"It was true? There was a dragon?" Snape asked in surprise. He glanced at Draco. "Then I am sorry for not believing you, Draco."
"Finally," Draco said in satisfaction. It had bothered him that no one seemed to believe him.
"Why were you around a dragon? Why was a dragon at the castle?" Narcissa asked with a frown. What in the world went on at Hogwarts?
"It was the games-keeper," Draco said. "I saw Harry and his friends in Hagrid's hut with a baby dragon." He merely grinned when Harry scowled at him.
"Hagrid, of course," Snape groaned. That man was an overgrown child.
"He loved Norbert, but my friends and I convinced him he couldn't keep him so Ron arranged for his brother Charlie to take him," Harry explained. "Charlie works with dragons in Romania."
"Norbert?" Draco asked incredulously. "What kind of name is that for a dragon?"
Harry shrugged. "Hagrid liked it, I guess."
"Dragons, especially baby dragons, are very unpredictable. You shouldn't have been around one," Lucius said, feeling irritation at the very thought. "Do the professors not keep an eye on the children at Hogwarts?" He asked Snape exasperatedly.
"There are a lot of students in the castle and the adults have to hope that the children will obey the rules put in place for their safety," Snape said, looking at Harry pointedly.
Harry flushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"What should you have done when you found out Hagrid had a dragon?" Lucius asked his son, a tinge of sternness in his voice.
"Well," Harry sighed. "I suppose we should have told someone. Like Professor McGonagall or the Headmaster. But we didn't want Hagrid to get into trouble!"
"It's not like Hagrid would have received detention," Snape said in exasperation. "The Headmaster would have helped him, I assure you."
"He wouldn't have been fired?"
"No, of course not. Professor Dumbledore is very fond of Hagrid. He likely would have lectured him about the dangers of having a dragon around but he wouldn't have fired him."
"Oh," Harry sighed. "I guess it was stupid, but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time."
"Merlin," Lucius sat down on the sofa. "Perhaps we should home-school you boys this year."
"No way," Draco protested.
"We won't," Narcissa assured him. "Although, it is tempting." She murmured.
"I'll keep an eye on him at school," Draco offered.
Harry huffed at him and crossed his arms across his chest. Geez, he wasn't that much trouble. Was he?
Snape rolled his eyes. "I will be keeping an eye on you both. And your parents will be checking in regularly, I'm sure."
"You better believe we will," Lucius promised.

After Snape left, Harry brought up a question that had been on his mind. "Are you going to change my name?"
"To Malfoy? Of course, you are a Malfoy." Lucius answered.
"No, I know that. I meant, are you not going to allow me to be called Harry?"
"Your name is Hadrian." Lucius insisted.
"Harry can be a nickname for Hadrian," Narcissa pointed out. "So officially, yes, Hadrian is your name but we can call you Harry if you would like us to."
"A nickname?" Lucius asked incredulously. He sighed. "I prefer Hadrian. Will it bother you very much if I call you that?" He asked his son softly. If id did bother him, then he would, of course, call him Harry. But he liked the name Hadrian.
"No," Harry said, after thinking about it for a moment. "It's okay." It wasn't a bad name, he just wasn't used to it.
"I'll call you Harry, I don't mind," Narcissa said, giving Lucius a look. He merely raised an eyebrow in response.
"Me either," Draco said. "As long as it's Harry Malfoy," he stressed the last name.
Harry grinned. "This is all so strange," He said. He was a Malfoy. It was so surreal.
"Maybe you should take a rest," Narcissa suggested, gently touching his arm. He looked so tired and of course he would, he had had quite a shock. They all had.
"We'll go to my room. Or our room, actually," Draco said, grabbing Harry's arm. "Come on."
"Draco," Narcissa smiled softly. "He's not a toy to drag around the house."
Draco made a face. "I am not -"
"It's okay. I wouldn't mind resting." Harry said quickly.
"We have many rooms," Narcissa told Harry. "You can pick out any room you want."
