Flashback, a few hours after the Conformatorium incident

It was evening at the Emperor's Castle, Lilith was sitting inside a conference room with an injured Warden Wrath and a couple of the Emperor's guards. She had been informed of an infiltration and break out that happened at the Conformatorium tonight and invited the group to write down a report. As she had expected, Wrath explained that Eda and her animal companion were the ones responsible.

"I'm a bit confused. I know Eda well and she's the kind of person to avoid the Emperor's Coven no matter what." Lilith said as she wrote on the report paper. "For what reason would she willingly break into the Conformatorium?" She asked Wrath.

"Oh, uh. Well I wanted to help in capturing the Owl Lady. So I arranged a trap using her pet's toy as bait." Warden Wrath said. Even though the trap plan was true, he decided to omit the real reason for capturing Eda, given that she was his superior's sister.

"I see." Lilith said as she continued to write.

"Madam Lilith, I would also report that the Owl Lady wasn't alone. She had two accomplices that helped her." A corporal ranked Coven Guard said.

"Is that so? I find it a bit hard to believe, Eda isn't the kind of person that would ask for help with her schemes." She said.

"Well here is where things get stranger, the two accomplices were teenagers." The guard said which caught Lilith off guard.

"What? it's very unlikely that my sister would get teenagers involved, especially if it's for something illegal." Lilith said as she put down the report on the desk. The guard kept his composure.

"Ask the warden, he was the one who confronted the entire group." He said.

"Is it true?" She asked Wrath, who nodded his head.

"Yes Madam Lilith. Two teenagers helped the Owl Lady at the Conformatorium." He said as he grabbed his jaw and groaned in pain. "One was a girl with brown skin and dark brown hair, the other was a boy with white skin and ash blond hair. I'm not sure if I heard her correctly, but she said she was a human and that the blond kid was her brother." He finished describing the Noceda siblings, which caused Lilith to rise from her seat.

"That's preposterous. No human is able to travel here from their realm and certainly not be able to have a witch sibling." She said.

"Miss, If I can speak, the Owl Lady is known to sell items from the human realm. So she might have brought a human here from one of her trips and took in an orphan witch." A private ranked guard said.

"Edalyn isn't someone who would kidnap children, private." Lilith said as she leered at the guard, causing him to look away as he stood at attention. "Besides, she isn't the motherly type, but this is an interesting turn of events." She said as she sat back down and finished writing her report. "That will be it gentlemen, you are dismissed." She said. Warden Wrath and his guards bowed before leaving the room.

"Private, Corporal, I want you both to do a walk-around at the Conformatorium and make sure that the area is secured." He said as he escorted his guards and closed the door behind him. Lilith sighed as she looked over at her report. She didn't know what to think about the situation, she took up the task of capturing the elusive Owl Lady in order to help her with her curse. But now there were two more people involved, and they were kids nonetheless. Either way, Lilith was determined to catch Eda no matter what.

End of Flashback

It was a late morning at the town market in Bonesborough. The Noceda siblings and King had helped Eda set up her Human Collectables stand and were now waiting for customers to arrive. Boredom began to take a toll on them as the elderly witch dusted her table, Hunter strummed the strings on a guitar he found in a junk pile, and Luz began to read her Good Witch Azura book to King.

"Emboldened by the dishonor Hecate had shown, Azura lifted her staff to the cotton-candy skies and shouted, "I challenge you to a Witch's Duel!"" She narrated before showing the page to King. "And look! I drew a flip book. Pew, pew, pew!" She said as she flipped between two pages showing a drawing of the two witch characters fighting with their staffs.

"Hah! I can draw better than that. You know, they once called me the King of Artists." King said as he did a pose.

"Wait. I thought you were the King of Demons. Are you just making this up now?" Luz said as she gave him a smirk.

"Eh, it doesn't matter. What's important is that my followers would leave me offerings in fear of me!" He said as he turned to look at her and raised his arms in a menacing stance.

"Well, I can offer you more of this tantalizing book." She said.

"Ugh! Please stop reading that. Its flowery language is an insult to witches and driving away all of our serious customers!" Eda complained as she continued to dust her table.

"Um, Eda? What customers? There aren't even any other stands around. What's going on?" Hunter said as he noticed that the group's stand was the only one present in the area. Eda looked around and narrowed her eyes.

"This is a bad omen. There must be something horrible happening today." She said ominously. No sooner than she said that, Gus and Willow ran up to the group.

"Luz! Hunter! Something amazing is happening today!" Gus said with excitement.

"Gus, Willow! Hey!" Luz greeted the two with a smile.

"¿Que esta pasando hoy?" Hunter asked, but the Hexside students looked at him in confusion at what he said. "I said what's happening today." He clarified.

"It's the annual covention today!" Willow said as she pulled out a flyer with details about the event. "Student witches get to see all the types of covens before they're placed in one. There's even a mystery guest this year!" She said as she pointed at the 'Mystery Guest' part on the paper. This piqued Luz's interest.

"A job fair for witches! Eda, can we go?" Luz asked the witch.

"Absolutely not." Eda responded, causing Luz to groan with a weakened smile before dropping to the ground. "I never joined a coven for a reason. Sure it's like a fun club for witches, but you're also giving up your magical independence to be part of a crooked system." She said as she looked away from the group of teens. "Eh, but, you know, no judgment. In any case, I haven't been to one since we were girls."

"Wait, we?" Hunter said, confused at what she meant.

"I-I-I- Well, I-" Eda stammered, trying to come up with an explanation before Luz interrupted her.

"Who's "we"?" She said as she jumped back up before gasping. "You have a mysterious past! Now we gotta go!" She said with a renowned smile.

"No." Eda said sternly before turning away.

"Uh oh, you shouldn't have said that." Hunter warned.

"Okay. Then you leave me no choice." Luz said before giving her Azura book to King. "Read." She said to him, which he began to do.

"Ahem. "You shall not shan't doeth no more harm," Azura callethed out as she readied herself to do battle. And ready she was, for her opponent was caught off guard…" King narrated as the book's writing style began to annoy Eda.

"So flowery, so awful." She groaned. She pulled out her portal key and summoned the door.

"Hecate could only screech, screech as did she, for the screeching did worseneth." King continued to read as Eda walked into the door. Luz quickly grabbed and tossed him through the door just as it was about to close up, only for it to reopen.

"Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" Eda yelled as she walked back out with King sitting on her head. "I will literally do anything to stop this!" She begged, causing Luz to narrow her eyes and put on a cheeky smile.

Eda groaned as she and the group stood in front of the building where the Covention was taking place. Luz was bouncing on her feet and Willow was clapping, excited that they were going to attend the event. The elderly witch began to pull up her hood and tried to stuff her large hair into it, but was having trouble doing so.

"Gotta keep a low profile. Luz, help me out." She said as the teen girl began to assist her.

