NotNoice: - Oof, oh yeah the edits. I did go back and fix them. I was writing at 11pm at the time and mainly wanted to sleep and just get the chapter out. And lol I feel like Obito would have a reaction like that, but I guess we'll see ^^; Thanks again for your support!

Story synopsis: In amidst the tension of Kakashi's and Obito's duel, both rely on their Kamui to claim victory. Kamui is a powerful mangekyou, and when used lightly the results can be life-changing. Literally. It's a Kekkei Genkai that allows transportation through space-time, so why not actual time? Neither Kakashi nor Obito was at all prepared for what was install for them. And it doesn't help that neither knows that the other is from the future. (Yet another time travel Naruto fanfic! They are much too common, but are also amazing so why not? Probably an eventual KakaObi at some point maybe)

Two feet tracked water behind them as they entered the Uchiha compound, while a certain brunette sighed as he shut the door behind him. Obito really couldn't believe he'd let himself get that carried away in what was apparently Kakashi's antics when he'd come to 'see how he was doing' according to the Hatake. Obito hated this. He hated that Kakashi was suddenly treating him better than when he would as a kid... Or well, deep down Obito had known that it was something his younger self had always wanted. Appreciation from his rival. He used to train day in and day out so he could one-day match Kakashi's strength even if he really was out of his league. The boy was a prodigy, after all, Obito used to think he'd had no chance of catching up to Kakashi... Now he knew better, Now he knew, that if he trained enough, he could match him in strength.

Then why didn't he feel pleased about that?

Sitting down at the table, the Uchiha let his damp clothes continue to drip onto the floor and the table. He sat there quietly, a puddle forming slowly at his feet. Hands clenching at his knees as his eyes gazed down at the table's wood, apparently finding it interesting even if it shouldn't be. He knew. Obito knew that he should just do what it was he wanted. And despite not wanting to admit it. He wanted to stay. Kakashi was treating him better. Rin was alive. Minato was alive too. One would think that this existence would be better than leaving the village when there was now something to leave behind. Last time there was nothing waiting for him, nothing that mattered to him anyways. But now... He had something that mattered... Did he?

Obito cursed under his breath as his mind went back to that damn Hatake that was anything but himself. Why did everything have to lead back to him!? Why did Kakashi even matter in his decision of leaving or not!? The brunette sighed aloud, resting his arms on the table, and burying his face in them. His sleeves were wet, and the dampness seemed to cool his face which he hadn't realized was burning up. Obito sat there, his arms folded and his head slumped into them. His body was shivering from the cold of being dragged into the lake before, but the Uchiha couldn't find it in himself to care. He didn't want to admit what was on his mind. He didn't even want to think about it. He hated thinking about it. He didn't need to stay, no one would care... Or that's what he told himself anyway. Because the fact was that people would care. He would care. Obito knew he would. He had last time. When his mask had been broken back in the war. He could see it so clearly written on his face. The disbelief, the shock, the overbearing confusion, but more importantly, Obito could see the happiness that hung over his features knowing that he Uchiha hadn't been dead.

He shut his eyes tight. Thinking about Kakashi wasn't doing his mind any better. And it definitely wasn't going to persuade him into leaving. But he needed to leave. It was his obligation- no, his destiny to become the saviour of the world and bring about the Infinite Tsukuyomi! ...Wasn't it? Well... Obito supposed that Madara was the one who filled his mind with those thoughts. Not to mention he'd placed that damn seal on his heart... Thankfully there was no sign of the seal on Obito's current heart in this time. So he wasn't bound to Madara in any way. He didn't have to do any of this for Madara. However, Madara was the one who'd found him and ensure his survival though... He was indebted to the man. But then again, maybe Obito should have died back then... Maybe it would have been better that way? Maybe death was all he really had deserved...

Yes. It probably was...

The brunette shifted where he sat, his eyes looking up slightly, staring off at nothing really. He deserved to die, didn't he? He deserved Kakashi's Chidori to pierce his organ that claimed it was his heart. A heart that had shattered into hundreds of pieces long ago. He deserved it for everything he'd done, didn't he? He looked back on what he'd done to those of the world in the previous timeline. Thinking of the hundreds of people who he'd killed to achieve the goal Madara set out for him to do. Why was he doing it? Why did he kill so many? Wasn't he trying to save the world in his actions? And yet he used violence and killing in cold blood to get his way...