"We can't share my room?" Draco asked in a whine. "Why not? It's big enough."
"You want to share?" Lucius raised an eyebrow.
Draco nodded. "We aren't in the same dorms at school so…" he shrugged. He wanted to be near his brother. He hated that they weren't in the same House at school.
"I don't mind," Harry said honestly. He wanted to get to know his brother better. Even if it is Draco, he thought with some humor.
"Very well. Call Dobby to add a bed and dresser for Harry," Narcissa said, smiling at her boys.
Draco took him up the grand staircase and down the hallway into a room that was huge. "We can add another bed to one side of the room. Do you want your side covered in red and gold?" he asked generously. I will just have to try not to gag at the colors, he told himself.
"No," Harry laughed. "Just because I'm a Gryffindor doesn't mean those are the only colors I like."
"Oh," Draco looked around the room, which was done in green, silver, and black. His favorite colors.
"Not that there is anything wrong with that," Harry added quickly. "I just, I don't know. I like blue." He shrugged.
"Blue is good. Dobby?"
Dobby popped into the room. "Yes, Master Draco?"
"Decorate one side of the room in blue," Draco ordered. "And add a bed, a dresser, and a desk."
"Please," Harry added, giving Draco a mild glare.
Dobby stared at Harry and his lower lip trembled. "Master Hadrian said please to Dobby?"
"You're probably not used to that word around here, huh?" Harry joked.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Draco asked with a frown. "I wasn't being rude to him."
"It's always rude not to say please and thank you," Harry shrugged.
"Even to house-elves?" Draco glanced at Dobby. He had never even thought about it before. House-elves were just there to serve their families.
"Well, yeah," Harry said in exasperation. "Just because they work here doesn't mean you can't be polite. I don't know anything about house elves but," he hesitated. "Do they get paid?"
"Paid?" Draco asked incredulously.
"Yeah. They work here, shouldn't they get paid?"
"House-elves don't get paid. They don't want to be." Draco told him.
Harry's mouth dropped open. "You don't get paid?" He asked Dobby in horror.
Dobby shook his head frantically. "No, we don't like pay! We like to work!" He insisted.
"But you can quit if you want to?"
"No, they can't. House elves are magically bound to serve their masters unless their master frees them." Draco explained.
"How does their master free them?" Harry asked with a frown
"With clothes."
"Oh, that's why Tipsey was upset at the thought of getting clothes," Harry murmured.
"It is shameful for an elf to receive clothes," Dobby nodded. "Tipsey is already in disgrace for what she has done. The other house-elves will not speak to her."
Harry frowned. He felt bad for the elf, she had only done what she thought best. He wished she hadn't done it but she had seemed sincere that she was just doing what she thought best.
"Dobby still speaks to her," Dobby assured him. "Dobby knows Tipsey didn't mean to hurt anyone."
Harry watched with some fascination as Dobby began redecorating one side of the room, moving furniture around and changing colors. Shades of dark and light blue with a little gray here and there and with the snap of Dobby's fingers, a bed, a desk, and a dresser appeared. The bed was covered with a rugby-striped comforter and many fluffy-looking pillows.
"Wow!" Harry sat on the bed and nearly groaned at how comfortable it was. The bed in Dudley's second bedroom was lumpy with springs sticking out. This bed was luxury. "I can't believe how soft it is. Like a cloud," he laid back with a happy sigh.
"What was your room like at the muggle's house?" Draco asked softly. He had a bad feeling...
Harry would have evaded the answer if he hadn't been so tired. But he was drowsy so he said more than he meant to. "It was a room where Dudley kept his broken toys. The bed was so small and worn out that springs stuck out of it. This one is so comfortable, even better than my bed at Hogwarts."
Draco took a deep breath to calm his anger. "I'm really happy you're home, Harry."
"Me too," Harry murmured before falling asleep.
/
"Did Dobby decorate the room for Harry?" Narcissa asked when Draco re-entered the sitting room.