"Is this cowl really necessary?" She asked.

"Do you think all my wanted posters are for petty theft?" Eda said as a pile of junk fell out of her hair. "Partly." She said as she picked up the items and stuffed it back into her cowl. "But the big whammy is I disobeyed the law and refused to join a coven. If I'm seen, I could go to jail. Again." She explained.

"Maybe this informative event will inspire you to join a coven." Willow said as she approached her with a Covention flyer. Eda drew a spell circle, which caused Willow's hood to pull itself up and cover her head.

"Let's just get this over with." Eda said as Willow removed her hood from her head. The group walked in and the Noceda siblings gasped at what they saw. There were dozens of coven stands with a large crowd of witches and demons socializing among themselves. Some were at several different covens, either joining them or just discussing what they offer. Others were looking at stands that offered witch gear; such cloaks, potions, wands, flying staffs, and spell books. And there were few high ranking coven witches giving a short presentation about their respective coven group to a crowd. The teens looked up and saw 9 large banners hanging from the roof of the building. They stared in wonder at the sight before them.

"Whoa. Was I even alive before now?" Luz said as she continued to look around.

"This is.. Really something else." Hunter said as Gus popped in between them.

"Those are the main nine covens, but there are hundreds of other ones you can join." He said as the group began to walk around.

"There's Flower Coven, Artist Coven, Big Dog Coven, Small Cat Coven, Tiniest Cat Coven-" Willow began to explain the various sub covens before Eda interrupted her with a groan. "Also the Grumpy Coven." She whispered to Luz and Hunter, causing them to lightly chuckle.

"What was that?" Eda said as she raised a fist, having heard what Willow said.

"Eep." She squeaked as the teens and King ran off, not wanting to face her wrath. As Eda watched the group run off, she didn't notice a male passerby walk up behind her.

"Uh, excuse me, ma'am," He said, causing her to turn around to look at him. "but you look rather familiar." He then noticed her wanted poster on a nearby pillar and looked back at the now nervous witch. He narrowed his eyes as his mind tried to connect the dots. Eda had to do something quick before she was found out.

"Uh... No, I don't. Distraction spell!" She said as she reached into her cowl and threw a 'Hex Mix' snack bag to the floor. The man stared in disbelief at what just happened and Eda used the opportunity to flee. Feeling a bit hungry, he bent over to pick up the bag but Eda came running back and dragged his hood over his face before picking up the snack bag and running away once again. He removed it and looked around to see where she went but was already gone. He took the poster off the wall and went to report the incident to a coven guard.

The group walked around the Covention and looked at the many covens, with Eda catching up to them. Luz stopped as she pointed at one stand with two pallets of construction material. At the stand were Tiny Nose and a short but bulky male witch with tan skin, bald head, and long gray beard and mustache. He was wearing a construction hat, a gray tunic with a darker gray tool belt and brown sleeves, a black cowl, black gloves, and dark gray boots. "Ooh, what's that?" She asked.

"That's the Construction Coven. One of the main nine. They use power glyphs to increase their strength." Willow explained as the group continued to watch. The bulky witch lifted the two pallets with ease and threw them in the air. The materials came down and formed a perfectly built house, surprising the two siblings. The witch then removed his hat, revealing a small stack of power glyphs in which he grabbed one and stuck it on Tiny Nose's nose. Her pupils shrunk before taking a battle stance and letting out a loud war cry, with a large golden aura appearing around her body. She picked up the construction coven witch and threw him in the air, who's mood was stoic the whole time, and began to wreak havoc on the stand.

"Ha-a-a! I'm the destwoya of worlds!" She yelled as she continued on her rampage.

"Hey, that's the opposite of construction!" A male construction coven witch said as he and another male ran in to stop Tiny Nose before she could do any more damage.

"I guess some people do go mad with power." Hunter said.

"Yowza-wowza!" Luz said. However, a light blue double of her poked her head out from behind her.

"Yowza-wowza!" The double repeated, which caught the siblings' attention.

"Yowza-wha-a?" Luz said in confusion.

"What in the hell?" Hunter said in surprise. The double walked over to two witches wearing a gray tunic, a dark gray cowl, light blue sleeves and leggings, and black heeled boots. The illusion waved at Luz before it disappeared, with the witches waving their hands in front of their faces.

"Ah! You've been taken in by the allure of the Illusionist Coven." Gus said as he ran to the two illusion witches. "We like to magic with a hint…" He said as he twirled his hand in the air before disappearing and reappearing beside the Owl House group in a puff of blue smoke. "...of showmanship." He finished as he and the illusion witches took a bow. With the things she saw, Luz couldn't help but be amazed at the coven system.

"Wow! Acceptance? Comradery? A sense of belonging? Covens sound incredible!" She said before turning to Eda. "Eda, why haven't you ever joined one?" She asked.

"Yeah, this whole coven thing sounds more like a benefit rather than a burden." Hunter said.

"Watch closely, you two." The elderly witch said as she turned them around to look at the illusion coven stand. One of the previous witches was holding the wrist of a teenage illusion witch. He put his hand, which began to emit a light blue glow.

"When you join a coven, all your other magic is sealed away." She said as they watched the senior illusionist remove his hand from the teen's wrist, revealing that he put an illusion coven insignia on him. It briefly glowed before several small light blue lines shone all over his body, and Hunter wasn't sure if he was just seeing things, but he noticed the teen became a little pale once it was done.

"Whoa." He said as Luz slightly gasped at what she saw.

"From now on, that kid will only be able to make illusions. Since I never joined a coven, I can do every kind of magic." Eda said as she summoned both a water and fire ball in her hands. "That's why I'm the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles." She said as she made the two balls disappear before walking away. The four teens quickly followed her, amazed at the types of magic she could do. King was about to follow them, until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Weh?" He said as he turned to look at the person. It was a female witch wearing the same uniform as the illusion witches, except her sleeves and leggings were a deep violet color.

"The tea leaves foretell that this will lead you to your destiny." She said in a soft voice as she pulled out a deep violet pen and gave it to him.

"Destiny? Feh! I'm not paying for-" King said before the witch interrupted him.

"It's free~" She said as she walked back into the shadows, giving him a finger gun gesture with both her hands.

(Parry Music - Funny Guy: watch?v=YBGG7Js8gh0 (start at 0:16))

"Are you bestowing gifts upon me? Yes! I accept your offering! The King of Demons is back!" He said in triumph as he ran to another coven stand to get free gifts.

(End at 0:21)

Meanwhile, the group continued to walk around until they came across a doorway flanked by coven scouts, who were wearing a dark gray long-sleeved shirt with brown gloves, a brown belt with a gold buckle, black harem pants and pointed brown boots. On their heads they wore a white cowl with a pointed hood and a light gray plague doctor mask. Several guards had different ranks on their sleeves, ranging from private to sergeant. Above the doorway was a large brown banner with gold trimmings with an insignia consisting of a large gold triangle with a sword going down the middle and bottom of the shape, a circle overlapped the sword and a pair of wings were connected to the sword handle and protruded from the triangle's sides.