It wasn't right.

Then why? Why was it that despite all those horrible, twisted crimes he'd been behind. Why was it that Kakashi, the person who should have hated him the most. The one that should have been relieved to be able to end his life and be the true saviour of the world. Why was he... happy to see him? To a degree anyway. Obito could vividly remember the expression the Hatake held when his mask had been broken. One of alleviation. He was... relieved that Obito was there. Standing in front of him. Was Kakashi really glad to see him? Was that... Was that why he'd hesitated to kill him?

Obito tensed. Thinking like that wasn't getting him anywhere. He didn't... Kakashi- he... The Uchiha sudden jerked upwards, finding breathing a rather difficult task for no apparent reason. His hands shook for a reason unknown to him, and before he could really comprehend what he was doing, the brunette had swept any contents on the table off of it in a fit of rage. Plates shattered as they hit the ground hard and glasses didn't turn out any better. The silverware landed on the ground with a metallic sound resounding around the room, and any food that had been on the table was not in any condition to be eaten. Obito clenched his fists in anger. Breathing heightening, quickening, it was all too much. Sharingan activating which was more or less an accident, before he couldn't take it in anymore.

"That... That Bastard! Why!? Why the hell does he have to make this so damn difficult! WHY!?" The Uchiha had clamoured in frustrating, his hands slamming down on the wood of the table. 'BASTARD! That Bastard! Bastard, that damn bastard...' The boy soon leaned down, his head pressing down on the table. Hands clenched tightly as he yelled out his problem like a mantra. Why was this so difficult! Why was the Hatake the only apparent reason he wasn't already gone? They had only talked twice since arriving here! What was his problem!?

His shouts turned into mumbles, which soon changed to whispers. And Obito felt a vast amount of his strength drain from his being. His Mangekyou activated seemingly on its own, and the boy dropped down through the table, giving no resistance as his body hit the floor below. Few pieces of glass were scattered around him, but the brunette couldn't say he cared if he'd gotten cut by any. He lay there, almost as if he were lifeless, staring at nothing. Not wanting to think of anything, and definitely not wanting to do anything. He was cold. He was wet. He was tired. He was angry. He was upset. The Uchiha just had too much going on at that moment to give a crap about anything. He didn't hear the knock on his door, or the footsteps that followed, or the soft voice of Rin asking to see him, or the footsteps again as they left his front door. Obito didn't hear anything. He didn't want to. He blocked it all out.

He didn't want to exist right now. He wanted to disappear.

Thankfully his eyes closed, and his body relaxed. Sleep relieving him from this forsaken reality.

Steam escaped through the crack in a window of the Hatake's apartment and ventured into the night. The shower was running loudly, and hot water refreshed the grey-haired boy who had a lot of planning to get to. Kakashi smiled to himself as he'd turned off the water, before wrapping a towel around him. He couldn't belief Obito had actually shoved him into the lake like that. Why the Uchiha had done it was beyond Kakashi, as he didn't seem to get any enjoyment from doing so. The Hatake hadn't heard any laughs or mocking sound when submerged, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to get revenge. It was childish, the boy knew that much. But it relieved much of his stress being able to actually act like a kid. Kakashi got a kick out of doing so at least.

Thinking of the Uchiha eased his mind all the more Kakashi noticed. The ghost of his Sharingan- which was a name he thought of on the spot- wasn't bothering him now which he could only assume was due to his thoughts of the brunette. Obito seemed really different, but it was good. He seemed to get along with the boy better anyway. And that was what mattered. Sure he was a little idiot for getting his clothes soaked to the bone, but Kakashi missed things like that. However, it reminded him all too much of his Genin team, which truly wasn't something the Hatake wanted to dwell on.

He did so anyway.

After opening the window fully, letting all the steam air out, Kakashi found his thoughts linger towards his three, not so little Genin. Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto. Kakashi felt his mood fall slightly knowing that none of his team even existed at this point of time. He wouldn't see then for at least another 4 years... And they'd only be babies. He wouldn't be able to truly see his 3 Genin for 18 - 20 years... That was a little too long for Kakashi to wait he realised. He missed Naruto's bright personality. Sasuke's stubbornness, Sakura's Determination... And so much more. He wanted to be the leader of team 7 again but, even then there would be no guarantee they would even be assigned to his team again. It might be that those three won't even end up in the same teams...

