there, done that. Think about my offer. I am going to choke you out now and then cauterize your injuries so you can move once you wake."

Fireheart shoulder charged the dog's chest and pinned it to the ground on its back. Fireheart grappled his way around the dog and had the dog's back on his chest. The dog tried to escape but Fireheart had managed to clasp his hind legs around the dog's hind legs. Fireheart wrapped his front legs around the dog's neck. Slowly but surely, Fireheart managed to choke the rottweiler out. He took a deep breath and pushed the dog off of him. Fireheart ignited his claws with white flames and began cauterizing the dog's injuries.

Once Fireheart finished, he looked up and saw the sun beginning to set and the moon beginning to rise. He mewed, "Fucking hell. I need to get back to the battlefield." Fireheart took a single step and felt all power leave him as the Heavenly Drive deactivated. He gasped for breath and fell down. Fireheart began hyperventilating, and he tried to control his breathing. He managed to get his breathing under control. He took a slow deep breath and punched the dirt, his paw leaving an indent. He struggled to get to his paws and began to walk towards the main battlefield.

Fireheart arrived after about ten minutes of walking. He looked around and saw several bodies. He gasped in fear and tried to run towards the bodies to make sure none of them were his clanmates. He stumbled and fell, only to be caught by someone. He looked up and saw Crowfeather and Leafpool. Crowfeather smiled and said, "Easy there Firestar. Lionclan won. Thankfully no casualties on our side. Countless injuries, but nothing life threatening." Fireheart opened his mouth to say something, but Leafpool interrupted him and said, "Shush now. We were sent out to look for you by Bramblestar. You don't seem to be injured, but you're definitely exhausted. Let's get you back to the clan." Fireheart nodded and Crowfeather mewed, "No offense, but you look like hell." Fireheart mewed weakly before he blacked out, "I feel like it too."