"Hey, mira." Hunter said as he pointed to the doorway, causing the rest to look at it.

"That panel looks popular." Luz said as Gus let out a gasp.
"It's the Emperor's Coven! Do you think they'll sign my forehead?" He said in excitement.

"Only one way to find out, Let's go!" Willow said as the two ran inside. The Noceda siblings followed them, but stopped when they saw that Eda didn't move.

"Aren't you coming, Eda?" Luz asked her.

"No way. Of all the covens, they're the worst. I'll wait out here." She said.

"We get it, Covens: bad. Individualism: good." Hunter said.

"Well alright Eda, but I'm still figuring this world out, so I'm going to go in there and make up my own mind, okay?" Luz said as she jogged inside.

"Oye, esperame manita." Hunter said as he followed her in.

"I just saw her." Eda turned around as she heard a familiar voice. It was the man who nearly identified her and he was talking to a coven guard while holding the poster. He gave a quick glance over at the Emperor's Coven doorway and saw her. "She's over there. I think that's her!" He said as he pointed her out to the guard, who looked in his direction.

"Uh oh. Luz, Hunter, wait up!" She said as she ran into the doorway.

Inside was a large round auditorium with a large rectangular pillar with a small stage attached to it. The seats were packed as the crowd waited for the Emperor's Coven to start their presentation. Eda quickly sat down next to Luz and Hunter and looked around, relieved that none of the guards were pursuing after her.

"All right, let's see this mess." She said with a bored look. The lights dim as Principal Bump rises from the stage floor with spirals of green magic and a spotlight illuminating him. The audience applauds and cheers as he summons a microphone in his hand.

"Hello, Bonesborough! Welcome to this year's Covention! Students ask me all the time, "Principal Bump, what's the height of magical achievement?" Anyone want to take a guess?" He said to the crowd.

"Is it this?" A hexside student, who had beige skin, dark brown eyes, and straight brown hair which is shaved at the sides, asked as he performed a spell to make his head gigantic. However, the increased weight made his head fall to the side and crush another student next to him. Hunter couldn't help but chuckle.

"Wow. I failed you as a principal." Bump said in embarrassment before continuing. "It's being selected to join the best of the best. And there is no group better than the jewel of the coven system and the enforcers of his will, the Emperor's Coven." He said as three Coven Scout sergeants appeared from the ground in front of him, standing at attention. Luz watched in under until a pair of voices caught her attention.

"Luz! Hunter!" The two teens looked and saw Willow and Gus sitting not too far from them, with both of them pointing to Gus' forehead, which had been signed saying 'Emperor's Coven'. The siblings waved back before continuing to watch the presentation.

"Feast your eyes on this elite force, each member handpicked to help usher in a new age of controlled magic." Bump said as the three Coven Scouts drew a spell circle above their heads, one produced a jetstream of fire, another of water, and the last one being lightning. The three streams came together, producing a firework show that created confetti. The teens watched in wonder, but Eda sat there unimpressed.

"When does that "elite force" get here?" She said to a demon next to her before slapping her knee and laughing. They, however, didn't share the same though as they scooted away from her.

"Members of the Emperor's Coven have access to all- yes, all forms of magic. Ooh. Aah." Bump said as the crowd 'oohed' and 'aahed'. "But... only the best can ascend these ranks. Some day that could be one of you!" He said as he pointed to Amity, who squealed and smiled in excitement. However, the attention caused Hunter to notice her.

"Hey, look who it is." He said to Luz, who looked at Amity.

"It's her again." She said.

"And now, I'm pleased to introduce the esteemed leader of this coven and this year's mystery guest." Bump said as the three scouts grabbed their capes and disappeared in a flash of light. "You know her, you love her! Please welcome, Lilith Clawthorne!" He said, causing the crowd to gasp and Eda to stop laughing.

"Wait, huh?" Eda said as she focused her attention on Bump. A bright flash of light near the ceiling turns into a blue raven, with a figure inside it, sitting on a branch. It flies off the branch to the stage, landing to reveal Lilith wearing her white robe and raven mask. The bird disappears with a screech as she lifts her arms as she removes her mask and robe. The audience applauds and cheers, while Eda is left speechless.

"Wow." Luz said in awe.

"Wait, Lilith Clawthorne?" Hunter said, noting the familiar surname.

"Wait, does that mean that-" Luz began to speak before Eda cut her off.

"Yes kid, she's my sister." She said begrudgingly, causing Luz to gasp.

"Mysterious past. Oooh, this is getting interesting." She said in excitement.

"Thank you, all." Lilith said as she levitated her robe and mask to Principal Bump. "It wasn't easy for me to rise to the top. I also started from humble beginnings." She said.

"Like me." The giant-headed student said with wonder in his eyes.

"Now I have the highest honor of enforcing the Emperor's will. So be more! The Emperor's Coven awaits you!" She said as she recreated the raven illusion. It spreads its wings before bursting into balls of light that rained over the crowd. Lilith did a pose with her arms out, smirking, while Eda glared at her.

"Come on kids, let's go." She said as she got up and began to walk away.

"Eda, where are you going?" Luz asked as she and Hunter began to follow her outside the auditorium.

"I'm gonna head home and wash the con funk off my skin." She said.

"This isn't about your sister, right?" Hunter asked.

"No, it isn't. Now come on, We're leaving." She responded, slightly annoyed.

"But we haven't even taken the quiz to determine our coven type!" Luz said as she pulled out a magazine out of her pocket, flipped to a quiz named "What Coven Are You In?", and held it above her head. Eda didn't even look as she casted a magic beam through it and walked away.

"Ooh, a punky potionist." Luz said as she read the magazine, undeterred by the elderly witch's attitude.

"Hey, where's King? I haven't seen him since we went inside to that presentation." Hunter asked as the siblings began to walk.

"I actually don't know." Luz asked as she looked at her brother, not seeing the person in front of her, bumping into them and causing the two to fall to the floor. The person turned to scold Luz, revealing to be Amity.

"Watch where you- Oh, it's you two. Willow's... abomination thing and the transfer student." She said with a slight disdain as she got up, remembering the incident at Hexside.

"Well if it isn't the wicked witch of the west." Hunter said as he glared at Amity, causing her to narrow her eyes at him.

"Uh... Hey, Amity." Luz greeted her as she got up. "So, funny story. Not an abomination. Sorry for the confusion last week. I-I'm Luz. The human. And he's Hunter. Hi!" She said as she offered her hand but Amity smacked it away.

"Ugh. Put that away. You two got me in trouble with Principal Bump and I never get in trouble." She said.