If Kakashi does succeed in keeping Minato-sensei alive at least, Naruto's life will be immensely different. He'd have a father, possibly a mother if Kakashi could save Kushina as well. He may be stronger than he used to be as a child. Naruto and Sasuke were placed in the same team because Naruto had been looked down on, considered the class clown. The weakest. So naturally, they placed the strongest with the weakest. But... If Minato-sensei taught Naruto how to fight properly... They wouldn't be placed in the same team like before. Would they?

Kakashi shook his head, He didn't really have time to be thinking so intently of his team. Even if they were not in the same team that didn't mean Kakashi couldn't still know them. He'd undoubtedly be close with Naruto since Minato was his sensei. And he supposed because Sasuke is an Uchiha, related to Obito in some way, he'd be able to see him too. And Sakura no doubt as it would be obvious that she would become Sasuke's fangirl yet again. It made Kakashi smile. He didn't need to worry, he'd see those three all in good time. He just needed patience.

So he redirected his attention to the problem at hand.

Walking out into his living room, and into his bedroom, Kakashi got dressed in his usual attire. He'd had to wash it since it was all wet and smelled like algae and fish. Gross. After pulling up his mask Kakashi walked into the living room and sighed to himself before deciding what exactly he would do. He couldn't just leave the village, could he? And what would he even do? Was was the most imminent threat at this moment that he'd need to eradicate?

Kannabi Bridge.

It was definitely the next closest threat, and even if Kakashi couldn't save all of his friends from experiencing pain, Obito was the person who truly didn't deserve anything he'd been forced to go through. Kakashi could at the very least prevent the Uchiha from feeling that sort of pain, both physical and emotional. He wanted to help. He didn't want to rely on violence... So, Kakashi sat down, bit his thumb, and summoned an all too familiar face, although the dog was much smaller than Kakashi was used to, it still made the Hatake smile knowing his summoning friend was still around.

"Pakkun." Kakashi had addressed, probably a little too excited to his realisation, but the pug didn't seem to mind all that much, but was a little confused at Kakashi's err... not stern greeting?

"Yeah Pup? You called?" Kakashi smiled with his eyes in a sense, and really only confused the dog more, but he had to tell at least someone he would be leaving the Village, most likely to destroy Kannabi Bridge since it seemed like it was the most logical thing to do. If the bridge was gone, then they wouldn't be sent on the mission to destroy it. Simple. And Kakashi had to get it destroyed soon before the Sandaime finalised their mission. Thinking of the mission made Kakashi's eye ache a little but he shrugged it off. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as it had been before.

"I did. Pakkun. I'll be leaving the Village for a few days, but you can't tell anyone alright? This isn't something I want anyone to know about. Especially not Minato-sensei. Understand?" Pakkun seemed to nod his head slowly in understanding, but he didn't really get why Kakashi was wanting to leave the Village, without telling anyone as well. Didn't that count as abandoning the Village? Would they send a team to retrieve him if they found out? Pakkun didn't know, but he definitely wanted to ask.

"I guess... But Pup- er... Boss. Why are you needing to leave unannounced?" Kakashi smiled under his mask at the concern Pakkun gave, or maybe it was only curiosity, but also the fact that he was still being called Pup by the dog. It was something that Pakkun had called him until he'd reached Jounin. Or maybe it was ANBU? Either way, it was a name that he'd been called when he was younger. It made him feel better, to say the least.

"Well..." Kakashi scratched his cheek- or the mask that covered it- sheepishly to Pakkuns confusion. Kakashi was behaving differently he noticed, but he was in no place to question his boss of what was making him behave differently. He was only there to follow orders after all. "It's an emergency, I can't really tell you the specifics..." The Hatake's features faltered slightly. He wanted to tell Pakkun everything. He didn't want to be the only one who knew of the future, but... It would be better is the dog stayed unaware.

"Then what would you have me do with this information?" Pakkun asked in return, not really finding any other reason to argue with his boss. Kakashi knew best. He would most likely make Jounin in a few months and would be considered a strong Shinobi among others in no time at all. Pakkun shouldn't question. Just do as told. That's what a good summoning did right? Yes. Definitely.

