(Next update's here, hope you all enjoy it. Sorry that it's a short chapter, more of a set up and I had difficulty on how to best write it.)

Noble Six: Thanks. Glad you're enjoying it.

Death Fury: Thanks.

Chapter 35: A New Home

(Resistance's Temporary Base, the next day)

Connell sat, petting another of the dogs. The lurcher panted happily beside him. Connell smiled as he scratched behind the dog's ear. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a shape approaching him, it was Convict. She sat down beside him, the lurcher going to her and licking her hand. She had a small smile on her face, gently petting the dog.

"Everything ok?"

Convict looked to Connell. She rubbed the back of her neck.

"S-Sorry I was angry with how I was when you said I wasn't going with you."

"It's ok, I don't blame you."

"You don't?"

"You're one of the most passionate here about fighting S.H.I.E.L.D., not being in on the action upsets you. When I said you weren't coming, you thought I was denying you the chance to avenge someone."

Convict smiled a little, chuckling.

"So we're the Avengers now?"

"You can look at it that way…we haven't taken up the name, but I will say this:"

He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"You are an Avenger, regardless."

Convict smiled.

"Thank you."

Connell nodded, smiling.

He stood up.

"I think Over Watch has some news for us."

Convict nodded, following him.

They met there with the other sub commanders of the resistance, who nodded to the two.

"What have you got for us, Over Watch?"

Gigi turned to him, grinning. She tapped something on her device and a holographic screen of an underground facility emerged.

"Say hello to our new headquarters. Fit with living quarters, gyms, and so much more."

Connell smiled.

The spirit of Spartacus stirred.

'A new training ground that will allow you to enable further training and discipline.'

'And give us a safer place to organize.'

"Underground? Under where?"

AZ stood, arms crossed. Gigi grinned at this.

"Under a facility I've just recently built."

"What facility?"

"Labs and manufacturing, for 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'."

Fatale chuckled.

"Right under their noses. Clever."

"Thank you."

"How have you been able to construct underneath the facility without S.H.I.E.L.D. 's notice?"

"I told them it was for storage for bare or spare parts. They throw away a lot of shit."

Absolute Zero nodded.

"Right. Seen junkyards full of their crap. Bunch of old Sentinel parts from machines that have rusted or been destroyed."

"Of course they don't recycle."

Lona laughed at Connell's jab. Richard chuckled.

"Always knew they weren't eco-friendly."

"When do we move in? How do we move in? Wait, how're you gonna be able to keep us hidden down there? And when we move in and out?"

Gigi smirked.

(New Resistance Base, an hour later)

The group walked through the base, it was rather a luxurious set up for the most part. Couches, tables, and other furniture were placed for the group to sit and gather. There were places for kitchens and a lunch hall.

Connell crossed his arms, nodding.

"This will be good for getting to know one another. What else is here?"

Gigi led them into a room with a large, wide screen and a circular table with several seats and an orb at the center of the table.

"The strategy room. From here we'll organize missions."

"What's with the orb?"

Jackson pointed a clawed finger to it.

Gigi grinned.

"A direct link to the internet and my satellites. Can create maps on the screen, play videos, all one can think of."

"Cool."

Many of the group chuckled, nodding. Absolute Zero nodded, but didn't chuckle.

"What about a training room?"

They all walked into a large, white room. AZ raised an eyebrow at this.

"Is this what I think it is?"

Ms. Burns snapped her fingers. Suddenly the room transformed into a dojo.

"Hard light holographic training room."

Absolute Zero chuckled at this.

"This will work."

Mainard spirits stirred.

'Hard…light?'

'Can become solid from what she's said before in meetings.'

'Incredible.'

Connell nodded at this.

"Thank you for this."

"You're welcome."

Connell smiled, nodding.

Over Watch turned to the resistance, smiling.

"We'll set up who stays where and work out schedules. We'll be creating more teams, crossing over members for various missions…and in time, we'll be sending some of you across the country."

Many gasped, whispering.

Connell held up a hand and everyone slowly quieted down.

"I know this is a shock…but as you all know…S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't just have control over Manhattan…but the entire country…those being persecuted are from every state and are suffering. You are fighting bravely here, but there is still so much more we need to do. Even if we somehow manage to free those here from their grasp, the rest of the country is still under their control. I won't lie, it won't be easy. Many will start from scratch…you'll have to find allies…build up resistances from the ground up…but I know you can do it. I've seen your passion, your strength, and your will to fight these tyrants…"

Some of those gathered nodded.

Over Watch smiled.

"And I'll just be a call away."

The group nodded and cheered.

Over Watch held out her hands to either side of her.

"For now, welcome to your new home!"

The resistance cheered.

To be continued…

(Hope you all enjoyed the update.)