"Well, to be fair, you were okay with him trying to dissect me." Luz said.

"Yeah, and you wouldn't have gotten in trouble if you hadn't harassed her." Hunter retorted.

"You two helped Willow cheat on her abomination project, I wasn't going to stand by and do nothing!" Amity fired back. "And why are you even defending a human in the first place?" She asked Hunter.

"She's my sister, idiota. And I'm not going to let anything bad happen to her while I'm here." He said, which confused the green haired witch.

"Wait, sister? But how?" She asked. "Wait, don't tell me you're from the Human Realm too?"

"Yeah I am." He said.

"That's impossible. There are no witches from that realm." She said.

"Guess there's a first for everything then." Hunter quipped, which didn't ease up Amity's glare.

"Okay, so we started off on the wrong foot, but let's put the past behind us and-" Luz said before Amity interrupted her.

"You two can't be here! This covention is for witches only. And that doesn't include witches from the Human Realm." She said as Hunter narrowed his eyes in response.

"Well, I'm learning how to be a witch. My brother and I are receiving magic lessons from a powerful witch and a ferocious demon." Luz said. Amity looked over the human girl's shoulder.

(Parry Music - Funny Guy: watch?v=YBGG7Js8gh0 (Start at 0:21))

"Is that your ferocious demon there?" She asked as she pointed behind the siblings, who turned around to look. It was King, decked out in various coven merch and holding a cupcake, walking towards them with two bakers, with one holding a baker's tray filled with cupcakes, walking behind him.

"Cupcakes in my tummy-tum makes the King say yummy-yum!" He said cheerfully.

"So you'll join the Bakers Coven?" One of the bakers asked. King stopped and ate his cupcake.

"Hmm... Nope!" He said before quickly grabbing another cupcake from the tray and running off towards Luz and Hunter.

(End at 0:44)

"Oh, hey guys! Look at all those offerings-" He said, but tripped on a loose scarf he was wearing. "Weh!" He said as he fell to the ground, with his cupcake falling near Amity. The green haired witch watched as Luz and Hunter attended to King. She felt disdain towards them because of what they did at Hexside and got her in trouble for the first time. Even though they got banned from school, she still felt that it wasn't fair that she got punished for trying to do the right thing. She looked down and saw the cupcake, where she noticed Hunter reaching out to pick it up. In one swift move, she stomped on it before he could pick it up. Luz and King gasped as Amity gave a devious smirk to them. "Oops. That was an accident." She said before looking at a shocked Hunter. "Try to be a little quicker next time." She said.

"Why are you being so mean, Amity?" Luz asked as she stood up.

"Because you, your "brother", and your pet are giving witches in training a bad name." She responded.

"I'm not a pet!" King said as he scratched his face with his hind leg like a dog. Luz knelt and hugged him.

"He's a very good boy and the King of Demons!" She said, causing Amity to raise an eyebrow at them.

"You know, for someone who hates trouble, you sure are good at getting yourself into them." Hunter said.

"Of course someone like you would know, considering the company you hang around." Amity snapped back, causing him to give her a menacing glare. Having enough, Luz stood up to give Amity a piece of her mind.

"I'll tell you what, Amity. It's one thing to say I can't be a witch-"

"'Cause you can't." Amity interrupted, but Luz continued.

"But it's another thing to bully my friends. Just like The Good Witch Azura said when facing down her rival Hecate at the Bog of Immediate Regret... I challenge you to a Witch's Duel!" She said in dramatic fashion.

Hunter, King, and everyone nearby gasped at Luz's request, but Amity's expression remained neutral. Hunter quickly ran up to his sister.

"Luz, ¿Qué estás haciendo? ¿Por qué desafías a esta chava a pelear contigo?" Hunter whispered.

"¿Viste lo que hizo, Hunter? No voy a dejar que se salga con la suya por faltarle al respeto a King." Luz argued.

Pues no voy a dejar que hagas esto." He said as he walked in front of Amity, who was slightly confused at their spanish conversation. "I'll fight you in place of my sister, Amity." He said.

"I'm not going to fight you." She said as she walked past him and stood in front of Luz. "I accept. Let's set the terms for this duel, shall we?" She said with a smile.

"One, if I win, you apologize to King for squashing his cupcake." She said.

"Goodnight, sweet child." King mourned as he held the ruined cupcake.

"And two, you admit that humans can be witches too." She said.

"Fine by me. But when I win, not only do you have to tell the whole covention you're not a witch, you and your "brother" have to stop training forever." She said, causing Hunter to stare in shock.

"Do it, Luz! For my honor!" King said as he threw a fist in the air.

"Quiet, King!" Hunter said, trying to stop him from encouraging his sister.

"Fine. Let's shake on it." Luz said as she held out her hand. Amity drew a spell circle around it before shaking her hand.

"The everlasting oath is sealed." She said as she pulled her hand back as the circle faded before Luz's hand glowed briefly.

"That's probably fine." Luz said nonchalantly.

"Meet back inside the auditorium in one hour. Let's see what kind of witch you are." Amity said before leaving. Hunter quickly ran by her side and noticed that she was nervous.

"Luz, what did you do?" He said.

"I-I don't know. I got caught up in the moment and I kinda hoped that she wouldn't accept it and just apologized." Luz said. "Oh this is bad. King, I-I can win this, right?" She asked him, who was eating the remains of his cupcake off the floor.

"Mmm? I'd say your odds are about 50/50." He said as he continued, causing Luz to whimper.

"That's gross, man." Hunter said as he looked at him.

Meanwhile, Eda was walking around the covention looking for an exit. She avoided large crowds and the Emperor's Guards in order to not get spotted. She noticed an exit and was about to make a run for it, until she heard a familiar voice.

"Sister?"

'Oh no.' Eda groaned as she turned around and saw Lilith with a group of Hexside students. She autographed a piece of paper before giving it to the giant-headed kid from the auditorium, whose head had returned to its normal size.

"It's been so long since I've seen you last!" She said as he looked at Eda's clothes. "What are you wearing? You look like some sort of trash collector. Oh, right. You are." She chuckled, much to Eda's annoyance.

"Oh, Lily. I just had to see the leader of the Emperor's Coven in action." She said before leaning down to the group of students. "You know, when we were kids, Lilith was so excited to see the Emperor's Coven, she peed a little." She told them, making them laugh and Lilith blush with embarrassment.

"That- That's all for today, children." She said as she dismissed them before turning back to Eda in an angry mood. "You shouldn't even be here. You're a wanted criminal! Unless…" She gasped. "I don't believe it! You are here to join the Emperor's Coven!" She said with a smile.

"Pfft, in your dreams." Eda said as she laughed, causing Lilith to give her a stern look.