"Hmm.." Kakashi thought to himself for a moment, and Pakkun could for some reason notice fondness on his features. What was he thinking about? Little did the dog now that a certain Uchiha had crossed the Hatake's mind. "Well, you should probably tell Obito where I've gone. But only after everyone else had realised. I'm going to a place called Kannabi Bridge. You needn't know any more than that." Kakashi waved his hand off and Pakkun sweatdropped. Kannabi Bridge? That was in enemy territory. Was Kakashi trying to get himself killed? Enrage the enemy? Pakkun really didn't know, but he would do as told. Kakashi must have had a very important reason for doing so, and it was his job to carry out an order. He just wished he wouldn't be so kept in the dark.

"Yes Sir." Pakkun addressed before poofing away. Kakashi didn't think the dog would have been so understanding, but Pakkun seemed to prove him otherwise. Kakashi sighed in relief once he was alone, and looked over the clock on his dresser. It was 9 pm, nearing 10 pm if he were honest. Geez, it was much later than Kakashi cared to notice. Maybe that would make it easier for him to leave now? The Hatake really had been hoping to get some rest after Obito's antics earlier, but he was a Ninja. He had to act, especially if it meant changing the course of history. If he missed out on a little sleep then so be it. Kakashi walked to his door, opened it, and closed it slowly behind him. Locking it he walked down the steps of his apartment while concealing his Chakra. He didn't want any ANBU getting wind that he's left the Village.

So, he ended up leaving sending a clone back to his house in hopes of fooling anyone who happened to stop by. Kakashi poured a fair amount of Chakra into it, so it would last a fair amount of time, assuming it didn't go and attend training. But Kakashi didn't worry too much about that since Minato-sensei had told him to take all the rest he needed. The clone would be fine, and he would be home free in getting out of the Village. It was a two day trip to Kannabu Bridge, so four days there and back. Kakashi could do this. He just prayed to Kami his clone would last.

It would, surely it would.

That was when Kakashi's mind drifted away as he walked about the streets, probably a little too casual for what he was about to do. Simply leaving the Village unannounced wasn't really something one should take lightly, but Kakashi was confident he'd be able to take down a Jounin or two without much work. Probably an ANBU as well. He did retain most of his knowledge of training after all, and even if his small body wouldn't be able to keep up very well, it would be enough to take down the bare minimum. It reminded the Hatake of the fact that he would need to relearn everything he'd once known, or practice all again anyway. Because he didn't have the Sharingan, or rather because he was half sure he didn't have it- sometimes Kakashi really didn't know- then he'd need to learn a new way to heighten Chidori's power and accuracy without relying on his eye.

It was annoying, but Kakashi figured he'd have to know sooner or later, so once he'd get back it seemed like training would be the first thing on his to-do list. Aside from befreinding Obito that is. Kakashi may or may not have been trying to get the Uchiha to warm up to him since he'd figured Obito really had only ever felt jeleous of his strength. In a way they had a similar dynamic Naruto and Sasuke had. But Kakashi wouldn't be like Sasuke or his old self, this time he would acknowledge his Uchiha companion. It would only be fair since he couldn't keep his promise to the boy in his past timeline. He would keep all his promises this time. For sure!

However, It was as Kakashi had been approaching the front gate when he was taken from his thoughts. He looked ahead to see that there weren't any guards at the front gate. That was... Not right. Where were they? They wouldn't have left their post.. Would they? Some Jpunin were slack, but guards did at least stay in position most of the time Kakashi liked to think. That was when it caught his eye. The lone figure that was standing infront of the gate. The apparence was shadowy, and if Kakashi hadn't recognised the Chakra signal, then he most likely wouldn't have known who it was altogether.

But he did. He knew who it was. As to why the boy was there Kakashi really couldn't say. But it made his heart drop deep into his stomach, while his body tensed in understanding. Why was he...? Of all people... It was... The boy standing infroj of the gate, barely 50 meters away, it really was...

"Obito?"

Authors Notes:

Hello there everyone! So soon I have decided to write the next chapter ^^; Like, only one day has passed. Huh, well maybe that was simply because I enjoyed writing this chapter so much! The first half anyways... Obito's breakdown was, well, interesting to write. He's slowly coming to realize what he'd done was wrong. But then... Why's he at the gate? Welp, seems like another chapter is in order. And I'm excited to write this next one too so maybe that will come out sooner rather than later? Maybe. Anyways please leave a review and thank you all so much for your continued support!