"Yes," Draco said. "He likes the color blue so Dobby did it in different shades. It looks nice."
"Where is Hadrian?" Lucius asked when he realized his other son wasn't with Draco.
"He fell asleep," Draco said quietly.
"It's been a big day, I'm not surprised he needed a nap," Narcissa said. "How are you doing, Draco?"
"I'm angry," Draco answered.
"Why?" Lucius asked in surprise.
"As Harry was falling asleep, I asked him about his previous bedroom at the muggle's house," Draco said. "He got a room where the muggle boy kept his broken toys and the bed had springs sticking out."
"Is that so," Lucius murmured, anger flashing through his eyes.
Narcissa wrung her hands. "Merlin, Lucius. They used him as a servant, hit him, didn't give him a proper room, didn't feed him, and didn't buy him clothes."
"And they will answer for it," Lucius said, his voice like ice. "I will make sure of that personally."
"So will I," Narcissa said in a determined voice.
"I was awful to Harry this past year at school," Draco blurted out. "I was jealous of him, he was famous and then got to be a seeker. I was such a prat to him!"
Lucius gave a small chuckle. "Sounds like you were already acting like siblings," he teased.
Draco smiled ruefully. "I tried to be his friend, but I insulted Weasley so he rejected me," he admitted. "I didn't know why I kept seeking him out during the year, but maybe somehow I knew. Deep inside or something?"
"It wouldn't surprise me," Narcissa said softly. "We felt it too when we watched him on the platform. Like something was drawing us to him."
Suddenly Dobby popped into the room. "Master Hadrian is not sleeping well," He said fretfully.
Narcissa stood up. "What do you mean?" She asked anxiously.
"He is tossing and turning," Dobby said. "He keeps moaning like he's scared."
Narcissa, Draco, and Lucius wasted no time hurrying up the stairs and bursting into the bedroom. Harry was indeed tossing and turning in his sleep and little whimpers kept escaping from him.
"Sweetheart," Narcissa said softly. "Harry, it's okay." She gently began rubbing his arm as she sat beside him.
"You're safe, Son," Lucius said in a gentle voice.
Draco grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "You're home, Harry. You're home and safe." He said softly.
After a moment, Harry blinked his eyes open. "Huh? What happened?"
"You were having a bad dream," Narcissa said in concern.
Harry sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Oh. Yeah, it's just the usual. I wasn't screaming was I?" He asked in alarm.
"No," Lucius said. "Does that happen?"
Harry shrugged. "Sometimes."
"What are you dreaming about?"
"I don't have it all the time," Harry assured them. "It's just...there's a green light and laughter. Then I'm trapped in the dark and I'm begging to be let out…" he trailed off, flushing from embarrassment. "It's no big deal."
"Yes, it is," Narcissa said, pulling him in for a hug.
"Trapped in the dark? Is that from being in your cupboard?" Draco asked.
Harry's eyes widened and he glanced at his parents.
"Draco said you mentioned your room being a cupboard," Lucius said. "Those muggles…" he tried to keep his temper under control. He didn't want to upset his children.
"They hate magic," Harry explained. "I think they thought I would contaminate them, or something."
"They're child abusers," Narcissa said frostily. "They should have never treated you like that." Her face fell. "You should never have been with them. You were supposed to be with us!"
"Narcissa," Lucius said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry," Narcissa said, looking at Harry with pain in her eyes. "I'm just so sorry."
Harry couldn't stand it, seeing them blame themselves. "It wasn't your fault."
"We are your parents. We should have protected you."
"I was taken from you, it wasn't your fault," Harry said, leaning into her. It felt so good to be hugged. "Besides, we're together now."
Narcissa closed her eyes for a moment, basking in holding her son. She opened them to see Lucius also looking emotional, his arm around Draco. After the childhood he had had, how had their son stayed so kind? So sweet?
"Nothing will separate us again," Lucius said firmly. He would do whatever he had to to protect his family and keep them together.