'Why am I not surprised.' She thought. "I see you aren't taking this seriously, Edalyn. But I must ask you something. Is it true that you were involved in a break-in at the Conformatorium over a week ago?" She asked, which caused Eda to stop laughing.

"Uh, yes?" She answered.

"And is it true that you had some help in doing it?" She continued.

"...Yes." Eda reluctantly answered.

"And those that helped you, were they children?" Lilith asked. Eda took a pause and looked away, which slightly angered her. "Answer me." She demanded.

"Well it's obvious that you know what happened, why are you even asking me about it." Eda responded.

"Because I want to hear it from you personally. I want you to tell me the truth. So for the last time, Edalyn. Were they children?" She said with concern.

"Yes… I got two teens to help me out at the Conformatorium." Eda admitted. The coven witch sighed as she put a hand to her face. "But that was only that one time. I'm keeping them safe and away from anything dangerous." She said.

"It's bad enough that the Emperor's Coven is after you, but now you're endangering the futures of two young kids." Lilith said, which made Eda mad.

"Hey! At least they won't grow up to blind follow orders from the Emperor, like you Lily." She retorted.

"You think being covenless makes you so much smarter than everyone else, well you're not. While you run from the law like a degenerate and ruin the lives of two kids, I'm mentoring the next generation of powerful witch students into the world." Lilith said.

"Well, those kids are my students. And I bet they could wipe the floor with any of your prissy little blue bloods." Eda argued back.

"Is that a challenge?" Lilith said as she got closer to her.

"No, it's a promise." Eda said as she glared at her sister. However, their stare down was interrupted as Luz and Hunter popped up between them.

"Eda, I need your help! I accidentally challenged Amity to a witch's duel, and I think she's going to kill me all the way dead!" Luz said as she slumped to the ground.

"Help her get out of this mess." Hunter said as he comforted his sister.

"Mmm, it seems your student has met my strongest protégé." Lilith said to Eda with a smirk before kneeling down to take a closer look at Luz. "And look at those ears! Is she human?" She said as Luz covered them. "So Warden Wrath's story was true. Where did you even find one of these?" She asked before Hunter stepped in.

"Oye, deja en paz a mi manita, bruja fea." He said, which confused Lilith.

"Pardon me, but what did you just say?" She asked.

"I said leave my little sister alone, you ugly witch." He clarified as he glared at her.

"Sister? But how?" Lilith said, more confused about how a human is able to have a witch sibling than Hunter's insult at her.

"Well believe it or not, Hunter here is from the Human Realm and was raised his whole life there alongside Luz." Eda explained, which surprised Lilith.

"My Titan, a Human Realm witch. Something like this shouldn't be possible but yet, here you are. Oh, you must have many stories to tell about it." She said with curiosity.

"Well, they won't have time for that since I'm training them to be witches, Lily." Eda said. "Show her kids." She said. The siblings pulled out a pencil and a piece of paper. They drew a light glyph and activated them into orbs of light before letting them float in the air, shocking Lilith as she stood up.

"That is amazing, a new method of magic done by a human. Edalyn, these two have discovered something extraordinary. If they want to utilize it to the fullest, then I suggest enrolling them in Hexside, dear sister." Lilith suggested, which caused Eda to narrow her eyes at her.

"Well sorry to say, but these two have been banned from Hexside. So that really isn't an option." She said.

"That is unfortunate, but I can pull some strings to have it revoked." She said as she knelt back down. "Just say the word and I'll get it done." She said to them.

"Hold it Lilith, these two are mine. And like I said before, these two can wipe the floor with any of your students." Eda said as she held their shoulders. Lilith chuckled.

"Okay, Edalyn." She said as she drew a spell circle, causing Eda's wanted posters to disappear. "For one day, you won't have to hide from the law, because I want to see how good a teacher you really are. Meet me and my protégé at the auditorium in an hour." She said as she walked away. The group watched Lilith until Eda spoke up.

"Come on, kids. Time to prepare for bloodshed." She said.

"But... whose blood?" Luz said worryingly.

"Anyone's guess!" She chuckled, which didn't ease up the siblings' worries.

The group moved to an empty space in the covention for a quick training session. Eda put on a headband before starting. "All right, Luz. Let's start your training. Now, I'm coming at you with a blast of fire. What do you do?" She said.

"Uh, water spell?" Luz answered as she held several glyph cards in her hand.

"Good." Eda said as she summoned a fireball. "Think fast." She said as she threw it at her. Luz quickly pulled out a water glyph and activated it in her hand. She held it out in front of her as a waterball formed and shot towards the fireball. Both collided with each other, turning into a puff of steam in the air.

"Alright. Now I'm charging at you, what spell do you use?" Eda asked as she lightly jogged towards her.

"Light spell." Luz said with a bit of confidence. She activated a light glyph and summoned a flash of light in front of Eda, who closed her eyes to avoid it.

"Ah, I'm blind." She said as she put her hands to her face pretending to be blind. "What now kid?" She asked.

"Time for the plant glyph." She said as she placed it on the ground and activated it, summoning a long green vine that wrapped around the elderly witch.

"Alright looks like you're ready Luz." She said as she removed the vine from her. "Let's take a quick break."

"You sure this will be enough, Eda?" Hunter asked.

"You insult me by doubting my methods. Besides, Lilith is just bluffing. Her protégé probably isn't that good."

"Abomination. Rise."

The group stopped as they heard Amity nearby. They looked around a corner and saw her and Lilith. Amity had summoned an abomination minion that reached her shoulders. It twisted its head off and threw it, hitting a Bakers coven witch in the face. Tiny Nose was nearby and she grabbed his hand, chucked him, and then screamed as a golden aura appeared around her like before. The group watched the whole scene in silence before retreating.

"Well, that's a bit concerning. Boy, I hope you didn't make an everlasting oath to stop learning magic or anything." Eda said, causing Luz to wince a little.

"I-Is there a glowy hand thing that happens, or, uh…" She said.

"Oh boy." Eda groaned.

"So what's the plan now?" Hunter asked.

"I've got an idea. We'll cheat." She said.

"What?" Luz said, surprised.
"I'll booby trap the arena with my magic spells so that way you'll win, Luz." She explained.

"No. Even if I win, I'll lose since it won't be a fair victory. That's something I can't live with." Luz explained. "Let's just continue practicing." She said.

"Alright, we'll do it your way." Eda groaned.

Meanwhile, Amity dismissed her abomination as it disappeared back into a spell circle. Lilith smiled as she walked up to congratulate her student.

"Well done Amity, I'm impressed at the amount of progress you made with your abomination magic." She said.

"Thank you Miss Lilith." Amity said, smiling.

"I do want to ask something. How did you meet my sister's students?" Lilith asked as Amity's mood fell a bit.

"Well, they both showed up to Hexside to help another student cheat, the human girl pretended to be an abomination. I got suspicious and discovered their plan and reported it to Principal Bump. When he was about to discover who she really was, another student and her "brother", Hunter I think, made an escape attempt. I tried to stop them but they escaped, with him attacking me." She explained.

"Is that where you got your abdominal injury?" Lilith asked, with her student confirming it by nodding her head. "I see." She said as she pondered in thought. 'Seems that my sister has taught those kids more than just magic. But knowing her habit of cheating, I'm not surprised. Amity is showing great progress so I don't think Eda's students will prevail. Still, you can never be too careful." Lilith thought as she reached into her dress' pocket as she walked towards Amity. "Well I think you'll get payback when you defeat Eda's student. I have faith in you." She said as she put her hand on the back of Amity's neck, stealthy putting a power glyph on it.

"Thank you Miss Lilith. I won't let you down." The green haired student responded with a smile.

"I know you won't." Lilith said.

An hour later, the two groups met inside the auditorium and stood in the arena. Luz stood nervously while Amity stood with confidence, staring her down from the other end. Lilith summoned a microphone in her hand.

"Beloved citizens, the Emperor's Coven proudly presents an impromptu demonstration of the sort of witch we seek every year. Introducing Amity Blight." She said as her student walked forward with a smile. The crowd cheered as she waved at them.

"Woo, Amity!" One Hexside student with a foam finger that said 'Amity #1' cheered.

"Versus… some human girl." Lilith said uninterested as Eda moved out of the way to proudly present Luz, who waved meekly. The crowd stopped cheering and muttered in confusion at what they just heard.

"A human?"

"Here in the Boiling Isles?"

"Humans can't do magic!"

"She's not Amity." The same foam finger student said. Hunter walked towards where Willow and Gus were sitting and joined them.

"Hunter, were you aware of this?" Gus asked.

"Luz isn't actually going to fight her, right?" Willow asked in a worried tone. Hunter didn't respond as he continued to watch the arena like a hawk, causing Willow and Gus to share a nervous look.

"Alright, show time kid. You ready?" Eda said as she looked at Luz, who was nervously shaking. "Hey, relax. You got this. Show that uppity brat what you got." She said, which lifted Luz's spirits a little.

"Thanks Eda, I-I won't let you down." She said.

"That's the spirit." Eda said as she gave a thumbs up.

"Stay safe Luz!" Hunter yelled from the seats.

Luz gulped as she walked towards the center of the arena, where Amity was waiting for her. She meekly waved at her but the green haired witch cracked her knuckles in response as she stared her down. The crowd cheered as the two were finally ready to begin their battle. Except for Gus, Willow, Hunter, with the latter watching in concern.

(End at 0:15)

A bell rang and screamed, signaling that the match had started. Amity quickly drew a large spell circle in front of her. "Abomination. Rise." She said as a gigantic abomination minion emerged from the circle, to the shock of both girls. "Whoa." Amity said in awe of her abomination before turning to Luz with a menacing glare. "Show me what you got, human!" She said.

"I'm not good under pressure!" Luz yelled as she ran away. The abomination groaned as it twisted its head off and threw it at the retreating human, just barely missing her. "Whoa." Luz said.

"Keep calm Luz. Remember your glyphs." Eda yelled to her.

"Hey look out!" Hunter yelled to his sister. Luz turned around and saw the abomination, with its head regrown, approaching her. Out of instinct, she pulled out a plant glyph and quickly slammed it on the grown. There was a small rumble as various large plant vines shot up from the ground and wrapped around the abomination, trapping it. Amity looked on in shock at what just happened.

"How did you do that?!" She said to Luz.

"Um, magic?" She responded nervously with jazz hands, which only angered the green-haired witch as she commanded her abomination to break free from the vines.

"Things that are free~. People are giving offerings to me~!" King, who was decked out in various shirts, hats, wristbands, buttons, and scarves from different covens, sang as he walked towards Hunter, Gus, and Willow. "I love offerings! What did I miss?" He asked as the three turned to look at him.

"Where were you?" Hunter asked.

"What are you wearing?" Gus asked.

"Luz is in a witch's duel!" Willow answered his question.

"Weh?" King said as he looked at the arena. Luz continued to avoid the giant abomination. She turned and saw that it was about to stomp her with its foot. Thinking fast, she used a water glyph by placing it down on the ground and activating it, causing a large water spray to shoot out and hit the abomination, falling on its back. Luz used the opportunity to gain some distance, which confused Amity.

"You're not even trying to fight back? What are you getting at?" She said.

"Not dying!" Luz responded as the abomination sat up with a groan. She used another plant glyph to try and trap it again. The vines wrapped around its legs before the abomination threw its head at Luz, who jumped out of the way. Hunter watched the fight in concern of her sister's well-being.

"This I gotta see!" King said as he sat next to Hunter.

"Go Amity!" The foam finger cheered.

"Hey! You root for Luz or nobody!" King said as he began to march towards the student. However, Hunter grabbed him before he could.

"I'm already worried about the safety of my sister and I don't need any more stress right now. So you're gonna stay here and not cause any trouble. Got it?" He said as King nodded as the crowd around them continued to cheer.

Meanwhile, Luz had summoned another large water spray at the abomination to knock it down but was getting tired. 'Oh man, I need to win this soon or else I'll have to stop learning magic.' she thought as she looked at Amity. 'Okay. I don't need to beat the giant abomination, I just need to find a way to stop her.' Luz thought as she focused on her new plan. She threw two light glyphs, one near the abomination and one near Amity, and blinded them with a sudden light flash.

"Gah!" Amity yelled as she covered her eyes, as did the abomination. A pair of plant vines quickly wrapped around her, thanks to Luz. She grunted as she tried to free herself, with her abomination slowly losing its form due to her loss of control and reverting back into a puddle of goo. Luz smiled, thinking she had found a way to win.

Amity continued to struggle against the vines but was having trouble breaking free. She looked at Luz and her temper began to flare. 'No. Not again. This human and her "brother" made a fool out of me at Hexside. And now here, in front of not only everyone, but my teacher and the Emperor's Coven too. She thought as she continued to struggle, a faint glow began to appear around her. 'I won't let that happen. I won't let her win. I will not lose to a human!' With one last effort, Amity broke free from the vines, with her body briefly glowing light purple before fading away, and reforming her abomination. Luz watched in shock as it looked at her with a menacing glare.

"Oh no." She said as she tried to activate another glyph, only for the abomination to quickly attack. Luz quickly ran but it kept up with her thanks to its new agility. She turned and saw the abomination ready to throw a punch. She yelled and quickly dodged the attack, though the abomination didn't let up on his assault.

"Luz! Get out of there!" Hunter yelled, horrified at the sudden turn of events. The human girl tried to use her glyphs, but didn't have enough time since the abomination was constantly on her tail. Amity watched on, satisfied at what was happening.

"Not so tough now, huh?" She said as she put more power on her abomination. "Time to end this." She said as her abomination managed to corner Luz. It groaned as it raised its fist to crush her. Having seen enough, Hunter got up from his seat and jumped down to the arena.

"Hunter, what are you doing?" Willow said as she, Gus, and King watched in shock.

"Luz!" He yelled as he ran towards her, pulling out several glyphs from his varsity jacket. The abomination swung his hand down, with Luz closing her eyes, waiting for the inevitable. Hunter broke into a full sprint and managed to reach her. He activated three plant glyphs, in which several large thick vines shot out from the ground and impaled the abomination, immobilizing it. The entire auditorium was in shock at what just happened. Hunter quickly grabbed Luz and took her to a safer spot in the arena, away from the abomination.

"Are you kids alright?" Eda asked as she joined them. Amity was left speechless before looking at the Owl House group, her frustration returning. However, before she could act, Lilith stopped her by putting her hand on the green witch's shoulder.

"Outside interference is strictly prohibited in a sanctioned witch's duel and is grounds for disqualification." She explained to the group before smiling. "Oh, Eda. I do believe this means you lose!" She said, causing Luz to gasp.

"I knew you would do something like this." Amity accused Luz. "First with Willow, and now you have your "brother" step in and help you." She said.

"I-It wasn't my idea to cheat. And when I found out, I tried to stop it, b-but-" Luz tried to explain before Amity interrupted her.

"Who could believe anything you say?" She said as she turned and walked away. However, Eda noticed the power glyph on the back of her neck.

"Wait just a sec, Miss Protégé." The elderly witch said as she walked towards Amity, with Lilith's eyes going wide, fearing what's going to happen next. Eda caught up and grabbed the green hair witch's shoulder before lifting up her hair.

"Hey! What are you-" Amity said before Eda took off the glyph, causing her abomination to shrink to the height of her knee before reverting back into a puddle and the vines to fall and disappear.

"A power glyph from the Construction Coven." Eda said as she held it up for the crowd to see as they gasped. Some looked on in shock while others began to murmur to each other. Amity felt the shame wash over her, even though she never put the glyph on herself.

"She cheated!" Willow whispered to Gus.

"Ah-ha! Yes, yes, yes-yes-yes! You cheated. Perfect, prissy Lilith cheated." Eda cheered. "Hot dang, I love coventions! La-la-la~" She continued her celebration, irritating Lilith.

"I only did that because I knew you would cheat!" Lilith retorted as her cheeks turned red from embarrassment.

"Still cheated! Welcome down to my level!" Eda continued. Amity looked at her mentor and realized that she was the one who put it on her. Her mood fell more as she thought that her own teacher didn't trust her to win on her own. She began to back away from the group.

"But... I didn't know!" She said before running away from the auditorium.

"Amity, wait!" Luz said as she chased after her.

"Luz, hold on." Hunter said as he followed his sister.

"Hey you guys, wait for me!" King said as he followed from the seats, though his offerings made it difficult for him to run. He stopped and looked at them, debating whether he should keep or ditch them. With a groan, he removed them before continuing to catch up with the Noceda siblings.

"Knock it off. You're making a scene!" Lilith yelled as Eda continued to celebrate by performing a dance.

"You cheated. Hey, where's the Rhyming Coven? What rhymes with "cheated"?" She said before continuing her dance.

"Stop acting like a child!" Lilith said, her temper rising.

"You were defeated, don't get heated, get your stank face treated." Eda rhymed, which brought her sister to her breaking point.

"Rhyme. One. More. Thing. I dare you!" Lilith growled through her gritted teeth.

"Oh, it's okay, I'm done. Because my rhymes are depleted!" Eda laughed, pushing Lilith over the edge.

"That's it!" She screamed as she summoned her staff and hit Eda with a blast of blue magic energy, throwing her into a wall. The audience gasped, but Eda gave a smirk at her sister.

(Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Boss Battle Song 2 Extended: watch?v=A6BcDbIfTJs)

"There she is!" She said as she summoned her own staff. She spun it and summoned her own blast of orange magic energy at Lilith, who countered it with another blue magic blast. The two beams collided and were evenly matched, causing the two witches to put more energy into their respective attacks.

"Witch's duel!" Someone in the crowd shouted as the audience began to cheer. They watched as the two beams produced a blinding white light that covered the arena.

(End at 0:18)

Hunter ran out of the auditorium and looked around. He had lost sight of Luz and quickly ran around to find her.

"Luz! Luz! Where are you?!" He called out as he looked around at the coven stands. He wasn't looking at where he was going and bumped into a tall man with dark brown skin and purple hair wearing a long purple side cape. "Sorry sir." He said to the stranger as he ran off before he could look at him. The man turned and saw a blonde kid with a yellow varsity jacket turning a corner. Even though he didn't catch a good look at him, the man felt that he seemed familiar but couldn't figure out why.

Meanwhile, Luz was searching for Amity to clear things up. She spotted her sulking in a dark corner near a restroom. Just as she was about to walk towards her, she heard her brother from behind.

"Luz! There you are." Hunter said as he ran up to her. "Why did you run off?" he asked.

"Lo siento Hunter, but I wanted to talk to Amity. She looked devastated after what happened." Luz explained, which surprised him.

"What? Why? After everything she said about you, why do you want to talk to her?" He asked.

"Because I want to make things right." She said as both teens walked towards Amity. "Hey, Amity… I just wanted to say that I'm sorry and-"

"Ugh, seriously? Just leave me alone." Amity responded.

"I didn't mean to embarrass you." Luz continued.

"That's all you ever do! First at school, and now this!" Amity angrily said.

"Yeah, but-" Luz was interrupted as Amity stood up to face her, her eyes looking like they were about to cry.

"You and your brother made me look like a fool in front of the Emperor's Coven. My future! You think it's so easy to be a witch. I have been working my whole life to get to the top! And now, you two have ruined all of that in less than a day!" She said, her voice breaking as she took a quick breath. The siblings stood in concern at her sudden outburst, with Hunter slowly moving in front of Luz. "You lost! You cheated! Say it! Say you're not a witch!" She yelled. Hunter was about to talk back until Luz walked in front.

"You're right. I'm not a witch and neither is my brother." Luz said in a somber tone. She then took out a piece of paper and drew a light glyph on it. She tapped it, causing a small ball of light to appear. "But I'm training hard to be one." She said as Amity stared at it in wonder.

Meanwhile at the auditorium, The Clawthorne sisters continued their battle. Lilith drew a spell circle and pushed her hand forward, her circle turning into a burst of magic that headed towards her outlaw sister. Eda took a few steps back and drew a spell circle on the ground with her staff. She lifts her hand, creating a growing pillar of wood that splits Lilith's attack. The pillar bends, revealing an owl's face, and heads towards Lilith. She stared at it before teleporting away from its approaching beak, causing the pillar to crash into a wall. The sisters continued to send beams of magic towards each other. Several stray beams enter the audience, causing the crowd to scream and flee from the auditorium for their own safety. Lilith landed as two new owl faces extended from the large pillar and attacked her. Eda drew four more spell circles on the opposite side which created four more owl pillars to attack Lilith, but she easily teleports away from all of their beaks, destroying one on the ground, then three in the air with a grunt before spotting her sister and charging towards her. Eda smirks and spins her staff, creating an orange shield as Lilith hits it with her staff. The shield began to crack, but Eda's expression didn't change. Owlbert's eyes glow before flying into Lilith's face, interrupting her attack by pulling her hair.

"Ow, ow, Get off of me! Ow-ow-ow-ow-ow!" She cried as she swatted her hands at the palisman.

(End at 0:50)

"Say goodnight, sister." Eda said as she used the opportunity to summon another owl pillar. This time it was successful as it caught her with its beak, with Owlbert quickly moving out of the way and returning to the staff. Eda smiled at him before looking back at the pillar, becoming shocked as she saw a burning hole on its side. She quickly gripped her staff and looked around, hoping to catch Lilith before she could attack. However, several magic rings suddenly appeared and trapped her. Lilith suddenly appeared in front of her after using an invisibility spell.

"Enough of this." She said coldly before hitting Eda with her staff, sending her flying into a wall. Lilith smirked before aiming her staff at her sister.

"Lily, wait. The curse." Eda said, causing Lilith to pull back her staff in concern. "Look at me. Look at my face. The curse is worsening and I can't keep up with it. I don't know how much time I have left." She groaned.

"I'll admit I was surprised when I first saw you today." Lilith said as she approached and knelt beside Eda.

"I just had to see my sister for... possibly the last time." She said. Lilith looked down, worried about her sister's well being. Even though Eda had found a way to keep the curse at bay, deep down she knew it would only be a matter of time before it would consume Eda completely.

"Eda, I- Ah!" Lilith was interrupted as a bag of Hex Mix hit her face. She looked at it before looking up, seeing Eda running away with a smile.

"It's been fun, but let's call it a draw! Byyeeeee~!" She said, laughing as she made her escape.

"Argh!" Lilith yelled.

Outside the auditorium, Amity looked at the ball of light before looking at the Noceda siblings before turning away.

"That's nothing. A child could do a light spell." She scoffed, causing Luz's expression to fall while Hunter glared at her. "But... I've never seen it cast like that." She said.

"It doesn't come naturally to us like it does for you, so we had to improvise." Hunter said as she summoned his own light glyph. However, this confused the green haired witch.

"Wait, can't you do magic naturally?" She asked.

"No I can't. Maybe it's because I spent all of my life in the Human Realm and not practicing magic." He explained.

"Kinda like Willow, but worse." Amity muttered to herself, but Hunter caught it.

"Listen. I don't know what your deal is in thinking you're better than others, but I won't put up with your BS." Hunter said as he narrowed his eyes. "Besides, my sister didn't lose to you and your "win" wasn't clean-"

"I never put the power glyph on me, my teacher did." Amity clarified.

"Either way, undo that oath thing you did with Luz." Hunter finished. Amity looked at the two before giving out a sigh. She gestured to Luz to put her hand out, which she did, and drew a spell circle around it before grabbing her hand. Both glowed briefly as the circle disappeared.

"The oath is unbound." Amity said as she walked away.

"Wait. Did it work? Can I still learn magic?" Luz asked her.

"Humans have no magical ability. But I doubt that'll stop you or your brother." She said, which caused Luz's mood to brighten a little. "However, this doesn't mean we're friends. So stay out of my business." She said before walking away. Hunter kept his narrow gaze on her, until Luz spoke.

"I think we might be on good terms." She said, causing him to facepalm.

"Luz! Hunter! You guys left me!" King said as he ran up to them.

"Yeah, sorry. Your legs are just so tiny." Luz said as she hugged him.

"What happened to all the stuff you were wearing?" Hunter asked.

"I made the difficult decision to sacrifice my offerings to catch up with you. An unfortunate, but necessary sacrifice, I know!" King said, causing Luz to giggle and Hunter to roll his eyes.

"Should we get you more offerings?" Luz asked.

"Nah. That stuff just weighed me down. But I have something for you two. And it's the best thing, because it's free, comes from my heart, and I always have more than I need." King said as Luz gasped.

"Is it love?" She said.

"Ugh! No! Tote bags!" King said as he pulled out two tote bags from behind him. He gave one to Hunter and put the other on Luz's arms and hopped in. "And they have so many uses! Away, fair chariot! Away!" He commanded as Luz patted his head.

"We gotta go." Eda said as she walked up to the group while looking behind.

"How'd you get away from Lilith?" Hunter asked.

"Let's just say she had a real "snack attack." Hah!" She snorted. "Wait, I got a better one."

"Hey Eda…" Luz said as the elderly witch looked at her. "Do you think I'll ever be a true witch?" She asked.

"What? I don't know. And who's a true witch? These suckers?" She said as she pointed towards a group of random witches, causing them to walk away looking peeved at her. "According to them, that means being in a coven, but I never joined one and I'm better than all of them combined. You gotta be your own witch." She said, which brightened up Luz's mood.

"My own witch." She said in awe.

"You do go by your own rules, manita. Heh heh." Hunter said as he rubbed her hair, causing her to give an annoyed look.

"Don't do that." She said.

"Now, let's go before my sister realizes I tied her pointy shoes together." Eda said as the group heard Lilith angrily scream nearby. "And that's our cue!" She said as she ushered the group towards the exit.

"Sister? Now that's a mysterious past payoff!" Luz said.

"Oh, you think that's all the mystery I got? Wait until you hear about my parents." Eda said.

"What? You've got parents? I need to know more!" Luz said surprised.

"You very much don't!" King warned.

"Luz, everyone has parents. It's not that shocking." Hunter said as they all walked back to the Owl House.

Later, Lilith opened the door to her dressing room. She began to walk in before she tripped, which was caused by her boot laces being tied together. She grunted as she stood up beside her desk.

"You make it so hard to want to help you, Edalyn." She said. Her compact mirror on the desk opened up to reveal a video call by Kikimora, Lilith gasped as she composed herself.

"Lilith, I see you let The Owl Lady get the best of your temper. Just remember what Emperor Belos has promised to you." The red demon said.

"I will capture her, ma'am. You have my word." Lilith responded as she bowed.

(Parry Music - Dark Motives: watch?v=U-sxdBjMHaA)

"Very good." Kikimora said as she ended the call. Lilith looked at the mirror before pulling out her sister's wanted poster. "You might have two new people to help you. But know this Edalyn, your days are numbered." She said as she crushed the poster.
